RomanceRe: Can One Make Out In Nigeria Without Being Verbally Abused by SAGoddess: 12:12pm On May 04, 2010
Africans making out in public are frowned upon across the continent I think, apparently it's for other people, just not Africans grin grin grin
RomanceRe: Sisters approaching guys for romance!!! by SAGoddess(op): 12:04pm On May 04, 2010
Odunnu:
U mean a gurl walking up 2a guy and askin 4a date?
I think there are more subtle ways to do it like smiling at the guy when bumping into him at the cafeteria or greeting him when you walk past him and eventually he takes notice and suggests the two of you go out for a drink or something, It is said anyway that usually when a guy approaches a girl, she has already "rated" him as to whether he "qualifies" or not so when guy walks up and says "hello", the girl already knows what she is going to say to him, guys don't know this about us though  wink

Some ladies may take the blatant route like what you mentioned above, approach will differ!
RomanceRe: Who Should Be In Control by SAGoddess: 11:37am On May 04, 2010
BOTH parties should indeed take responsibility for the relationship, as for who controls it, I am still trying to figure that one out, breaking down the word CONTROL first! wink
RomanceRe: Sisters approaching guys for romance!!! by SAGoddess(op): 11:19am On May 04, 2010
personally i don't mind a Lady making the first move. if I'm also interested in her, i would not let her go that far, but if she eventually makes the first move, i'll try to make her understand i had intended to ask her out b4 she did so. Allowing her make the first move would have negative implications considering the fact that guys are usually more egocentric than women "guys easily let things like this get to their heads".
True Yusuf, some guys would let their EGO get in the way, sadly!
thats a lie missy b,

50% wud agree n use that woman to death, 20% wud calmly reject them, 20% wud appreciate their courage n stick wit them (for some reason, this is where i fall into), 10% wud remind them that they were the ones who asked them out,

there, alot better
I just think it would be nicer if the world had a lot more liberal men around!
RomanceRe: Sisters approaching guys for romance!!! by SAGoddess(op): 10:52am On May 04, 2010
Makes sense Missy B, I think generally men prefer to do the hunting themselves and wouldn't want any prey bringing itself over, easy catch with all the connotations associated to it! HOWEVER, there is that 3% you talk about who would kill to have a girl approach them, not necessarily throwing herself at the man with titz hanging out and a skirt that barely covers the backside, this small percentage of men would not even judge the lady for making the first move, they would just let things flow as though they had approached the girl themselves, again, I could be wrong in my observation! wink

Then you get sleek girls who would make a move on a guy but still let him believe he initiated the whole thing and guy feels totally in control from the word go cheesy

Does "GENETICS" mean anything to you and your friend?
RomanceSisters approaching guys for romance!!! by SAGoddess(op): 10:21am On May 04, 2010
How do guys on the forum feel about a lady approaching them, to get to know them better possibly to get into a relationship later?  Where I come from, some men hate it and might think of the woman as loose while others think it's about time ladies took matters into their own hands.  NL is a different world altogether so I am curious to know how you lot feel about this,

I know some of you are going to hail insults at me  grin bring it on  wink  Kidding, let's keep it civil please! cheesy

RomanceRe: What Should I Do by SAGoddess: 7:23am On May 04, 2010
cheesy not even a pregnancy can keep a man where he does not want to be, I'm afraid falling pregnant won't work, in fact it will bring more problems, I could be wrong!

Clearly it is easier to blame the other woman Missy B, for breaking up a HAPPY home! wink
FamilyRe: This Lady Wouldn't Just Leave My Husband Alone by SAGoddess: 10:00am On May 03, 2010
Why is the husband "quiet" if he had nothing to do with thishuhhuh?  He evidently went after the love-peddler,
FamilyRe: This Lady Wouldn't Just Leave My Husband Alone by SAGoddess: 8:23am On May 03, 2010
ThoniaSlim:
The mistake most ladies make is blaming the Woman involved! No its the Man who wouldn't RESPECT himself and leave her ALONE! If he didn't encourage it, she won't have the guts. So the problem lies with the husband not the WOMAN. So deal with your MAN first!
Seconded girl, I feel very strongly about this too, the wives always blame the other woman forgetting that their men had a hand in what is happening as well, SMH! IT takes two, not ONE!
RomanceRe: Will He Love Me Again by SAGoddess: 8:12am On May 03, 2010
I have never understood why one has to lie about self, I be myself from the beginning and if guy does not like it, that is cool but rather be yourself and be accepted/rejected than be a fraud, and have to "rectify" that later, too much drama if you ask me!

Well, that's how it is. Marraige is one sacred institution here.
Though i want to believe there is something the poster is not telling us.
If he truly believes the wife doesn't love him, he wouldn't be trying to patch things up or be her friend.
I'm yet to see a man whose ego is dealt such a severe blow and is still sucking it in.
It sounds to me that it is more sacred when it comes to women, given your first response to my Q about divorce! All the best to the poster, maybe the man has told all his story and he is just INLOVE, possible!

Stories like this are what make me always have a rethink about marriage,
Seconded, my worst fear about marriage is waking up one day to hear the man never loved me or he does not love me anymore, scary indeed!
RomanceRe: How Do I Become My Wife’s Best Friend? by SAGoddess: 3:36pm On Apr 30, 2010
tkjoke:
Yes divorce is frowned upon except if there are incriminating evidences of infidelity espectially on the part of the woman. Which is what doesn't make the story add up- the man sticking to a loveless marriage because of family(societal) pressure.
It's usually women that suck up to such poo.
Unbelievable, I wouldn't suck up for such, I can't even wrap my head around it!
RomanceRe: How Do I Become My Wife’s Best Friend? by SAGoddess: 3:11pm On Apr 30, 2010
Kindly clarify this for me Naija peeps, is divorce frowned upon in Naija, is it the worst thing that could happen? I ask because the poster mentioned a lot of reasons why he needs to make it work with the wife who has never been inlove with him. I am from SA, some may say we live like Westerners, maybe true but if the relationship/marriage is not working out anymore, most people go their seperate ways, try to be civil with one another if there are children involved, I would rather have this scenario than be in a loveless marriage for the children or financial/emotional investment I have made, staying will hurt the children more as they see their parents fighting or not talk to one another, just my take, don't shoot me down for it!
