Nigerians want nice stuffs but they don't want to pay for it.
This kind of structure is what a serious government should be putting in place.

The people clamouring for the poor seriously miss the point. Are we saying government should build shanties in 2012 because they want to cater for the poor?

Am sure u don't know what it takes 2 construct a road in dat region......it's easier said than done.....!
Can it be done? YES

Is the technology to fix such a road available in Nigeria? YES

Can the government afford it? YES

So what is the reason why such an important road is still bad? Bad government.

People displaying lack of critical reasoning again!
How can the shop owner be held responsible when it was the students reckless driving that lead into collision with the shop in the first place?
If the aciddent had not happened there would not be any encounter with the shop owner. In fact, the shop owner was lucky he/she was not shot, because clearly the killers knew what they were doing and the students presense exposed he/she to danger of been shot with them.

Unless you can prove that a "stationary" shop caused the accident so the students could be killed there. The shop owner is just a witness not an accomplice
Thanks,
But this "idiaat" is a rational human being with the ability to see the other side of things...
the irony of it all is that people like you and some other NLanders who only see things ONE WAY, end up making the same mistake the ALUU killers made.. You don't take ur time to evaluate..
The reason is simple. You barely have brains. What you have underneath your thick skull is a pool of mud. So who am i to blame you ?..
Max-t, stop wasting your time responding to some people. Only very few nairaland members can reason logically. that's why they are very quick to insult or turn threads into comedy (garri crew ).

I still find it hard that people support five young men walking into another mans house in a dangerous terrain with a weapon at odd hours.
They ve told beautiful stories in support of the boys action. They even claimed it was a false alarm that was raised, some also claim the guy lured them to be killed.

Jungle justice is bad, but they all want everyone in the video killed, even when the sister to one of the boys claim she was also in the crowd.

So many questions begging for ans, but unfortunately, we all have a little bit of Aluu in us.

You said, i tried to insult you;in what ways please,do you actually know the difference between a question and an insult.please take this example and relate it to what i said:you are a goat and are you a goat? Are they the same. as for the side of story i base, you will need to go back to my first post and read what the guy stated and go through my quote from the guys post and come back to where you quoted me with a cofused statement then you will find out if am on anyone side.i don't repeat myself unless on important notes, just go back to the post that brought my comment. i pick points and do my explanation so as far as am concern you have no points to be picked, let alone doing any explanation for you.even if i should break your head and put all my explantions inside,it will never be useful cos you have no points to be picked.sorry just try another person like you,he/she might give you what you are looking for. I wonder what you meant by if i should beleive? I don't comment because others are commenting,i comment when i have important message to pass accross. So please check who that comment you made was meant for, unless you use so many ids here then i will understand. And by the way, were you there when the guys went there to know they went fully loaded with weapons but i wonder why they didn't show us the pictures of the loaded weapons or is there something else you know, you will like the police to know about.just curious cos i can read the hand writing on your wall. You better ask someone to wake you up from this sleep unless you are from Aluu trying to defend a brother then is a normal thing.
Lack of logic/critical thinking. Everthing you typed up there is simply based on emotions. I can see that you also tried so hard from insulting me.

Obvious flaws in your write up are:

- You assumed I am from Aluu.
- You think you can not be wrong. The Aluu murderes also thought the boys were guilty ( do u now see the similarity between you and the murderers )
- You want a picture of the weapon? Who will send that? What version of the story did you base your conclusion on.
- Were you also there to know if they were not carrying a weapon? Logically, I can conclude they were. The weapon and because they were in numbers is the major reason they were bold enough to go into a cultist house in the middle of the night.

proO1: The tyranny of the majority is in full swing, and it is disgraceful to say the least. It's now so bad that the obtuse mods had to bar my regular handle from commenting on this topic, because they assumed that my opinion wouldn't sheepishly align with that of the majority!

JP Phillips made very valid postulations on this matter, and I'm not surprised that most posters are baying for his blood - just like the Aluu mob they hypocritically loathe - simply because he dares to hold a different view.

The fact remains that the police are playing to the gallery in this matter, as I suspected they would. The overly sentimental and illogical public outcry from the outset had already compromised the investigations and guranteed that there could only be ONE outcome - an outcome that appeals to the biased sensibilities of the public.

