Since god changed the language of the people that were trying to build a house to reach him in the sky. You have to ask yourself considering the fact that it was in the olden days, what technology do those people have to build the house? How tall was this building? Is it as tall as the tallest building i the world right now?
What about the people that goes outside this world into space? Why hasn’t god change the language of the crews? Why hasn’t he blown up our space ships or has god really relocated from heaven?

The people that wrote the book did not know that one day, we were going to build space ships that will go outside of this earth.
That is why religious people point to the sky and call it heaven because they didn’t know what was out there.

The truth is most Nigerians do not read books outside their field and school book. even the school books are read just to pass exams.
even with the school books, they know little about humanity and science in general.
the acess to internet is very low and mot people that have acess are either scamming foriegn folks or checking sport news and their emaill.
you will be amazed @ how little they know about science. ask a nigerian why we have day and night, u will be shocked that a lot of people do not know. they only read books written by these pastors that are out to only collect their tithe.
religion is robbing the country of development. if you discuss any problem with a nigerian the next thing he will tell u is: god will take control. since all these years good has not come down to help.
instead of them to take charge, they will rather pray. thats why little things kill them.
the leaders of the church are the stars here. i remebered when obasanjo bought a new presidental jet. he was critized by all and sundry. when adeboye bought the 4 billion naira jet.
the members of his church did not come out to criticize him. do u know how mny youths that 4 billion will help to get a university education? how many people it can help employ?
even those of us that stand to criticize them will be told off cuz they are the so called man of god. everything they do is right.
they practically worship these people. they are the gods in nigeria. what does the future of the country hold if things keep going on like this?
the most annoying thing is that for all their religiousity, the country is not progressing. this is due to hypocrasy. i tell a lot of people that a country is a reflection of the peope that stays inside it.
people do a lot of bad things without thinking of the consequnce. the people that should condemn thier actions will glorify thier actions by given them front seat in churches/mosque or adrning them with 1 title r the other
with all the prayers people have been praying for years, the country is just getting worse. now terrorism has been added to the list of the countries peoblem. that was how kidnapping started until it became a normality. sometimes in the nearest future we will be scared of standing i a crowded place cuz some brainwashed folks who wants virgins will blow up the spot.
stop praying to a blood thirsty, babaric, imaginary diety that has other important things like causing tsunamies, flooding, killing other peoples first born and accepting human and animal sacrifice.

Blame the people that believe these stories. i guess some people still believe the story of porrigde and how d tortoise had a bald head. if not, why would anybody believe the story of a talking snake. Men trying to build a house to reach god, parting of the red sea and Jonah that slept inside a fish. If only we had not being colonized, this same deluded bunch would have been defending the story of obatala and chicken that created the world.
Blame not the writers of the Jewish story book blame the folks who believed the stories and argues that it is true.
It takes complete delusion to believe the stories written in the bible. its funny to read through Nland sometimes and see some people try to explain how true the stories are. That’s why i really enjoy the religion section, the comedy is always hilarious (funnier than the joke section) watching people like noetic defend these stories.
i sometimes think that the apologist are intentionally messing with the atheist with ludicrous argument the come up with to defend the bible. i can imagine them laughing behind their pc after written something ridiculously stupid.

Valentines Day is just around the corner i intend avoid crowdy restaurants and the fun spot.
i am going to stay home with my boyfriend at home, cook some good food and watch a couple of movies.
i have created a list of romantic movies i have seen, that will really suit the valentines day. With a little review. Here is my own list. I would really like to hear suggestion on a good romantic movie to watch on Valentines Day.

Just like heaven
A man just lost his wife and decides to move to another apartment in a new city. He got to his apartment only to find a woman who claimed it was her apartment. He initially though he has been scammed until he called up the housing Agent, who informed him that the apartment was vacant.
The woman tried to push him out, only to pass through him like a mist. At that point he felt it was his depression that was making him hallucinate. He left the house to hang out in a public park, but he kept on seeing this particular lady. He tried drinking at the bar and hanging out with his best pal but the ghost kept on tormenting him. it was very hard to explain to his friend since he was the only one seeing the ghost.
After getting over the shock of seeing a ghost. He asked for the lady's name. He found out that she was the former occupant of his new apartment and is currently unconscious in the hospital after a ghastly accident.
So begin the story of how they tried everything to help her reunite her soul with her body.
This movie is funny, romantic and suspenseful. Absolutely perfect for a Val date.

