The Mbaise people are the root of Catholicism in Nigeria. I have studied the news from both sides and I think the Pope didnt do a nice job by not listening to the Mbaise people.

The moment you keep imposing Priests from other tribes who are not Catholics but by virtue of Nigeria's tribal nepotism allow one tribe to lord over the very known Catholic tribes, then you cause trouble.

In terms of authority God the Father is greater than the son and the son is greater than the Holy spirit....but by nature they r all God......no less God no greater God. If u apply my human analogy u shouldn't have a problem wrapping ur head around this.

Thts the reason Jesus says to have seen me is to have seen the Father and I and my Father are one and yet still says the Father is greater than I.

The problem is not in the merging of subjects into civil and national values. schools can determine which religion to teach in place of the other.

The problem lies with the seventh subject. Either Arabic or French. Now the question is why Arabic? Why not any other foreign language.

There are more important languages than Arabic which as far as I'm concerned is not different from Islam.

Students will be left with no option than to sturdy Arabic in place of French because of the limited number of French teachers across the country as compared to Arabic that every Muslim can teach.

The solution is, if you must bring in Arabic, then increase the number of optional languages to balance the odd. It won't be wrong bringing in Hebrew, Greek or Latin to correspond the slide.

Mbaise is one of the most populous catholic domains in Nigeria. They deserve to have their own Bishop especially considering the their contribution to the church and its evolution. With over 600 priests, surely there has to be one qualified or favored for that position.

This grandstanding by Arinze and his cohorts is to the detriment of the church in Ahiara. Howrver the church in its characteristic "wisdom" will adopt a no victor no vanquished approach. Comoromises will be reached and the matter will die with no loss of face to Ahiara or Okpaleke or his mentor Arinze.

Rubbish, setting a very bad precedence, very soon evry diocese will start doing same, the archdiocese of Benin has an Igbo archbishop..... Archbishop Augustine Akubueze, even as the binis have a good number of qualified priests to hold that position, he was ordained and nobody cried or protested.
