all4naija: @semid4lyfe Don't you have other things doing? I don't mean to offend you in any. Taking a look at the list of movies posted by you above it is coercing to ask such a question.

Believe it or not, I work a v.demanding & tasking 9-5 job which includes two weekends every month but then again, these movies were not watched in a week or a month but over a very loooooooooooooooong period of time.

Does that satisfactorily answer your question?

Young Adult (2011) - slow and boring. . .in short, a very disappointing movie. Watch it ONLY if you've got nothing else to do 4/10

Real Steel (2011) - awesome movie. . .loved the concept of robotic boxing and something tells me this will happen in the future. Goes straight into my top 10 boxing movies list. 7.5/10

Stuck Between Stations (2011) - a well scripted, dialogue driven piece. . . .okay for a one time watch 6/10

Dream House (2011) - Not bad for a psycho-thriller. At least, it had a few twists 6/10

The Courier (2011) - Okay movie. Decent action and storyline. Worth a one-time watch 5.5/10

Mr & Mrs Smith (2005) - Not a strong plot but Brad & Jolie had good chemistry together and their performances were convincing. To SMS, it's not the best in the action-comedy-romance movie genre but it ain't bad either. 6/10

Revolutionary Road (2008) - movie was made by the efficient dialogue and very convincing performances from the cast. Overall, a good albeit saddening and depressing movie 7.5/10

Sweet November (2001) - sappy romantic drama. It took too long to get to the essence of the story and the characters were kinda shallow. . . .like sey people like Charlize Theron's character exist in real life. . .shioor! 4.5/10

Wanted (2008) - starring James McAvoy, Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman. As far as the plots goes, it's weak but for pure action, special effects and thrill, I rate it a 10/10. Overall I'll score it 6/10

Remember The Titans (2000) - A sports film about a high school football team set in the period when schools in the US had just been desegregated. Movie had underlying themes of racism, intolerance, discrimination, friendship etc etc. Nice good movie with a good plot and convincing performances from the cast. 7.5/10

A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) - Not a bad movie but it wasn't great either. I actually expected it to be scarier and creepier than it was. . . .movie was also a bit boring 5.5/10

Zombie Apocalypse (2011) - Everything about this movie sucked. 1/10

Freedom Writers (2006) - Knew how it was going to end right from the beginning but still an interesting movie 6/10

Original Sin (2001)- Good plot with some unexpected twists. Acting was good too >> 7/10

Attack the Block (2011) - a fun action alien teen movie. No dull moment. . .loved the urban London setting and the hood accent & slangs added something special to it. I'll score it 6/10

Act of Valor (2012) - Silly propaganda movie from the Pentagon. Story line has been rehashed so many times and the acting was sub par 4/10

Sucker Punch (2011) - Pure rubbish! 1/10

Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol (2011)- AWESOME movie. . .best of the MI installments IMO. Good plot, nice action sequences & stunts, very convincing performances etc etc Good thing I waited for the bluray to be released online before downloading and watching cos watching any other version wouldn't have done the movie justice. 8/10

Ip Man (2008) - Great story, awesome martial arts and some nicely timed humor to counteract negative turns in the plot 6.5/10

Erin Brockovich (2000) - Actually thought it'd be boring but there was always something interesting happening that kept my attention. Julia Roberts portrayed her character well. I'll score it a 7/10

14 Blades (2010) - Epic Chinese kungfu martial arts movie starring Donnie Yen. . . .the plot wasn't the best but the fighting scenes and the stunts made up for it. 6/10

Shame (2011)- Step aside Mr Lexington Steele . On a serious note, one is better off watching ''mojo'' or a ''bestseller'' than this movie. . .and the movie take style dryyyy 4/10

Before Sunrise (1995)- A character & dialogue driven movie. Not for the ''un-intelligent'' 7/10

Killing Me Softly - starring Heather Graham and Joseph Fiennes. Kinky, steamy, intense, passionate, mystery, twisted etc etc. Got me some ideas from this movie. . .I recommend it highly 7/10

Beyond (2011) - a police detective thriller with a little bit of the supernatural. Good for a one time watch. 5.5/10

The Wolfman (2010) - Hmmmmmm. . . .a classical type of werewolf movie without too much special effects. A bit slow and boring at the beginning but overall a good movie 6/10

