kaziblake:God will only cleanse you folks from greed and grant you patience and wisdom, enough tools to save yourselves. |
Hmmm....,'watching over them', is biblical lingo. Who's trying to play God there. |
ayindejimmy:Without social justice you will never get the co-operation you need to fight corruption and our nation is structurally imbalanced to create justice. It will always be, taking one's cookie and giving it to another. There is no way the south will accept any sermon preached by this government for obvious reasons and without their co-operation Nigeria cannot progress. The British were driven out in 1960 but before then they instaled a virus in our system to guarantee everlasting regret. Nigeria has not known 12 calendar months of peace ever since. Just fed up. |
Op thinks this query will attract much sympathy. Yes, a year and 100 dollar oil ago. These days you might combine all the above-mentions and still require an undertaker. |
MrALIVE:What they ask you cannot deliver as it is tantamount to harakiri. There would be no N4eria thoughtless of government left. |
PresVA:Killed a few cows and drank beer over his grave in the village cemetary like a dozen years ago. Even folks who steal billions don't last here. |
murmee:They don't want to. Its their cash cow and they've all got their snouts in the trough. What we are witnessing is mere redneck lizardry. If you want to eliminate lassa fever in addition to cuffing rats you clean your closet or else the macabre dance remains as regular as the premiership season. Corruption can never end. |
drss:Well you did nothing when you held power so I just got the sense that your horse has bolted. Next time you are in power do the do. |
The report is disjointed. Can't ascertain the sequence of events. |
Started watching CNN since 1989. Virtually every newscaster has been caught. It is not a matter of 'if' but 'when'. But a ringing phone. That's a new low. Can't see his survival after that but....this is Naija. He maybe the Senate President's wife's uncle's cousin's nephew's third child from the fourth wife... |
Don't worry Mr. Rat. No matter how they marginalise you, your survival in this great country is assured. You will never become a minority tribe. |
Bad, bad move. Buhari is certainly not a politician and the party, the APC will suffer for it in the long run. 'You stoop to conquer' and even if he didn't do it for Kogi, he should have done it for Bayelsa, which means for Nigeria and her polity, her nascent democracy, for the good of the game. It is good to be principled but it is wise to be broad minded. Such is expected of leadership. Am afraid this will not endear the President to the people of the delta and give more ammunition to those who wish no well to the Nigerian project. Mr. President...you no try for dis one atall. |
Originalsly:....point and kill. |
eromspete:22,000 for 100 dead american presidents. For where. Na CBN Airline. |
Orikinla:Don't mind him. By the time they put kettle for fire, club catfish to death, turn the amala finish an cut am for ya plate 'fasten seatbelt light don on'. Op na ya type dey complain about turbulence. If dem begin dey pound yam join no be faint. |
Hahaha. Op. Just a 55 minute flight. What do expect poundy, fisherman's soup and pammy? Dollar na 300. You no go ask the last time when dey do C - check. Na chop and quench you dey. |
DonXavi:Maybe he wants to export them to Vietnam to farm catfish. |
tubouncen:Hahaha. The last thing any Nigerian wants to hear is the word 'oyel' whether crude aka tompolo or smooth, suave and slippery aka roachy baba. |
That is the right, sensible and logical thing to do to balance the books. Revenues are declining and if additional cash cannot be generated the government has no option. |
hungryboy:When they are all dead then what will happen. Kindly complete it. One single blast and Chevron is declaring Force Majeur. You think this is insurgency. |
Technically 'fasting' is merely spiritual focus. Nothing more. It is about emphasis, intensity. As human beings our bodies and our souls work at cross purposes to our spirit. In order to heighten one we have to diminish, degrade, control the other. I would liken it to trying to see in the dark. If you are in brightly lit room at night and you want to see clearly immediately you step out you shut your eyes for a moment before opening the door. Now the oft misunderstood key here is what the fast does. Just as with the example I stated. The light or darkness doesn't change what happens is you adapt. In a fast it is not God or the situation that changes but you. You assume a higher level of focus, awareness and power. So God can answer your prayer and He answers every prayer of saints everytime but what we call 'answers' results is not always a function of God alone. For example. "Daddy I am hungry" There are many answers to that. One. Daddy gets up and gets you a sandwich. Two. "Peter my servant, get my son a sandwich" Three. "Son, there is a sandwich on the kitchen counter". These are the ways of God mature Christians position themselves to know by fasting. The truth sadly is that fasting is not only about food and prayer. It is also about knowledge search and understanding. Personally I prefer to fast as occasion serves rather than by time table and church bulk service so that I can take time of work to meet with the demands of time, focus and energy. And except if you are a pastor I cannot see where you will get 21 days to focus on God in the times we face. |
