No long thing. . . .na me S-E-M-I-D-4-L-Y-F-E and I'm assuming y'all know my unblemished reputation wink

I've got an Unlocked ZTE MTN 3.5G 7.2Mbps Fastlink USB Modem for sale meaning it's UNIVERSAL and works with all the other GSM networks. . .Airtel, Glo & Etisalat. It's almost brand new and still with case. . . . .

Last Price is N4,500 (4.5k) and it's NOT NEGOTIABLE. If you've ever used ZTE & Huawei modems, you'll know that ZTE modems receive network signals better than Huawei modems.

It'd be best if you're Lagos-based so we can meet physically & you see what you're buying.

N.B: I'm ONLY selling it cos I've gotten another modem and it doesn't make sense to have two since the one I'm using presently is UNLOCKED too.

berem: don't mind those yeye nollywound people! When their counterparts in the western world are busy advancing in film making, they are here shooting films without using a celluloid.we want quality not quantity!
A movie can be shot with celluloid/advanced equipments and still be shyte e.g Mirror Boy tongue

I've seen some decent Nollywood movies that were shot with the home video camera.

Nollywood problem dey complex and multi-faceted

afam4eva: Local languages musn't be spoken throught the movie but it should be spoken where needed. For instance, if you're gonna shoot a movie that involves an office, it will be ok to use english while the actor in the office, sicne that's the language that's usually spoken in offices. But when the character in the movie goes home and wants to buy something from mama Nkechi, the person should switch to pidgin English because it's most unlikely that people communicate with their local retailer in Queens English. If the person goes to the village, then Igbo or whichever language that's spoken in the village should be spoken. I find it annoying that out Nollywood people will make villagers to speak English when that's not the reality of things. I hope we'll learn to get things right.
True and it's one of the reasons why I like The Figurine and rate it very high. It gives the movie a realistic feel and brings it closer home for the viewer. Here's an excerpt from my review of The Figurine last year

https://www.nairaland.com/628119/what-last-movie-watched-part/41
I absolutely love the language used in the movie. . . .the combination of English, Pidgin and Yoruba spoken was perfect for a story set in 21st century Lagos and it wasn't misused at all in relation to the characters. As in, characters who were supposed to speak English to each other spoke English and those who were supposed to speak Pidgin or Yoruba spoke exactly that. For example, it would have being foolish for Shola to have conversed with his Lecturer in Pidgin or Yoruba.

Aqva: Don't be deceived. U will find it difficult to get married like this except there is a life style change. Try to be livlier with guys. Not saying u shld throw yourself at them but be more friendly and show more interest. Try to visit the movies and other social places when you have your off days. There are church services that hold weekdays, try and attend some too. I know u def dnt work 24/7/365.
Also let close friends and family knw that if they have a nice, decent guy, that you wouldn't mind meeting them. Truth is very many married women today, even till dis day married their husbands through hooking up.
Cheer up and hope for d best.

Saw the movie some days ago and it had mad, furious & relentless action.

Best fighting scenes I've seen in a long while. Plot and dialogue were weak but that's forgive-able considering it's genre.

Overall, I'll rate it a 7/10

Not sure this is what we need in the Industry right now

Emphasis should be on making quality movies and not churning out movies in Indigenous languages

Sports › Re: Yobo Wants More Foreign Pros In Eagles Defence by semid4lyfe(mod):
Question - when did Yobo become Coach of the Super Eagles?

The reports from Liberia had it that Yobo was the weakest link in the defence and he had to be subbed for Efe Ambrose so I wonder what he's yapping about undecided

As I recall, the Super Eagles defence consisted of foreign pros (Yobo, Efe Ambrose, Taiye Taiwo & Fengor Ogude) when the team played that 2-2 draw against Guinea in the AFCON 2012 Qualifier in Abuja.

This is bad for team morale and very unprofessional of Yobo. He should do his work on the pitch and leave coaching decisions to Keshi.
Sports › Yobo Wants More Foreign Pros In Eagles Defence by semid4lyfe(mod):
Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo yesterday made a passionate appeal for more foreign based Eagles defenders to be drafted into the team for greater understanding and strength.

Yobo who addressed the press at the NFF secretariat in Abuja where he had gone to pay the leadership of the football federation a courtesy call said he enjoyed playing with the home based players in the defence but there is need for more experienced foreign based defenders to come in and lend a helping hand.

He said the home based defenders are good but being the only foreign based player in the defence puts him under serious pressure due to lack of enough understanding.

The Eagles captain maintained that in the match against the Lone Star of Liberia, he was paired with three home based defenders and that made things really difficult for him because it was not easy for to adjust to playing with the home boys.

Yobo therefore said if at least two more foreign based players are brought in to help man the defence, it would help reduce the pressure on him just as he said it would also help bring stability in the very important area.

He maintained that the home-based Eagles have shown promises but they need to play along with their more experienced colleagues because playing in the defence requires experience which he said cannot be bought in the market.

His words: They are good players who are still developing. When you play in certain positions, the more you play with some regular players, the more you understand them and the more you blend with them.

"But been the only foreign based player in the Eagles defence gives me pressure now. We are playing abroad and they are here, sometimes you find it difficult to adjust. This is very obvious. The players I paired with are good players, no doubt, but it can be difficult, playing with players you are not familiar with.

"You can see I paired with three local based players in the defence, They have shown that they can hold their own and match the foreign based. But it is difficult playing with people that you not familiar with. If you ask my opinion, I will want at least two home based and two foreign based to man the defence, may be that will give me a little bit of balance and this key area need a lot of understanding among the players.

"I say this because I know that you cannot buy experience in the defence position. The language is a little bit different. But they are doing great and I am very happy with all of them".

TV/Movies › Nollywood To Start Producing Ijaw Films by semid4lyfe(op):
The Bayelsa State government on Wednesday organized a one day symposium with the aim of promoting the makıng of fılms ın Izon and other indigenous languages in Nigeria.

The governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson, who was represented by hıs deputy Gboribiogha John Jonah, told guest at the symposium, that the government is interested in the project and will support the rich heritage of the Izon race.

In hıs remark, Mr Jonah stressed on the resolve of the state Government to encourage mandatory teachıng of the Ijaw language ın schools.

“When we can produce students that will be proficient in writing in our language then they can actually act in the language. They must be able to read and write in the language before they are able to act,” the deputy governor said.

The symposium, which attracted top Nollywood actors, took place in Yenagoa the Bayelsa State capital.

Nollywood actor, Olu Jacob emphasızed the need for fılms to be made ın our ındıgenous languages.

“There are already Hausa language movies, Igbo language movies, why should there not be Ijaw language movies,” he asked.

Mr Jacob said acting movies in indigenous language is good for communication.

“English is not our language. It is our joy; it is our pride to use our language to communicate. The power, the joy and love in that language will be lost when you translate it,” he said.

Veteran actress Hılda Dokubo also applauded the ıdea, referrıng to ıt as a welcomed development.

“This is not only a welcome idea but an idea that is very fruitful and productive,” she said.

Wıth thıs ınnovatıon the Nollywood ındustry ıs gradually taking ıts root ın Bayelsa State.