A Marine Story (2010) - Movie was just too bland 4/10

Jerusalem Countdown (2011) - e wan take style resemble 24 plot i.e. Terrorists smuggle a nuke into America and two agents race against time to find the nuke and prevent the Terrorists from carrying out their dastardly act. 5.5/10

The Sum of All Fears (2002)- a political-espionage thriller starring Ben Affleck & Morgan Freeman. A nuke goes off in Baltimore and it bring's Russia & America to the brink of war. Movie was so good I downloaded the novel immediately after cos I know it'd be so much better. 7.5/10

The Hurricane (1999) - Brilliant movie, awesome performance from Denzel. . . .he deserved the Oscar more for this movie than for Training Days. 8.5/10

Joyful Noise (2012) - A musical drama starring Queen Latifah, Dolly Parton & Keke PaLmer. Hmmm. . ..I felt there should have been more performances in the National competition as e come be like sey na only two choirs participate for am. I also felt the Kid Choir group had the better all-round performance and should have won the competition but na film and actor nor dey carry last. All in all, it was an enjoyable movie 5.5/10

The Vow (2012)- SPOILER: husband and wife are involved in a car accident, husband recovers fully but wife does not and loses some of her memories and can only remember things up to the point in her life when she was still with her parents. So the husband starts dating her all over again to make her fall in love with him. Liked the movie. . .I'll rate it a 6.5

Chronicle (2012) - Just saw this yesterday. Run time is about 1hr30mins but my advice is watch the first 45mins to get the hang of it, then jump to the last 15 minutes to see how it ends lol 5.5/10

TV/Movies › Re: What Was The Last Movie You Watched - Part 2 by semid4lyfe(m): 11:24pm On May 04, 2012*

Underworld (2003) - Brilliant! Well scripted and the interaction between the characters was really good. Loads of action and killing mixed with some horror 7/10

Underworld Evolution (2006) - Even better than the first installment. Some great action set pieces especially the helicopter crash and the truck pursuit. 7.5/10

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (2009) - actually a prequel to the first two installments. Quite good on it's own but in comparison to Underworld and Underworld Evolution, this one dropped the ball. . .6.5/10

Underworld Awakening (2011) - short and action packed but still, I had higher expectations cos the the others installments were v.good. From the way it ended, I expect another installment. I'll score it a 6/10

Justice League Doom (2012) - Animated Justice League movie. . .7/10

Batman Beyond Return of the Joker (2000) - an animated batman movie about his arch enemy The Joker 6.5/10

The Sorcerer and the White Snake (2011) - This Chinese movie is tha shiznit. Fantasy, romance, martial arts, stunts, special effects. . .name it, this movie has it all. The story was simply amazing, and the acting was spot on. The action scenes were visually perfect in every aspect that one can ask for. I highly recommend it. . .8.5/10

One for the Money (2012) - Wetin be the difference between this movie and the Bounty Hunter featuring Gerard Butler and Jennifer Anniston? Nothing! 5/10

Like Crazy (2011)- Loved this movie like crazy 7/10

Immortals (2011)- Enjoyable, visually impressive if not a little predictable. Watched it all the way through without checking the run timer. Not bad, don't expect to be wowed, but it's worth a watch. . 6.5/10

Apocalypto [2006] - BRILLIANT, MAGNIFICENT. . .in short, a MASTERPIECE. 9.5/10

The Descendants (2011) - Good movie. . .slow paced & easy to follow. 7.5/10

Superman/Batman: Public Enemies (2009) - an animated Batman/superman movie - 7/10

The Skin I Live In (2011) - Downloaded and watched this movie cos of MBJ's comment on this thread. The movie wasn't as good as it was hyped. . . 5.5/10

Carnage (2011) - Good movie! Great cast & great acting! You gats pay attention to the ''back & forth'' dialogue to really enjoy it. . .and the phone ringing at the end?. . .what an intelligent way to end the movie 7/10

Resident Evil AfterLife (2010) - WACK!. . .and that Boris Kodjoe guy no sabi act at all 3/10

Never Let Me Go (2010)- Watch this movie if you're having trouble sleeping cos it'll send you to sleep faster than sleeping tablets. Movie is so boring 4/10

