Michaeljones36: 1. I am planning on visiting Naija for two months this fall. I am definitely moving to Africa within a year. Nigeria is my first choice, but if it doesn't work out I am also looking into Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa.
2. I want to move to Africa (let's start here) because I REALLY want to live in a black majority area. I want to build a life in a black majority country and I want my future kids to grow up in a black majority country.
I want to move to Nigeria for a lot of reasons. Several close family friends are from Nigeria, you guys have the largest population in Africa, an enormous economy that is getting bigger every year, a healthy mix of cultures and religions, beautiful land, great weather, beautiful women, and strong national pride. In 20 years Nigeria is going to be the giant of Africa and the richest black nation in the world. I'm sure it will be an exciting time in history, and a great time to be in Naija. Also, I love that most of the population is under 30.
Anyway, I am a successful entrepreneur here in NYC. I have been starting small businesses since before I can remember, and have had employees since high school. I want to move to Nigeria to build businesses and to invest. Maybe open up a factory to cut down on imports. Thought your motivation was a babe (as in a Nigerian Fiancee) who insisted she wouldn't live in the US and would only commit to you if you were going to settle & live in Nigeria |

Wish I could be as optimistic as you are
Listened to an analyst on radio and he said D'Tigers have to win one more game and keep the margin of their losses very close and hope the other teams lose by wide margins so qualification to the next round is not exactly in our hands or isn't this true? |

EDITH Ogoke is the first Nigerian woman to box in the Olympics. She fights on Sunday. She is also the last Nigerian boxer registered for the Olympics who is still in London. The other two boxers(male) would watch her from their respective homes in Nigeria. They all lost and have bid bye to London Olympics.
Aware of the huge task on her shoulders, Edith said yesterday that she would not give anybody any chance to tell her stories.
‘’Right now, I am hot, red-hot. I am sad that the two boxers have lost. I am going to fight their battle with mine. I pity the girl from Azerbaijan,’’ Edith said moments after her training.
She is billed to fight Vy Stropova Elena of Azerbaija on Sunday in the Women’s 75kg (middleweight) by 4.55pm.
‘’I’m ready to prove that Nigeria is a force to be reckoned with in women boxing. I will not give my opponent any chance. It’s either I go for knockout or box in a way that nobody can play any tricks’’. http://www.completesportsnigeria.com/news/2012/08/ogoke-vows-to-spill-blood |

D'Tigers of Nigeria will take on Team USA it's 3rd game in the London 2012 Olympics on Thursday.
Nigeria pulled off a 60-56 win in it's first game against Tunisia on Sunday and followed up with a predictably less favorable result against Eastern European powerhouse Lithuania, losing 72-53 on Tuesday. Head coach Ayo Bakare's boys managed to hit a mere 24.2 percent of their shots against the Lithuanians, including just 1-of-16 from the three.
Team USA on the other hand will be taking on its second Olympic newcomer when it meets Nigeria in London on Thursday. The Americans appeared to be a bit overconfident out of the gate in their most recent matchup against Tunisia, though they eventually rolled to a 110-63 thrashing behind a superb effort from their reserves.
The Nigerians are no slouches, however, at least for first-time Olympians. They feature three players—Al-Farouq Aminu, Ike Diogu and Olumide Oyedeji—who are, or have been, employed by NBA teams, along with a host of others who played college basketball in the States.
That collection of talent helped Nigeria squeak into the London field by way of a qualifying tournament in Venezuela in July, in which they defeated Lithuania and Greece.
Of course, USA Basketball stands head, shoulders, knees and toes (knees and toes) above those two, which should merit a sizable advantage for the Yanks.
Then again, that's why the NBA exists and the games are played, right?
NIGERIA'S ROSTER Guards: Tony Skinn, Derrick Obasohan, Richard Oruche, Ade Dagunduro, Chamberlain Oguchi Forwards: Ike Diogu, Al-Farouq Aminu, Kiki Archibong, Ekene Ibekwe, Ejike Ugboaja Centers: Olumide Oyedeji, Alade Aminu
USA'S ROSTER Guards: Chris Paul, Kobe Bryant, Deron Williams, Russell Westbrook, James Harden Forwards: LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Love, Andre Iguodala Centers: Tyson Chandler, Anthony Davis
GAME ANALYSIS: America's starters looked like they were mired in memories of 2004 when they took the floor against Tunisia. They settled for long jump shots on offense, looked lethargic on defense, and displayed a general disinterest in their overmatched opponent.
Mike Krzyzewski's mass substitutions helped to turn the beat around for his team, but was indicative of a lackadaisical overconfidence that could come back to bite the gold-medal favorites before too long.
Nigeria presents a similar mental challenge to Team USA's sense of focus, but with decidedly better talent than Tunisia. A slow start would hardly doom the Americans against the Nigerians, but they can't afford to develop bad habits with tougher competition on the horizon.
The longer it takes the Americans to get their engines revved up against their inferior competitors, the closer David can come to felling Goliath. GAME |

