OBJ is only good in receiving, while Atiku is good in giving
Yeah....he's a 'wide receiver'.

I don't have more reasons to engage in the public outcry than you do. I belong to no party even though I support PMB and believe in APC than PDP.

That the presidency still has those 10 or 11 jets without public outcry already is a shame. It's a result of absence of credible opposition. PDP is unfortunately not qualified to condemn the presidency on this issue because while they held sway, they saw nothing wrong in it and even increased the fleet to the current abysmal number. Any crying from PDP will be tightly termed as wailing.
Where is KOWA, APGA and the rest?
Wrong again and shows sentiments. Face the game, not the players. No matter how badly the PDP has done it remains your only hope of salvation, of change. It will guarantee you more 'change' than the APC because responsibility is hard. Anyway it will be delusional to think the APC will remain in power forever no matter the performance. Winston Churchill led Britain to war success and then was voted out having considered him not worthy to handle the peace. Bush broke America, Obama repaired it now the people say he is too soft and want to kick 'some a.rse' abroad once again. Such is life. Buhari to repair the purse Babangida to squander once again. Don't you just love the game... and the PDP.

To me, this is not surprising at all. In fact, I expected this to have come from OBJ long before now. The reason being that PMB has rightly decided not to allow the so called influential Nigerians tele-guide him.

Expect Tinubu, Atiku and a few others to tow similar path to OBJ in the coming months. It's what they will resort to once they're not consulted before major policies/decisions are taken by the government of the day.

If it was ok for the Ineffectual Buffoon to borrow during surplus revenue with NOTHING to show for it, is Buhari expected to perform magic without borrowing during "recession" with far less income?

Lastly, losers in the last election should permanently register it in their brain that the Ineffectual Buffoon was NEVER an option in the last election. He will NEVER EVER be an option in any future presidential election in Nigeria. He has been consigned to sorry past history of the country. So, no amount of crying, wailing and idiotic display will bring him back.
My friend, if Buhari does not consult, he will surely fail. Life and history is chequered with men who towed similar paths, and for your information this is a democracy where numbers rule. Your powers and influence are directly linked to them. Buhari was removed by members of the SMC, his own constituency in 1985. Members who were more in touch with the people than he and Idiagbon. Dictatorship is bad for many reasons and is akin to dulling nerve endings. Destruction creeps in and overwhelms without notice. He ignores his party hierachy to his peril. Must sad history always repeat itself.

If they don't arrest the sponsors of boko haram, the terrorist group will never stop killing innocent Nigerians. They will just keep getting more poverty stricken religious zealots to kill our people. When APC was saying the group had been stopped, I just dey look them. Anyone with common sense knew it wasn't likely even though we hoped for the best. They should stop talking about captured towns and start telling us how they are cracking down on the sponsors
Ideologies don't require sponsors like you think. Its like saying who sponsors the Pentecostal Movement or the Catholic church or Judaism or the Shiite sect. You may have one or two 'big men' backers come their way once a while and times would be good but at other time adherents will seek out sustenance for themselves. Bokoharam is sustained by those 'who believe its message, direction and disposition' and are willing to even 'tithe their legitimate income' to keep it going. My guess is Boko haram is upheld by the average John Doe citizen that believes in their vision, a caliphate, being dissatisfied that Nigeria remains secular so they will do everything to destroy the constitution. There are several Nigerians that donot believe in Nigeria. You cannot defeat their ideology by force of arms alone. You need a superior ideology and you need to be persuasive, to make them believe in the Nigerian Project.

When Shekau said they didn't want western education even the intellectuals misconstrued it. It is a loaded statement and the key to all this. Let us reason for once.

Pally, your wife sounds like a glutton. When people say they can't do things because of senses and sensations there is trouble knocking. In this season of weight related diabetis awareness I suggest you give your unborn a fighting chance at living a disease free life by cutting sugar intake prevalent in cocoa drinks (which are naturally bitter). As for your orobo wife her taste buds will lead her to eating broiled fish without salt later in life just to stay alive. Use your head wisely NOW.

