dotcomnamename:Yes. |
otunsman:See the wahala. And this is what brought down Buhari's previous term in the hot seat and any government that will go against the biggest institution in Nigeria. If you have to go as far back as the 60's for equity then be prepared to build jail houses on every street corner and employ the entire civil service as warders. Just restructure. Remove the fuel feeding the fire and move on. |
Freemanan:So it was in his previous short stinct. The Nigerian State bogs down the Nigerian Government. How can you fight something far bigger than you. |
doctokwus:Haha. Whip who into line. An organisation controlling 400,000 barrels of oil a day. Can you whip ya mama who feeds you. Big oil is a curse. |
tbaba1234:They did not do the job they were contracted to A review is not an audit. Both have differerent scopes. If they were ethical enough there should be documents PRIOR to the exercise stating clearly why they couldn't audit (at the least) and at worst quietly walk away from it all since they know what a hot, spicy, slippery salami it is. Are they hermits, don't they live in the real world, in the junglesque Nigeria and know that the NNPC is a mafia organisation apparently so big even the government shockingly cannot handle. Dis kwantry sef. |
eCollynzo:Only God can provide anything free and of value at the same time. No human can. |
MrCGPA:You guys will be on the defensive for the next four years. Truths, propaganda, lies, statistics, 'haters' will all be after you. Better grow alligator skin and book a resident doctor. |
Ojiofor:Yeah, going round and round is enough to make anyone dizzy. Rochas. Just right size your workforce to match the realities of the times. |
Bunsky:God has said pay the right price for your needs, you say no. What do you want God to do again.....so he handed them over to their delusions and to those who will exact upon them. |
GenBuhari:You are sure it is 'corruption' causing the scarcity. Hahaha. You are in for a long, rough ride. I sincerely hope you have the stomach for it. 1984 - 85 essential commodities caper loading...... Bad students of history. You will now know why Babangida introduced SAP and devalues the naira to below basement values. You better be prepared to pay constantly higher prices for energy till our economy recovers and shelve those promised lofty ecomic handouts and subsidies. Economics 101 says if you are broke you eat less and work more. Nuff said. |
sbaks:Hahaha. Dumbos are just waking up. You either take your economic destinies in your hands by paying the right price for energy or simply pass it on from the cartels to the black marketeering pirates......hahaha. |
Toludo:That is what we call deregulation. Way to go. |
chuna1985:Leaders don't change nations, people do. Those lawmakers are directly elected by the people and will do whatever the people wish. If the system doesn't work, it means the peoole donot have the capacity to organise themselves to accomplish things. Such immaturity is the reserve of slaves and the penalty is suffering. |
Xtracoool:Exactly!!!! One sweating beer for you man....oops its Sunday morning. Holy communion will do. |
nortcentrallord:See what I am saying. He had a view of corruption in 2011 that has significantly changed in 4 years. Has the corrupt or corruption changed in that time.....no. It is he who has changed. Thus by simple inference it is not corruption or the corrupt than need 'change', it is the instability of the people that needs to 'change'. Let them have a uniform standard of anti-corruption across time, place, religion, creed, interests, politically parties, ideologies, tribe, etc., then corruption will have no hiding place. Presently corruption is domicilled with the people and the APC their representatives. Their supporters will shift the posts till the tenure is over, their opponents will try as much as possible to bring it front and centre. The roles have been reversed. Oby's interview is not unexpected. Nothing has changed. |
atbu1983:Yeah, yeah. Corruption is what 'the other man is doing or has done'. That is why we say corruption CANNOT be eliminated by anyone within the viscious system called Nigeria. If you voted solely because of corruption issues in Nigeria, I'm afraid your vote is wasted. You will have rather stayed at home like me watching Discovery Channel. Once again. The best days of the APC are over. It is defensive Mourinhnesque bus parking all the way to 2019. |
kipesco:Well its the people that will determine what happens. They voted him in and will bear the consequences of the results. My guess is that they will accept whatever standards he sets. They have no choice. |
So how can lack of revenue to pay salaries be the governor's fault. What do they want him to do, steal? The reasons he can't pay are way beyond his pay grade. They are about all and affect all. His only sin is being governor. There is little almost anyone else in his shoes can do. He had been given a political mandate so ultimately it is the people not him that bear responsibility for this mess. I just refuse to join the camp of simpletons who say political appointees and even (can you imagine) infrastructural projects are to blame. Similar to what they say at the Federal level. 'Just eliminate corruption and waste and the economy will recover without realising recurrent anywhere in Nigeria always outstrips capital votes anyday. |
