i want to believe all these clubs have their fair share of surpporters, na Fan i no sabi. because a fan would go to any lenght to lift his club, he flaunts it when he can and he lives it. Did you hear about the guys who came from Australia to California to surpport Michael Jackson when he was on trial? Those are fans. for better for worse they would always be there.
the kind of 'fans' i see in Nija are ceiling, standing, wall and table fans, they are best called surporters cause they migrate when the chips are down. how many Chelsea fans did you see pre Mourinho? and how many Bolton fans are around now? we used to have them Plenty in Ife when i was a student there some years back.
so which one are you? Fan or Surporter

Loyika,
I believe you should grow up and stop getting personal. we are here to throw banters at clubs and not at one another. Anyway i am not surprised, Arsenal has had a case of unruly behaviour from players this season. or maybe it is a case of like players like fans.
Lick your wounds for this season and come back next season. wishing you all the best.
Meanwhile rejoice in the trophy you got, afterall you might likely be the only team to beat MAN UTD home and away this season.

It has to be arsenal, their beautiful style of play and the fact that Kanu was there for so long made them Nigeria's number 1 English club. I am not an arsenal fan though and i will never be

Lest i forget, the gooners have always been shouting about their youth team. those guys were just sent packing from the Youth FA Cup by our small boys ooooooo.
So if you beat us in the Premiership and have nothing to show for it, we have beaten you at the youth FA cup and we would have something to show for it.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Man U Wins Treble by seunspice(m): 1:02pm On Apr 03, 2007
Thank God, the goners have something to be proud of, after a dismal season, they have a trophy to show for it. i did say when it happened that the two wins over United would be the only thing to celebrate for Arsenal at the end of the season. my words are coming true ,
The most inconsistent team of the season worldwide, meaningless beautiful play with no sense of purpose.
It is too early to celebrate a treble, but after our win against blackburn (who burnt us over and over last few seasons) i feel the league is secure. we still have to overcome chelsea (probably twice this season) then lets walk past roma, We all know our champions league games have not been too convincing (same as 99 early stages) but we all sould hope for the best.

i graduated from ife few years ago, and i believe the crisis would never end except a lot of things change. i came into ife in 1997 bearing a 1996 matric number, no thanks to the anti Abacha ASUU strike, but before pointing to ASUU or the federal Government, i always want to look inwards and see where it all went wrong. The student union has long been held by the 'strong hands' of the Scapites (DSM) and other 'political parties' and unfortunately, these parties have guys who are majorly NFAs in their folds. 'Saint' for all those around anytime from 1997 who contested the CEC elections and lost to VAKAMA was later found not to be a bonafide student in 1996, cause he had been 'chocked' much longer. My good friend Burkina suffered the same fate, it was learnt he was departmentless at the time of his impeachment,
The NFAs call a congress few weeks to exams and site many reasons why exams should not hold and before you say Ife, 'Will Exams hold?' become the commonest refrain on campus. In few days tension mounts on campus, alutas begin 'Scientifically' (Legacy), 'yanically' (Vakama), 'Dynamically' (Dr 3As) and all the callys used by other SUG presidents.
I witnessed it all. The worst part though is the looting of the Treasury at all levels, from departmental associations to the student Union level. I was campaign manager for my assistant calss rep twice for the post of VP SUG, and by the time she got the seat and vacated it, rumors of scandalous pilfering of close to 2 million naira was the order of the day. i felt so ashamed. I hope there is a future for Nigeria.
Greatest Ife, going by History, do not expect to resume until after the elections are concluded. In 1999, prior to the Junior world cup to be hosted by Nigeria, there were series of congresses all geared at forcing the regime of Prof Omole(then VC) to recall the suspended or otherwise, Tony Fash, The Aluta led by LEGACY then SUG president and the Late Afrika (Gen Sec) was held scientifically (without arson) for 5 days, there was the Aluta concert held on Monday at the Motion ground, the protest march to the VC's lodge and the aluta crusade held at the Majestic Amphi Theatre ( I still miss that Place), there were many aluta prophecies uttered on the altar of alutas that day. We were all chorusing 'Pawon, Gbosa, ' for a whole week. Then came the threat from legacy that we were to go to lagos and distrupt the opening ceremony of Nigeria 99, and since OBJ had been soundly embarassed at the Conference center few months earlier (prior to his election as Predsident), the government was the wiser. We were shut down for 3 months, the final match of Nija 99 had been far played before we resumed again. we resumed on the 14 of June only to be faced by shooting stars on the 10th of july. 1999/2000 session lasted 18 months.
So write it down, ife resumes after the elections must have been concluded and probably results announced. I wish you all well.
Aluta Continua Victoria Acerta
Hope i got it right, its been a while.

