GboyegaD:
I understand your point of view but there are better ways an uncle can talk to a nephew. I once had an encounter with an uncle on something not related however, he embarrassed me in the presence of my friends. I haven't seen him since then however, we had a telephone conversation last year because the son had a baby and I had to call in on the day of christening and he was there.

Everyone should always remember every man has an ego.
I understand you man.. Thank Goodness while growing up, I was never in a precarious situation where I was at the mercy of an uncle...
My mum's younger brother, God rest his soul, was loved by all of us because he shared a special bond with my mother more than the rest of his siblings...

However growing up, my siblings and I were not the type that visits uncles and aunts...So I won't know where to put my face if such embarrassment was to happen those days...

But what OP's uncle failed to understand is OP will someday have a home of his own and those kids of his would like to visit someday... Imagine using the sins of the father to visit their children....

He is an uncle and there are better ways to put it than yell at a nephew. That was condescending on the part of the uncle.
My brother being an uncle does not prevent a mean man from showcasing his character..OP totally missed the signs in my opinion

If I was to be in OP's shoes, I will never go there except on a life and death situation... I won't even drink water there again... I will take my own water bottle to avoid finishing their water during such invite..

That's not divorce man...

Separation is different from divorce..
It could be a cool off period for both of them to think things through and they can still continue from where they stopped...

Until bride price is returned or paper signed, it's assumed that they have just separated...

This piece of advice might not be easy but whatever u do, please don't take side... You and your siblings should be as neutral as u can..

Village markets tend to be expensive to outsiders. They deliberately hike their prices once they see non locals come. Learnt that back in the days in Lokoja. I used to spend days in their city but would go to their village once I'm about to leave to buy bargains....they weren't much of bargains.
Sisi what were you doing in Lokoja of all places? Abi Na youth service?

It's just that I find it hard asking for help,I just don't want to be asking him, mind you if I ask I get little,I just wish he can be sending me even though it's10k before I finish college
Whatever he gives you dear, take it with a thankful heart.. it's just the reality that he doesn't owe you anything...

He is taking care of the people he genuinely owe duty of financial help and care which happens to be your parents...so whatever he gives you is out of the generosity of his big heart smiley

If you want to vent your anger, channel it to the Nigerian government.. they know how to get dressing allowance, make-up allowance, travel allowance and other allowances but forgets how to implement a law that can pay Nigerian students a little stipend..no matter how little, which can go a long way..

Ask questions during this election campaign process and get the information on who can help alleviate the suffering of the people just a little... I know it's difficult to solve all Nigeria problems but someone that can put a little cushion is required...vote for that individual..

The allowances the law makers are taking in Nigeria would have helped your situation... They are the ones owing you and not your brother..

In my opinion, a responsible husband is that man that takes care of his family, provide for the children’s education and health and ensures that his wife is well taken care of economically and emotionally...who is smart enough not to die simply because he was tagged the breadwinner of the home and intelligent enough to ask for help from the wife (especially financially ) smiley

Christianity Etc › Re: Conducting Burial Ceremony In The Church by Richy4(m): 5:45pm On Nov 13, 2022
I don't understand what you mean by conduct burial ceremony in Pentecostal churches...

If you mean bringing the corpse inside the church premises, then yes..
Based on my experiences, some churches don't allow it... But they usually help in conducting funeral services at the deceased resident...
The Church I dislike so much in the way they treat the dead is Winners Chapel..
<<You will see a valued member of the church, probably a chorister or a sanctuary keeper...

<< When the individual dies, u will hardly know.. they will totally hide everything about that as if people don't die... they will just send a junior pastor to go and officiate the funeral... Some times they deliberately schedule pastors meeting on that day as an excuse not to show up... As if to say, yea, he/ she is dead and of no use to us anymore..

<< What I typed here was what I witnessed as a member Wayback in my University days while in Nigeria.. it was heart wrenching..
