The shareholders get to vote to accept the offer, so I believe it can be turned down if reasonably low
Which shareholders? or which meeting? meeting that would be deliberately be made onerous (just like the petition also. Isnt the right thing to do when they were served with the court paper for the petition to inform SEC immediately so that other minority shareholders that are interested in the case can be asked to be joined to the petition/case?)

i beggiiiii

The court became a father Christmas in this instance by granting the relief that was not sought.
That is the more reason why shareholders (that are also lawyers) should appeal the decision / or get another court to stop the DAYLIGHT ROBERRY.

Apparently, 14 minority shareholders petitioned the court asking that OANDO to buy the entire 43% shares of OANDO belonging to thousands of minority shareholders. How stupid could things really get?? And the so called court agreed. If at all the remaining thousands of shareholders agree to this forceful takeover, will they pay the highest share price that OANDO ever recorded??
They know Nigerians are docile set of people. Among the other Shareholders that are being shortchanged would be several lawyers. what stop one or two of them from also approaching a court to get an injunction against the DAYLIGHT ROBERRY they (OODP) intend to perpetrate. and in conjunction with the injunction write several petitions to all necessary state organs (NSE/SEC/NASS e.t.c). Even much more petitioning JSE (so the issue can become international cause most of the institution in country are compromised) because Oando is also listed on JSE.

Everything sure look planned out. Since they mentioned "......and other information" or so, I knew they are planning something, but I'd thought they wanted to surprise with dividend, not knowing it's delisting.

Anyway, I think your gamble shouldn't exceed 5.50.........in case the exit price is N6....... especially with the loss recorded in released results so far.
the release of the negative result (all at once) is part of the scare tactics

And you can also be rest assured that the 14 minorities wld have received their own cut

By then, Oil had not gone to 100+ Seplat was even selling below 500 then.
If mangal knew oil would get this high, he for no gree.
i agree with you, however considering the antecedent of OODP (and its promoters) i doubt if anything substantially different from the Mangal price would be offered EXCEPT (which is a big except) some minority shareholders is ABLE to pour sand sand for their garri (and be a pain in the neck for them ( OODP (and its promoters))

What is the buyout price?
no price yet. i guess that wld be determined at the EGM but as a guide, u can take the fact that Mangal was OFFICIALLY paid 6 naira per share for his stake by same OODP in resolving their logjam with him (i.e. Mangal)

I think the clause "along with other corporate actions" may be one of the reasons for the interest, maybe insiders are buying, have some info, or are positioning for possible positive outcome.......

Have you noticed that the bid appears everyday?

Have you noticed it is never filled?

Have you noticed it is always adjusting itself to between 0.5 and N1 below the trading price automatically?

If the bid was serious, it would have been filled over three weeks now.

Thats a manipulative bid
Ok thanks i now understand your point

However given all the above i would rather take it to be a floor that the MM is not willing to let it go for now (instead of outrightly looking at it as manipulative) but if any supplier (particularly institutional investor) feel the MM is wrong they can always dismantle the wall considering that they (institutional investor) typically have more than the wall holding. My take though might be naive

Thank all the same, appreciate

The true Bid-Ask Volume spread for UBA is N3m or less.

Dont be deceived by the picture you see on the floor.

This stock wins the award for the most manipulated stock on NGX (both in trade and in financial reporting)
Chief i want to learn

is it because of the 27m at 7.90 you said it is being manipulated?

if so, other stocks (particularly banking) also most of d time have some price point with outsized offer, so it is not limited to UBA alone

example i think abt 7m unit was available at some point on Zenith yesterday around 24-24.05 but at a point supply was release at that price point and it eventually went down to 23.80

someone could also release supply at 7.90 if they believe the price is fair enough

or what are your thinking, i would appreciate if you share

Two things happened this February 2022 which could decide the fate of the USD.

First, Biden will use confiscated Afghanistan reserve for aid relief to the people of Afghanistan and also using the fund to pay 9/11 victims.

Secondly, sanctions on Russian central bank preventing them from using dollar for transactions. And blocking some of their reserves.

What could go wrong?

Will other sovereigns think that their funds can be seized and they liquidate as fast as possible once there is any disagreement with US? Once this thought enters their heads, dollar will have a catastrophic fall because the holders of the US debt will have no other option than to sell.

Reviewing my target for Brent from $220 to $300. Don't expect a straight line rise.

Gold needs to rise till it gets to $4,500.

NSE ASI 100K target still remains.

I have liked your post but let me play devils advocate. What Asset is big enough to accommodate such large scale liquidation of US debt considering that the sale actually will be an exchange of Assets.

