Congrats to him. Olympic Gold and US Open all in the same year. He'll never forget 2012 |
dayokanu: Didnt Chioma Ajunwa represent Nigeria in Female football in China 1991 with uche Uecharia, Florence Omagbemi, Omo love branch, Ann Agunmannu etcYes she did. . .na Bonfrere Jo carry Falcons go that competition Why you dey ask? |
Triplets? Damn. . .her husband na sharp shooter o ![]() Congrats to Chioma Ajunwa. Wishing her the joys of motherhood ![]() |
otokx: In the end the overaged cheats lost, water must find its level? How can the same set of girls keep playing in every consecutive U20 tournament? And your point is? For your info, Dunn and Hayes of the USA are veterans of this competition and this is their 2nd consecutive U-20 tournament. Even Sidney Leroux of the US Women National team and Christiane Sinclair of Canada played in 3 Consecutive U-20 World Cups. Just making you realise it's possible since the competition is every 2years. I'm not saying our players were not overage though. |
Being that we led 2-1 at the end of the first half, it's disappointing this match ended in a draw but still playing 2-2 in an away game in Africa is a fair result |
Are our girls dragging the same boyfriends cos I don't understand why they're being selfish and ain't passing to each other. |
^^ Can't help but wonder. . .if this match had been at the same time with the Falconets match, which would most Nigerians watch? As a supporter of all Nigerian teams, I wish the Super Eagles the best. |
^^ No be na wa, na real wa Madness comes in different forms. . . .no be only to waka n@ked for road ![]() |
^^ Thread bookmarked. . . . . |
At least, try and be original https://www.nairaland.com/234108/india-vs-nigeria-99-1-abeg Thread locked! |
Nice. . .good morale booster for the team. Not sure but I don't recall any other Nigerian President visiting a Nigerian team preparing for a match/competition in training. Kudos Mr President. Your head dey there |

Browse NL and chat online as much as possible. . .at least that's what I do |
How I wish the match had fallen on Wednesday, my day-off from work. Now my biggest headache is how I'm going to watch the match. Anyhow sha, I go manage NL commentaries. Hopefully, sauer will be on this thread to run minute by minute live commentaries for me |
Not surprising as we have always performed better in the Paralympics than the Olympics Still, kudos to the paralympians. |
@ OP, What's your definition of "strength sports"? ![]() |
Dede1: Esther is not the only player guilty of trying to shine in the glory of individual goal scoring. Esther and her fellow attackers should be meant to understand there is bigger picture in winning the match than celebrating individual goal. For example, the Nigerian girls would have defeated Mexico by, at least, 3 goals if they were Germans. It is unfathomable a player attempts to score from long range when such attacker could have laid the ball on the path of unmarked teammate. CFCfan: @ Dede1: You're spot on with your analysis. I also think that their positional awareness needs to be improved. For instance, on several occasions, when a defender should pass the ball back to the goalkeeper under pressure, she (defender) decides to take on the opposing player. This has resulted in many needless concessions of throw-ins and corner-kicks. Against the USA, conceding needless set-pieces could be very dangerous. The girls should only attempt to shoot from about 25 yards or less; this will guarantee a better chance of hitting the target. The main thing is that that they should strike a balance between shooting outside the box and passing to an unmarked teammate.Couldn't have said it better. I agree with both of you |
Jacob Esan? He must keep a really low profile cos I've never heard of him |
Tony Tetuila - I really liked some of his old stuff like "Jigijigi", "Omode meta" ft 2Face, BlackFace, ruff, rugged & Raw and "fefenefe" featuring Tic-Tac but the guy has always been wack. Good thing he keeps a low profile and is not so much in our faces these days. Kenny Saint Brown - No musical talent, her voice irritates me to death, her songs no be am (even Ice Prince & Dagrin collabo's didn't cut it) and I can't stand her pious born-again attitude. Imagine that old mama youngie feeling like one better chic? She should thank Egbon Kenny for being on radio and TV at all.Davido - Hin Paale get kish and fit settle all the tv & radio stations, radio OAP's, DJ's & TV presenters/VJ's but dude is still wack and needs to get a day job like last year. Elajoe - Dude can't rap to save his life. Little or no rhyming skills, poor lyrical content, bad delivery, poor breath control etc. He's spoilt the few tracks he's been featured in. Jimmy Jatt's "Style" and Thoroughbred's "Streethop" readily come to mind. Funny thing be sey the guy come dey feel like rapper becos hin dey roll with Modenine. ![]() Goldie - Heard she was a sorta contractor before and she'd done some work for some telecom companies. She'd better get a 9-5 job ASAP cos she no go make am with music. No be curse but na FACT! ![]() |
sholay2011: Did you just call 'Mirror boy' a wack film? It's either u were high when u typed this or u saw d movie with your left eye closed. Bad belle!YES I called it wack and most NLDers who have seen the movie agree with me. Here's my comment on the Mirror Boy Makes Over N12million In First Week thread last year.
Hmmm. . .haven't seen the movie but from the little I've seen from the trailer, it's a substandard movie and the acting was definitely not it. i.e The scenes where the fat white boy was making fun of Genevieve's son, the fight between them, where Genevieve's son was slapped in the Market in Gambia etc all looked fake and unconvincing to me Hell, even Aki's ''false'' bad tooth & dentition looked totally ridiculous and laughable to me. . . result of bad make-up IMO. Only thing real and convincing to me (from the trailer) was Genevieve's crying and tears and that ain't surprising as na Nollywood actress she be ![]() All in all, the trailer does not inspire and motivate me to go watch it @ the Cinema or buy it when it's released on DVD. . .and this is what a trailer is supposed to do Lastly, why did Obi Emelonye write, direct and produce the movie? Does he have a problem with the concepts of ''division of labour'' and ''professionalism''? ![]() As far as me dey concerned, na typical Nollywood movie shot (in London & Gambia) with high-definition equipments and made with better technology than most Nollywood productions but the acting and performances get big comma Nothing spectacular about the movie and it's definitely not worth a visit to the cinema is my humble opinion
I'm not one of those Nollywood bashers and if a Nollywood movie is good, I'll say it is. You can check HERE for my contrasting review of another Nollywood movie to see what I mean ![]() I'm sure you fall into the category of peeps who think Jenifa and Blackberry Babes were awesome movies. . .Shioor! ![]() |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2Dspgsu9x8 Jeez! Nigerians producers/directors should make movies devoid of action/fighting scenes cos these parts of their movies suck |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00zC4oFmxEw I am so not feeling the trailer. . .the voice dey one kind and acting looks sub par. Reminds me of that wack Obi Emelonye film Mirror Boy ![]() |
ayusco: @semid dude u said it all been long I saw a naija player score such a classy goal. Why do u think I'v been clamouring for keshi to call him upHmmm. . .actually Osaze scored a goal exactly like that for Westbrom last season but that aside it's the intelligent execution that trips me. Most players would have placed the ball or taken a shot. |