Most people already blindly and stubbornly presumed these 'fine boys' were innocent from the beginning, without bothering to ask/care about anything else. The current IGP is a man who prides himself as a media sweetheart; a man who is a master in the art of ingratiating himself with the public, and swimming with the tide of public opinion. As such, it would tarnish his public image if he 'allows' the investigation reveal anything that even remotely negates what the tyrannical majority already believe. If the IGP finds out that these boys were cultists, and that they in fact went with a gun to extort/threaten a fellow student, he would BURY that evidence simply because that is not what the public wants to hear. He is condemned to feed the public with only what they prefer to hear.

Now, how on earth is the said Coxson Lerebori a "mastermind" of anything? Have the police proved that he PLANNED the boys' murder by luring them to his house at midnight and colluding with the local mob to kill all four of them? If he simply raised the JUSTIFIED alarm that some cultists were subjecting him to violence in his own house, and then local vigilantes intervened to rescue him from his tormentors, how on earth does that make him a mastermind of anything? The world is truly a terrible place, considering how biased and deliberately blind-to-reason most people can be!
Majority of nairaland members can not reason logicaly.
Simple logic should tell us he didnt lure them into his house at odd hours, in an environment guarded by dangerous vigilante.
Also, why won't he raise an alarm? He was not expecting any vistor and they were harmed.

mavinc4u: i decided not to comment on this issue of Aluu4 cos i needed to understand what happened before doing so but
let me correct you on some things wrong with your comment- in Nigeria,if anybody is owing you and proving stubborn to pay or you hardly meet the person at home, the best time to go and meet the person at home is very early in the morning so those guys going there early is a normal thing.

2.didn't you read where they said the debtor is from Aluu and he is a cultist too- so i wonder how a vigilante would listen to them,if you had said school security officer,it would be understandable though it wouldn't help cos the guy in question is a cultist so i believed that was why those guys went for a cultist for assistance.

3.if truly the fifth person went with a gun,he did it base on the fact that he had carried its investigation and found out that the debtor is a cultist that doesn't mingle with his members,so at that two things must dey involve.

4.if those people tha said those guys are cultist,i doubt it cos base on the story we were given,it said one of the guys shot a gun in the air before he could escape which means if those guys were cultists as well, they should understand the sign of gun shot in the air and must escape with the gun guy,if not the person would be killed by gun man inorder not to expose them.i think we should follow all information given so far before commenting. No offence
Your argument is completely flawed.
Four young innocent boys went into a dangerous terrain to collect a debt from a known cultist with a loaded weapon at 5am in the morning. If you believe this you can believe anything!

smtx: What emotions are talking about in your first para.?
Did you see the guns or arms paraded anywhere? Dont base your facts on hearsay...
If your answer to jungle Justice is NO! Then what is your point? Why the argument?
What facts are you basing your arrest and prosecution of the arrested man on? Since all the boys involved are dead, every story told concerning the reason they are there becomes heresay.

Moukafoam: Did you see τhe guy with a loaded gun? undecided

Can you be bold enough to walk into Ť☺ AIGs office aŋԂ repeat what you have just said?

Men are so quick to yarn tongue
Can you be bold enough to walk into AIG's office to explain what five boys are doing at 5am in another mans house?
What proof do you have that they are there to collect a debt? What proof do you also have that a gun was not carried?
How did a simple debt collection process degenerate into a serious mess that lead to brutal murder of four?
Did they run when the alarm was raised?
Did the debtor want them dead before? He could have just said ''these are my friends'' and everything will be fine?
How did the situation become chaotic? If they were calm and right in the debtors house when the vigilante came, the outcome maybe different.

What most of us also did not think of is the fact that they were given an opportunity to explain there mission to the village head. Their story must be so unconvincing for the village head to sanction their death ( if it is true he actually did). All the time they were being moved around, how come not a single soul recognised or put a call through to people that could help their case?

There are many loopholes in the story told to favor the guys.

THE ONLY SET OF PEOPLE THAT DESERVE PROSECUTION ARE THE GUYS DIRECTLY INVOLVED IN KILLING THE BOYS. EVERYOTHER PERSON CAN ACTUALY PROVE THEIR CASE AND WALK FREE, INCLUDING THE VILLAGE HEAD.

