Politics › Re: How Jonathan,Governors,Service Chiefs Prevailed On Tompolo To Shelve Meeting by Rhea: 5:11pm On Jul 26, 2015 |
Tompolo and his gang should stop grandstanding. They do not need a meeting before they decide to shift to the creeks to continue stealing oil and vandalizing pipelines. Tompolo was in charge of FG contracts to secure the pipeline installations in the Niger delta, and surprisingly the rate of vandalization skyrocketed under his watch. He and his cohorts were busy buying private jets and mansions. Unfortunately, with the recent nuclear deal signed with Iran, oil prices will fall even further, because Iran & Saudi Arabia will flood the market with oil. Welcome to $30 a barrel era. This means that the militant in Buguma can bunker from now till the cows come home and have nobody to sell it to.
Goodluck Jonathan had the unique opportunity to turn around the plight of the Niger Deltans, but rather chose to continue to pay off the likes of Tompolo, Asari and co, while the region continued to wallow in perpetual poverty. Instead of completing East-West road and building numerous road and waterway channels all over the Niger delta, they were busy looting the national treasury blind. Whenever they like, they will charter helicopter and fly to Yenogoa, while the rest of us continue to drive through mud and water in the name of road travel.
Buhari as a Fulani man will face north and continue the development that has stalled there since Abacha and co left Asorock. Before our very korokoro eyes, the north will wear the look of small Dubai. If and when next an Ijaw man smells the insides of Asorock again, he should wise up and sow the seeds of prosperity and development in their impoverished region, and not just for a few.
It is about time Nigeria returned to the farm. The richest people in America today are farmers. Food items are the only products that have doubled in price in the last 5 years in the US. That means more money for farmers. If Nigeria does not make Agriculture the mainstay of the economy, we will run out of funds to even produce the oil we think we have in abundance. We will run out of funds to steal and loot, because there will be nothing to loot. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Nestle!!!...why This????...sad!!! by Rhea: 9:42pm On Jun 13, 2015 |
RileyFreeman1: I am sad and unhappy about how a specific Nestle recruitment campaign was handled by Nestle Nigeria. I feel even worse because research have shown that other people have experienced the same treatment. Some have experienced even worse.
I know there are Nestle employees here on Nairaland, so it will do me great joy if someone explains this situation and why Nestle does this.
I applied for an opening late last year with Nestle, luckily for me, I got invited for a Dragnet test which I gladly attended. Fortunately for me, I passed the Dragnet Test. About a week after receiving a Dragnet success email, I received another invite from Nestle to attend a function based test which I did. Few weeks later, I received another email that I was successful at the Function test.
About 2 weeks later, I received an interview invite mail and call, I was happy at the speed and professionalism of the entire process because I knew no one working with Nestle and I was convinced that the entire process had been outstandingly meritocratic. I attended the Nestle interview, very few people were present for the interview. I did my very best at the interview and as God will have it, about two weeks later I received a follow up email that I was successful at the interview. I was very happy because Nestle is a company I have utmost respect for and building my career with such a company was a dream come through.
This is June the 12th, 2015, Its been about 5 months since I received the last interview success mail. I was concerned so I networked with some Nestle staff via LinkedIn.com. To my surprise, I was told some people did medicals and resumed about 3 months ago for the same opening. I was also made to believe that 95% of these people previously worked with Nestle as contract staff, now they have been made full time staff.
I initially felt bad but I also know about other interviewed candidates who received regret mails from Nestle after the interview where I received success mail.
It will be very much appreciated if someone from Nestle explains why this is happening.
Why have I been left in the dark by Nestle?
Why no follow up email has been sent since over 5 months?
What exactly is going on?
Do I still remain positive about being contacted by Nestle?
