Richard Branson probably has a phone installed in his bathroom grin grin

Seriously though, there is nothing wrong with going through your spouse' phone. Provided you are not doing so in a bid to confirm a suspicion. My point is that if you are checking with a view to confirming a suspicion, you will deem it confirmed even if all you found is a phone contact saved with a strange sounding name. Rather than find answers, you will only find more fuel for your suspicion, which, may unfortunately just reside in your head.

Soon you start labeling your spouse an adulterous and unfaithful husband; You become a shark at home; you begin to snarl and bark at every female you find near your husband including his relatives; everything starts to spiral out of control and you wind up a depressed, drug addicted and achoholic wife with a broken home - - -and it all started on that day you went thru his phone to verify what he was up to while he was away.

I am all for openess and transparency in a marriage. But I still think phones are off-limit especially when you already have a pre-conceived notion about what you expect to find. The question I usually ask is that when you check the phone and you find that suspicious text or phone contact on his phone, will you be willing and trusting enough to accept whatever explanation you get from your husband as the truth?

Your husband received this really hilarious joke that has been making the rounds in his office for instance and while in the bathroom, he asks you to go thru his phone to read the message. While doing that, your eye caught this other flirty sms or mms sent to him by someone whose name is saved on his phone as "Chic." You ask your husband who she is and why she sent you "that kind of sms" and he says she's this new lady in the office who seems to have the hots for him. He goes on to say off-handedly like we men always do, "forgerabourrit!!! I kept the sms to show you anyway. So thank God you have seen it" Would that explanation be good enough? Or would you lay siege on his phone from then on? Would you susddenly start questioning why he "suddenly seems so attached to his phone, taking it with him everywhere including the bathroom?" Would you suddenly begin to suspect the reason behind the fact that his phone is now "perpetually" on the "silent" profile when all that happened was that he finished late from a meeting and forgot to take the phone off silent mode? take note that some of these developments were things you wouldn't give a second thot to if you did not see that suspicious sms from "Chic."

If you know you can keep trusting in case you stumble on circumstantial evidence on his celly or lappy, then by all means, feel free to browse them. But if you cannot, abeg---for your own sake and the sake of your family, leave em phones alone.

Not a very wise move my dear. A wise woman builds her home. Like I said earlier, if the lady has been able to tolerate her husband's female friend for five years without suspecting foul play, its best not to rock the boat now. Simply befriend the friend too and let things roll

iyaegbe:
She is my good friend, she is happily married (at least in my own thinking).

She just left my place. She said her marriage is hell that she has always been in pains for the past five years she's married. I asked her what happened because to me she's been having the fun of her life.

She said her husband is truly the kool type, easy going and relatively wealthy. Neither drink nor smoke and surely not into womanizing which is what most women want. His only problem is that he has a lady friend whom she doesn't want around him and he has refused to cut off from the lady (because they have been friends for a long time). Asked if the husband is dating the lady in question, she said no that she is at least 95% sure he is not dating her. Her words, "he is not dating her, that I am very sure of but they are talk over the phone too often. I am sure they don't meet cos my husband hardly goes out without me". Asked if her husbands loves her as a wife, she said yes very much. He gives what she asks for, all but to cut off this lady.

Her worry and cause of pain is how to make her husband to totally forget about this lady. Please what advise can I give my friend?
Abeg my sister, tell your friend to leave her husband's friend alone for her own good. If her husband has been friends with this lady for five years and she is still 95% per cent sure that her husband is not cheating with his "friend" then maybe its time she makes this "friend" her friend as well and allow sleeping dogs lie. Looked at from another perspective, I think its a way of keeping her "perceived enemy" close enough to be monitored.

Seems to me like it is your friend that is creating unnecessary heat in her homestead by her petty suspicions. From your explanation of what she told you, there seems to me like there is no basis for it. She needs to apply wisdom.

I love my husband and i am sure he loves me too. I try my best to be a dutiful loving wife. I believe i perform all the traditional wifey roles well. We are good friends, we talk about everything and enjoy a warm relationship.

HE made a statement that 'he owns me' and i found it hard to swallow. i tot we were in the marriage business together, i watch his back he watches mine kinda relationship. I know and realise he is the head of the family and thus my head, but for me, the term ownership strikes me as master slave relationship and i refused to accept it! We havent been married long and i feel that it is correction i must make now, because i am in the marriage of my own free will.

