Greatest asset this rainy season. |
What we need is the kind of cultural revolution Mao instituted in China to put an end to this so called cultural diversity that has brought us nothing but corruption, blood letting and endless development sapping feuds. If I may venture, mass basic literacy at all levels then a complete ban on the use of vernacular in public. This rubbish has got to stop. These cultural symbols are dead weights to any attempt to move this nation forward. |
And you wonder why tribalism and tribal supremacy rules unabated. Everyone scared of losing his cultural identity but rather uses it as a weapon of hate and oppresion. Who do we impress with our cultural diversity in the 21st century when the rest of the world is unifying across cultures and civilisations. Even the japanese widely considered to have the purest of cultures know how to dress to work and take life a whole lot more seriously. We have serious problems in this country. Everything wrong with the black man is represented and amplified here. |
Hmm. Pre-emptive strike. Maybe Chinda is planning to sue his sorry backside for 49.999999999 billion plus one naira. We will reach the land of sanity someday. |
REALITY101: Sir next time try jumping butt naked.Well, she still has one thing to grab but it won't be painless. |
I thought the energy sector was up for privatisation. Why is the government turning it to a money pit. Why do they want to be referee and player at the same time. Those who saw the public telecom industry piggy bank vanish overnight will not allow the power sector slip through their fingers without a final milking. |
rozayx5: and someone still believes in One NigeriaOkay, it is now we realise that there's something bigger than corruption in this country. Perhaps good, progressive governance will change a man like that. Pity. |
Hmm. Elections are coming and the new transfer season is open. APC seeks to buy unsettled Gareth Amaechi Bale for 100 million plus 1 pound. Jonathan says that his release clause demands a 100 hundred oil wells plus Fashola and Fayemi in return. Governor Peter Obi Wenger stands shaking his head at this madness. Says, 'my board led by Chairman Victor Umeh will not tolerate this wanton display of cross-carpeting. It is against the spirit INEC fair play but Robin Van Okorocha is free to go. We will replace him with one of our own from our academy. We will not be involved in this immoral amounts spent on transfers.' |
Scun: I saw this on port harcourt last year. This man is still hustling? SMHStill hustling oh while our farmers are using hoes, while our builders are using pick axes, while our garbage collector still use their hands, while we can't regularly pig our drains. And all powered with a 'I pass my neighbour plant'. Scale that thing up 5, then 10 times and you cover almost the who gamut of industrial lifting. At what cost, peanuts. Something remains fundamentally wrong with this country. Abeg if someone has his contact I don't mind giving it a shot. If it can work. |

Even the highest earning footballer no longer plays the game and rightly so in his late thirties. Before then playing for LA Galaxy and half a season for PSG. Not exactly world class. But did Real care when they signed him. No. He returned their money pronto and with interest. That Madrid President is still alive an kickin. |
This is a small-minded question often asked by those who for some reason cannot diffrentiate between football as sport and football as business hence this apples and oranges scenario. The 1950 model of any car, any automobile made at that time will cost up to ten times the value of the current model and up to a hundred times its original price (non inflation adjusted) in CERTAIN markets. Will a 1950 car out perform a 2013/14 model in any parameter, certainly not. So what makes for value? The market. In the world of football marketing Real Madrid is Kamal Khan. They are top bidders. No year goes by without a marquee signing because THEY HAVE TO. The fans demand it. The banks demand it, the press lives on it so they must have that mantle piece, that Van Gogh and they will get it/him and recoup that fee in six months because Kamal Khan doesn't ride a 2013 BMW but a 1936 Mercedes. They are not the same thing. |
Degenerative news coming out of Lagos everyday. Far cry from a few, long months ago when development was the core issue in discourse by ALL inhabitants and symptomatic of a government completely out of ideas. For once the opposition looks angelic. |
And as he drops to div 2 I expect Keshi to put him on notice. No more auto call-ups. Most pros consider their international careers when taking decisions. This looks like a desperate lunge at relevancy. Good move. |
InvertedHammer: This is all nonsense!Well MB isn't building cars primarily for the oil sheikhs of Nigeria but the poor peasants of Europe who pay upwards of N 250 per litre equiv. It matters to them and they'd learn the new gearbox cos their bank balance depends on it. |
Get your facts right; Built by the famed transmission maker ZF, the newest transmission in the Mercedes lineup is called the 9G-Tronic, and it represents the first 9-speed auto available on the mass market. Although the 9-speed 2014 Jeep Cherokee and Range Rover Evoque are not far behind. Though the 9G-Tronic unit leaves the E350 Bluetec’s 0-60 time untouched at 6.6 seconds. http://www.tflcar.com/2013/07/news-mercedes-benz-to-introduce-9-speed-automatic-on-2014-e-class-models/ Now come down to details; A 2013 lexus GS350 is AWD & RWD and can run 0 to 62mph is 5.6sec and it is in the same category as the merc e-class. The 3977-pound all-wheel-drive GS350 hustled to 60 mph in a respectable 5.6 seconds; the 133-pound-lighter, rear-drive GS350 F Sport shaved a 10th from that figure. The F Sport reached the quarter-mile mark in 14.1 seconds at 102 mph, besting the all-wheel-driver by 0.2 second and 3 mph. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2013-lexus-gs350-awd-gs350-f-sport-test-review
The primary reason for this development is efficiency period and not speed. The aim is to shift gears while keeping the rev bar as low as possible. Which means it will get to 60mph a second and a frac behind your super cars but save you a cup of diesel by the time you get home. If you want speed Merc has gullwings to take you on. |