Blade 3 Trinity (2004) - Liked this movie v.much when I first saw it but seeing it now , I'll rate it average 5.5/10

Forces Speciales (2011) - A French journalist is kidnapped in Afghanistan by the Taliban and an elite Special Forces Unit of the French Army goes in to rescue her with the Taliban hot in pursuit. Not the best military rescue movie I've seen. . .5/10

Columbus Circle (2012) - seemed boring at first but it quickly got interesting and the twists at the end made the film worthwhile 6.5/10

Carjacked (2011) - Beginning was a bit slow but then again the storyline had to be laid and it got really interesting mid-point. Liked how it ended. Worth a one time watch 6/10

Good Deed (2012) - Typical Tyler Perry movie with predictable plot and cliched ending. 5.5/10

Ghost Rider (2007) - Hmmm. . . .wasn't wowed. I expected much better from Nicholas Cage and Eva Mendes but I'll still score it 6/10

Seeking Justice (2011) - Didn't expect this movie to be good with all the crap Nicholas Cage has been putting out lately but I was pleasantly surprised. It's a good action movie 7/10

Footloose (2011) - an interesting and enjoyable movie 6/10

Beastly (2011) - modern day Beauty and the Beast. Not the best of movies but it was fun to watch and enjoyable 6/10

Kick A$$ (2010) - action, comedy, teenage romance, superheroes stuff etc. . .overall, a very good movie. . .7/10

Game Change (2012)- the HBO political drama on the behind the scene happenings of the McCain-Palin presidential campaign. Stellar performance from Ed Harris and Julianne Moore. Their resemblance (after make-up) to the real life characters was so striking it was uncanny and they nailed their roles of John McCain & Sarah Palin respectively. I followed the 2008 US Presidential elections keenly and the movie correlates with the news reports. With the way Palin was portrayed in this movie, her political career or what was left of it is dead. All in all, a very good movie. . . 7.5/10

TV/Movies › Re: What Was The Last Movie You Watched - Part 2 by semid4lyfe(m): 11:22pm On May 04, 2012

NOW THE OTHER MOVIES. . . . . . .

5 Days of War (2011) - Based on the true events of Russia-Georgia war. A decent war drama with enough action to keep one entertained . 7/10

Please Give (2010) - essentially a character & dialogue driven drama about real flawed people. 6/10

Monte Carlo (2011) - a cute teen chick flick. . . 5.5/10

The Change-Up (2011) - Although it's a comedy, it did have some sad reality checks in it. Loved Ryan Reynolds character in this movie. Movie was damn hilarious. . .7/10

Blackberry Babes (2011) - exaggerated & unrealistic story. Absolutely rubbish movie. . .sorry for your IQ if you enjoyed it. -5/10

True Justice Deadly Crossing (2009) - Typical Steven Seagal movie. . .action movie with a weak plot, arm twisting, bone crushing and all those stuff he's known for. 5/10

True Justice Street War (2010) - Same as above 5/10

Sex and the City 2 (2010) - Hmmmm. . .can't say much for the movie but it was kinda nice to see the exotic side of the Middle East. Maybe I'll rate this movie higher if I were female 5.5/10

Killers (2010) - Typical Katherine Heigl movie. . .enjoyable but not too good and it had almost the same plot as Mr & Mrs Smith. 5.5/10

Trespass (2011) - dragged in some parts, had a few bouts of overacting especially from Nicole Kidman but it had me watching till the end 6/10

Swat: Firefight (2011) - a decent action movie but the first S.W.A.T with Samuel L. Jackson and Colin Farrell was better. 6/10

Pride (2007) - starring Terrence Howard & the late Bernie Mac. Hmmm. . ..I'll limit my comments to the scorecard 5.5/10

Breaking Dawn Pt 1 (2011) - Not too interesting but vis-a-vis the book, it was very good IMO cos there was very little deviation (apart from Irina attending the wedding, the werewolves chasing Carlisle, Esme & Emmett when they went hunting to get more blood for Bella and the fight between the Cullens & Quilettes). To SMS, I liked it cos of the tight adaptation so I'll score it a 6/10.