It is not easy and in most parts, impossible under this structure. What he should do is to hold the ship of state steady, build institutions and leave the rest to Nigerians to sort out on a need-to-have basis, i.e. they will do or die. But to force them is to fail.

What is more shocking reading through the first page responses is that most folks are surprised, enlightened, and 'eye-opened' by this. What is more saddened is that we are building a country full of people than know next to nothing about what affects them so badly on a day to day basis. Our literacy and information levels are just too low to sustain development.

Poster, once more your topic is heavy on history but very lean on causatives. Thought you will rather dwell on the 'why's' and 'how's' we got to this state so that we can collectively stop digging.

The level of unemployment in Nigeria is high, a lot of families especially in Rivers State depend on political patronage.

You see a lecturer driving a hilux with Federal Govt number and he will say he is APC. You see another lecturer carrying a blackberry passport phone and he will say he is PDP.

Many people have been admitted to hospital over the Supreme Court case ruling between Dakuku & Wike. Some have even died and it affects both PDP and APC. This is why it's hard for government to really develop society by building new infrastructure as a lot goes into "stomach" infrastructure.
Exactly. It is getting bad and really out of hand.

I tell you. That's why Nigeria cannot succeed. Its beyond corruption. The very fabric of this nation is being torn asunder by the very peoples who should be seeking shelter underneath it. How can any sane mind wish the success and progress of this unfortunate war for ANY reason. While their brothers, sisters are being slaughtered and their resources wasted. The divisions created by ALL Nigerians will destroy this country if we do not restructure in good time. A house divided against itself CANNOT prevail against BokoHaram or any other challenge of truly national proportions.

Just fed up with this sick country and some of its silly people. We just keep stumbling from one crises to the other. We don't have enough yet we destroy the little we have. The next thing is yet more scarce resources expended on military solutions to this. Why can't the government tow the line of de-escalating conflicts. We need a state department for conflict resolution if not....

The State of the Union is getting weaker every passing year. Just how many conflicts we are able to manage is worrying.

The foreign investors will just come, look at the fixed official rate and the parallel price of a dollar to naira and shake their head.what an unserious bunch of black asses. And please all these politicians here including the president himself should abstain from discussing the economy because most of them have little or no clue about basic economics. The VALUE of a currency DOES NOT depend on your emotions or your dreams of an industrialised nigeria but on the DEMAND of the naira in the money market! The true VALUE of the naira is what is obtainable in the parallel market and not the fixed CBN official rate. There are so many people especially those nigerians living in the diaspora who have lots of foreign currencies(of course their host countries must have devalued their own currency to the dollst)to send but sees the cbn official rate as funny and unserious, hence they will keep their money waiting until the naira is OFFICIALLY devalued which is BOUND to happen sooner or later!I am still waiting to see some of you here supporting this policy that are importers of anything including raw materials or cars who have gotten the dollars easily at the official rate. The price of everything has skyrocketed in the market and the president is saying he don't want to suffer the poor masses smh
Thanks sweetheart. The strength of the CBN lies in the oil majors and right now that arm is as weak as OPEC's influence over oil prices. If the CBN cannot meet demand, IT CANNOT SET RATES.

Everyone was naming themselves Goodluck, not knowing the real meaning just illustrated by the publication. I was looking at people and marveled at the level of ignorance . people voted for him for silly reasons. Now everyone denied they never voted for him.
Nigerians including yourself are very short term thinkers. Jonathan came in pre-selected by affirmative action, to find a political solution to the niger-delta question that was threatening the socio-economic foundations of the country. Was it the right thing, perhaps, was it expedient, certainly because our economic woes will have started much earlier had we not 'bought' ourselves out of the militant onslaught. Lessons: Never let short term problems chart long term solutions. Stay focused on the big picture and build value, build institutions, build society.

