Are the graduates not working? They are being paid to work not cos they got a 2.1 or 2.2 degree. And the DSA that got a commission of 3million probably brought in like 300million to the bank. In our economy how many people can mobilise a deposit of 300 million? What is wrong is wrong and paying slave wages to workers is just PLAIN WRONG!!!!!! But be a man and do not let your parents dictate who you should marry. Listen to their advise but let that decision be yours and yours alone. The story of his conversion really moved me. In fact that's what got me back to spending time with God every morning before I zoom off to work. I was like if God can change someone as bad as that then he can definitely change me.

Talking about Demon Hunter, they featured a secular band called SoilWork on this their last album. Do you think that's right for a 'christian' band?

And what do you think about all them bands that water-down their lyrics? They obviously avoid using the name 'Jesus' just to sell records. 85% of the christian bands I know don't mention the name 'Jesus'.

@mostojr Yes you are right about the watered down lyrics, but there are 2 reasons for this. 1.) To gain a wider audience 2) rock has always been about capturing the full range of human emotions and christian rock acts are no exception. They sing about our struggles as christians,love,anger,sin and a million other things to keep the music relevant. And I do not think it is wrong for a christian act to feature a secular band. There have been lots of collaborations between christian and secular bands. I mean Flyleaf even opened for Korn once(i thought that was odd).

I just started liking 'Hanging by a thread'. Not bad at all. But the real hit in the album should be 'Collapse'. I do try to "test the spirit behind every song". However, sometimes I just let it play as long as it is labeled gospel. Even if it's bad, it can't be as bad as some secular bands.
I no dey buy CD o! My money never reach. I went to the media shop in the palms, lekki and CDs go for like N3500! Imagine. My guy/girl for now I go just dey download for free. God understands. Lol!

Yeah I left out Third day cos I no dey too feel them. They don't dress like rockers even though they have a few good songs. David Crowder Band is definitely cool. Those bands are for the days I'm feeling spiritual. LoL!

I think Brian 'HEAD' Welch's conversion experience was a fantastic one
and you should try and read his ebook about his experiences in Korn.
His album was head banging and pretty spiritual, I particularly loved the

@valacious If you checkmy earlier post on top, I suggested a couple of christian rock artists that you would probably like. Check them out and no you can not get Christian rock cds in Naija. BUt you can try downloading from itunes or amazon or you could "borrow" from friends.

Let me add my two cents here. I LOOOOVVVEEEE ROCK!!!! I started off listening to mostly secular rock then in my University days I was introduced to Christian Rock. One thing I have always loved about rock music is the brutal honesty of it. They sing about everything from anger,happiness,sadness,sex,drugs and even Our Saviour, Jesus Christ. These are my favourites(in no particular order)

Christian Rock

Red - These guys are amazing, their first album - End of Silence is probably one of the best rock albums I have listened to. They sound like Linkin Park but a little harder and without the rap.
Skillet - Fantastic and their lyrics are out of this world. You can not be unaffected by their lyrics. They have done everything from hard to soft rock to garage and electronica. Their lead vocalist has a gravelly voice like Chad.
Pillar - Fantastic second album - Fireproof - that is probably one of Christian Rock's finest.
Switchfoot - The most famous Christian rock act with the exception of creed. Very good and inspiring mid tempo rock.
Benjamin Gate - South African band with a female vocalist that reminds me of Cranberries. They have a very good mix of soft and mid tempo rock tinged with electronica
Thousand Foot Krutch - Crazy dudes. They are also into the Rap Rock thing though their latest album was a straight up Rock album.

Secular
Linkin Park - My all time favourite rock band. Their first 2 albums meteora and hybrid theory is a must for any lover of rock music. Their last album though was a complete flop as they changed their style to more radio friendly rock which sounded terrible.
Nickelback - Yeah baby, best known for Spiderman soundtrack, these guys ROCK!! I just love Chad's gravelly voice, it goes so well with head banging drums and guitar riffs. In my opinion their last album was also terrible. Seemed like all they could think about was S*x,S*x,S*x.  The album didnt have that Nickelback edge but it did ok in charts sha
U2 These guys have been together longer than I have been on earth. I absolutely love All that you cant leave behind. They do Rock music with a conscience.
Cranberries - The very best example of good ole Celtic Rock. Why did they have to split?
Il Nino - The best in Spanish hard rock. They mix rock and metal all in Spanish and English.
Avril lavigne - Girl power baby!!!! This chic sure knows how to rock, Her first 2 albums were simply off the hook. However she sold out and started singing pop crap like girlfriend. Hope she comes back to her senses soon.
