Mpele if say he were black is a self hating slowpoke, if say he were white a sorry racist that has nothing better to do but torture himself with the fact that blacks are moving forward. Whatever it is he is sick and twisted in a sad way.

Yup for a fact he plagerized. From when he was in theology school and did his thesis to when he made the speech. We extensively talked about this in my African American Histroy class. The issue no is that does the fact that he plagerized detract anything from his 'greatness'

why doesn't Nigerians jsut create something as good as grammy or better rather than popping a blood vessel cause we might win something from another country and other people that don't really listen to our music and don't show award acceptance from people of other countries. Why don't we be more like the Chinese that emulate people in a better way rather than trying to be incorperated by other people. First you do their thing better in your own country and that is when they will be willing to accept you.

I think the thing why most things are not believed in Nigeria is becasue most people don't confirm anything with pictures. You know pictures say a thousand words.

I totally disagree with Seuns comment. Floods have nothing to do with people throwing trash out of their cars. Nastiness is nastiness any way you look at it. The government should put out trash cans so people walking can put it in there and the those in their cars can leave the trash in their cars till they get to their destination.

First off let me apologize for what am about to write. I understand everyone has a right to free speech however I think the above statement is all kinds of stupid and has hints of cultural hatred.
While I realize we have been taken over by the Western view of beauty it still does not mean cultural fashion sense automatically makes people fat and lazy. Its idiotic to think that someone is less lady like by embracing their culture. Like saying it is unprofessional for a teacher to wear her native attire, how dumb! The reason I think the comment is plain stupid is would you still consider the women unattractive and fat if Western influence were minimal or non- exostent. No!

im not an expert at girls fashion and u wernt even directing the comment at me,but during the old days as in way back women went bare chested and nobody made a big deal out of it,neither was there any promiscuity n stuffs like now,so shown cleavages n that isnt as western as we ll like to see it

Well I understand that unclothedness or revealing outfits is not as Western as it is widely precieved however the way Britgirlee put the question and the fact that in her profile she was wearing Western designed outfit is the reason I made my statement. Like I said earlier I have no problems with people wearing whatever except some kind of colored contact on black people and crazy types of weave

I was going to say that marrying an Igbo doesn't mean you have to change who you are because if he's marrying you then he loves you for you. A Yoruba girl and not an Igbo girl. However, I see you are trying to start an ethnic debate with you "heard Igbos have not culture". Some one made a point earlier and it makes alot of sense. The person said that Nigeria is run by Mu slims who never participates in any of the olympic games or sports for that matter but are in charge of the Ministry of Sports. So what am gettting at is that until the people in charge sees the need to fund the teams (dream or not) then nothing will happen. Everyone wants miracles like the miracle expected from the 17-yr old Somalian girl, but it proved that miracles are few and far in between. Sometimes in life we just have to work for what we want like Phelps (if he didn't dope) did.

IF you have halitoses (sp) go see a dentist, if not then eat lots of vegetable especially parsely. Either way it might be better to go the dentist anyways and see what happens

PS , just getting into the Nigerian movies over here and yup the girlees wear contact lenses in most films,

I don't wear contacts, open chest blouse (often or I layer), weaves or perm my hair. I don't care much when people do but the Nollywood actresses do it in the worst and most obvious way. They make false hair a sin. Its like the people that are the cosmo department of Nollywood and dunces and clown artistes.

Anyways I wasn't trying to be funny it just seemed like the changing faces of Africa bothered you in that people are moving away from their culture in the most ridiculous ways. I think I was probably viewing the thread the way I view questions I ask people in that if I don't do something then I ask other people questions to understand why they do it. Especially when I think what they are doing is ridiculous.

I do think Africans over do the weave, even kids less than a year old have their hair braided up with weave or wear wigs.

Thats why it turns out that beauty is skin deep. No wonder thier husbands dump them.