"He's a brilliant player. I think he's improved a lot over the last few years. He's at a level now where he's playing some great football," Lampard told KickOffNigeria.com exclusively. YES. . .he played some great footie towards the latter stages of last season but I'll never use the word brilliant to qualify Mikel as a player. BRILLIANT was Makalele (at Chelsea)"Maybe the reason people say that is because he's playing a position that is really underrated Question is, is Mikel the only player playing this "underrated" position in football?
"He's not a player that's going to score you goals in a season but his value to the team is measured by how his team mates talk about him and we all have nothing but high praise for him." If other players playing exactly his role score goals, why shouldn't he?
"He does a lot of work for us in the holding role, keeps the ball moving for us. VERY TRUE. . .and I couldn't agree more. In fact, it's what he does best.
He's great at tackling, intercepting balls and winning balls." FA FA FOUL. . .big lie . Mikel no sabi tackle, intercept & win balls and break down opposing attacks. He's always running after opposing players when they've passed him. He's only good at collecting the ball from the back four, holding on to it & keeping possession and making short passes.
All in all, Lampard is just being a good team mate. |

Parts for toploaders are readily more available & cheaper and toploading washing machines are easier to repair in Naija according to technicians.
An elderly relative saw the advert of a fancy LG 5-in-1 (washing, spinning, drying, pressing etc) fontloading digital washing machine on the internet, bought it for use and it's been from one problem to another.
She got in touch with me to help her get a technician to come look at it and when the technician saw the machine, the first thing he said was "Madam, you for no buy this machine nah" . According to him, it wasn't rugged, it's part were unavailable/very scarce and expensive and very few technicians could repair them. Even my drycleaner confirmed it and said the manually operated toploaders were better than the frontloading digital ones
The technician also mentioned that unlike the manual toploading washing machines which could use regular detergents like OMO & Zip, the recommended detergent for the LG machine was persil powder as it's rubber was very sensitive and would cut if any other soap was used. . . .and una know how damn expensive persil is in Naija.
Na the bigger type of that kain machine with washer/spinner on different sides my drycleaner dey use and I haven't had cause to complain about the handling of my clothes
If you're in Naija, please get a toploader |

Christianity Etc › TB Joshua On Leadership Newspaper Interview: I Never Spoke With Anyone by semid4lyfe(op): 7:29am On Jul 29, 2012 |
“Don’t play with the Holy Spirit,”- Prophet T.B. Joshua warns Leadership NewspaperThe General overseer of the Synagogue church of God, Prophet T.B Joshua had yesterday reacted to the interview that was purportedly circulated on the internet, but championed by leadership newspaper which claimed that the Man of God regretted the death of Atta Mill, the former President of Ghana who died this week. The interviewed released by Leadership newspaper quoted T.B Joshua as saying that despite his spiritual effort to save the life of the late Ghanian president, God’s wish for him was superior to all.
However, the controversial prophet had denied granting Leadership newspaper any interview on the death of the late Ghanian president whom many believe was a very good friend of Prophet T.B Joshua.
In a statement issued by the prophet himself tagged “ Leadership Stop this” he had warned leadership newspaper against publishing unrealistic story about him and his ministry, stating that God was watching who ever formulates stories against the man of God. T.B Joshua had also in the statement denied speaking on the death of the late president at any given time since he died.
According to T.B Joshua, “The interview in LEADERSHIP NEWSPAPER of Thursday 26/7/2012 titled “I Did Not Foresee Atta Mills’ Death – T.B. Joshua” does not represent me, T.B. Joshua, because I was not around and I never spoke with anyone.
Speaking on the continuous rumour about his prophesy , the man of God says “People say all sorts of things against me but God says “Touch not my anointed and do him no harm”. Why should anybody write this as if you will not die one day?”
T.B Joshua who emphasized on the removal of the interview from Leadership website and other sites that stumbled upon it said “Remove this interview! The interview was not from me. Your staff never spoke with me. I was not around.”
The prophet who warned leadership newspaper to desist from lying against man and God said “Once again, Leadership Newspaper Editorial Staff should please remove this interview for God’s sake! Don’t fight a prophet, don’t fight God!”
The Prophet however asserted that he would be talking on the death of Atta Mill on Sunday live service of the Synagogue’s Church of God.
“Once again, readers, this is the first time I am talking to the public after the demise of our late president. I will talk as God instructs me on Sunday Live service on Emmanuel TV.
Don’t let anyone or organisations in any medium deceive you. I have not granted any interview and I will not because God has not permitted me until Sunday Service. I will not grant any interview until Sunday Live Broadcast.
The man of God also warned those who have the same interview published on their blogs and on their website to remove it asap . “Those that may have copied the false story from LEADERSHIP NEWSPAPER should remove it from their sites because this does not represent me. It is not from me”. He asserted. http://dailypost.com.ng/2012/07/28/dont-play-holy-spirit-prophet-t-b-joshua-warns-leadership-newspaper/ |
