debosky: Insulting the cretinous nature of an individual's posts does not classify as insulting that individual for 'no reason whatsoever'. Note the difference.
A troll is a persistent trouble-maker who keeps disrupting the forum in one way or the other: e.g. consistently posting irritating offtopic comments on other peoples' threads, insulting people for no reason whatsoever, posting satellite pictures or other images that have nothing to do with anything, etc. People who make the forum unpleasant for everyone else.
In the sports section, Sagamite insults Nairalanders for supporting & celebrating Nigerian "underage" football teams.

He baits other users so he can insult them and derails threads for pages.

He's intelligent and I like having him around but going by Seun's definition, SAGAMITE IS A TROLL.

TV/Movies › Re: What Was The Last Movie You Watched - Part 2 by semid4lyfe(m):
Just the Indian movies I've seen since the last time I posted about movies here. . . . .

Badmaash Company (2010)- Nice movie with a good friendship story but no one runs business in real life as portayed in the film 5.5/10

Rang De Basanti (2006)- about some Indian youth revolutionaries who go up against the corruption ridden government and try to bring change to their country. Not as good as my favourite Aamir Khan movies - Fanaa, Gaijini and 3 Idiots. 6/10

Jodhaa Akbar (2008)- Commendable performances from Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai. Thought it'd be a historical war story like Troy with lots of armoured soldiers riding on horses, sword fighting, epic battles et al, but it turned out to be a sappy albeit interesting romantic drama between royalties. Lest I forget, the blings in this movie fit blind person. . .as in, see jewelries shocked shocked Overall, I rate it 7.5/10

Game (2011)- a ''police-detective'' investigative crime drama with lots of suspense, twists & turns. Movie stars Abhischek Bachchan, Anupam Kher amongst others. Got nothing but applause for this movie. 7/10

Band Baaja Baaraat (2010) - Good, entertaining movie with decent acting. 5.5/10

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) - stars my favourite Bollywood couple SRK and Kajol. Also had Salman Khan, Rani Mukherjee and Anupam Kher in supporting roles. Good movie about lost but enduring love. A bit too melodramatic and at a point e come be like sey I dey watch one of those mexican soaps. . .as in, too many unrealistic coincindences. 7.5/10

Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006) - featuring SRK, Abhishek Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan, Preity Zinta and Rani Mukherjee. Interesting but I couldn't help looking at the run-timer while watching the movie 6.5/10

Guzaarish (2010) - Awesome! Brilliant! Superb! Movie almost had me believing in love. Words fails me so I'll just limit my remaining comments to the score card 9/10

aieromon: I had to wipe off the Windows 7 Premium 64-bit OS and install Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit OS. I don't have time hitting my head on the wall cos of the 64-bit OS.
Lol. . .thought as much.

Went to CV to buy a laptop with a friend early last month and most of the high-spec laptops were 64bit. At the end, he bought a Hp laptop with a 64bit Windows Home Premium OS which I removed to install a 32 bit Windows 7 Ultimate OS when we got back to base

aieromon: I always get irritated when people bring their 64-bit Pavilion laptops to me for pimping. I fully agree with you.
No be only you.

aieromon: The laptop is the HP Pavilion dm4 1265dx
Can I upgrade the RAM to 8GB now that I've wiped off the preinstalled OS?
YES. . .I think so.
Sports › Brazil Vs Mexico: Olympic Football Final (1 - 2) On Saturday August 11 2012 by semid4lyfe(mod):
https://www.fifa.com/mm//Photo/Tournament/Competition/01/49/46/08/1494608_FULL-LND.jpg

The Men’s Olympic Football Tournament will see new champions crowned at London 2012. Fittingly the scene of their coronation will be the magnificent Wembley Stadium, where Brazil and Mexico will fight it out in a bid to make history.

The Mexicans already have the satisfaction of improving on their previous best performance at the Games, fourth place in 1968, while A Seleção are within touching distance once more of the one major title that has always eluded them.

The stakes
Brazil are bracing themselves for their third Olympic final, the previous two having ended in defeat in 1984 and 1988. Gold would give Mano Menezes and his young squad a major fillip as they continue their preparations for the ultimate challenge at the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™. The Brazilians have barely put a foot wrong at London 2012, winning every single one of their five matches and scoring three goals on each occasion.