sojiboy:So banks that launder loot have limited liability. Interesting. |
Hmmm... Oxford, Yale, the Washington Post, the White House and even the BBC....then what hope does the 'Davido generation' have..... The learning and reading culture is dead and with it goes thè freedoms of people. Just look at the interests of the broad spectrum represented by Nairaland front page and count the number of educative posts, then descend to the informative ones before ending up with the dregs....the Yobo's twerking, Sanusi's daughters, and other topics that add absolutely nothing to the competence of a person....in a world where knowledge rules. That's precisely why nothing works in Nigeria .The Nigerian cannot grow. Cannot rise to meet his challenges. The British have gone and we have been independent since 1960 but our hate for knowledge has left us shackled to colonialism. Our architects still design houses with BQ's, our big men still sit in the 'owners corner' and the police remains 'a force'. But if MIT or Obama is not getting it right then who am I. |
Whatever Tompolo has stolen, diverted, misappropriated should just be written off or written down by the State and taken as a bad debt or pay off. He is no more in power or official influence and so cannot do the treasury and further damage as it were. Doing contrary is unwise. People talk about law as if Tompolo got those contracts and positions through due process, competitive bidding or professional exams. He got them by the barrel of a gun. He is an outlaw who the State chose to bring in from the cold because it believed in the saying: keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Nigeria created the person, the place and the scenario. We should let it go. 5 years, 50,000 lives and 5 trillion has been lost to what I call needless conflict just because authorities are not wise to act. Tompolo and the ND problem substantially weakened during the last regime. May it not be revived in error. |
xMrPx:Oga. These people have made huge sacrifices for the Niger-Delta. Derivation, ND Ministry, NDDC are the products of their armed struggle. A lot has been wasted, stolen and misappropriated but every kilometer of road, hospital, airports, farms, schools; Uduagan's, Akpabio, Amaechi and Oshiomhole's so called achievements were because of the likes of 'stubborn', 'thieving' Tompolo and co. If not for him the Nigerian state hung Ken Saro Wiwa and said do your worst. So if you are from the Niger-Delta talking rubbish against your agitators, know this; Firstly. What he has stolen is just a fraction of what others have and continue to steal as I speak. Secondly. They want to take his likes out, the first step in reversing affirmative action. I will continue to say this. The likes of Tompolo is the price Nigeria has to pay in the road to nationhood. And until he and his likes 'eat to their fill' any attempt to truncate the process is just kicking the can down a dangerous and uncertain path. |
jascon1:On the pipelines. Hmmm. |
otokx:Good morning....hahaha |
Sohot1:....hmmm 1984 reloading....and I disliked that movie 'Dejavu'....so uncanny....I can swear I have seen this all before....then it was BP and Esso starting with Murtala and Baba Iyabo. Then we go cap in hand again....the more things 'change' the more they stay the same. |
So anyone using an MTN line is liable in this conspiracy to defraud Nigeria and launder illegal proceeds. Oya report yaselves to the men in red....yes all 80 million of you. |
Whizpeter:Pally, you don't need a university education to understand what is written just a willingness to read. |
Just as I warned about the politicization of the bokoharam insurgency and the denigration of public office during the previous regime which the APC and its supporters are now witnessing against them to their shock and consternation so I do say once again: When will these people, this government and this party take responsibility and do what it was elected to do, that is to govern. The more it continues to trade blames the more it bleeds its goodwill and once again when (not if) it is voted out, it must be prepared to carry the can of responsibility well beyond its time in office. The PDP is out of power, the Jonathan government is gone forever. Can we move on please. History is only for learning purposes. It doesn't bake bread. |
