I've just completed 'Funky Patient': Screenplay For A Short Film.

I started out writing a completely different story, but this screenplay took on on a life of its own - it became completely different from what I initially intended to write. I decided to release it as a short story instead. Enjoy!

Maybe these women were beaten so much by their fathers that they think it's ok for their husbands to do the same. Afterall, a woman is "biblically" expected to "submit" to her husband as if he's her father. Nonsense.

One thing about life is that if you put yourself on the floor, people will definitely step on you. Father, mother, brother, sister, friend, enemy, boss, employee, colleagues: If you leave yourself vulnerable, they'll take advantage of it.

On a lighter note, I believe the best brains we have may be selling pure water on the streets or turning to violence due to a systematic deprivation that face them through no fault of theirs.

Selling pure water is ok. What does Dangote sell? Mere sugar! It's all about dedication and scale.

Turning violent is not ok. Criminals will always find something to blame their actions on.

Selling pure water is a legitimate business. Turning violent is criminal. Don't talk as if they are basically the same.

You've read some of my movie production related threads on this forum - posting stories, calling for stories, wanting to buy a camcorder, et cetera. I'm posting this topic because I've decided to be a writer/director like Mike Bamiloye.

I want to write my own stories designed to pass accross a message to the public and direct the production of movies based on those screenplays myself. Then I'll try my best to market those movies to the widest audience.

She was visiting Temple University’s film program and gave a guest lecture about her work. After showing some clips from her most recent film, The Head Of A Pin, shot exclusively on video, she explained that she has officially made the so-called “switch” and is not going back to shooting on film.

Su summed up her reasons for the conversion by saying that, having made a number of films and achieved considerable success, she still had a hard time finding funding her films. Su cited other, more specific reasons for converting as well: the disappearance of the NEA and other film funding sources; diminished amounts of grant money being awarded (e.g. a grant in the 1980s that would award $300, 000 might now be closer to $30,000); increased competition for the remaining number and amounts of film funding; and, of course, persistent rumors about film’s impending death once digital technology is improved.

I found her conversion (and her justification of it) all the more significant given the amount of her work that relies on the qualities of celluloid (i.e. scratching the film’s emulsion, optical printing, etc.) for its visual style and overall impact. If someone like Su Friederich is willing to make the switch, I imagine many more “accomplished” and veteran filmmakers will soon cross over to the “dark” side of video.

Those are mere speculations. Why would someone want to advice him based on speculations?

Path to self-employment
a) Look for a problem that is really paining people.
b) Search for an affordable solution to the problem.
c) Find a customer who is willing to pay for the solution.

If you choose your business properly, you won't need too much initial capital.
The initial capital you need will be a little amount that your family or friends can help you out with.
