A particular man named Goodluck Jonathan came into power and he has successfuly divided Nigeria along ethnic line more than any other president in Nigeria's history.
As terrible as the military rulers, OBJ and Yaradua was, they still managed to carry all regions/ethnics along.
Those supporting GEJ blindly because he is from their tribe/region and feels to hell with whatever others feel or think,
Will soon get all they asked for.
IT IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME.

Based on the replies, the OP can see it is a function of coverage and operational challenges been experienced at any given time by the service providers
What I will suggest is go for the operator that has a very good customer service, very low down times and good coverage in your area.

Haba people!
Some of these dudes are not as bad as we all have tried to make them look
Yes, I wont call the standard high but the photographers didn't do a professional job on them

I can boldly say, more than half are indeed good looking guys

All the girls on this site are indeed fake. Claiming their BF's are better looking, are you all dating models?

IMO, except from a very few of them, I can see at least 7 guys that are better looking than the average black man world wide.

SO FUNNY

cheesy
Okija Priest: Yup!! cheesy

He was one of the family. He was an English Cocker Spaniel named rover. Was born and raised and trained in the United Kingdom.. Was brought back to Nigeria and he immediately fell sick. I remember visiting him in the hospital, looking into his cute teary eyes and praying he would recover. At last he did after spending over 2 weeks on admission and over 50 Thousand in treatment.. So he became one of the family, would play and lick everyone who bothered to look and smile in his direction.. There was never a dull moment with rover until one fateful day..

My landlord was a retired Military man and he had a beautiful white-furred dog. She was a Papillon. He loved this dog so much.. Oneday, our landlord came back home to find my Cocker Spaniel joined at the hip with his Papillon.. I heard his voice screaming 'OKIJA!! OKIJA!!! Your dog is r'aping my dog' I rushed out the house in my boxer shorts, and saw both dogs looking as guilty as that 'Kenyan man that was caught with black magic fhucking another mans wife' He got so mad that he immediately ran into his house and came out with a Winchester single barrel 12 guage shotgun, aimed at my dog and said he would shoot on the count of 5 if I didnt get Rover off of his dog... Started to count to 0 from 5... I screamed and begged Rover to stop fhucking his dog but Rover couldnt help himself... 3....2....1....BOOM!!! My landlord shot rover in the leg.. Blood everywhere.. They came apart... His dog scampered to safety of beneath is Volkswagen Santana.. Mine layed there howling in a pool of blood.. I checked his wounds.. It was hopeless... I knew he would die for certain... My Landlord issued me a caveat on Dogs in his compound.. I was lost.

Just then my Akwa Ibom girlfriend was staying over.. she rushed out at the sound of the gun.. Saw me crying and hugged me saying 'Honey!! Its okay'.. I carried Rover into the house, hosed him down and left him in my bathtub to bleed to death... Rushed a bath to wash the blood off me and went to sleep.. When I woke up, my girlfriend had prepared some sweet rice and peppersoup.. She said I should eat and I will feel okay!! I did and the food was so sweet.. The meat tasted so sweet.. I even asked for seconds.. When I was done, composed and relaxed, I stood up and went to take Rover out for burial.. entering the bathroom, I found that he wasnt there.. I asked Ekaette where he was and she said 'He is in your stomach".. I screamed!! WHAT!!!!!! She said yes!!! He is in your stomach and the remaining is in the pot... I fainted!!

Anyways.. I miss my Dog, he was a friend, companion and sweet delicacy..

RIP Rover.. 1997 - 2000.

lastpage: Let me use this moment to appeal to all "GOOD" Muslims and Northerners especially:
*Dont allow these animals to fight on your behalf
*Dont just "deny" them, DENOUNCE AND EXPOSE THEM!.
*Dont shelter them
*Dont give them financial support
*Dont swell their ranks

Finally, PROVE TO ALL NIGERIANS, that you are "the good people" that l know some of you are.
Dont let the stain of the blood of the innocent, be on your hands, on your heads and in your lands.
Let the Muslim leaders (Umars and Ulamars in the mosques) speak to their members about these things
Let the Emirs and other leaders in the North, put a stop to these blood-letting! Speak to your people OPENLY!