Shall we dance?
A movie that sharpen my perspective about ballet & swaying.
It tells the story of a man with a perfect life. A great family, an adorable wife, an amazing daughter. Though to Richard Gere (starring as Clark) there was a vacuum that only dancing can fill.
He passes this particular dancing school everyday on his way to work, though he only stares as the train passes by but then he sees this stunning lady (Jennifer Lopez) staring out of the window everyday. In search of an adventure, he signed up for the dancing school.
At the school he met some really amazing friends who also sign up for different reasons. Little did they know that they are in for the toughest times of their lives. Swaying wasn’t as easy as they thought it would be.
Jlo turned down Clark’s advances. He was only looking for a new friend but the moment was marred with misconstrued signals that made Clark quit for a while.
His love of dancing made him come back and he made remarkable improvement and turned out to be one of the best student to ever grace the school.
The story took another twist when Clark’s wife became suspicious that he was cheating on her and employed a private detective.
There were twist and turns but in the ending the love for dancing conquered it all.
This is one movie that made me smile from the beginning to the end and I’m rating it 10 out 10.

Just friends
How does it feel masquerading as the best friend of the girl u are in love with? Reynolds will make u know how that feels in this movie. It’s a fine romantic comedy.

Definitely maybe
This is one of the feel good movie of the year 2009 for me. Finding a lost love, moving on, parenting and coping with a really smart kid. Definitely a movie u want to see. Has a happy ending just perfect for a splendid valentine.

My blueberry night
Who would have known that Norah Jones was a great actor? She blew me away with this movie. She starred alongside Jude law and Rachael Weiss.
Running a restaurant comes with keeping a lot of forgotten items. Keys, especially.
A bunch of forgotten keys brought 2 people together. The sceneries in this movie are so simple but it totally took my breath away.
I heard a lot of great things i would never forget. I took an interest in the blueberry pie. One of the most amazing part of the show was when Jude law wrote a thousand handwritten letters and calling all the Sarah in the phone book to find the girl he fell in love with.

Slumdog millionaire
U most have heard of the movie that won a lot of Oscars last year? That the one I’m talking about.
Surviving in the ghetto is not always easy. I always thought Ajegunle in Lagos is the craziest slum i have ever seen but i was wrong. Ajegunle is like Disney land compared to where these guys grew up in.
What would u do to find the one u love? What would u do to be successful in this world?
It took Samir a lot of effort. He played the “who want to be a millionaire game show” (just like mtn version).
It was a very emotional movie for me the ending was awesome. Nicole shersinger (pussy cat dolls) performed the soundtrack 'Jahio'

My best friends wedding
This is one of the movies i have seen the most in my life. I have seen it a million times and i hope to see it a million times more.
It’s never easy fighting for what has always been yours. Julia Robert (starred as Jules) had to do that in a grand plot to break up her best friends wedding who also happens to be an ex lover.
Love will make u do a lot of crazy things; it sometimes leaves u torn to pieces and desperate.
You will have an amazing time with this movie. Sing along scenes and a grand wedding. Suspenseful, funny and touching to the point of tears. it then light up your face with a big smile.
Its one of my favourite romantic movie of all time.

Picture this
A high school romantic comedy that takes you through fatherhood and the things we do for the ones we love. An all round great adventure and a happy ending.

Coming to America.
Awesome story, an evergreen classic. a fine comedy mixed with cool romance. a guaranteed roller coaster ride.

Cinderella story
A remix of the old story, with modern advisory and crazier step sisters. High school setting. A good watch.

Titanic
A sinking ship, a great love story but tragic ending. May spoil your val mood but u will sure enjoy it.

The notebook
The book that inspired this movie is the only novel I have read more than 20 times from childhood to adulthood. I don’t like love novels but I made this one an exception.
Nicolas Sparks is the finest romance novel writer I knew so I expect the movie to be as enjoyable as the book.