The point above had always been the issue with US Debt held by other sovereign / nationals

My Oga, at 15 i wont even leave d one that i have EXCEPT i see a very knocked down price of another asset i want to buy with the proceed.

because at 15 that is a yield of 10% (which is not that common in this market) then if you add the fact that going by the last 4 years history of the coy, the current dividend is sure to grow (lets say to N2 within the next 2 years) that would give a potential yield of 13.3% @15, hmmmmmmm how many other stocks could possibly yield thathuhhuhhuhhuh?/

I was expecting a bonus also since its a growing company and it is expected that a 10% increase in outstanding shares wld not negatively impact the future EPS ceteri paribus when examined historically.

But as u said the 1.50 was also a good and pleasant surprise. it is well

This is an Investment thread and we deal with figures, units of shares, amount invested, interest rates on our loans, profits from our trades, percentage gain, dividend yield, portfolio..

Different strokes for different folks.

The figures motivate those who are seeing improvements in their portfolios and growing their wealth but annoys those who are only making money for their Stockbrokers and can't point to any tangible wealth they have been able create trading in shares for ages
Pa Emma the post was not about you hence my opening it with a vouch for your reputation. i am only trying to offer a friendly advice to the Oga. There are plenty of wolves in public space (this forum inclusive and this is not a malign to anybody character). i do all my investment stuff by myself also (with info sourced from the public and professionals) and God has been more than faithful. Nonetheless, it doesnt take away that there are wolves out there that would pounce on others if they are not careful enough (example with the kind of info / figure posted by the Oga, if true anyway)

@pa elder Emma,
Many thanks for your feedback and suggestions, I'm currently with my brother, we worked up his dividends in 2021 financial year, total dividends earned was N3,433,221. Compared with my portfolio that earned N9,770,127.55k, as at November 2021, my portfolio was N96.7M, I made additional investments in Dangote cement and MTNN from December 2021 to February 2022.
The issue at hand now is that he does not want to rebalance at a loss and buying blue chip stocks at the current exorbitant prices.
He agreed to reduce the portfolio to maximum of 30 equities.
Also agreed to retain the stocks that mirror my portfolio, while disposing 43 that are the worst of the 73 stocks in his portfolio.
Also plan to invests all dividends of year 2022 in a fixed income assets.
He is seeking the expertise of a professional who can rebalance his portfolio at a cost.
Please if you know any1, kindly share your email on this platform for further discussion.
I do not have the knowledge to rebalance my brother portfolio, kind of giving me headache.
I recommend a professional stock guru/investor to do the task. Pls if you are available, you are needed.
Brokerage statement and current cscs statement will be made available
Pa Emma is a very knowledgeable, veteran and trustworthy member of this thread and forum in general, so this is not about Pa Emma, but i would implore you to be very wary of other wolves / people out there that can jump on this your info and do u damage. the info is too much for a public forum and you might want to edit / delete some (if the info are true anyway)

My candid advice is to walk into any reputable stockbroking/ financial firm (we have a lot of them like UCAP / Meristem / Investment One / FBN Merchant/ Stanbic IBTC e.t.c) to seek a solution to your challenges which they would do justifiably and at reasonable charges

n.b i dont work nor am i associated (other than as a customer) to any of the firms mentioned.

For foreign investors it could be they are moving fund to better market.Pls what could be the reason for pension fund manager. Is it the hadco thing or what?
I am heavy here since the time of #10.90
As said by Onegentleguy @10.90 entry (with some dividend having been earned since then) i dont see the reason for your exit except if u have an emergency

That said, the premium of GT over Zenith had always been predicated on two factors i.e. better efficiency and better Corporate Governance (perception) of GT over Zenith. These two factors are currently being challenged by the pivot into holdco by GT hence the negative impact on price.

The corporate governance is being challenged because a sizeable number of investors believe that the pivot into a holdco is just a ruse by Agbaje to perpetrate himself beyond the 10 year rule by CBN ( as done by the Baloguns in FCMB with the elevation of Ladi from being the Bank MD to the Group (holdco) MD), which IF TRUE is a massive negative dent on the perceived top notch corporate governance perception of GT.

On efficiency, the pivot into holdco is also negatively impactin the bottomline of GT in form of extra expense that comes with such transformation (which ideally should be largely temporary) but more importantly also the slow down it brings to business (hence drop in revenue) because of the attention that is required from executive to pull the pivot through (marketshare which might not be recoverable).

n.b i dont own GT but might be willing to accumulate if entry is better than current price to compensate for elevated risk

In my opinion, even at current price a 50% plus rise before yearend expecially if they increase dividend again is very likely, maybe #1 plus in dividends per share.

To be clear, I didn't study their books, just my deduction from patterns.
it might be a mixture of bonus and a little dividend increase in other to minimize cash outflow