lagbaja:And why shouldn't electricals cost up to 300,000. This is average thinking. The right and wise approach is to find out what you are getting for a specific amount rather than question the amount itself because there is no guarantee cheaper means better value for money. When you look through the landscape of Nigerian enterprise you discover a viscious cycle of poverty caused by the failure to uphold standards. Cost should never be the most important factor. |
I suppose you mean bungalow. 3 million should be able to put a roof on it but not much more. But once again these things are every subjective. It depends on standards, quality, taste, location, environment, circumstance, etc. You can build a bird cage for a tweet, an ant hill for a loaf of bread or a sand castle for a day at the beach but you cannot build a house I will live in for that amount. |
I don't know why people complain of charges for service not rendered. If you know the thing doesn't work simply cut it off. If I am running my power plant for 18 hours a day or have not public service for such a period constantly then I simply ask them to withdraw their services till it improves to make economic sense. I don't get the complaints. Power is PRIVATISED. Competencies and liabilities have been shared across the society. Everyone is now a stakeholder. If you can power your town, if you can't power your street, if you can't power your home, if you can't power your room, if you can't power your self but by all means stop complaining and power something. |
Nothing kills faster than talent not appreciated. First it eats the soul, then the body. Even in the jungle the birds do sing. Why not in an open country called Nigeria. |
SHARIAREPORTERS:The inability of Nigerians to set unified standards for life and living, of expectations, directions and visions is the crack through which the State and its people fall. When these people see the confusion, the ethno-sectional divisions, the short term focus, memory loss, the ignorance they conclude that corruption is what the other man does. Interesting times ahead. |
Classic William Shakespear. |
The glory days. The fun in the sun days of the APC are over. I assume on Nairaland several folks are and will be changing tune and changing profiles over the next few weeks and months. Interesting days ahead. |
durosegun:You should be glad that the present regime may appear to be willing to handle such a hot political potato on behalf of the incoming one. Lets put it thìs way. Consider it political capital in the bank Buhari may spend as he pleases. He may reinstate subsidy and we will all say, 'surely he is more than John the Baptist.' |
taharqa:Doesn't it cost money to produce. These dunces feel that way because of the skewed nature of the Nigerian state and the allocation mentality of 50 years. When they hammer their mantra 'Nigeria is rich in petroleum resources' they feel the stuff is jogging on the streets looking for the nearest market. If it is so easy and cheap why is solid minerals so hard. Who wjll give up his entire village to mines and quarries for nothing. Who arrives his farm to see yams planted and sprouting. Free indeed. |
4Play:Its far too early if not I'll have given you a cold beer. But lets wait till things heat up. Nuff said about the petroleum drama. |
crownprince102:Buhari is now the President of Nigeria and the earlier he, his party and your likes, his supporters realise he will get hammered ceaselessly till 2019 the better. I am a realist to these things and you better wake up to them as well. You call them 'haters'. So did Doyin Okupe a few short weeks and months ago while Lai Mohammed called them 'critics'. The tables have turned so why complain about what you guys were doing with great relish like 'yesterday'. They say AIT is biased and neutrality is desirable. What will you say about pro APC tabloids and tv. As a matter of fact is there any country in the world without biased media. You are kidding. You have not seen anything yet. The acidity of opposing media is still juvenile in Nigeria. Just let them get into the offices, homes and personal lives of these people and see wonders. And we do need that because it is another level or layer of protection for the state and its people. We praised the APC when it took political opposition to another level, warned of the consequences of not seperating fact from fiction, persons from institutions, governance from politics. But we went ahead, the government is changed so why dismantle the few effective instruments the public has to control the machine of democracy it owns. |
buygala:Personal kwarrapshan |
You've raised the 'monkey on our backs' into a 300 pound 'subsidy' gorilla and now you say you won't feed it...and you want to sleep in the same room with two eyes closed....abeg in the morning tell me what happened if you can. |
dutchjongen:Burnt to the ground and the ashes scattered at sea you mean. |
