Ishilove: Morning Reference. I'm a walking mass of aches this fine sunday morning but the Lord be praised! |
Ishilove: You can do the both if you have the energy. After some serious, spirit filled praise, worship and prayers, you move to the holy, gangster consummation chap chap!Morning Ishi, how's this sunday shaping. |
Stop bringing emotion into Christianity. There is a reason Jesus came and died for us. To put an end to these so called sacrifices that He detests. You can NEVER impress God. No man can. You are saved by GRACE not by works so that you cannot accuse God tomorrow and lower Him to your standards. Stop all these performance based religious doctrines that get you no where. God ONLY honours HIS WORD. Has the word said so. Have you been specifically asked by God for that sacrifice because God will only honour/reward obedience not feelings or assumptions. |
esere826: ^^^That's why they call it the vulcanizer business, inflate and poof! Patch up and inflate again. The world over its one big ponzi scheme but hey, we love musical chairs too. |
The final choice resides with you but you can now appreciate the problems you have been piling up. First, you have only lived 3 days in the north. May I ask why. In the intervening period why haven't you bothered to discover your country outside of Nairaland for yourself. And to make matters worse you now seek a comfort zone outside your present one. My man divine providence has given you the platform to become a true Nigerian, maximize your potentials and become all you should be. Ask Dangote what he would be if he remained in comfy Kano and not ventured to wild, stressful Lagos. Don't know your dress code but you can start with a kaftan. Leave your comfort zone. Nuff said. |
Millionjeff: Ibori should have been sentence to life in imprisonment, for those bloody crimes he committed.for those who is bringing ethnic colouration and still cocoon in clannish orientation should bury their heads in shame. And if all of you continue with this attitude,it may never be well with you.am not laying curse on anybody.am simply given impetus to universal truth about sowing and reaping principle.Don't worry. We will weigh your zeal and patriotism when the burning bush arrives your door step. All and I mean all present and past governors including yours and mine have stolen and are stealing and missappropriating as we speak. Ibori goes to jail, fine. What are you doing about the one stealing from your pocket, doesn't matter. Abeg free the guy. The average Nigerian is sectional. |
Just left at half time and returned to see what!!. Where are those Barcaholics who thought the show will run and run. Tell ya. Nothing lasts for ever and the higher you climb the harder you fall. I think Barca has a habit of setting records. New one today. Oh my what happened this forthnight. |
Serious stuff. The germans are privatising european soccer. Abeg make dem sell small shares give spain na. |
romanlaw: did i see 29 BILLION? chai!! tinubu don hammer for this one oh!! but when will they build one in Isolo, Ejigbo, Ikotun, Egbeda, Iyana - Ipaja etc......are they not part of Lagos. everything is Ikoyi, LekkiThat is how development comes. Sorry to say so but Lekki and Ikoyi are more important than some of those places you mentioned. It doesn't take rocket science to deduce that you invest more where you earn more. Am sure the government is looking at its tax receipts and earnings futures and seeks to secure that. Whenever I get to Lagos and watch the daily mass exodus to and fro the Island/Peninsula I myself wonder but that's the reality. That's where the money is. That's where investors will identify with. That is the show case of Lagos. Then I drive around Lagos famous for its numerous boutiques both high and low class sparkling with beauty, bright lights, sumptous decor and it gets me thinking. Do these guys who own these places really live like this. Are their homes this flash, no. Of course not. If you spend more money on your home than your office, factory, farm, shop, etc then you must be a fraudster, robber, typical government philanderer or political jobber. People simply invest their prime dollar where they can get it back. And this leads to the conclusion. Those who will use the bridge are those who are able and willing to use it. Take it to those places you mentioned and risk the 'Arizona' treatment. The funds generated from the tolls can be ploughed into less privileged areas. That model cannot work the other way round. |
I am very impressed and happy it is being tolled so that the burden of the enormous cost is shared. I hope this serves as a model to other states and arms of government that if you mean it you will deliver. I hope the good people of Lagos state name the edifice after Fashola when his time in the public eye is done. He has done very well for the state. For those globe trotting for foreign investors foolish enough to set up shop in their dump site this is a wake up call. Know this. You call 999 - emergency services when their is hope. You call the morgue when there is none. |
A few of these have appeared on stage with varying degrees of success but I think the picture looks good enough to make the transition only if the stronghold behind the Nigerian movie industry will permit creative script writing to thrive. They've so wound up and cornered their captive audience to their level of mediocrity that such movies if ever made may not do well at the box office. These days its all about on screen personalities rather than the star power that comes from perfectly presenting an outstanding script. So I feel its the industry that's not ready not the paucity of good stories. I could remember several years ago as a kid reading every single book in the pacesetter series (which is lightweight writing anyway) and imagining them on screen. Today you won't even see the books anymore. That's the depth of decadence. |
So, so funny responses to Seun's affront. Such pent up fury. Folks, the degree of emotions displayed here does not give me any confidence whatsoever that you guys are truly on top of your game. In this game, emotion and distraction are two parts of the high tower you must scale. Pity. |