As for Southerners, you are not known for wanton destruction of life and property.
You are known for hospitality and friendliness.
You are God fearing and hard-working!

I hardly comment on BH issues on nairaland, but your post has really shown we still have smart people on nairaland.

THIS IS THE VERY BEST RESPONSE I HAVE READ CONCERNING ANY BH ISSUE ON THIS SITE

Would you become "so weak" (morally and spiritually) so much so that you will become Evil, just because Boko Haram wants you to be so?
Overcome Evil, not with Evil but with SMARTNESS!
Killing those innocent Northerners/Muslims who have lived with us and become our friends, would not bring back the dead killed by Boko Haram,
IT WILL ONLY SHOW THAT WE ARE NOT BETTER!
BUT WE ARE and we need to show it.

Lastpage!

BTW: I am of Christian faith and from the South West.
Education › Re: Unillorin Tops Ibadan In April University Rankings At VNTI by rman: 2:35pm On May 04, 2012
solomon111: Actually,UNILORIN produces half baked graduates(with respect to Nigerian standards) due to the fact that they are always trying to maintain their position as the school with the fastest calendar in the country at the expense of their students.
I have met loads of them, and with all due respect to UNILORIN, they are nothing to write home about.
I know a company that gives preference to UI and UNIBEN graduates before any other school, due to the standards they have always tried to maintain, regardless of the pace of the calendar.
How did you arrive at your conclusion Mr Fully Baked graduate?
A good and well executed accademic calendar is part of a good university structure.
Universities in UK and US must be producing half baked graduates based on your assertion

Politics › Re: Why Do Nigerians Use Shocking Titles? by rman: 4:43pm On May 02, 2012
You just elaborated my point in the bolded.

tunene: I find this very interesting especially how people say what they do not know. People that have nothing to do with engineering come here and talk about the title "engr".

Sorry, being a member of NSE does not make you a registered engineer. NSE is a society with different cadres – students, graduates, corporate, associate and fellow. Corporate members are those who qualify to be registered by COREN (usually with 4years or more experience) but until you register with COREN you are not a registered engineer and cannot use the title Engr.

How did you know, simply because you are a lawyer or a doctor does not give you the right to assume. COREN the body created by FGN to regulate engineering practice in Nigeria stipulates that "A Registered Engineer shall use the abbreviation "Engr" before his name", this says shall and not should, may or could. Because engineers are modest and prefer to keep their titles does not make the Title "engr" improper. For those interested in links see below: http://coren.gov.ng/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=52&Itemid=83

Somebody even said Nigerians are dumb because of titles. Na wa o, if you do not like Naija, you can simply change to Niger or Somolia and I am sure you would then not be associated with dumb people; as if the use of titles is localised to Nigeria. He even called the titles, shocking. What is shocking about Dr and Dr (mrs).
Politics › Re: Why Do Nigerians Use Shocking Titles? by rman: 11:20am On May 02, 2012
Obiagu1: Unfortunately, Engr. does not exist. Just don't argue that.
In Nigeria, if you are NSE and COREN certified, you can be referred to as "Engr"

Whoever believes Barcelona will not score at nou camp is seriously delusional.

The question is , how many will they score?

You can't allow your opponents to keep possession of the ball 70% of the time and expect them not to score over two legs
Igbos are pride of Africa.
Hakeem Olajuwon was selected number one overall in the NBA draft in 1984.
He won the NBA title and playoffs MVP in 1995
He is one of the top 5 centres in the history of basketball, to ever play the game
Hakeem grew up in Lagos Nigeria.

Ogbunike was born and raised in AMERICA
We should be proud of her but bringing all these Igbo talks into it is kinda funny.

