Romance › Re: Why Are Some Men This Heartless? Now I Hate Men! by rman: 3:26am On Jan 05, 2013
It is wrong for a guy to use another girls picture on his FB profile and tell his GF it means nothing.

I am absolutely sure the OP fell for the good looks, smooth talk and swag of this guy.

Even if the guy isn't cheating, which I seriously doubt, it is clear that he isn't so serious about the relationship.

How come it is guys with all these secrets, and I don't care attitudes that our "good girls" go for?
No body is making Fashola look bad. People are actually trying to hold LASG accountable the same way folks try to hold the FG accountable. This is what normal people do in democracy.
Have you wondered how much Fashola spend on feeding per day, his security vote and why the FOI bill has not beem domesticated by LASG? It is everybody's responsibility in a democracy not to see their leaders as gods but as imperfect mortals hence the need to always remind them of their responsibilities, question their priorities and demand accountability.
Ok.
Politics › Re: What Is Lagos Doing With Its Subsidy Removal Fund? by rman: 9:52am On Jan 03, 2013
PDP crew on NL are trying to sell GEJ/FG

ACN crew are trying to sell Fashola.

If you have been in Nigeria for past 8years where both men have been in politics or held political positions, who do you think have the better product?
Politics › Re: What Is Lagos Doing With Its Subsidy Removal Fund? by rman: 9:41am On Jan 03, 2013
The pro GEJ/ PDP crew are now ridiculing the same FG they love with their posts

Isn't strange that Lagos state is held so high by these goons, that it is expected to deliver what the FG couldnt? Whereas Lagos gets a large chunk of its revenue from the same FG.

Since the FG crew have nothing to show for being power, they are now so fixated on the only state where significant progress is being made.

If I were sincernigerian, I will quit all these Lagos/Fashola rants on NL. The more you try to make Fashola look bad, the better advertisement you indirectly give to him.

LAGOS ACTUALLY DO HAVE A LOT TO SHOWCASE IN TERMS OF DELIVERY AND ACHIVEMENTS.

It is so sad that SINCERENIGERIAN now thinks if he can make Fashola look bad on NL, maybe the anti GEJ crew will also back off. Thats too petty IMO.

Akpan107: May God protect our President! Even if he is doing nothing, atleast, for the fact that, power is not in the hands of those who hate us with passion, i am very happy. coming 2015 my vote with that of my family woudl go to Mr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. God bless Nigeria and Nigerians. I pass him 90per cent!
Power is useless when you do not know what to do with it.

Education › Re: Are Smartphones Affecting Our Written And Spoken English Skills? by rman: 5:22pm On Dec 29, 2012
Yes, it is having a negative effect on written English.

I have read officials mails with these abbrevtions: urs, plz, u .

I just told my mananger that we need to change our recruitment test from multiple choice questions only. How did we end up with lazy writters?

Even a mail of just two pragraphs and six sentences will be abbrevated by these peeps.

I will overlook it in chats but in official documents, I simply tag the individual lazy.
Islam › Re: Your Thoughts On A Combined Wedding/Nikkai Ceremony by rman: 3:29pm On Dec 28, 2012
I don't see anything wrong with it.

A few homes in the SW(YORUBA) started like this ( muslim marrying a christian ), and the marriages have been successful with both spouses maintaining their religious beliefs.

A lot of christian/christain marriges have failed while we also have a lot of muslim/muslim marriages that have failed too.

If you feel religion is key to the success of your marriage then it will play a key role. Those that don't want it to play a key role will still have successful marriages.

It is the individuals involved that determines the success of their union. We are just too pre-occupied with religion and societal expectation instead of happiness and living life to the fullest. A lot of people married the wrong people while jettisoning a great LOVE/RELATIONSHIP due to religious differences.

The couple in the OP post are teaching and showing us what religious tolerance and true love is. Everyone that claims they will never marry someone from another religion is simply a regious bigot that can not tolerate other people religious beliefs.

I don't see anything wrong with it.

My brothers and I played with the one that sticks on walls and water guns when we were young. We all turned out right and none of us has held a real gun as adults. And I know that there are millions of kids that had toys guns like us as kids that never held the real thing as adults. Therefore, I dont think it has any negative effect on kids

I can see some are trying too hard to make it a yoruba vs Ibo thread again.

