RomanceNigerian Women Do Not Know How To Seduce Men by sevule(op): 4:40pm On Nov 09, 2010
Before you go all out to bash me think about it seriously.
A lot of Nigerian women look drop dead gorgeous before marriage and crap after marriage.
The sexy jeans and dresses are dropped in the dustbin and out comes the
wrappers and other highly unattractive wears. It doesn't even end there.
Droopy boobs, poor dress sense, forever tired, lacking in bedroom initiative, always nagging,
weight piles on, exercise becomes a myth and your wonder why your husband does not find you
attractive like duh,
Truth be told, when you see some Nigerian women you'd rather seduce your goat . . .
PoliticsHouse Of Reps To Decide Nigeria's Next President, Governors And Senators by sevule(op): 4:05pm On Nov 09, 2010
House Of Reps to decide Nigeria's next President, Governors and Senators

In what has to be the most shameful and self serving parody of the failed
institution we call "Democracy",the House of Reps has surreptitiously
inserted an amendment into the Electoral Act that guarantees that all
serving senators and representatives would gain automatic membership
of ALL current parties NEC (their decision making bodies).
What this means in essence is that the House of Reps would form the
largest bloc in a party like PDP and would be able to take decisions
as to who emerges as Presidential, Gubernatorial and Senatorial candidates
WITHOUT INPUT from other NEC members.
This is a very disturbing trend and should be resisted in its entirety by
all Nigerians. If this amendment is allowed to become law, the present crop
of avaricious senators and representatives would remain in the senate till
they die as they would always ensure that they give themselves automatic
tickets for all elections. In addition they would become the most powerful
individuals in Nigeria as teh president and governors would be unable to
check their excesses for fear of punitive action meted out against them in
the form of dismissal from the party, lack of support for a second ticket
among other options.

Controversial Electoral Act Amendment for Second Reading Today
From Onwuka Nzeshi in Abuja, 11.08.2010

The controversial bill for amendment of the 2010 Electoral Act has been slated for second reading today, THISDAY learnt last night.
If it eventually succeeds and is passed into law, members of the National Assembly will become automatic members of their respective parties' highest decision-making body, the National Executive Council (NEC).

By implication, the House of Representatives will become the largest voting bloc in the NEC because of their sheer number.
The amendment, which has been shrouded in secrecy since last week, was flagged off last Thursday when the bill was read for the first time on the floor of the House and immediately pencilled down for second reading at the next legislative day.
The new bill sponsored by Hon. Cyril Maduabum (PDP Anambra) and Hon. Igo Aguma (PDP Rivers) proposed for amendments  Section 87(4) of the principal Act by inserting immediately after clause 11, a new subsection.

The new insertions state as follows: “Every political party in Nigeria shall establish in its constitution a National Executive Committee (NEC), which shall be the highest decision-making body of the political party. The membership of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of a political party shall be as followssadi) the president and the former president who are members of the party; (ii) The vice-president and former vice-presidents who are members of the party; (iii) governors who are members of the party; (iv) members of the National Assembly who are members of the party; (v) former presiding officers of the National Assembly who are members of the party; (vi) chairman and secretary  of the Board of Trustees, where applicable; (vii) former national chairmen; (viii) former chairmen, Board of Trustees; (ix) state chairmen of the party; (x) zonal chairmen of the party where applicable and (xi) national officers of the party.”

Curiously, however, the bill also states that a quorum for meeting of the NEC of a political party shall be one half of its total membership while all NEC decisions on electoral matters require two-thirds of its quorum.
If this sails through, the House members alone could form the quorum and take decisions.
Effectively, the 262 PDP members of the House of Representatives will outnumber all other blocs in the party, with Senators (95) coming a distant second, followed by state party executives (84) and governors (28).