Children Of The Corn (2011) - Not a bad movie. Was able to hold my attention for it's duration. Didn't understand the end though . .5.5/10

Beyond the Blackboard (2011) - a made-for-tv family movie. It was interesting sha 5/10

War of the Arrows (2011) - Ancient Korean epic war movie entirely focused on archery. Also has the chase element and it kinda reminds me of Apocalypto. a 7.5 IMO

Game of Death (2010) - Hehehehe. . .E don be for Wesley Snipes o for hin to dey act this kain wack movie 2/10

Death at a Funeral (2010) - a comedy film with an ensemble star cast. Movie was a laugh riot. . . .Overall, movie was v.interesting & highly entertaining. I loved it. . . 7.5/10

Behind Enemy Lines (2001)- Owen Wilson sucked in this movie or maybe it's just me not used to seeing him in action flicks. 5.5/10

Tower Heist (2011) - Wasn't as funny as I expected. Very realistic ending though 6/10

TV/Movies › Re: What Was The Last Movie You Watched - Part 2 by semid4lyfe(m): 7:20pm On May 04, 2012*

Just the Indian movies I've seen since the last time I posted about a movie here. . . . .

I Hate Love Storys (2010) - a romantic drama starring Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor. 7/10

Race (2008) - starring Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Anil Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif and Semeera Reddy. The suspense, twists & turns in this movie ehn. . .make I reserve my remaining comments to the scorecard. .8/10

Pyaar Impossibe (2010) - starring Uday Chopra & Priyanka Chopra. Not a bad movie but Priyanka's costumes in the movie were something else. I mean, which corporate executive wears such provocative and revealing clothes to work? 6/10

Wanted (2009)- starring Salman Khan. Gosh! This movie is so over-rated. It seems it doesn't take much to make a blockbuster movie in Bollywood . . . .5.5/10

Dabangg (2010)- Another overhyped and over-rated Salman Khan movie. I'll rate it same as Wanted above. . .5.5/10

Ladies vs Ricky Bahl (2011)- 3 Ladies who were swindled by a handsome con artist get together, recruit a lady to con the con artist and recover their money but the lady and the con artist fall in love lol. Cheesy shey? Still, it was very interesting and the musical numbers dey very ''hip'' and sweet die. 7/10

Namastey London (2007)- a romantic drama starring Ashkay Kumar & Katrina Kaif. Loved it. . .7.5/10

Don (2006)- starring SRK and Priyanka Chopra. Dem take style copy Face-Off for this movie but the twist at the end ehn. . .I nor expect am. I'll rate it 6/10

Players (2012) - a ''heist'' movie starring Abhishek Bachchan, Sonaam Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Bobby Deol and the guy wey dey trip from Katrina's character in the movie, New york (2009). Kai, Indians can sabi copy The movie was a rip-off of two American movies - The Italian Job and Tower Heist. 5/10

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011) - starring Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif and two Indian actors wey I nor sabi lol Not exactly original in my opinion as it was very similar to the Hollywood movie Vicky Christina's Barcelona. 6.5/10

Bride and Prejudice (2004)- Not sure if this should be here but then it's an Indian story and has a primarily Indian cast. 6/10

In short, if u no dey watch Indian films, you dey miss o

NRI PRIEST: Come on dude, am not here to score any cheap point but we must call a spade what it is. Am sure you watch hollywood and nollywood movies alike and you will not swear genny has what it takes to break into the industry. Stephnie Okereke went for an audition in new york after she graduated from a film school in california and they asked her if she has ever acted before and she said she has been in over 100 movies and they started laughing and asked what age was ? Dude, 90% of nigerian actors/actresses cant even speak a clear, free flowing english because our schools are like a shiit dump where they raise block heads!
Ghanian actresses are way better than what 150 million Nigerians can produce. Nigeria doesnt have the institution to produce top class actors like Ghana talk more of frea.king AMERICA! The only thing we nigerians do best is bribery, corruption, stealing, pushing drugs, defrauding the American healthcare system and nothing more! Nigeria is a VERY WICKED NATION that must keep surfering until who knows.

Was reading your post until I got to the part in bold and I stopped cos it's pure bullocks.

But then again. . .what's to be expected from someone who by his own admission is very bitter & frustrated and thinks Chinwetel Ejiofor is a Nollywood star.

Nevertheless, I agree Genny is not that good an actress but with some research on her part and a good director she'll do fine.
