Read that story too, it is strange that no major newspaper or tv station carried that report. Dan's facebook status update yesterday said he is in the US on vacation and would be back soon. Besides, Dan is legally married to a Nigerian woman and has a baby by her. Under our laws, that grants him almost automatic citizenship. If indeed he was deported, then he will be back soon. All he needs to do is reapply officially and the immigration peeps would have no choice but to grant his request. |
She is a very piss-poor actress, but she is quite pweety. Guess it was her looks and not her acting prowess that got her the roles in the first place. She's no different from more than half of nollywood actors and actresses, good looking but poor role interpreters. |
Methinks this lady is beginning to take this her "Omosexy" swagger too seriously. See how she was trying to shake her over-sized rump in this video. The video looked like an old shalamar or kool and the gang video. Maybe that was the concept sha, ![]() Ok don't mind me o!!! I jus dey find trouble. I think she looks great after four kids. She sure can act. But sing and dance That's another thing all together, ![]() |
Shege!!! Dis one na moto abi na aloplane ![]() |
Nice song. Ok video. Great album. I am a rock head and I have heard worse and seen worse videos from western artistes. I agree he needs to improve on his sound quality but that is nothing a good editor cannot correct. He has evolved his own style and to me that is what is important. I hope he keeps getting better. |
Jim Iyke no try at all. Perhaps if he had given Tuface more time to spit lines on the track, the song would have made more sense. Jim should stick to the movies abeg!!! |
@ Poster Guess we'll not know how credible you are until the awards hey? ![]() |
Nope! Catholics are not Christians, they are Catholics, ![]() |
If Jesus Christ could turn down an offer from the devil to possess the whole, methinks it is not impossible for a true Nigerian pastor (and believe me, there are quite a few in Nigeria) to turn down 10 Billion. As an aside, I never stop wondering how threads that call into question the integrity of Christians keep making the front page. Just wondering, |
@ perfect buy Kia Optima V6 nko? How much? |
@ Poster Are we talking about the same Ojo Maduekwe aka AGIP (Any Government in Power) aka Political Prostitute aka Abacha-must-stay-or-I-will-kill-myself?!!!! That same Ojo or another one? Is this a joke !!! Anyway I agree with you on one point; he is very smart; Smart enough to know never to even attempt to run for governor of Abia not to talk of Nigerian President. |
Very good work. Can't wait for the next installment. |
Sadly, word out is that she and CB are an item again. Reuters reports that they are holed up in P Diddy's house sorting out their differences. Methinks this is a clear endorsement of physical abuse and I hope she gets what is coming to her. ![]() |
I just discovered soundcity on dstv 133. Good to know we now have a Nigerian all music channel on the international scene. |
Is this car on ground in Naija? If it is I am very interested. |
Nne sorry I didn't respond since. I went to Bauchi on assignment and I have been outta circulation since. U got mail, |
Jenifa!!! Wondered what all the hype was about so got me a copy and settled down to it. Finished watching it in about 15 minutes with my finger constantly on FFWD. A few laffs here and there; nothing new or special here just the cliched and archetypal villager in the city role duplicated in several home videos. The film marketers did a fantastic job packaging this load of crap for sale and actually fooling a lot of us into buying. The part 2 was an absolute no-brainer. Definitely not the worst home video I have seen. But going by the noise pre and post release, I expected a lot more. I seriously await Kelani's "Arugba" |

Killer ‘mistook Dube for a Nigerian‘ Johannesburg – Reggae star Lucky Dube was shot dead because one of his assailants thought he was a Nigerian national, the High Court here heard yesterday. Mpho Maropeng, wife of Thabo Maropeng, whose charges have since been dropped, said that on the day of Dube‘s death four men including her husband had driven to Rosettenville. This was according to information related to her by Thabo a day after the incident. She said Thabo told her what had happened after receiving a call from one of the accused, Mbuti Mabe, telling him to watch a television broadcast showing Dube‘s death. “I was also watching , they were showing Lucky Dube singing, (then) a vehicle which had crashed into a tree.” Her husband then told her what had led up to the shooting. When she asked Thabo why the men had shot Dube, she told the court he said Mabe had told him: “He did not see it was him (Dube). He thought it was a Nigerian.” Mabe, Sifiso Mhlanga and Julius Xowa, all in their 30s, are on trial for the murder of Dube outside his brother‘s house in Rosettenville, southern Johannesburg, on October 13, 2007. The case continues today. – Sapa http://www.theherald.co.za/herald/news/n11_04022009.htm http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=134945 What a shame. Stumbled on this lady's video on Youtube. Methinks its great stuff. Gotta bit of Tracy Chapman's flavour to it. Her name is Ibiyemi and this is her first single "Can You Love Me" Enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEVvQDXDwjI |
This ride looks very clean. But Chief methinks this whip is RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. You may want to consider a drastic downward review. Good luck. |