What Olajuwon did as a youruba boy born and raised in Lagos is much more unique than what Ogbunike, a Nigerian American just achieved, and yourba peeps didnt make this much tribal related statements.

toba: islamic fundamentalist at it again.

What u should agitate for is the adoption of ISLAMIC CALENDER rather than the one we currently use.

Only God knows how some folks reason. virtually everywhere in the world same thing is being practised, but some folks wants a change. BS
I hope you know the current practise is based on christian practise.
In some countires friday and saturday are weekends while people go to work on Sundays.

I am not saying things should be changed as it is in Nigeria, but your quick attack on the OP and Islam is wrong.
If we all preach religious tolerance as we pretend to do in Nigeria, both muslims and christians should look at issues objectively and analyze it based on its merits and fairness.
That, you have not done.

MTN this MTN that on nairaland.
Everytime anything about MTN comes up on nairaland, it makes it straight to the front page
Everyone claims they no longer use MTN around two weeks ago but when a topic about missing credits on MTN sims was on the front page, responses got to seven pages on nairaland in 24hrs

Network performance in Nigeria is basically tied to hw good their services are in your location.
In some places it is Airtel, in some GLO while in some Etisalat.

All these negative comnents about MTN is enough.
The power to choose is strictly in your hands. It is a competitive market not a monopoly
Family › Re: How & Why Do Siblings Fall Apart? by rman: 2:42pm On Apr 09, 2012
As we all grow up and become more matured and the realities of life set in, it is bound to happen.
Unless they all live in the same environment and have interest in exactly the same stuffs, growing apart is pretty normal.
Another major reason is if what is holding them together like parents or grandparents pass away, the need to see one another wil surely reduce.

Some don't fight or hate one another, they just grow up.

@OP

GO AND MARRY!!!

Don't listen to all these kids on nairaland telling to keep or fight the urge at 28yrs
You claimed you are through with studies and stuffs so what else should you be doing than dating and having fun.

In fact, those telling you to avoid men, erotic stuffs and romantic stuffs want you to have a miserable sex life.
I find it funny when some are eveb suggesting fasting and prayers.
They should have fasted and prayed to God to prevent the feminine features from manifesting when they were growing since virginity seems to be a kind of ultimate goal.

At this stage of your life, you should be thinking of losing it fast sef.
Phones › Re: Did MTN Remove N100 Airtime From You, Or More? by rman: 7:18pm On Apr 06, 2012
MTN carried out a planned job on one of their core nodes last night and the job was not successful
The outcome of the failed job is an erroneous deduction of air time from subscribers on their network.

They have since rolled back and currently compiling how much was deducted erroneously from each subscriber which must be given back.

No operator will just balantly remove subscribers credit like that across board.

It is just unfortunate but this is not a delibrate thing as people are making it look
Phones › Re: Did MTN Remove N100 Airtime From You, Or More? by rman: 3:41pm On Apr 06, 2012
This is unfortunate.
It was due to technical fault on their core network.
Every kobo removed in error will be refunded

But this thread is a direct opposite of other threads about MTN where everyone says they don't use MTN or no longer recharge their MTN lines.
Phones › Re: Airtel, Etisalat ,MTN , GLO - The Best Network In Nigeria? by rman: 12:42pm On Apr 06, 2012
Mukina,

Why not use these metrics to judge:

1) Availability of the netwrok (These include coverage area}, People can tell what their experience are in remote areas of the country
2) Quality of the netwrok ( Call success rate and clarity of calls)
3) Tariffs
4) Products ( eg, Family and friends MTN, Club 10 airtel, home zone Etisalat etc). Who has the most products and how flexible is it.
5) Data quality ( BB, Modems etc). How good each operators own is.
6) Customer service and
7) Corporate social responsibility

You can put all of these on a scale of 1 - 10 and let people judge.

Otherwise, what you are going to get will not be a true reflection of who is the best