I dunno if i am wrong to have a problem with that statement, so please i need your views and your reactions. Presently he is very angry with me(not talking to me) and says i am being a feminist, please help me to understand the term better if i am wrong, or if i am right how i can make him realise it is not so!
Well, ehhmmm, let me ask you a question. Was your husband made to pay "armed robber" dowry by your people before marrying you? I have a friend who hates (I mean like really detest his wife) because he claims marrying her almost ruined him financially. Apparently, he was made to pay a hand and a leg (plus head sef) to marry her. So now, he treats her like one of his numerous cars while he keeps SEVERAL relationships outside. He tells me all the time that he BOUGHT her with his money and so her sole duty is to bear kids for him. After that, he has told me he is going to kick her back to her family. The sad thing is that the wife doesn't even know his sinister plans.

He is pissed with her because she seemed to endorse the exorbitant pre-marital requests her family made of him. According to him, they went as far as asking him to build two HOUSES for her parents!!!! Now if that is the same thing that happened to you before marriage, then maybe you should start taking your husband's statement seriously,

Mehn, sweetheart, let me make like a good christian that I am supposed to be grin grin grin and say hold on and keep praying, something's gotta give soon.

Now, let me get real and tell you that you need to get out of that relationship at once!!!! There are different kinds and forms of spousal abuse and what your husband is doing to you is ABUSING YOU. And what the eff is that crap about "he has warned me not to cheat on himhuh?!!!" It sounds to me like he is saying, if you cheat on me, you'll die or something. Which seems to point towards the fact that he may be in some shady cult or something, like someone here suggested earlier.

For the sake of your kids, ask some questions and demand some straight answers. But if you don't get none, get some outside sweetheart. Your marriage ended 2 and a half years ago.

please what would you do if you stumbled on some information revealing that your elder sister is cheating on her husband. they seem happy together though they have the usual financial challenges. they have 4 kids.

what would you do ? please advice.
Well if you ask me, I'll simply say MIND YOUR BUSINESS!!!!! grin grin grin

But, seeing that you are the usual busy-body-aprokoish-pesky-joy-killing sibling kind grin grin grin grin I would say, tell ur mummy for her. Well, of course, you can have a heart to heart with her directly, but that would depend to a large extent on the kind of relationship you both share. if she is the type who is quick with a knock to ur poke-nosing grin head or a slap to your I-too-holy grin face, then I think the "mummy option" is safer.

Ehmmm, on the darker side though, you could always stay silent and pretend you don't know any better, gather all of your facts, maybe get a few candid shots to boot, then blackmail her for some cool cash lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed Oops!!! I forgot you mentioned that they are having financial issues. Doesn't look like there is too much cheddar lying around. Makes me wonder: could that be why she is seeing other guys?

I'm sure the couple in question will do just fine. It is only a passing phase.
Family › Re: Flirty Husband by Reptyle(m): 3:06pm On Aug 12, 2009
Methinks you set yourself up for drama when you decided to go through your husband's text messages. I believe in the two-become-one marriage mumbo-jumbo. But frankly, I think one should still be allowed some privacy. 90% of the time, when you go looking through people's stuff behind them, you always find exactly what you are looking for, like flirty text messages to or from flirt mates,

As to what to do, PRAY, pray real hard, matter of fact, repeat after me: OUR FATHER, WHO ART IN HEAVEN, etc.

Seriously though, it takes God to rein in a spouse who already has his/her eyes fixed outside. In your case, I would advise that you stay focused and continue to remember the man you married as opposed to this one you have suddenly branded an "unfaithful and adulterous" husband. Continue to show him love and please, for your sake, stop reading his text messages. I know its difficult and all but you really need to resist the temptation. Pray to God and ask him to bring your husband's eyes back home. Oh, and when God answers your prayers (as he surely will) be sure that you are an eyeful for your husband, thus guaranteeing that he will never look outside again,

Good Luck wink

*Sell same company for $12B

Zain up for sale again

By Clara Nwachukwu with Agency reports

Kuwait-based telecom company Zain Group has announced its intentions to sell off its African mobile networks. No reason was given for why Zain is looking to sell the African division.

Reports say the group is hoping to get a handsome sum of $12 billion from an unnamed French prospective buyer.

It is not yet clear how the sale will affect Zain Nigeria’s operation, which this week out sourced a major part of its service operations to mobile giant Ericcson. If the French deal succeeds, the group is set for yet another name change.

However, Zains spokesperson, Emeka Oparah, in a telephone interview with NEXT said: “I am not aware of the development. I only saw it as an alert from Google today, so I cannot say anything on it right now. Hopefully by tomorrow morning more information will start flowing on it.”

