something strongly tells me that if the driver were to be a comedian cracking nasty profane jokes in the cab, nobody will caution him on his excesses. smh @ op, I'll opine that youshould have just quietly talked to him and let him be if he continues. |

@ okija, the poster said her dad had not allowed her access to her mum in the past "...and all the while i've been, he never allowed me visit my mum or her family members". Also, she didn't initiate the test, it was as required by the embassy. |
Hello Kushbab, I would advise thus: Don not blame the man, even though he's not handling it very well. You may have to relocate from his house for the time being(go to his relatives if you schol from home or go to school), but not without finding out from him how to locate your mother, since he had restrained you from seeing her all these while. Concentrate on your studies for now and graduate. Go sort it out with your mother, even though she may be in a worse dilemma when she's apprised of the situation. Note that this should not make you think you've lost all in life, you just have to change or loose your dad for there are lots of orphan out there. Hold strongy onto God. It is well with you. |
sure both are not ok. But in reality, many ladies are faced with either or both. They stick to the union most times in the name of "love". |
I was watching a home movie and one lady suffering constant assault from his boyfriend was being advised to quit the relationship by her friend. She fired back by saying she prefers putting up with him than the other ladies guy who's a cheat. It made me start wondering which is better, a cheating husband or an abusive husband. I sample two colleagues' opinions already and both ladies have different choices. So ladies, which do you prefer. Your husband beating you up when you "mess up" but faithful to you. Or your husband never lifts a finger on you but a ladies' geologist? |
From all your comments so far, you are not well apprised of such happenings. The woman's story here is just a summary of what happened to her, seeing that the parentage of the child has been proven beyond reasonable doubt, else you may not be able to convince her of the truth, assuming she was not carried along by the clinic. Such places exist in PH, I refrain from naming where it's located precisely. I have also seen a victim/beneficiary. Some woman are aware of the scam, some are not. Some plan with their husband to deceive the public, while some include their husband in the list of people to be deceived. A woman died while undergoing this some two yrs ago, she came down from some abroad. The way and manner we treat women who have not been blessed with the fruit of the womb is so so not ok, hence people devise all sorts to play on the gullible and sometimes ignorant ones. Mind you, this costs a lot of money, depending on the sex and number of children desired. This is how it works: When you come, after what seems to be the doctor's chat with you about your 'medical history', she would have gotten all the info she wants and assures you of the end thereof. You start receiving 'medications'. After some few months, you are told you have taken in (you must be advised to be sleeping with your husband regulary). The medication administered to you now makes you react like like a pregnant woman (it's hormonal). People see th change. After about nine months, you are kept in the clinic. By this time, a baby has been arranged. The most common source is from girls who don't want to keep the babies from their unwanted pregnancies. They'd be paid afterall. They are strongly advised against abortion. Some are hired to get pregnant and give birth for this. The long and short, the 'doctor/midwife' buys the baby. The delivery dates are made to coincide. They either tear the woman and tell her its CS or they make it look like normal one. Anyhow, she walks out with a baby. She goes to give testimonies in the church, dedication, naming ceremonies etc That the society we live. Lots are deceived. Some victims are ignorant, belive it. Always pray to God not to bring a temptation you cannot handle your way. Our society should also learn to accept adopted children. As th judge posited, the case is not a regular one. God help us. |

As an Agricultural engineer, you have endless opportunities. But you have to keep updating yourself to remain relevant. I belong to ASABE since I was in 4th year, became a full member as a corper. Have been planning to write the FE exam (the nearest is Egypt), started my M.Sc in UNIZIK this year (My B.Sc was UNN). Started my ACCA this June (have written F1 and F2). You just keep being relevant as you keep updating yoursel, wherever you find yourself. Just bought ESUT Business school application form, lectures one weekend every two months. Don't ever resort self-pity, you are better placed than those others. A very wide horrizon exists in the Agriculture world now, easy to be established, only be focussed. The world is there for you to conquer. |

mhsanni: where i live, its d norm. its actually weird seeing women in market here..infact even d traders are men. Please whats your location? I love that place. Am a banker. As much as possible I hate eating fast foods. I eat heavily when I eat. All through my university days, I cook my food (for quantity and quality). I Have the liberty to cook and eat whatever I feel like anytime. Its risky letting girls cook your food when you're not married. Its risky! Going to the market is fun to me too sometimes. |
okeyxyz: There's nothing wrong with the boy, He's just doing what a normal child who's been exposed to too much WWE/WWF wrestling would do, given the opportunity period. What do you think these kids do after watching such "entertainment" violence?? of course they are gonna look for someone who they can beat to practice these "skills" on..This guy spoke part of my mind, the bolded. But the kid may not be normal. This may be the effect of watching "wrestling". Watch the tactics he was trying out, including the last but one that he did with both feet same time. We need to watch what our children view, it's important. They learn violent/immoral acts and vulgar languages, even when they don't have physical influences. We need to pray for our kids always, we can't be with the 24/7, sometimes they are abused by the very "care-giver", housemaid etc. God help us all. |

My mama used to forbid sweeping at night, says by dat you'll be sweeping away wealth. Funny,I believed this for a very long time. |
When we were kids, we believed in my village that if you have stomach bite, take some saliva and touch your navel, and you'll be free. I think it has worked for me those days. Many of them superstitions. |
Bro, This should be a reversible action. The same way you took the oath, do the same way and pronounce the opposite “As long as I alive, I will NOT marry you. If I marry YOU, I shall die. The only thing that would KEEP us is LIFE.” Simple! You made it, unmake it. It's only difficult when one person wants to break it. Don't be afraid. Unless if you are bound by any other reason but oath. Regards |
Hello, I studied Agric Engr (Soil & Water Engr option). Though I have been in d bank since three months after NYSC, am gearing up for an M.Sc in Soil & Water still (anticipating an admission this year). @ Topic: The Nigerian factor has actually made the career seem "non-lucrative". I am a member of ASABE and I know what's happening over there. But my take on it is, even in Nigeria, one will make it heavy when one gets into private practice. There are unlimited opportunities. Soil & water, Farm Power & Mach, Bio Resources, Alternative energy, Food processing and on and on. i'll advise you stick and make shape your life. Don't be discouraged and carried away. 2. Lacoolmley: Agric Engineering is good but if you have an opportunity to change to Mechanical, I'll say you should go for it. With a Mechanical degree, you are given a chance to work in more engineering fields than one with Agric. Eng. Just look at it this way; a Mech Engr could be employed to do your job but it's quite hard to employ you to do his job. The bolded is not entirely true. the reverse could as well be the case. |
mycvclinic:Please can anyone who's a banker and stays in Lagos help me source for ACCA 2012 study materials, I would want to sit for F1 and F2 this June. I need your response please. |
