Did business with the man when I lost someone a while ago. Charming man and came across as a consumate professional. Sad loss. May God grant his family the fortitude to bear this loss that is beyond words. |
Rejoice5000: I saw people that jam packed themselves in most of the banks in bayalsa state while coming back from work yesterday evening,i kept asking my self what were they doing during the day that made them not to go to banking hall ad withdraw their money.as 4 me am a Banker no emergency always with money. |

And you are a banker I see. So what is your response to this 'crises'. 'what are they doing there...' As for ME, as a banker I always have cash. Whether this was a light-hearted response to the matter or not, it smacks of crass judgement and a total disregard for one's profession and disdain for those who keep it. I'm sorry to say so but when the politician views and uses his office in this regards we cry murder but this viscious cycle of selfishness must stop. I did not use an ATM yesterday and hardly use one but when I read things like these I think of the countless people who perhaps needed cash fast to purchase hospital drugs or bail themselves out of tight situations. Let us be solution providers and objective critics. |
So his remains have FINALLY ARRIVED location XYZ. This is the burden of fame or should I say infamy. So much death, so much blood. What a waste. The culture of worshiping the dead and the business of death in parts of Nigeria has reached crises levels. I just wonder when the bells and whistles will begin to go off in our minds. Pity. |
kilokeys: Bro . Enjoy Ur course just get good grades. I hve n uncle. He read philosophy and worked as HRM in shell till he retired. Nd here am I with B.eng in engineering and HSE level 3 and still job-hunting. Times have chnged bro. And u might get lucky. Well its grace sha.Yeah, yeah. Its all about the money, wage pack, college degree just to join the rat race. Might as well study: 'how to get the best salary', if colleges offer such a course. |
DICKtator: WHat you can use it to do? You can use it to THINK!!!!!!Exactly. Issues that tower over those ancient Greek gods and make light work of those awesome monstrosities like why will a Nigerian spend 60 million naira to wave goodbye to the departed when he can't even pay his workers wages regularly. What is it in the air we breath or the water we drink, or the food we eat or the bugs that bite us that debases our mentality and humanity so badly. Oya start. People need help. Our society needs help. Remember. You can only succeed when you make others succeed. |
A heck lot. For starters. Try to find out what is wrong upstairs with the people of this country. Succeed and you will open any vault. |
Alwaystrue: @kingk,Oh, this is sweet dearie. By trusting, believing and responding (faith), righteousness is inputed to us. By living a life like this we just discover we have fulfilled and exceeded all the law ever requires. You know what. By faith you can never go wrong even when it looks as if the law might be broken. Afterall was it not God who told Abraham to offer us Isaac as a sacrifice when God knew His law stood against this. And to show the depth of righteousness Abraham operated in the Bible says he believed that had it happened, God would have raised Isaac again from the dead. You cannot do that hanging onto laws. This is confidence based on a sound relationship with He who is tasking you. When God wants to do big stuff not even his laws can stop him. He is not bound by laws but by His Word, His honour. |

kingk: John13 vs 34 A new COMMANDMENT (LAW) I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. You need to know these personalities properly to function in this kingdom effectively. Jesus is the Word (made flesh. Flesh flesh 2000 years ago. The Scriptures today.) The Father is the Creator, God Almighty. He is the origin. The ONLY one WHO CAN MAKE LAWS because He cannot be subject to laws. What Jesus was doing there was stating what God gave Moses to relate, period. If I say today 'love your neighbour as yourself' does it make it my law? Jesus wasn't making new laws. Merely reminding His audience (primarily Jews) of what kind of yoke they carry. There are no new laws. |
kingk: Please what do you really understand by being under the law?...........jesus also obeyed the law, he also gave us his laws, then tell me if you don't do the laws of christ because of grace, how then will you boast of righteousness......and if you keep christ laws, will say then that you're under the law?And what do you mean by 'Christ's Laws'. |

Once again righteousness cannot be attained by obeying the law but by faith. Christianity is a relationship not a 'religion'. Jesus was righteous because of His relationship with God. I and the Father are... I do nothing of my own. As I hear so I... This sounds like a relationship rather than striving to accomplish what is written on a piece of paper you know you can never attain in this world. |