patholaw: most of the pix are photoshoped....Exactly or some inorganic enhancements. I won't be surprised if a few have had surgical implants. |
ade2008: When anachy is the order of the day solution wil gradually come. It is we ourself that is going to clean this country from this mess. Too much gentlemanliness is always taken for granted. kudoo to themAnd you just wish, dream this can be extended to other arms of government and the political class in general rather than waiting for prince sparky in shining armour. My people the only thing holding this country captive is free money from crude. If we lived and died by tax income our slave masters will have become proper servants. |
ArQueBusieR: Arizona?! lolHe, he. Abi oh. Why not almighty Texas. "Hang em high until their feet stop kickin". |
biolabee: fergie does no favors brahYeah, perhaps doesn't need to. Can see the gunner's accidental discharged. Perfected the art of shooting oneself in the foot. |
Sheguama: Yeye dey smell!!!!!!Yeah. Arsenal has helped United keep Pool out of the top four in the past. Perhaps United's returning the favour to keep the noisy north London neighbours out of the top four association. Just musing. |
manny4life: Banning truck, trailers and heavy duty trucks is not only silly but economically dangerous to a growing economy like Nigeria. Isn't it those trucks that deliver good to you every morning? Here's a simple scenarioThanks. Someone's thinking here. When Lagos state government woke up one morning and announced a ban on trucks and articulated vehicles I just thought to myself wow. That's the state's GDP cut in half. It means little or no fuel, no goods, poor services and even EKO Atlantic will take decades more to complete. Massive numbers of people will simply leave the construction, haulage, manufacturing, petroleum industries leading to higher costs in hiring batmen. |
Oda countries transport dangerous and flamable liquid substance thru d rails and even if u c dia tankers or trailers, u wud know that they are even more road worthy than som personal clean vehicles ownd in our country. How can a trailer run for over 40 or 50 yrs and they allow them 2 kip on killin.
He, he, he. Chai. You can do better than this nau. How many gas stations have rail links. Op. The logistics involved is just massive. We didn't get to this point overnight. From the location of gas stations, decayed distribution infrastructure, investment policy, crime, regulatory and enforcement lapses, etc need to be addressed before any ban can be considered. For now we simply cannot afford a ban. It is impossible to distribute the enormous quantities of pet.products we consume daily in a six or twelve hour window. And by the way when they say support deregulation to stimulate investment while cutting wasteful imports we say no. We want abundant, cheap gas. So. |
Sweetapple007: Nigerian men re the ones encouragg their wives ad babes to dress indescent, these ladies want to appease the men ad those men encourage them wit praise, the situation is already out of hand. You always hear this lie peddled about. I don't know of any man that will permit his wife or child walk around naked. Girlfriend to which he has no comitment, perhaps. Some ladies believe this lie. Ask them to truthfully say where it comes from and you discover that its source is a warped mind, peer pressure or modern media acting on behalf of sordid interest groups. If any man orders or approves of your public n.u.d.i.t.y then the relationship is over. You've transited from a being to a product or posession. |
The face in the picture looks like the one I saw several years ago that someone who should know confirmed as being that of the masq. Though he appears to have lost some weight but has definitely aged. Then I didn't miss his shows at his place along Opebi rd, Lagos. |
CFCfan: The bolded is not entirely accurate. The Golden eaglets of 2003, crashed out in the group stage of the Finland U-17 world cup. However, Mikel Obi is still very much a prominent member of the Super EaglesHe is not playing better now than he did then. Review the tapes again and see what won him the silver ball in 2005. You will not believe the difference between him then and now. |
I disagree. We had the better PLAYERS, but not the better team... Atleast not yet. If we're all to be honest with ourselves, the Eaglets started getting pretty selfish during the knockout games - their match with Tunisia was clear evidence. Everybody wanted to shine; everybody wanted to look cool; everybody wanted to impress that English Premier League Club scout secretly lurking in the audience. Even that move from Nwakali was an attempt at being badass which eventually didn't turn out as he had hoped. But all the same, we should understand - These guys are still very young. As the years pass, so shall their team spirit and maturity increase. There's a lot of potential here. The force is strong with them.
If you've watched Nigerian football properly over the years you'd realise teamwork and team spirit peaks at the U17 level and declines proportionally to maturity. The best teams this country has ever produced are always in the junior cadre. Anyone and any team that doesn't do well at this level has practically no hope moving forward. This is not europe or south america. As a poser. Can you name one, just one player who has or is playing better in the Super Eagles than he did at U17 or U21 level, but the yellow pages are filled with great players who never made the transition. |
We did everything possible to throw away this match. Gave away a cheap goal, conceeded a needless red card and capped it with a disgraceful penalty kick. What can I say. I don't usually get emotional about soccer but this was a poor, poor performance, period. |
We can safely say that the Nigerian midfield only exists on the coach's notepad. |
He only succeeded in carding himself. Wow, two footed. Ref, in Europe that is an airtel call. |
Nigerian team is ordering chances I hope they don't pay for. |
Ivory Coast score off a defensive mix up. |
That wasn't offside. By the way is the match being played behind closed doors or wot. |
Nigeria in a cup final and it makes front page after twelve minutes. What the heck is goon ere!! |