Are we here to correct people or to enjoy the forum? Abeg make una all stick to the Topic and stop personalising issues. Yar Adua die or no die. we are just few weeks to the main the main. and like i said in my earlier post, watch out for the greatest drama series so far.
PoliticsRe: Yar'Adua Is Die by seunspice(m): 1:39pm On Mar 07, 2007
Yes, Yar Adua is dead. I once told a friend that the coming elections would play out a drama series not heard of before in Nija, even the acclaimed english premiership and the tele novellas that have taken hold of our TV sets would be nothing compared to what we are about to witness in the forthcoming weeks and months. I can see the hand of God in all these,
Can i get a witnesshuh?
I really pity Yar Adua, but you know what i feel he should not have allowed himself to be pushed.
God bless Nigeria.
SportsRe: The Best Team In The English Premiership by seunspice(m): 4:48pm On Feb 11, 2007
Now you did not say for sure if you are talking of the present or over timebut as far as the premiership is concerned, the Best Club is Manchester United, since they have notched up more premiership triumphs than any other and are presently leading the table. Forget the cameo appearance made by Chelsea in the last 2 seasons. It was all just a Cameo, Nothing more.
All Hail United.

I honestly pray we win the league and maybe one or two trophies but safety first,

Music/RadioRe: What Is Wrong With Michael Jackson? by seunspice(op): 5:27pm On Oct 13, 2006
He was in the middle east as guest to the crown prince of Bahrain who also owns 2seas records (the record company that was to drop MJ's latest effort) but as at now, Michael is no longer with 2seas, he is in the UK. Putting 'final' touches to the album and probably looking for a deal with any record company.
I find it almost hard to believe that the guy whose Videos form the bedrock of MTV's stability can now be out of a record label deal.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Why Is Thierry Henry Mediocre In Major Tournaments? by seunspice(m): 11:26am On Oct 13, 2006
Talking of bias, i think loyika has tried his best to be impartial in buttressing his point. As per links, i do not know if all ESPN's programs are detailed online but i quoted from a program i saw on TV. I have this attitude of recording from TV to watch over again so i still have the tape.
i dig loyika's points and i have seen some of the links (although the www.rssf.com link was altogether unrelated to the object of discussion, pls check again loyika). Undoubtedly, Henry is a good player, and i repeat the very best i have seen in Arsenal colours, he is in my list of all time greats anytime anyday.
However, my conviction stands that RUUD is better. I very much appreciate Loyika and his opinion, i think he has a matured mind and a golden heart. UP RUUDY, UP HENRY
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Why Is Thierry Henry Mediocre In Major Tournaments? by seunspice(m): 7:51am On Oct 12, 2006
I think it is criminal on the part of tyler to compare Henry and RUUD. RUUD has played far less seasons in the premiership than Henry, since you are so into statistics and quotes Loika why not try and fathom out the productivity of henry to arsenal the few seasons RUUD was in Man U (in all competitions) Saw him in the France game against Faroe Islands yesterday, men he was ok. Let him repeat his performance against Brazil at the world cup twice and i would agree with you. Henry scores good goals against weak defences.
He is a very good player, possibly the best arsenal has ever seen, but Please keep him in his league, when he proves himself outside the premiership. he can then say he is something.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Why Is Thierry Henry Mediocre In Major Tournaments? by seunspice(m): 2:13pm On Oct 10, 2006
well, my comments are based on Derek Rae's (ESPN) conclusion. He arrived at that decision based on
1.  The calculation of goals averaged per premiership match between RUUD and henry.
2. The lenght of time it took both strikers to settle down in their respective clubs. RUUD was highest goal scorer in his first season, Henry was not even in the starting line up in his first.
3. The fact that RUUD has been proved and tested in another league (Dutch) before England (he left Holland as back to back highest goal scorer and once player of the year in the dutch league). henry was a collosal failure in Italy.

Maybe if he leaves England and performs i could go crazy about him, why did he chicken out of the Barca Move? you may ask.
All the same sha, he is just ok by me

Now you all say RUUD is a poacher but i think someone said ', the end justifies the means'

Yeah thanks, i hope he finally gets to release the album, i am just concerned that album would not do too well for his standards, considering the negative publicity. I am a die hard fan too and i just wish him well.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Why Is Thierry Henry Mediocre In Major Tournaments? by seunspice(m): 10:49am On Oct 07, 2006
Kindly go watch clips of 'Le Bleus' at the last world cup. 3 magical goals from that guy would make you change your mind. I am not an Henry fan, neither an Arsenal fan but calling a spade a spade, he is undoubtedly the greatest after Ronaldo de lima and Adriev Shevy and of course RUUD VAN NILSTEROOY.
Ciao