Have we learned. No. We have let yet another short term problem define our path, our time and our polity. Forgetting resource control, the current issue is corruption and once again it is at the expense of our institutions, our society and our future. So its so easy to tell how this will all end. Just as it started, just as in the 80's and most certainly, with more critical, disparaging articles.

I will always say and believe, that the problem is never with the players but the game itself, never with the actors but the script. Afterall where was Jonathan in 1983. Nigerians, wake up.

You can still do that lawfully if you try hard enough but it is so easy to undermine institutions. That is why the fight against corruption will go when he goes and we will be back to square one come 2019. Wisdom entails you leave a legacy and you cannot do that if your vision does not transcend your personality. That is Buhari's weakness, his inability to build consensus and without that how do you build society.

BTW there is still corruption going on anyway so.....

Whether they devalue or not the naira will find its true value. What they are doing is handing control and initiatives to their rivals, the parallel market where real Nigerians live.
Same thing with fuel subsidy. They refused to deregulate, handed control to the cartels, threw away trillions and still deregulated. Shame. The CBN had better quit feeding these economic lions and get real. Whatever pain we are going to feel should be quick rather than a gradual, nagging descent to the abyss. They will eventually do it so why waste resources.

Mrpelumi1:
I beg you all to read this to the end, it might be of use to you!
I am actually a Young blogger and i started it in 2014 after i left secondary school... i worked for one person or another and i end up getting stories or getting scammed.. i then decided to stay on my own but nothing worked out because i bought several adsense which got disabled... just when i got an adsense account from a genuie source and i made my 2 months earnings $1300+ i got disabled again while waiting for my pin! that was in August 2015

I never loved betting, infact i hated people who do it i never knew i would fall a victim! in september 2015 my schoolmates introduced me to Bet9ja sport betting and the very first day i attempted it, i played with 1k and won N14,000 Little did i know that it was a welcome Notice! I used half of the money to buy a new pair of shoe.... and i took the rest the next day!
within 1 hour everything was taken away from me! I felt bad that day and i went back to my hostel. i kept on playing and loosing all my feeding allowances, food money, borrowed money, & hard earned money. The highest money i have ever won was 28k
Last week my uncle decided to send me 100k from USA through western Union and i decided to go and boost some of the money... i keep playing this thing not because i am addicted, but because i thought i can recover all the money i av loosed! and i see some people turn to instant millionares through bet9ja... Olamide, lilkesh, phyno and crazeclown supports it as been ambassadors to this bet companys!
I took 30k from the 100k my uncle sent to me to the bet shop last week and everything wooped away. i went to withdraw another 30k... it all went within the twinkle of an eye again... i went ahead t
o withdraw the last 40k and i only had 1k left to go back home. it sounds like i am the biggest fool of all time , but till now i cannot explain the spirit that pushed me to do so. I was just regreting and there was nothing more i could do.
Today Tought me the lesson of my Life! on wednesday my mom gave me 15k to keep for her when she travelled to ilorin she told me she was going to come back next week monday... so on thursday again, i was forced to go and play this thing.. i said within myself that i wont play with more than N1000 no matter the case only to find myself loosing the whole money as usual. then unfortunately, my mom called me that she was coming home on friday that i should get the money ready as she needs it to fuel her car and buy stuffs as she was going for a wedding i couldnt tell her anything because she trusted me and that is the only reason she gave me the money to keep! i started sending out messages to all friends on facebook 90% ignored me probably because i had one issue or another with them, i started selling all i had ...pages, groups, i even sold my phone at 3k just to raise money. finally i was able to raise N7000 ... My mom asked for her money this morning and i told her that i kept it in the bank that i was going to withdraw it from the bank... i went to bet9ja again to see if i can raise it to 15k and give her all the money without any stress. Everything went again as usual. That was when i knew that i am addicted and it is more like a curse i can break.

All i need is ADVICE! Should i forget all the money i have lost!
Yes, forget it all and turn to Jesus. Only He can save you.