The title is quite simple and straight forward. The OP didn't claim Osogbo is the new London, so I find it really sad that on the second page someone is already uploading pictures of Owerri.

A lot of the tribal bigots are so petty and shallow

Obama wept and it became news,it is a strange sight to see an American president with tears rolling down while delivering a speech, that is why it became news .......Patience Jonathan wept and it also became news in Nigeria, the underlying reason why this is news is political to me.......The first family in Nigeria is always trying twist our mind with all this '' yeye '' news.
BH alone had killed thousands including kids and only an accident involving a governor could bring tears to the first family....... I am not buying it

RIM will surely close the gap a little with this device.

SG3, NOKIA lumina 920 and Iphone5 are the best phone outthere right now, but this BB10 will surely compete.

All the reviews for BB10 have been good do far.

GEJ is a very smart man.
He knows Nigerians have been brainwashed with religion, and with this singular act, all sins are forgiven. At least millions of Christians will vote for him. Why wont they? Did almighty daddy GO Adeboye not annoint him infront of millions of Nigerians. Jonathan must be the choosen one even if the reality on ground says things are not improving.

THIS IS A BIG POLITICAL MOVE AND IT STILL BAFFLES ME PEOPLE DIDNT SEE IT AS SUCH

Sports › Re: Delta Crowned Winners Of Eko 2012 by rman: 6:05pm On Dec 10, 2012
The states that pay athlethes the most always come tops. The medals table is just a reflection of that.

Top athletes always represent states that give the highest reward for medals won.

A very good swimmer can win up to 9 gold medals (it has happened at the festival before), a state like delta approaches such an athlete, pay him/her salaries for a year and also give proper monetery reward for medals won at the festival. If I am the Nigerian version of ''Michael Phelps'', I would rather represent a state like Delta or Rivers that treats athlethes fine.

Another factor is where the national coach for a particular association is based. For example, if the national badmiton coach is from kwara and you are one of the best in the country, if he approaches you to represent Kwara, it will be difficult to turn him/her down. You will be workng with him all year anyway.

Lastly, states that don't have proper facilities/stadiums always lose their better athlethes to states that have. Kwara once dominated baseball/softball at the festival due to the baseball park in ilorin (it has been abandoned now). A lot of states dont have olympic size swimming pools etc. Such states can never ever do well at thefestival.

Travel › Re: The Growing Beauty Of Lagos (pics) by rman: 11:55pm On Nov 27, 2012
I can't not believe some people are trying to rubbish this beautiful thread.

What exactly is their point?

Some people can not reason objectively anymore unless from a tribal angle ( AFAM )

It is only a fool that will say the current Lagos is not better organised with improved development than what it was 12yrs ago.

Finally, there is no developed city in the world without slums.

I was in BEIJING ( hope the spelling is correct ) when it won the most beautiful city in the world in 2002 and I saw slums in some areas.

@ ROSSIKE, THANK YOU FOR THE PICS
Family › Re: How Do You Forgive And 'forget'? **A True Life Story** by rman: 1:58pm On Nov 27, 2012
Forgive and forget is a hoax.

People forgive, YES, but we rarely forget especially when yo comes to matters of the heart.

I always believe people should also be made to live with the consequences of their actions.

The woman should have left the marriage immediately she was caught ( this is not a BF/GF relationship ).

Forgeting in this case is telling the man to go back and act exactly the way he was acting before he caught the wife. Common guys, that is totally impossible.

Sports › Re: Eko 2012: National Sports Festival Opening Ceremony Today by rman: 10:24am On Nov 27, 2012
afam4eva: You're right...

I don't think elite athletes should be part of the festival. Infact there should be an age range of maybe 16 to 25.

The NSF has to make clear the athletes that should represent a particular state. Because a state like Lagos can boast of athletes from all over the country. Should it bee based on state of origin or state of residence or adopted state? It has to be made clear.
Strictly by state of residence. You have to be living in the state for a specified period of time.

No one truly follows up on this rule so you will see athletes competing for states they know nothing about. All the states with money are guilty of this, includng Lagos.