The South-South or ND should be left alone. It is merely undergoing the same phase-change the South-West experienced in the Fourth Republic. At the end of this cycle the region will emerge stronger, more focused and on an even keel towards development having moulded proper leadership qualities from this frothy mix of combatants. That is if Wole and his disciples donot vent the oven while the dough rises. Let the ND sort out itself and emerge the better for it. That region deserves it. The rest of Nigeria had better pray that this process runs its course and that strong, focused and determined leadership emerges. Because quite frankly your livelihoods and that of your children to come depend on it. |
Hmm. Whether solid mace or gaseous mace, lawmakers and law enforcers are on target. No worries. In the paradise to come the blind shall see and the lame shall walk but only if the dumb talks first. |
Congrats to Keshi. Significant milestones are becoming a habit of his. This ticket is a vindication of his hitherto controversial decision to build the senior team on home grown talents. I wish him the best going forward, in his quest to become the most succesful national team manager black or white. |
The Bourne Trilogy. Dunno why but the way Vosen stared at his phone after this... Bourne: ...where are you now. Vosen: ,..I'm sitting in my office... Bourne: I doubt that. Vosen: Why would you doubt that. Bourne: If you're in your office right now we'ed be having this conversation face to face... |
CFCfan: The national carrier will be a merger of some airlines. The FG will only have a 25% share in the airline.I tell you for whatever reason government puts money into 'a business' cannot be a good thing. You know sometimes we just feel good about these things because they don't concern us. But can you imagine government tacitly trying to run a business in the area of your or my interests. Ir it an acknowlegment or statement that the industry has collapsed or is collapsing. If government wants the industry to grow it can stimulate it through banks (good credit), if it has industry wide technical or managerial problems it can address them by seconding experts but it should not be 'investing' in business. The US government offered incentives to its citizens to buy cars, it offered 'credit' to two of the big three automakers but never at anytime did the government contemplate making cars. The SLS CBN was lauded for bringing stability to the banking industry but one thing kept people on edge, the fear of re/nationalisation of banks. No one accepts that. So what is the problem in the airline industry that makes government feel it can run Lagos-Abuja or Lagos-London. Is the headache Arik, Aero and IRS giving us any different from Dangote Cement, MTN, Oando, MRS or Honeywell. |
CFCfan: It will likely take-off late next year, but will be registered in September this year.Government has no business in business. They should face their primary responsibility of organising society, organising markets, creating competition and not participating neither creating products. How can you ever boost the private sector both local and foreign (investment wise) when the supposed umpire is a player. Worse still, We've had two national carriers before. Ten years down the line we will be talking of the fourth one after yet another record breaking round of squander mania. They will come in, mess up the whole industry, fail and leave the private sector grasping at rebuilding from scratch down the line yet again. All they need do is build the airports and man the radars, period. Anyone who wants to fly should buy his aircraft. If there are industry wide issues of funding, consumer protection, standards, policy then a watch dog like the NCC should be established. Bottom line, if we want service we must be ready to pay for it. Government is not just good at this. |
ManTiger: Good Old days, Gabriel Batistuta...Van Basten. Thomas Hassler, who could go up and down in the 18 yard box. The days of exceptional freekicks are gone. All you have now are long range dip, swerve occasioned by FIFA's ball tampering. |
Real 'Gangs of NewYork'. Pity. |
Oga Pastor your daughter is 24years of age and was attending a college of sorts so she's old and should be literate enough to decide what she wants. I think the matter here is your pride as a clergyman and what society thinks but the truth is that biologically and scripturally you have missed the opportunity to keep her on the straight and narrow. As an adult that has a 'functional' soul there is not much you can do without God's help so go back to where you have missed it and ask for help. You need serious help here because if your girl is 'influenced' as you say, a physical fight may result in her total loss, your loss or mutually assured destruction. Beware. |
Well she makes a living from pottery so why the tears when a little mud sticks. |
Ha, ha. Make Bash Ali link up with Vince McMahon. Na im sabi organize shambolism. Na for Nairaland I even hear say the palle na legend. Abeg any sponsor must prepare to face case of criminal negligence resulting in manslaughter if e go bring real opponent. If you doubt me ask AEG and late 50 year old Michael Jackson. |
Serious failures all round by the government. Time for introspection in the presidency. Nothing more to say about this unfortunate and unnecessary waste of lives. |
Shuga jay: Na poverty cause am!!That's what I mean. Pathetic excuse. If it was the other way round you'd even hear about how all men are animal reincarnates. |
Goldenboy007: See how the story just enter low profile, just few comments -Gender hypocrisy. None of the comments by the ladies made attempts to discredit the lady. Some even called the dead man a fool. |
Very complex indeed. Very surprised informed decisions couldn't be taken after 8 years of courtship. More information is needed before I can grasp the problem but one thing for sure, men should not beat their wives and no one should remain in an abusive relationship. |
