Valid points raised. Buhari anyway has always been a hard-sell in the south. |
Sad story. Sadder thing is this would not be addressed by his campaign organisation. At times, you wonder what sort of politics that goes on in this country. Later, the man would lose and start shouting about rigged elections. I know many young nigerians, lagosians among, who have decided to vote for either buhari and ribadu because they are tired of the pdp's cluelessness. I wonder what they would feel if they see this. These accusations alluding to a dark side of Buhari are getting too much to ignore. |
living and owning property in that axis could be two different things. Not only the super rich live there. Folks who earn good money can afford to live there by renting apartments or houses. That being said, I think owning property there means u have tons of money. |
I don't know if he is a 'rare gem' or not. What I know for sure is that seeking to elevate him to the supreme court without his consent is actually a demotion and is a sinister move. As President of the Appeal Court, Salami has nominated other Justices of the Court of Appeal to the Supreme Court. Accepting the Chief Justice's nomination would make him junior to men he has nominated to the Supreme Court. What's more, this move is entirely unprecendented. We have seen so many brilliant judges who retired as appeal court judges. It should be a matter of consent. Now the Chief Justice's move as sinister as it appears may actually be a response to another sinister plan in the appeal court as there have been rumours of Salami being close to Tinubu as to influence the appeal court verdicts in some south-west states. Who knows? Again, to be fair to Salami and the appeal court, out of over a hundred election petitions, only 5 were decided against the pdp with only two going to the AC so I rly don't know man, I nevertheless think that if the Chief Justice had any dignity as his position demands, he should have resigned upon the allegations levelled against him, Being a lawyer, I hid my head in shame when I saw the allegations, Damn. |

Well criticizing bb users is almost as common as the rush to own one. I don't understand why people would want to harangue others for spending their money the way they want, or for refusing to want what they want. For most bb users around me, including myself, the bb's main attraction is the unlimited downloads. I personally do not like touchscreens but I don't go around telling the world how crappy I think they are. There are lots of options out there, just buy the one that makes you feel good. |
Until some people get it into their skulls that religion isn't a factor in south-west politics, these kind of threads will keep popping up. In my immediate family, there's a good mix of different religious leanings. Some are xtian, one is muslim and the majority are non-religious. I think some people would love a situation where a minority ethnic group would just be awarded the post of Governor or something in Lagos. I've read hilarious posts of some people here claiming Igbos are about 40-50% of Lagos. That percentage added to other ethnities like those from the Delta and the North should give an Igbo man a very good chance innit? The route we all know and which the law recognises is that any qualified individual who wishes to hold an elective post should seek a party's nomination and if succesful, contest. We detest things like zoning and federal character no matter how necessary around here. |
Had sex in a public place, Almost got caught. ![]() |
Nigerian muslims like to kid themselves. Its basically a violent religion. Let's cut the crap and the long stories. Its also a backward one. |
Good move. What was the senator doing with mobile policemen? I think an example should be made of this guy to serve as a warning to people who go about with mobile policemen when they are not entitled to them. However I don't get what the IGP meant when he referred to that late rogue as 'innocent blood', No one is mourning this rogue's death. Even his wives in the newspaper didn't look too bothered. |

It is clear Jonathan cannot lead this country. No excuses, no conspiracy theories can bail out a head of state who cannot guarantee security at any level. Was it not just yesterday an assassination happened in a ward congress of his party in ibadan? His desperation has rubbed off on everyone in the political class especially those in the PDP. |

Well, you can't eat your cake and have it. Its supposed to be the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We should have state police. Of course it won't be smooth-sailing at first but with time, it will achieve its objectives. Besides, how can some people demand for a more equitable resource sharing formula along the lines of true federalism and then turn around to say state police should not be established and backed by law? The two are, among other things, features of federalism. Hate it or love it. Let them sling dane guns across their shoulders, You can't expect Rivers and Ebonyi to have the same standard of quality. People need not panic about some perceived factors that may hinder state police. If votes count and leaders are accountable to the people, no one would want to abuse such power. The advantages of state police in a proper federation far outweigh its demerits. |
Tolled roads should have alternate routes. The situation is clear; this is a state-sanctioned monopoly. It is highly unfair. |
mikeansy:So who would you rather have? Atiku? Let's face it, we don't have the luxury of choice in this coming election. It will eventually boil down to the PDP candidate and most likely Buhari. In that kind of situation, I would rather vote Buhari than vote for that criminal party. |
For lack of a better candidate, Buhari may get my vote. I supported Jonathan because I let sectionalism get the better of me. Now I know better. |

Poster, have you listened to 'Girls Girls Girls' by Jay Z? Well 9 years on and I still don't understand that line about his African chick, Miss FooFoo (what a name) being bald and being stark naked when he met her. I think that line was just plain disrespectful , Personally, I don't care much about people who generally look down on me and my kind. |
Yes i have, only once, Regrettably, |
This is most likely planted by the acn to ridicule the obasanjo family. In essence, this can never happen from the perspectives of both sides (obasanjo's family and the acn) |
slap1:Thats it my guy. |
Hall of fame : Sanusi Lamido Sanusi. For the ABUsite's exemplary courage calling the bluff of the immoral senators. Hall of shame : Ibrahim Babangida. For his display of crass opportunism, remaining quiet during Yar Adua's illness and Jonathan's emergence as Acting President only for him to declare his ambition after the man's death. Also for transforming from an ex military president to a divisive and very sectionalist activist for zoning. |

@Eluala, that was just on point! Good one. Sagamite:Bro, stop referring to ABU as 'Tier 1B'. ABU is right up there with your 'Tier 1A'. |
@dapobear, not that everyone knows he's egba but everyone knows he's yoruba atleast among kwarans and other Yorubas that care enough. You can't judge where people come from solely from looks especially in Nigeria. People are always surprised to hear that I'm yoruba cuz of my looks when in fact, i'm a full-blooded one. This may be because of the stereotype that yoruba folks are dark complexioned. Gbemi can definitely be yoruba, money made her that fresh cuz there are many omo-alatas with a similar complexion. Whatever the Sarakis wanna do with themselves is cool to me, no one is losing sleep. |
Material things do it for me, You see, every man can't be Shawn Carter so if you can't stand my level, bye-bye! Sex can't be a problem, NEVER (I Hope!) cuz me I loff it well well. Family interference- i have no idea about this cuz i'm not married. I guess its more of an issue with married folks. However, the interference, for me, must come from the wifey cuz I don't think anybody would care that much in my family. Calls- i agree with the poster who said if it reduces, one might miss it. My girl loves to call and chat all day, maybe cuz there's a lil distance. It could be something really on busy days but I feel I'd miss it if we slow down on that so i'm careful not to complain! |
This, everyone knows. Next please |
Jonathan had better win the primaries. If not, he's screwed. |