shdemidemi: It remains a miracle how people miss the gospel of Christ or mix it with that of the law. Apostle Paul through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit presented a gospel that imputed righteousness apart from the law. A righteousness separate from the law but mankind would fight all they can to allude righteousness to themselves. |

Apostle Paul through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit presented a gospel that imputed righteousness apart from the law. A righteousness separate from the law but mankind would fight all they can to allude righteousness to themselves. You're totally right. Christianity is not a practice nor a religion, it is a relationship, a fellowship where God wants you around the sofa not the conference table and certainly not across the dock. Relax, you can never wow God. He has seen it all and knows your end from the beginning. Just abide. He loves us, rejoices in our faith, is upset by our failures, hates sin intensely and wants us to have no part of it. Now if the knowledge of the Law is the document of our condemnation and God wants us to survive, He had to bail us out. The process of doing so on a constant basis is grace. |
kingk: Wow! Bro thanks but what does this bible verse explain with being righteous Gen15:6 And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness. Now I believe righteousness is from what we do, when you do what's right, you're righteous.......also we're not called to be righteous but unto Holiness.Righteousness is a product of faith. It is a REWARD for doing what God says. And believe me it is a very thin line. It is NOT a state thus it may surprise us that you cannot be righteous by observing the law, i.e. Studying the bible or attending church or 'doing what the bible says' or doing our church ordinances and traditions, etc. Righteousness is task specific. Since it is a reward or credit, there has to be a demand, order by God specifically. Remember the rich man who met Jesus with an impressive CV of biblical achievements, one tasking alone by Jesus knocked him off. Proving that Righteousness is not an offering but a response to a specific demand by God. So we need faith to attain righteousness. |
I think to handle this matter properly with all these biblical passages flying here and there it is important to consider what practical effect it is having on your Christ experience, your sojourn, your journey. What is grace doing to/for you. Is it a ticket, gate pass, court affidavit, millstone, deatht warrant, blue print, manual, mantle-piece certificate of authenticity. What is grace for? |
Grace is simply grace which is the nature of God. It is the natural love He has that simply yearns that we be reconciled back to Him AT ALL COST. So he expends everything to buy, impress, cajole, scheme, whatever. That is his nature. On this side, the truth is some will never be reachable, some will never be impressionable, some will window shop but God Almighty will always try. Jesus exemplified it. He said of a shepherd who's given no sleep to his eyes until he finds that one lost sheep. That is love and grace in action. Whether we respond or not is another matter. As long as the earth remains God will fight to the very end. End of the world or the end of man's life. Now when Paul was speaking saying that should we continue to sin that grace may abound. What I think he was trying to lighten is the regulatory role of our conscience in holiness. That if we continue to abuse grace we risk burning out our conscience (which is the Holy Spirit's link to our soul), then we will not be able to recover and that is when death is certain. Please I look at scriptures not lawfully but practically seeking to know the mechanisms by which things work. What we do has nothing to do and can never affect God's nature. He is grace. What we do affects us. |
Pie in the Skysports. Have they opened a section called Oddly Enough. |
Rossikk: It is not the only five star hotel in Nigeria.Dunno bout dis but which oda one na? |
I've watched the affairs of Nigeria for quite a while and it is clear to me that we are yet to attain nationhood. When have you ever seen a leader, any leader galvanise Nigerians as a people, like a call to arms, nationalistic rhetoric that will weld the people towards a common vision, a common objective. Since independence, none. Every leader from the first day in office assumes a defensive, bunker like posture because even in the hey days of military totalitarianism your deputy would have his gun trained on the back of his head. We simply donot know how to build our society. We simply donot know that our fortunes lie in collective responsibility and that leaders originate from followers so there is always a disconnect. Thus they cannot reach us as tools, building blocks of the nation. It is always us versus them. Every government, every regime, every office holder, even those we saw on the streets yesterday. Its time we forge consensus about how we wish to build this country setting aside for once our well engrained sentimental attachments that does not permit common sense from one community to the other thoughtless of from Bornu to Badagry. GEJ may be there after 2015 or not. The way we are going it will change nothing if we cannot be led. For the next person will still come from amongst us. |