If possible, Nestle Nigeria HR should look into this because it seems like a very unfair treatment. A follow up correspondence to candidates who will work with you in the future will really ease a lot of tension. It also shows top class professionalism on your part as a company. I have experienced what you are going through. The HR guys may be trying to sell your offer to the highest bidder while telling your prospective department head that "we have not found an ideal candidate". If you have an insider or anybody who works in Nestle who can make genuine enquiries for you, contact the person. Otherwise, keep sending them periodic emails to request on the status of the recruitment exercise. That way, you have some documented evidence of your unwavering interest in the process. Good luck |

Christianity Etc › Re: My Terrible Experience In A Church Today by Rhea: 8:24pm On Apr 19, 2015 |
Bekwarra: My friend who's a worker in a new generation pentecostal church (I won't mention names) invited me to his church. Although I don't normally go to church VERY EARLY, he succeeded in persuading me to go early with him because as a worker, he should be in church very early and he knew fully well that if we didn't go together, I wouldn't go; so he succeeded in dragging me along.
When we got to church, they started their normal Sunday School like chit-chat and later praises, worship songs and the service started proper. Born into an Apostolic-inclined orthodox and later crossed over to RCCG, I wasn't at home with the mode and method of their service. I was getting bored and feeling out of place while silently praying for the service to end. Then it came to things like "run to five people and tell them greater things are coming your way this week, you must run o", "grab the person beside you and shake him happy sunday". I was getting tired and shaking my head in despair.
The worms in my stomach were not helping matters, they launched a massive #BringBackOurFood protest because I couldn't take breakfast before leaving for church. The only thing that kept on pushing me on was the hope that the pastor would soon say "run to 5 people and hug them happy sunday". I would gladly and patiently look for 5 beautiful sisters with their killing mini/pencil skirts and tight-fitting shirts to hug but unfortunately, that command never came. All those times, I was feeling frustrated already and whenever my eyes meet those of my friend where he was standing with the engines and mixers, he gives me that "padi no vex we go soon finish" smile.
Just as I was resigning to fate and hoping that the service would soon end and I would bolt home the worst of it happened. The pastor had been preaching for close to 45mins harping on the need to give and sow as good Christians. He gave several examples in the bible of people who gave and later reaped God's blessings. He urged us to give and test God. After that, it was time to give offering. The offering was going to be in two parts; normal Sunday offering and the commitment towards the church building because their auditorium is under construction. We gave offering and afterwards the pastor came back on the pulpit and started complaining why people refused to give generously despite taking us on a journey through the word of God about the essence of giving in a Christian life. He preached for another 10mins. I wasn't even listening to him again because I was gradually dozing off.
What actually jolted me back into reality were these words "now it's time for operation search your neighbour". I sat up immediately to listen well and that was when I heard the pastor saying
"this is time for operation search your neighbour, search your neighbour's bag, wallet, purse or pockets as need be and bring out the contents, if there is no money there return the bag but if there is money bring it out, we must learn to give to God. He gave us the money and we must return it to him".
After all those words, people took the bag of the person sitting beside them while the pockets or wallets of brothers were being searched.
The brother beside me was taking his hands towards my pockets about to begin his own search when I said with venom in my eyes and in a Russian mafian voice
"What do you think you want to do??"
He replied me
"You heard what the pastor said brother".
I told him not to even contemplate trying it. He was then trying to pacify me and cajole me telling me there is no harm in giving towards God's work. I told him I'm not against giving but I'm against collecting by force. This is no more giving, this is collecting. He smiled at my words and said
"My brother it's the same thing, God's blessing awaits the two"
and he made for my pockets again, I felt that my phonetics were not having any effect and I replied with
"Bros abeg no try that thing o, I swear I go change am for you".
He was shocked.
One usher noticed us and came to us and he was trying to calm me down because my voiced had changed as my face too.
My friend remained where he was to avoid being seen as the person that brought Orubebe to church. I don dey para for them like mad and the people sitting around us were trying to pacify me. I said "Okay, no problem," carried my bible and.............................with one last Dracula look I told the usher
"Please don't even try to follow me".
He remained rooted to the spot and I made my way out of the church and straight home. If you cannot disclose the name of the church, then continue to hide their identity. It also makes you culpable in the crime. One way or another, we will find out (assuming this your story no get K leg sef) |
