Can't imagine the suffering there now. The only little bright spot maybe that the population of 22million is not that big. Imagine the economy of neighbouring India with a population of a billion plus, collapsing! |
Inasmuch as the police have done a marvelous job arresting the corrupt police officers,I find the lady's story to be emblemished to possibly justify why she patted with ₦320k. That Nigerian policemen,as corrupt as they are, would intimidate and extort a Nigerian LADY with a mere accusation of possession of weed,I find extremely difficult to believe and don't believe. Nigerian policemen are quite circumspect of even extorting ladies with proven, serious criminal acts, talkless of mere accusation of weed. Even a man found in possession of weed, not even mere accusation or planted, would hardly part with that huge sum There is more to this story the lady is not saying,I can bet anything. |
Bonesbreaker:Not just getting PVC. They should also come out to vote massively on election day and resist the overwhelming temptation to get bought over. |
Rather senators that lost their primaries and still looking for political relevance. |
pat077:Think the last I heard was 2022 before the cattle herder leaves office. |
subsidywise18:Thank you. I have been saying it,anyone expecting that when Dangote refinery comes on board, fuel would be sold at ₦165 is living in a grand illusion. Even the ready availability is not guaranteed because issues of supply and distribution would come in. Fuel would likely sell at ₦250 at the least when DR comes on board. If Nigerians refuse to buy at that price, the man can easily tell us he is exporting to neighbouring African countries where there is a ready market for his product which at ₦250 or ₦300 would be relatively cheaper than if they import from outside Africa. Of course the FG will tell NNPC and marketers they can no longer be subsidising imports when the product is at their backyard. When you are faced with sourcing scarce dollars and importing fuel then at say ₦350-₦400,rather than buy at maybe ₦280-₦300 from Dangote, you wouldn't need to be an intelligent businessman to know which to chose. |
I have posted about this, specifically here on nairaland, that anytime I come across any of his comments and reading through them,Seun has never sounded to me as one with the kind of intellect expected of someone that founded nairaland. His posts are very mundane and devoid of insightful thoughts and analysis. |
Azsalami:Good man. Back to the topic:It looks like it will definitely be the most competitive since 1999. Elections in 2023 will be freer, fairer with people not only coming out to vote, but ensuring their votes count and inec too has improved a lot. So cast votes will definitely matter and determine who wins, unlike some in the past where governments and top politicians manipulated the process in various ways. Added to this is the fact that if Obi translates his perceived support online and in youths into actual votes that day,it will become a dogged 3 way tie. Despite their enormous financial resources,I see many people in 2023 still voting their choice, despite whatever financial incentives are thrown their way and ensuring that their votes are made to count. Again,Obi being an Igboman has reinvigorated the old tripod of the 3 major tribes,Hausa,Yoruba and Igbo competing for the presidency,as it used to be in the good old days of political gladiators of Ideas and principles featuring the likes of Nnamdi Azikiwe,Tafawa Balewa and Obafemi Awolowo. |
Azsalami:First correct your grammar. The heading should be:'Will the 2023 election....'. Something that hasn't happened yet can't have a sentence starting with 'is'. |
temitope27:Oga,why u dey para. I wasn't the one that said he is from ekpoma,I was just responding to the person that suggested it. |

Kaiair:There are many in ekpoma and ogume with similar intellect, they just ain't got the nurturing and environment. Brilliance most times thrives when nurtured in the right environment at the right time. |
His parents are immigrants,so definitely he is of Nigerian parentage. We are probably the most gifted set of black Africans on the planet earth, but just can't seem to exploit our human and resource potentials on our own. |
An Alabama teen has been accepted to more than 15 universities, including Harvard and Johns Hopkins, and has been awarded more than $2 million in scholarship offers. Rotimi Kukoyi, a high school senior and the first Black National Merit Scholar at his school, is from Hoover, Alabama. He told ABC News he was inspired to apply to a number of places after appearing on the "Jeopardy!" Teen Tournament as a freshman in 2018, and meeting high achieving students from across the country. https://www.goodmorningamerica.com/living/story/alabama-teen-accepted-15-schools-million-scholarships-85360188?cid=social_twitter_abcn |
EnglandAmaka:Pure, unadulterated bunkum from the beginning to end. Yet,some nincompoop liked this pure rubbish you posted. |
Creamypie:Q.E.D |
plaindealer:Spoken like a man just coming out of prison after being there since 1990's. The senators of PDP and APC will simply decamp to LP |
leksite120:Shut up! There was every likelihood he was going to,until he realised it would be a massive political mistake seeing the opposition to it and the fact that it would alienate his candidacy when he goes to the polls against his 2 major rivals,Atiku and Peter Obi,who would have a balanced ticket in terms of zones and religion. Even devils like El-Rufai were actively encouraging and pushing for it. Atiku's running mate would be a Southern Christian and Obi's would be a Northern Muslim. It would thus have been awkward and put Tinubu at a great disadvantage if he had chosen a Northern, fellow Muslim. |