Credit crunch massacre: Father shoots his wife, five children and himself dead after being fired from hospital job By David Gardner Last updated at 11:19 AM on 28th January 2009 • Comments (40) • Add to My Stories A father shot his wife and five young children to death, then committed suicide after the couple were fired from their hospital jobs. Ervin Lupoe posted a suicide note on a California TV station website before going on his killing spree. He claimed his wife had agreed everyone should die and added: 'Why leave our children in someone else's hands.' Enlarge Massacre: A family portrait of the Lupoe family - Ervin Lupoe has been identified as the father who shot dead himself and his whole family Enlarge Tragedy: The five Lupoe children were eight-year-old Brittney, centre, her five-year-old twin sisters Jaszmin and Jasseley, back, and two-year-old twin boys Benjamin and Christopher, front 'This was a financial- and job-related issue that led to the slayings,' said Los Angeles Deputy Police Chief Kenneth Garner. 'It's a grisly scene.' KABC-TV alerted the police after receiving the letter yesterday. Moments later an emergency call centre received a call from a man who said: 'I just returned home and my whole family's been shot.' Officers rushed to the home in Wilmington, a small community between the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, about 8.30am, apparently within minutes of the killings. Officers could still smell the gunshot residue in the air. Although the note asserted that Lupoe's wife, Ana, helped plan the killings, detectives said confirmed the father was the only suspect. A revolver was found next to his body. Enlarge Los Angeles County coroner workers take the body of one of the family members away in Wilmington last night The police help evacuate a family living next to the home where the shootings took place Ana Lupoe's body was found in an upstairs bedroom with the bodies of the couple's twin two-year-old boys. The bodies of an eight-year-old girl and twin girls aged five were found alongside Ervin Lupoe's in another bedroom. All had been shot in the head, some multiple times, Coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter said. The killings may have occurred between Monday evening and early yesterday, according to neighbours. Ervin Lupoe removed three of the children from school about a week and a half ago, saying the family was moving to Kansas. Crescent Heights Elementary School headmistress Cherise Pounders-Caver said nothing seemed to be troubling Lupoe at that time. She did not ask why the family was moving. Credit crunch killing: The home where the family were found shot dead Kaiser Permanente Medical Center West Los Angeles released a statement confirming both Lupoe and his wife had worked there; both were medical technicians. 'We are deeply saddened to hear of the deaths of the Lupoe family,' it said in a statement. In his letter, Ervin Lupoe claimed he and his wife both had been fired and that she suggested they kill themselves and their children, too. It indicated that Lupoe and his wife had been under investigation for misrepresenting their employment to an outside agency in order to obtain childcare. He claimed that an administrator told the couple on December 23: 'You should not even had bothered to come to work today you should have blown your brains out.' The couple complained to the human resources department and eventually were offered an apology but two days later the Lupoes were fired, according to the letter. Never seen anything like it: Deputy Chief Kenneth Garner spoke to the press after police discovered the massacre 'They did nothing to the manager who stated such and did not attempt to assist us in the matter, knowing we have no job and five children under 8 years with no place to go. So here we are,' the note said. At the bottom of the note, Lupoe wrote, 'Oh lord, my God, is there no hope for a widow's son?' The Kaiser Permanente statement made no comment on the claims in Lupoe's fax. 'It looks like they might have had grounds for his termination , it wasn't that he was laid off as a result of the economic situation,' police Capt. Billy Hayes said. Lupoe's fax identified his children as Brittney, eight; five-year-old twins Jaszmin and Jassely; and twins Benjamin and Christian, ages two years and four months. The portrait of Lupoe remained partial. His 83-year-old grandmother, Josephine Lupoe, said he was largely consumed by work. 'Every time I called him, he was at work,' she told the Los Angeles Times. 'He worked all the time.' Lupoe had been at the West Los Angeles hospital about ten years, and Tuesday's events shocked co-workers, said emergency services employee Vic Tuvera, 58. 'We saw him happy,' Tuvera said. 