LTGEN:
Some of our Tanks came from the Czech Republic Surplus Stocks.
Also more importantly the recent addition of our MRL70 Artillery systems came from there.
Could be ammo and spares for the various systems.

Gulder special forces personnel.

Nigeria's DICON to manufacture Beryl M762 assault rifles

Nigeria's (DICON) signed a letter of intent to the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ) for the production and technology transfer of Beryl M762 assault rifles in Nigeria.

It was not announced how many rifles will be produced in Nigeria. Although, Nigeria has at least 2,000 of the rifles. The Nigerian army is one of the few countries in the world outside of Poland to field the Beryl.

Nigeria’s 2017 federal budget proposal allocated NGN364 million (USD1 million) and NGN390 million respectively to establish production lines for the Beryl M762 and AK-47 assault rifles, the latter possibly being a reference to the OBJ-006, a Kalashnikov derivative unveiled by DICON in 2006.

The Beryl M762 is an export variant of the Polish military’s 5.56 mm Beryl wz. 96C service rifle that is chambered in 7.62×39 mm. It has accessory rails, uses standard AK-47 magazines, and has a fire selector with single shot, three-round burst, and full-automatic modes.

I'm even more confused. So they came to abduct the girls to have standing just to be able to negotiate 'cessation of hostilities'. There are unconfirmed reports the last girl is being brought back now. If the end game is to negotiate a ceasefire why does it have to take an abduction and loss of lives to achieve that? why can't the back channels just request that straightup?

This whole thing is absurdly insane.
Terrorism never makes sense.

The Al-Barnawi faction is not as brutal as Shekau's, hence the breakaway in the first place. It was probably as a bargaining tool but then probably went against what majority of that faction believe i.e. no abductions or bombing of Mosques and Churches from what I am led to believe.

At the end of the day, only they themselves know. We can only speculate.

Thank you. Been waiting for real coherent answers. Can you educate me on the end game here? why would ISWAP return the girls without getting anything in return? does that even make any sense? Also why did they leave out one girl, or doesn't the agreement to return the girls cover that one?

The kidnapping was by ISWAP (Al-Barnawi's faction), that's why and not Shekau's.

POSTED 05 DECEMBER 2017

In the present maritime environment, and with the ratifying of various maritime conventions and regulations, training is essential to ensure that industry has personnel that is suitably and adequately trained to meet all the safety and regulatory requirements.

Nautic Africa provides a variety of specialised maritime courses. This past month, Nautic Marine Service Manager Fabio Torrente & Service Training Officer Neil de Villiers undertook two days of product familiarisation training, as well as handover and acceptance testing of the four new 9.5m Guardian Fast Patrol Boats to the Nigerian Special Boat Service in a Navy Base on Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.

The first four vessels delivered are ideally suited to military training of Special Forces, shore to shore operations, rescue and patrol operations, and are part of a consignment of a total of 14 boats to be supplied. The subsequent 10 vessels which are being delivered progressively, are all 8.5m Ballistically Protected Guardian Fast Patrol boats which are ideally suited to either ship to shore, or shore to shore fast patrol and security intervention duties, for both the Nigerian Navy, and the Navy’s Special Boat Services, thereby substantially increasing the capacity and the capability of the Nigerian’s security services in combatting the ever increasing acts of piracy and intimidation in the Gulf of Guinea, and in the Niger Delta.

18 Nigerian Navy SBS, Maintenance and Technical Personnel attended the very successful familiarisation training and vessel acceptance testing event. Nautic offer training and facilitation in the following fields: Diving, Crane Operations, Skipper Training, Welding, Vessel Handling, Vessel familiarisation, Remote Operated vehicles, safety Procedures and On-board Maintenance, and certified STCW Courses

Prototype indeed ..so president now commission prototypes in big ceremonies grin grin abeg stop fooling yourself
I am afraid I am not the one being fooled. The Gulma was never commissioned as an operational UAV. Was never used to support troops in the battlefield by the NAF. The new one is going to now be mass produced being the final product.

And for your info I support neither GEJ or PMB, just the NAF.

obynzo:
But why would there be so much fan fare for a prototype? In Engineering design a prototype is used for testing and modification before rolling out the real thing. The statement by the NAF was just to save face. Because if you go to youtube and check GULMA you would see the control room that was used for the test and also the aircraft itself. I wonder if all that gadgets was all for a prototype, and i know for sure that drone(GULMA) was deployed in combat against boko haram when jonathan postponed the election.
The Gulma & Amebo were never operational with the NAF. They were just prototypes used for development of the current one. You do know you need control rooms for UAVs apart from handheld mini-drones? The Gulma was never used operationally, it was the Chinese UAVs (CH-3). Show me a report of the Gulma being used for operations? You will only find test videos and demonstrations..
PoliticsRe: Buhari Commissions Air Force Drone Jonathan ‘Earlier Launched’ - PDP by rka2: 4:20pm On Feb 16, 2018
Why are there so many dumb people? The earlier UAVs (Amebo, Gulma) were prototypes while this latest incarnation is the first operational UAV in the NAF.

People are not even remembering that Nigeria is not just getting Super Tucanoes but also precision guided missiles and some rocket steering kits called APKWS. Because of APKWS alone, Nigeria is buying cheaper European light choppers 2018 year in place of MI35 ($12m versus $35m). We may get back to MI35M but putting APKWS on AW109/AW139 is an amazingly accurate and cheap way to kill Boko Haram.
It is revolutionary to the ORBAT and operational philosophy of the NAF that we are getting these equipment.
Thanks for the info about the rocket system.

Ibrahimanees:
Finally somebody figured it out, I ve been going through this posts and I swear I ve heard enough of super tucano to last me a life time. Stolen funds were stashed on an island belonging to US, arrangements have been made to transfer the money to Nigeria but US blocked it saying the money is in dollars so they have a claim on it (absurd) we fought tooth and nail then they changed tactics saying unless they or IMF or World Bank are allowed to "manage the money for us" (presumptuous) to avoid mismanagement, it will not be released. So we are virtually paying zero naira for 12 tucanos with infrastructure, training, guided munitions e.t.c. a favourable deal in my opinion.
I can well believe it and the USA's attitude doesn't surprise me.