Wao. This Peter Obi may eventually be a shocker. So long these people all come out to vote because it's one thing to do a rally and make all the noise it's quite another for same number of people to come out to vote with their PVC's. |
Can't even look at their pictures, just covered my eyes and scrolled down to read comments because I see all of them to be gays even if they also f uck ladies and there is no man I hate and that's as repulsive as a gay. Tufiakwa!Tufiakwa again!! |
Pastorjohn2:Must you bring a,hypothetical, unborn child into it? Simply say you are voting Peter Obi,period! |
13million votes will win the election. Luckily, federal elections are becoming relatively more free and fairer. So the mathematics is simple for Obi and his supporters. The question then is:can they mobilize 13million voters on that election day to deliver him the presidency? |
The grade level salary of N85k in 2000 will today be about N850k. So with discipline over a 10 year period, the same person on your dad's grade equivalent today will save about N40m-N50m. So value wise,it's similar. Just that your dad may have made a lot of sacrifices,if that was his only source of income. |
Let's look at it critically:of those that stepped down for Buhari how many had their state delegates locked down? Only ekiti with fayemi as governor, maybe 50 delegates. Also jigawa state governor, another 50-60. Amosun,Bankole didn't have Ogun state delegates because the governor was rooting for PYO. Stepping down or not, Tinubu would have won so long a primary election was conducted. The only way Tinubu was going to lose was if a consensus candidate other than him was adopted. This was what probably Abdullahi Adamu saw that made him to try that scam of claiming Lawan had been adopted as a consensus candidate. Lawan that Atiku would have defeated by 12noon,way before voting was concluded. |
alsudan:They are moving because they lost. All of them, except perhaps for Tinubu and Buhari(despite his numerous, grand flaws) and wike (till proven otherwise) are all poor party men, only moving from one to another for their own selfish aims.If PDP loses, this same person would decamp back to the APC. Even if he wins the senatorial seat under PDP which he decamped to to fly the ticket that he lost to the incumbent governor, and APC wins at the centre, this same fair weather politician would swiftly decamp to the APC,despite being a senator under another party. |
vasel15:Is it not same you that created this thread just a few days ago, proclaiming that Buhari has betrayed Tinubu by endorsing a Northern APC candidate? https://www.nairaland.com/7161384/buhari-truly-betrayed-tinubu-heart Now you have changed your tune and shifted the goal post. Imbe. |
IgOga:Only if something happens to Tinubu before he sends his nomination along with that of his chosen VP to INEC. Once that happens, even before the national election, the VP automatically becomes the party bearer and a new VP party candidate gets nominated by the party. So assuming such unwished for scenario takes place, the VP nominee slot is the highest Amaechi can get and the VP of APC then wins the presidency. |
CornOak:Rivers people are representing well. Wike was narrowly defeated by Atiku, coming second and here in APC Amaechi too, despite vying together with a sitting VP and a sitting senate President, has come an impressive second with a very respectable delegates count. Amaechi is indeed a formidable politician and maybe made SSG or given another ministerial post,if Tinubu wins the presidency. |
seunmsg:Rather he had no choice. Don't forget,he is now effectively a lameduck president. He would have been told that openly going against Tinubu may see to Tinubu decamping and knowing the considerable support Tinubu has,his followers would likely follow suit. That that could destabilise the entire APC asides costing the party in 2023. So the convincing point the advisers would have given Buhari is that rather than endorse someone Tinubu would eventually vie against or pitch his massive tent with Atiku, against such narrowly supported APC candidate,Buhari should insist on the primaries going ahead and whoever wins would be adjudged to have come from a democratic, popular party support. So Buhari's hand was forced to be neutral, rather than it being his preferred way to have chosen a successor. |
mujibson:Osinbajo believed the hype on the social media about himself. Way b4 he lost I had said Osinbajo is an overrated person and would be a massive disappointment if elected president. The one fear about Tinubu is his health status, not his corrupt tendencies because they are all corrupt, just relatively less or more. A governor of Lagos state that twice consecutively appointed Ibo men into cabinet positions before a few others did same, much later, asides his revolutionary ideas, maybe lacking in some implementation with some of them,is deserving of some serious consideration. But the journey is half way completed, and that is that a Southern goat should rather become president, than anything the north offers, after the 8 disastrous, incompetent, sectionalism filled years of Buhari. |
Nyamuriflathead: CutieKing:You people gave relevance to a nincompoop by replying him. When he posted that Atiku would defeat Tinubu massively in the 3 northern zones is when you should have known that one is either responding to a kid or a deluded armchair analyst. So every thing else he would type one should know would be the same deluded, childish rant, not deserving of a response. |
