Joe4lv: We live in sham believing we are one in this country.
I don't preach separation but I know that if you go to the north, you will be denied certain privileges cos you're from the south and same happens in other regions.
we should as a people,do this: 1. abolish state of origin 2. rotate presidency amongst all the regions or better still implement true federalism. 3. implement PIB
Trust me,the best way to bury Biafra is regionalism but I wonder why the Nigeria govt after saying the east has no natural resources and are ravaged by erosion still don't want regionalism. Bring regionalism and let those easterners suffer if you feel your claims are right. Couldn't put it better but because Nigeria cannot succeed they can't see it. To them corruption is the one and only, the front and centre problem and Dasuki is the current artiste. The nation is distracted, dancing to the dictates of those who know this country and felt they saved it from the brink....of realization. The truth is just as the proof of love is letting go, liberty is and remains the proof of true nationhood. And like a famous man speaking of love says, "if it comes back to you it is yours, if it does not it means it was never yours in the first place." If this nation is ours we will naturally love it. No one must be forced to maintain a relationship he/she doesn't desire. |

ZUBY77: Since Buhari and his cronies are hell bent on tagging every PDP member a thief, everybody will move to APC.
Lets see how he handles that. Apparently, Democracy in Nigeria is already dead. It's only a matter of time before you see it. The moment you start to gag everybody, even the opposition spokesman, obtaining usless court order from one Aboki to another, to keep them locked up, the others will end up in APC like Amaechi, Saraki, etc.
And for those kids shouting PDP is dead, you don't get it. PDP is turning to APC. So the dead people are shifting their Graves closer to the house. Sooner or later, the army will have to take over this shithole again. And we will be rolled back to 1970. All but your last line is cool. Can you see what corruption can do. It defines the landscape, contours the terrain and evolves to survive the harshest environments. That is why you cannot fight corruption without social justice and you can only have that if you restructure. The PMB government cannot fight a just fight so corruption simply camoflagues. If corrupt PDP members move to the APC then the fight is over. Like 1984, the system wins again. Buhari is playing a game of solataire and the stack of cards and moves are quickly running out. |

Truckpusher: Well said bro, this is what the average Nigerian wants to see be it a PDP or APC supporter and I can assure you that if Buhari tow this line of reasoning then corruption would be beaten hands down.
And if Wike is found wanting during his days with Amaechi let him get the same and equal treatment like every criminal - Any lopsided fight against corruption would be ridiculed by the very corrupt people using gullible supporters like Passingshot as a conduit for misinforming the ordinary masses via their propaganda outlets. Buhari vowed to fight corruption and if he gets just 30% improvement, it will send a clear message to all and sundry that it is no longer business as usual. The corrupt people are the elites , the ordinary man level of corruption is nothing compared to what these demons in human clothing are doing to our economy. Buhari should bring them to justice irrespective of who's involved and we will support him all the way but anything other than that would amount to nothing but ridicule and an exercise in futility. But he can't do anything about Amaechi, same way he can't do anything about OBJ, same way he can't do anything about Maduekwe. You don't understand Nigeria and her corruption industry. |

omenka: It is evident that a petition has since been filed against Amaechi and it would be totally unfair to sweep it under the rug. The war against corruption must be all encompassing.
Buhari must, as a matter of principle, try to avoid bearing any moral burden (just as he did by getting rid of Lamorde) that may take the wind out his sail as regards the anticorruption crusade.
The government of Rivers state must also play their part by ensuring all evidence are made available to the antigraft agencies and, if need be, published on the social media so we the people can put as much pressure as we can on the authorities to do their job which they should do without prodding. Nothing will happen. It doesn't take a genie to tell that some sort of pre-indictment, out of court plea deal has taken place between Amaechi and Wike who's number is probably on the red vests' speed dial. omonnakoda: There is a law mandating government to pay the. The law also has an expiry date Which was December. The amount paid is now being phased out but the truth is those who were 13 years old when the deal was signed are now ripe and sharper than those still collecting the money who have grown fat and lazy so paying the old ones does not take care of the problem . For starters anyway the oil revenue is 30% what it was when the deal was signed and a large part of the problem lies with the state governors like Ibori e.g.
Oil will finish one day ,in fact Nigeria has about 35 years reserves in the ground. Thaat region wil be desolate afterwards if there is no forward planning The region will be desolate or the whole of Nigeria. 35 dollar oil and the WHOLE of Nigeria, FG inclusive cannot pay salaries. Better wake up. The law of gravity says he who is further from the ground suffers most. The guys in the creeks who know nothing but poverty are going to enjoy post oil the most. The rest of Nigeria living on big oil will suffer the most. |

Then you donot understand the term development. Have you ever seen anything grow from the sky to the ground. Very typical Nigerian who buys cars without roads, builds houses without water orlight, buys jets without airways. Nonsense. Development of a nation starts with the mindset of its people. In Lagos under 'One Nigeria' there seem to exist a silent economic war of destruction of livelihood, burning of markets in the middle of the night, extortion and harassment of genuine businesses by official area boys and street urchins, illegal/multiple taxing of business owners, in markets where Igbos operate e.g. Tejuoso, Alaba International and Ladipo. And now Oshodi electrical & electronic market.
Many of these attracious deeds are conducted at odd times when the traders won't be available to resist the dastardly acts.
Over the decades in the South-West, the Yorubas have systematically burnt Igbo shops as a guise to hijacking the markets from Igbos.
https://www.nairaland.com/2618835/hoodlums-shut-down-alaba-international
Prior to the 2015 general elections, amidst the threat by the lagoon crooner to drown Igbos, 18 Chisco transport buses were criminally burnt down in Lagos and up till date nothing was done to bring the culprits to book.
What does 'One Nigeria' mean? A deceit where you are empowered to share my crude oil and wealth as 'One Nigeria' while I am considered a migrant to your State whom you're just merely accommodating and may perish in the lagoon at your command.
It is a chaotic situation where the Oba of a place would invite the representative of a people for discussion in his palace as regards a market leadership dispute only to set an ambush for him and unleash hundreds of thugs to flog and disgrace him.
It is an unjust situation where you're licensed to use foul means to destroy my business in your State with outrageous taxes. You can close my business premises at will while your elites continue to shout 'One Nigeria' to cover up the evils and injustices prevalent in the land. And you still expect me to be docile and continue to suffer silently as your hate and envy for my progress soar high.
Now, do you have any case for unity - fake or imaginary?
If you have there would no need fooling and playing to the gallery and shouting 'One Nigeria'. Or have you ever heard 'One Great Britain', 'One United States of America', 'One Germany'? That shows that something is fundamentally wrong which many have been shying away from.
Is it a crime for any person/group to choose to opt out of a relationship?
Strange bedfellows, with irreconcilable value systems that are at best suitable for the individual selves, are not meant to be together! The 102 years of existence attest to that verdict!
Victor Hugo once said "no army can stop an idea whose time has come" and that "one can resist the invasion of armies but not the invasion of ideas". Hmmm. My brother, I feel you. No nation can ever progress with the kind of divisions that exist in Nigeria - a state that is at war with its citizens. They are just wasting their time. |
