rudian: This just shows that our Country Nigeria is in the hands of an impotent Government, If the school fees is going to be increased, they should go right on ahead but we expect a Sound educational system, and scholarships if we are going to be scraping to pay we might as well be paying for the real deal.Serious matter. Like the proverbial chicken and egg, which comes first, payment or sound education because I'll be shocked if 500 billion in infrastructure can be delivered in one's academic sojourn thoughtless of a semester. Your payments might just be an endowment for future generations while your own certificate remains sub-standard. |
The government says it cannot pay (if not economic collapse), lecturers say they cannot continue to pay (subsidise standards) and students say they cannot pay (afford it). So whose lying. If all of us are poor then how come the product is expensive. Someone's lying. We say goverment wastes too much money on frivolities, government says lecturers are greedy (some of the highest paid civil servants), lecturers say students are too many (parents close your legs) so whose to blame. |
Education is a product and college education is a very expensive product. It has great potentials but unfortunately we don't seem to recognise its value in this country so we treat it with disdain. And I mean all stakeholders. If goverment knew the potentials of education for real and lasting transformation they will invest everything in it. If lecturers realised this too they would even put their little money into it knowing it has sure returns. And if parents and students truly understand its worth they would pay any price to acquire it. But alas everyone is waiting for everyone else to make the first move. That doesn't sound like ten hungry men around a plate of food. That doesn't look like something that has any value at all. Therein lies the problem. We have very little values as a nation. But I'm sure that when we get to the base of human existence. When we can no longer even tie our shoe laces then things will improve. So there is hope. |
nerodenero: Will you lead?Yes, I will by paying any fees or forsaking the whole thing and getting something rlse to do. University education is not the ways and means to all in life. At least that's what you can see on the streets everyday. |
when will this whole mess end?
When the average Nigerian becomes responsible and takes his destiny in his hands. |
Phiozy: ... And they should also forsee more criminals in the society else how do they want students who fend for themselves to cope? Bunch of ****** jeopardizing with the future of her youths for their own selfish interests....Crime is a choice. Has nothing to do with society. If not the politicians who loot will blame society for their actions and no one has the right to hold them accountable. |
They should not warn. They should just increase the fees, get the money and get on with it. If government will not pay, those who are stakeholders should. |
Been receiving a steady stream of woes ever since they were STB. The picture painted was one of smart-pants seeking to fleece their customers who blinked and I could never summon the courage to jump in. But believe me the experiences of the poster read like everyday business in most banks. I've had rows in all the banks where I operate. Sometimes you feel you need that initial bust up to set things straight and lay down a marker of service expectation. Just like new marraiges. |
Nothing new here. Peter cleaved the ear of one of the soldiers that came to arrest Jesus. Its hard to seperate the the zeal for God and that for the institution of the church with all its traditions, rules and every other thing Christ is supposed to set us free from. My message to the Op and others who experience these things is simple. You are there to save your life and if you find anything in church that will destroy your faith, avoid it. |
Emenike scores. The guy is becoming notorius. |
ssii: You see the reason why GEJ will never be re-elected, legalising criminality. Its so bad that people who say they are sincere Nigerians are ready to call evil good just to put GEJ in a good light. So oil theft is now resource control because your president has failed to curb it?I sincerely believe that no government present or in future will be able to stem the tide. The model of our oil ecomomy has been permanently altered. The Niger-Delta crises was never solved, peace was just morgaged and that is the bill. Simple. The whole armed forces of Nigeria cannot stop it thoughtless of one divided between insurgencies in the north which by the way is aimed at resource retention by proxy. |
For men who abuse their wives I simply regard it as foolishness of the highest order because you will never reach where God has planned for you. Your wife in your hands is like Serena Williams holding her tennis racket. If you smash it up in a fit of rage how do you win the match if that is the only racket you have. If a man KNOWS there is no way he can survive or ever make it without his wife, he simply bears anything just as Jesus Christ bears our daily tantrums. You know what God the Father used to do to people whose sin was simply grumbling. Ask Israel today what they have seen and continue to experience every day. |
carr101: Ok, notedIts okay. I've often used this crass example to describe our relationships with God in this light. A farmer goes to the market and buys a hen because he wants to raise chickens for meat and eggs. Soon he discovers that without a rooster he can't get chicks so he gets one. You sincerely think he gives a damn if the hen doesn't like the rooster and wants a career of her own. No. The farmer wants chicks periodm and thy better get down or they become barbacue. They won't eat his food for nothing. We are all created for a reason. The earlier we find out the better. God's primary desire is not your feelings. The bible is not to make us feel good but to realign our misadventire. |
carr101: Read my post again!!!The basic thing you don't understand is that the union between man and woman is/was instituted by God NOT for the fulfilment of man but for the purposes and plans of God (which Adam truncated and Jesus restored). That's why the products and processes of normal human unions are fraught with problems and pain - child birth, leadership crises, endless conflicts and like you insinuate, lack of fulfilment. A man or woman who has no purpose in God need not marry because He/She has no purpose to fulfil. No destiny to attain. That's why you struggle with the concept of marraige. Find out what God wants you to do (as opposed to what you DESIRE to do) and discover the absolute truths about biblical unions (of any kind). The very fact that you exist negates your theory because it took the union between a man and woman to produce you and the fact that you were born in much pain, blood and tears to someone should get you thinking properly. |
Afam4eva: The first Olympic of this century was hosted by Sydney in Australia and not Athen, Greece. They took it away from Athens very early on due to their slack preparations. Sydney did not have the first call. But there are certain countries that are always prepared to step in at short notice when others fail due to their experience, expertise, infrastructure and strong economy. America, Australia, Korea and now China can host any event at short notice just like South Africa is often used as an alternative host for pan african sporting events. |
Tacitly approving what these banks do to these young ladies?? Modern day slavery. What next. Fattening chambers? |
Okay guys dismiss. Let me watch my second country Brazil play Australia. See Maicon big head. Where did they dig him up from. |
What I appreciate most about this team is that they are beginning to enjoy playing for the national team. That is very important. |
sanandreas: Unimpressed. I need more goalsWhat do you need goals for. Are you punting? |
Ameobi. Lucky Brit. Might just be going to the World Cup. |
Ahmed Musa has been below par today. Rain continues to fall. Calabar. |
Jonathan is right. We should not be attacking with both wing backs. I love the Supersports set. Very nice. Hope Nigerian stations are watching. |
Lovexme: Apparently, there's a clear divide on who gave the assist to the goal. Mikel or Onazi??Oya let us vote. |
Emenike. Welcome back. |
Look Keshi, we don't need a result. Why attack with your full backs and expose yourself to counter-attacks. Poor tactics, Keshi. |
Babakenny: Which SS3? Mayb its Nigerian SS3 sha, cos the SS3 that am watching now is showing the match between Republic of Ireland VS sweden, the one they played last night. Stop foolin yourself...Perhaps you're not in Nigeria then. |
That is the key. Let the Malawians come out to decongest the back. They need the result not us. |
Moses is pure class. |