El Tri’s progress to the final has been far less smooth. Taken to extra-time by Senegal in the quarter-finals, they then had to come from behind to beat Japan in the semis. Those hard-fought triumphs have boosted their morale, however, and their only worry ahead of the final is the muscle strain that has put Giovani dos Santos’ participation in doubt.

The most recent meeting between the two sides, one that featured six members of the current Brazil squad and four of the Mexico line-up, came in the semi-finals of the FIFA U-20 World Cup Colombia 2011, which the South Americans won 2-0.

The stats
2 - Mexico and Brazil have faced each other twice in the finals of FIFA tournaments, with Los Aztecas emerging triumphant on both occasions, winning 4-3 to lift the FIFA Confederations Cup on home soil in 1999 and then 3-0 in claiming the FIFA U-17 World Cup Peru 2005.

The words
“We hope to win gold, and we’ve been working with that objective in mind for the last month now. We have to focus on our game though, because Mexico are a very tough side and we’ll need to show them a lot of respect,” Brazil defender Marcelo.

“We’re very happy at having made sure of a silver medal already, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to settle for what we’ve got. It goes without saying that we’ll be aiming for the gold medal against Brazil. These young Mexican players have a different mindset. We won the U-17 World Cup, came third in the U-20 World Cup, and here we are in the final. We won the [CONCACAF] Gold Cup in convincing style too, showing that we were far and away the best team in that tournament. You can see from the U-17’s up that the mentality has changed. These kids want to play abroad, they don’t have any hang-ups and they want to get better,” Mexico coach Luis Fernando Tena.

Nairaland General › Re: Should Age Restriction/limit Be Placed On Nairaland? by semid4lyfe(m): 6:07pm On Aug 10, 2012
AK 48: I have noticed the insurgence of immature people(from their useless and childish post) lately have become unprecedented, which is not good for this forum.

I think underage children(say 16 and below) should be denied registering, but they can be guest.
I don't know if I will be very correct considering the the economical implication to his excellency, osewa. what do u think about this sugestion?
Asinine idea. . .maturity is not about age.

There are 40 year olds who behave worse than toddlers here and teenagers who post quality & sensible stuff.

NO BE BY AGE!
TV/Movies › Re: Ayo Emerges Winner Of MTN Project Fame West Africa Season 5 by semid4lyfe(m):
My post on the Project Fame Season Four Thread last year. I still feel the same way. . . .
All these singing competitions Project Fame WA, Nigerian Idols, West African Idols etc are a waste of time IMO.

It's better for a "talented" aspiring musician to hustle, gather money, hit the studio and record one or two dance/party tracks, get radio airplay and he or she will blow faster than all these singing competitions will do for him/her. Also, it doesn't help that the scope of the show is limited.

Apart from the prize money, the recording contract & the car, there's nothing in Project Fame. It is just a platform to fame, become a celebrity and get invites to events IMO.

How many winners of these competitions have gone on to have successful music careers? Na only Omawunmi be like sey she try. . .Timi, Mike, Chidinma, Nyanya were failures and their songs/albums were flops.

Dbanj, Tuface, P-Square, Asa, Olamide, Whizkid, M.I, Ice-Prince, Samklef, Timaya etc never went through any singing competition and they're the biggest things in the music industry today. . . .no surprise these same artists get invited to perform and judge the contestants during the show

Nairaland General › Re: Ghanians And Nigerians, Who Speak Better English? by semid4lyfe(m): 5:29pm On Aug 10, 2012
Blueboy0402: While watching the burial service of the late president John Attah Mills on AIT, I closely observed that Ghanians speak relatively good English. I wanted to keep my observation to myself and mourn with the people of Ghana as they bid farewell to this man of peace. But as I reflect, I felt like sharing my observation with fellow nairalanders and also ask, between Ghanians and Nigerians who speak better English? Please give your sincere opinion.
You expect the people at the burial (top Government functionaries, business moguls etc with relatively good education) of a Ghanaian President to speak bad English cos I don't get it? huh