Doesn't bother me. He remains the best man for the job and a strong agent for change in this country. Today most people use yardsticks of articulation and performance but when push comes to shove in choosing who the next president is almost everyone goes sentimental and the real Nigerianess comes out. If there is a single elected office holder voted purely based on performance I would like to know. In all honesty there isn't. That is because what really matters in Nigeria when we crawl back to bed is our own selfish, parochial interests that finds ready expression in tribe and religion. We are just a nation of pretenders. Media chat my foot. |
malc619: GEJ is saying corruption isn't really the major problem in Nigeria..It isn't even amongst the top three. Corruption is just the symptom of a greater malaise no one has the courage to address. |
Ignatio: Those that are asking delivered from what don't you pay attention during service? What else do MOGs deliver people from?I attend service but you tell me. Delivered from or of what. |
bodejohn: ...wouldn't notice it, I have been living off grid power for 9months, yes 9months, I celebrated 48hrs uninterrupted power supply like a week ago...presently on a test run of 5 days uninterrupted supply. That's what I want to hear. What's your game. |
The Prem's ultra competitive so far this season. Looks like a top 6 scenario. Hope it stays that way and not like Spain, Germany and France where you have Usain Bolt and pacesetters. |
luvola: A win for Liverpool will place them on second position . Pls rodgers dnt start that selfish sturridge .So, after your persistent grumbling what da ya say now. Anyway glad you're not the gaff. |
Can you prove your statement. If MAN wrote the bible, and we all know MAN lies, please tell me why anyone should believe what MAN wrote? A lot of things have been twisted and lies told just to get people to believe. Again, please tell me how you know everything that was written actually happened because I find it hard to believe that those that wrote it are saints.
Then write your version and let's see how easy it will be to add, subtract, modify, modernise or anything you desire and then get it accepted as the 'WORD'. Don't you think that with all the advancement in the arts and sciences the bible would have been swept aside and replaced by a socially correct epistle. The truth is that it is not possible. The Bible tells us how it was written, by whom and when. It is open, nothing hidden. It speaks about us not some alien on Pandora. |
obadiah777: i would tell you what the fish represents but to break it down seeing as the book of jonah is 4 chapters deep would require a herculean effort. but the fish represents the roman empire. You can infer anything out of the Word rightly or wrongly but the questions still stands. Did the content of these texts actually happen in life, time and space. The answer I believe is yes. If you told Pontius Pilate that you are communicating with a group of faceless people on social media with a handheld device in real time, he'd probably order your designer cross for heresy. The natural mind unable to handle things does nothing to negate their existence. |
The Bible is not a work of fiction. It is both historical and inspirational. Everything recorded actually happened. The products of visions, trances and the likes are clearly stated. |
Cajetan speaks: IYANYA is in nassarawa state not FCT...... Oh. Thought he was performing in Portharcourt this weekend...my bad. |
Why not. After kick-back, kick-front, kick-side, kick-away now kick-bucket. Only a rat will eat his house to collapse. Only a rat will eat until the house buries his future generation. If you visit most public buildings know this. What you see is all there is. |
United is like a mortally wounded lion in the savannah. Once the fear factor is gone believe me the Premiership will eat them alive. It is important that they donot let their shoulders drop during this transition that all teams great and small will have to face at some stage. Life is like a formula one race. At some stage you have to come in for gas and new tyres while the competition passes by. But eventually everyone breaks too. The fortunes of the great clubs of yester-years are a stark reminder of this eventuality, this reality. Liverpool, Internazionale, Hamburg, Nottingham Forest and many more hitherto exceptional, imperious champions had all experienced declines, few rebounded, others did not. United should stick to its values. Best of luck to you guys. |