..... the boys are brutally murdered and it is absolutely wrong. But trying to exonorate them from wrong doing by maikng them look like saints ia purely based on emotions.

Are they aremed? YES

Are the there to robb or collect debt? Can not be proven by anyone here.

Are they cultist? Can also not be proven beyond reasonable doubt but a strong case can be made.

Are the killers guilty of murder? Yes

DO we have to apply jungle justice to Aluu? NO

Was a fasle alarm raised? NO

Lesson to be learned from all these:
Students should face there studies in school and good kids should not keep known bad company for any reason (the armed cultist).
The Nigerian police has failed completely in protecting the people, our government needs to wake up.

Most importantly, I HAVE ALSO LEARNT A LOT OF PEOPLE BEHIND NAIRALAND ID'S CAN ALSO KILL IF THEY FEEL IT IS RIGHT LIKE THE ALUU COMMUNITY DID.

Alarm was raised by the home owner and NAIRALAND MEMBERS CLAIMED HE RAISED FALSE ALARM! Are we dumb or we are just responding based on emotions or just being hyrocritical like most people are on this site.

HE DIDN'T RAISE ANY FALSE ALARM. The question a right thinking person should ask is, WHAT ARE FOUR "PROCLAIMED INOCCENT" FRIENDS DOING TOGETHER AT THAT TIME OF THE DAY IN THE COMPANY OF A GUY WITH A GUN IN A DNAGEROUS TERRAIN?

Politics › Re: Tinubu Is The MAJOR Problem Of Lagos State by rman: 8:06am On Oct 15, 2012
I may be wrong but my opinion on all these Tinubu rants on Nairaland is:

PDP controls majority of Nigerian states except Lagos state since 1999.
During Tinubu's period as governor, Lagos without fedral allocation just happen to be one of the few states with serious signs of progress and well laid down plans in the southwest.
Other southwestern states decided to vote for ACN ( Mind you, southwest is the only region that have rotated massively between PDP and AC/ACN. No other region have done this). Only a blind man, or an hypocrite will deny the massive projects going on and scattered all over Lagos. Two bridges ( Lekki to Ikoyi, the link bride in VI) will be delivered to Lagos Island alone.

No PDP state is moving at the current rate Lagos is moving and we can all testify to what Oshiomole is doing in EDO. Is EDO state giving money to Tinubu too? At least I know EDO is not really yoruba.

ALL THESE TINUBU HATRED IS BASED ON THE FACT SOME PEOPLE ARE SAD AND PAINED THAT THE ONLY POSITIVE THING IN NIGERIAN POLITICS TODAY IS NOT COMING FROM THE PDP OR DOES NOT BELONG TO A CERTAIN ETHIC GROUP IN NIGERIA. They dont really hate Tinubu, they hate the fact that with all his anticedents he has Lagos, Fashola and probably a few other states that in southwest moving in a positive direction.

Which one is a political road again?
Did anyone prevent you as a poor man from driving on Lekki express?
When Fashola fixed Oshodi, did he do it for the elites too? Is osohodi express a political road too?
Is badagry express (under contruction) a political road too?
How I wish the FG can make Lagos Ibadan, PH to Enugu, Ilorin to Bida , Lokoja to Abuja political (good) like lekki express.

Untill I visit Akwa Ibom, I dont want to believe your Akpabio hype. I read all the time about how great Amechi has transformed PH. I am currently in PH and with what I have seen in the last two weeks of moving around, development and projects going on in PH doesnt even come close to Lagos. THE MODERNIZED PRIMARY SCHOOLS TRUMP WHAT IS IN LAGOS BY MILES SHA.

I don't know what you meant by people are dying in Lagos, is there some king of epidemic disease or a natural disaster in Lagos? People must really be dying in Lagos for more and more people to continue tropping daily into this death zone.

And for those that claim Kano has the highest population in Nigeria, that is the biggest political fraud done by the north because of revenue sharing. I always believed it too until work took me to KANO for a few months. My job includes visiting all the LG in the state and I can authoritatively tell you that Lagos has more people than Kano. Yes, Kano is big with a large population but Lagos with its smaller land mass has more people.