'I knew him as a good person and a good worker.' Ana Lupoe, a medical technician, was remembered as 'a sweet lady. Always smiling with everybody,' said Hamlet Narvaez, 40, a Kaiser transportation worker. She was 'always talking about the kids,' he added. In 1994, Lupoe was charged with carrying a concealed firearm but it was either dismissed or not prosecuted, court documents show. Lupoe got a state licence to work as a security guard in 1989 and a permit to carry a gun as a security guard in 1993 but both expired in 2007, said Russ Heimerich, a spokesman for the state Bureau of Security and Investigative Services. The suicide note: Here is a redacted text of the letter sent to KABC-TV by Ervin Lupoe, who is believed to have killed his wife and five children at their home in Wilmington. A redacted copy of the letter was posted on the KABC-TV Web site. To whom it may concern: To start off about this tragic story, my name is Ervin Lupoe, my wife Ana Lupoe, my eldest daughter Brittney Lupoe-8yrs, my twin daughters Jaszmin, Jassely-5yrs, my twin boys Benjamin, Christian 2yrs 4mo. We worked at Kiaser (sic) Permanente West Los Angeles. My wife as a mammo. Tech. damn fine one ask everyone including the physicians. My new position as a Special procedural tech. My position was a fight to get, in fact had to file a grievance with the union for discrimination and HIPPA violations, then another administrator had to correct the DA (redacted) regarding the union procedures, the ADA who did this is, I truly believe is the reason, well not the whole reason, but added kindling to the fire, why we are dead, (redacted). Support: Friends, family and neighbours attend a community meeting at a church after the shootings Well my wife and I were being investigated for misrepresentation of our employment to an outside agency for the benefit to ourselves, childcare. When after we had our initial interview on Dec. 19th. It seems our fate with the company had been decided on Dec. 22nd, yet on the 23rd, I was told by my administrator, (redacted) that, "You should not even had bothered to come to work today you should have blown your brains out." After such admonishment from my administrator, assuming there had been a decision reached, I contacted my union rep. who stated go to HR and inform them of the incident, and to the union reps. knowledge there was no decision made. (redacted) the HR person handling our matter stated that there was no decision reached as of yet and that an outside agency was handling the matter. (redacted) stated to me that she had spoken to (redacted) and (redacted) concerning the statement made, but (redacted) completely denied making such a comment. I produced the names of the employees, and (redacted) reached me two days later stating (redacted) thought about the matter and did state (redacted) make the comment. Community grief: Audelia Birucel, 38, who was visiting relatives in the neighborhood, cries after learning of the Lupoe tragedy Then (redacted) asked me how I would accept (redacted) apology, but not to answer just yet, think about it a couple days and let (redacted) know. I left the office and two days later my wife and I were terminated. Our administrator also stated that we would not be eligible for unemployment, my wife applied anyway. We returned Kiaser (sic) Permanente's property prior to leaving the facility, yet the company could not provide us with our licenses so that we may look for other employment. I let the (redacted) of the facility know what was occurring yet she stated there was nothing she could do but refer us the HR or our union rep. We were told by (redacted) that we should have received our license's as they were mailed, yet we did not and when we attempted to reach her concerning the matter and unable to reach her, again we reached the assistant administrator of the facility who again stated the same to contact HR. We stated we have attempter (sic) but there was know response. Then when (redacted) reached us, she stated don't contact (redacted) , any more concerning any problems. So after a horrendous ordeal my wife felt it better to end our lives and why leave our children in someone else's hands, in addition it seems Kiaser Permanente want's us to kill ourselves and take our family with us. They did nothing to the manager who stated such, and did not attempt to assist us in the matter, knowing we have no job and 5 children under 8 years with no place to go. So here we are. Ervin Lupoe (Handwritten Oh Lord my God is there no hope for a widow's son!' http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,483645,00.html I hope this idiot rots in the hottest part of hell for what he has done to his wife and those adorable kids, especially those adorable kids. What is the world coming to that a man can shoot his own kids in the head for WHATEVER reason?

In recent times, Lagos has been too chaotic and I feel that anyone who is trying to cause change, even if it is only aesthetic, deserves our support. Even the worse of cynics will agree with me that some semblance of order has returned to the metropolis since Fashola began his restoration and beautification activities. I agree with those who feel there's still a lot to be done and from listening to Fashola's numerous speeches, I believe he shares that same opinion. However, there is a need to start from somewhere like he has done. At least he is better than our man at the centre who has a 7-Point Agenda on which he has not even drawn a road-map for meeting any of them almost two years down the line. Flea markets exist even in the most developed countries of the world but in those climes, they are organized in such a way that they do not obstruct human and vehicular movement or act as a haven for all sort of criminality. You only need to pass through places like Oshodi (pre-demolition of course ) to know how many man hours are lost in traffic daily due to the illegal trading in the area. The truth is that there is a working GOVERNMENT in Lagos State and even though I am not an indigene of Lagos, I have lived here for almost all of my life and I am proud of what Fashola and his team have achieved so far. |