City of angels
Some of u might think Face-off, con air, Ghost rider or National treasure is Nicolas cage best movie, that is because u have not seen City of angels.
This movie is off the hook. This is the movie that inspired the Goo goo dolls song “iris”
Would u give up paradise for anyone? This movie put that question to rest, it showed me that love is the greater than anything.
The ending was tragic though. It proves that there is angel for everyone out there. So if u are lonely and thing the world is terrible have no fears, there s somebody for u out there.

I was a former muslim before turning into an athiest. There are some other ex-muslims around, only dat they are very rare.
I'm based in lagos. M lucky enough that half of my friends turn athiest after i was able 2 enlighten them about my views on religion. Some are stil religious but they are d ones in d closet weneva i am around for d fear of a long arguement dat they always find themselves speechless after.

I have been practically glued to my TV, watching one tree hill in recent days. Just finished the 4th season and i must say it is one of the best series i have seen.
I have come across it a lot of times whenever i am purchasing DVD’s. It just doesn’t strike me as a very interesting series but i was proven wrong by a friend who told me i had 2 watch it. I am really enjoying it.
First off, i wouldn’t date Lucas mom, she is 2 uptight and guarded.
I love Lucas, nobody can be that cool.
Payton, that girl is got a lot of issues. I feel so sorry for her, if only she could find true love.
Brooke is my favourite chick, she is wild and crazy. Very sexy, i just love her.
Nathan, i like him but his parents just want to ruin his life. i am glad he is not letting that happen.

Deregulation: Don’t hand over Nigeria’s economy to foreigners — Venezuelan ambassador tells FG

Venezuelan Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Enrique Arrundell, has asked the Federal Government not to hand over the economy to foreigners in the guise of deregulation.

The ambassador, who spoke in Abuja on Monday during a visit to the Minister of Information and Communications, Prof. Dora Akunyili, also advised the government to learn from the experience of Venezuela by making its refineries work.

Akunyili had asked Arrudell to encourage businessmen from his country to come to Nigeria and establish refineries in order to reap the benefits of the proposed deregulation of the downstream sector of the petroleum industry.

Responding, the ambassador said although the Venezuelan government would like to collaborate with a fellow member of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries, Nigeria would need to look inwards.

He said, “In Venezuela, since 1999, we’ve never had a raise in fuel price. We only pay $1.02 to fill the tank of a car. What I pay for with N12, 000 here (Nigeria), in Venezuela, I will pay N400. What is happening is simple. Our President (Hugo Chavez) decided one day to control the industry, because it belongs to Venezuelans.

“If you don’t control the industry, your development will be in the hands of foreigners. You have to have your own country. The oil is your country’s. Sorry I am telling you this. I am giving you the experience of Venezuela. We have 12 refineries in the United States, 18,000 gas stations in the West Coast. All we are doing is in the hands of the Venezuelans.

“Before 1999, we had three or four foreign companies working with us. That time, they were taking 80 per cent, and giving us 20 per cent. Now, we have 90 per cent, and give them 10 per cent. But now, we have 22 countries working with us on that condition.”

He added, “It is the Venezuelan condition. You know why, it is like because 60 per cent of the income goes to social programmes. That’s why we have 22,000 medical doctors assisting the people in the community. The people don’t go to the hospital, doctors go to their houses.

“This is because the money is handled by Venezuelans. How come Nigeria that has more technical manpower than Venezuela, with 150 million people, and very intellectual people all around has not been able to get it right? The question is: if you are not handling your resources, how are you going to handle the country?

“So, it is important that Nigeria takes control of her resources. We have no illiterate people. We have over 17 new universities totally free. I graduated from the university without paying one cent, and took three meals every day, because we have the resources. We want the resources of the Nigerian people for Nigerians. It is enough! It is enough, minister!”

Akunyili had drawn the attention of the ambassador to the huge potentials in the nation’s telecommunication sector, adding that the sector was being tapped by South African investors.

She said, “There has been trade between the two countries actually, but we do not have many Venezuelans setting up manufacturing outfits in Nigeria.

“I want you to use your good offices to send a message across to your people that Nigeria is a goldmine for genuine investors. We want them to come and invest just as other investors are doing in the telecoms sector.”

She told the ambassador that President Umaru Yar’adua’s administration was working hard to transform the nation through the Seven-Point Agenda and Vision 2020.