The sale of the former Celtel’s assets is estimated to be worth up to $12 billion, including debt, reports the Dow Jones Newswire, citing the Al Qabas newspaper.

Celtel was founded by Sudanese-born, Mo Ibrahim, in 1998 and sold to Kuwiat’s MTC (now Zain) in April 2005 for $3.4 billion.

The Zain Group is waiting for a reply from the French company this week and if the deal isn’t settled, Zain will study bids made by other companies in India and China, as the deal will inject ample cash liquidity into company.

Zain Nigeria, formerly known as Celtel Nigeria, was established in 2000 as Econet Wireless, by a group of institutional and private investors as well as three state governments: Lagos, Delta, and Akwa Ibom States.

Prior to its change of name to Celtel, the company was known as VMobile Nigeria owned by Vee Networks Limited.

In 2006, following Celtel International’s acquisition of majority stake in the company, it was re-branded Celtel and became an important part of Celtel’s pan-African operations spanning 14 countries.

Celtel Nigeria was rebranded Zain Nigeria on August 1, 2008, following the global acquisition of Celtel International by MTC Group, which transformed to Zain Group, a leading emerging markets player in the field of telecommunications, aiming to become one of the top ten mobile groups in the world by 2011.

It made history on August 5, 2001 by becoming the first telecoms operator to launch commercial GSM services in Nigeria.

Music/Radio › Re: Hip Hop World Awards Nomineees: Predictions and Vote link by Reptyle(m): 11:43am On May 14, 2009
HHWA have really raised the standards of award shows in Nigeria and I must give props to the organizers. They have earned it. I know they will keep improving the standard every year.

However, in my opinion, one of the areas they really need to improve on is their selection process. They need to let people understand the criteria for selecting particular nominees for a particular category. Perhaps with that information, it would help someone like me understand why an artist like Mode 9's "Paradigm Shift" is on the list for album of the year, when P Square's "Game is Over" is not. I mean like, nuff respect to Modey for what he is doing for the rap industry in Nigeria. But that album can hardly be said to have enjoyed mainstream success or received as much airplay as P Square's. Perhaps there is something I am not seeing that the organizers saw.

I also think Shank should have made the list for Reggae/Dancehall.

P Square should also have made the list for the Best R'n'B/Pop Album

Timi Dakolo should have made the list for Best Male Vocalist. Maybe he didn't qualify because he only has two singles on air. Darey is a good performer but when it comes to voice, Timi can hold his own anyday.

Just my 2cents sha.

What your husband is doing is called emotional abuse. It is just as bad as physical abuse. You need to find out if your husband is happy being married to you because if he isn't, frankly, it is only going to get worse. You need some help. If you are a christian, perhaps you should talk to your spiritual leader and also pray to God to cause changes in your relationship. If you are not, seek professional help from a counsellor. Good luck.

mntpaul:
We are all sinners. How come people that fornicate are not condemned like homosexuals? How about thieves and liars? I think and have lustful thoughts. How come a Gay is treated worse? All sinners should be treated equal. I wonder if the church discriminates against people who are Gay.
Indeed the Bible says that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. That is why the redemptive work of Jesus Christ is so important. It is also true that fornication, stealing and telling lies are all sins as are so many other such practices. But contrary to your opinion, these vices are preached against by the church and where it is discovered to have been commited, it is condemned and the perpetrators have to ask forgiveness of God so that they are reconciled to him once again.

The issue with homosexualism is that it seeks understanding and acceptance!!! They come up with all these fallacious arguments, chief of which is that they were born gay!!!! That is a lie from the pit of hell. To agree with that line of argument would be to accept that the fornicator, adulterer or thief was also born that way and should be accepted and tolerated by one and all.

The church speaks out against sin where it is identified. But it does not discriminate against sinners as long as they do not ride with the idea that sin is ok and acceptable. I know a few notable homosexuals that are now straight. It is possible to go straight.

A 20 year old Nigerian-Briton, Samantha Orobator, is currently fighting for her life in Laos as she is set to be put on trial for smuggling heroin into the tiny, communist, Asian country.  Reports have it that she has been in jail for months awaiting trial, before the British authorities heard of it and even now, she is only allowed access to her relatives and British authorities for 20 minutes every month. Reports have it that she is also now 4 months pregnant as a result of repeated sexual assaults on her while in prison awaiting trial.

Really sad story. I hope she gets off the hook and changes her ways. She should thank God that she does not have to depend on the Nigerian government to intervene on her behalf. I hope the British government will be able to help her.