In its explanatory note, the sponsors of the bill claimed that the essence of seeking a fresh amendment to the Electoral Act 2010 was simply to include the timeframe for the conduct of general election in Nigeria as a result of the amendment to the 1999 Constitution and to strengthen the internal democratic practice of political parties.
THISDAY checks revealed that the lawmakers felt that over the past 10 years of the country’s democracy, they had been at the receiving end of the political horse trading between the Presidency and the state governors and now want to break the jinx.

The calculation is that whereas the president and governors usually have a retinue of aides and appointees to rely on for votes during party primaries, members of the National Assembly have always been left in the lurch, a situation they claim has been responsible for the low return rate or high turnover of legislators at the end of every election.
Some members also expressed the desire to checkmate the "overbearing influence" of state governors in the running of political parties and have a voice in the final choice of candidates to fly the parties’ banners during elections.

One of the proponents of the bill told THISDAY that the idea of making lawmakers members of NEC of their parties was not entirely new except that it was before now the internal rule of some political parties.
According to the lawmaker, the new drive was not about the immediate gain of securing an automatic ticket but a longer gain of promoting participatory democracy and reducing the influence of party godfathers.

@poster  There is one mistake people make and that is thinking that they can change people. This guy WOULD NEVER change!!(except God above changes him) and from the sound of things it can only get worse. So your option is simple, if you can live with his character (and the possibility that he may become abusive in future) then go ahead but if not, then for your sake kindly drop him like he is hot else your next posting would go thus "My Husband Sent me to hospital because I greeted his friend "

nikkykay:
yes there is difference  btw big and fat.To be fat means to have fats in the body while being big is have a big bone structure and some flesh to cover up.You cant really knw if somebody will be fat or not but u will knw if somebody is going to be big cos the structure is there already.
-Big pple are athletic which fat pple are not
-Big pple are firm and strong while fat pple are not
-big pple are smart while fat pple are not
-Some pple are fat and they try to reduce by burning the fat but if they cant continue with the methos, the fat comes back.Meanwhile if a big person tries to reduce, all u see after is long neck and bones.
Look around you and observe the difference
@ nikkykayThis a pretty dumb ,unintelligent and myopic statement that could only be posted by a very vain person. WHat the heck do you mean by fat people are not smart. Didn't they teach you in school that intelligence isbnot correlated to weight?
@poster Your boyfriend is right to express his fears. He is probably thinking that if you look like this now then you would blow up 5 years down the line. And as we know Nigerian women are not really crazy about exercising. SO if you are serious, I suggest you forget the fact that you look luscious now and start exercising and let your boyfriend know that you are exercising. He would then know that you are serious about keeping in shape.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Close To Population Disaster – British Council Raises Alarm by sevule(m): 12:29pm On Sep 06, 2010
@ Sagamite: Your logic is sound and flawless, the only problem is that you are trying to convince people that have preconceived notions of Nigeria in their heads and have no interest in expanding their rather myopic and antiquated viewpoint.
@ Honeric01 et al: The statistics say 70% of Nigerians LIVE UNDER $1 a day not EARN a dollar a day. We all agree that the ratio of income earners to dependents in Nigeria is very high. So if as a civil servant I am earning 30k a month and I have a family of 6 to feed, lets do some simple maths.
Monthly income = 30,000
Daily income = 1,000
Family size = 7
Amount spent PER HEAD = 1000/7 = =N=142.8 (less than a dollar a day)
Assumptions: 1)Above mentioned civil servant SPENDS ALL his salary without having a single kobo as savings.
2)The civil servant HAS NO OTHER dependents(which is impossible in present day Nigeria).
Tkb made a very valid point of people having more than one income stream but when we compare the income of average Nigerians with the sheer number of dependents (let us not forget that a good percentage of Nigerians are polygamous) with the multiple income streams we would still arrive at the sad fact that almost 70%(give or take) of Nigerians live in poverty. Let us stop blaming others for our problems and realize that we have a FUNDAMENTAL problem with our burgeoning population vis a vis our current resources (not anticipated or untapped resources which wishful thinkers in this forum have been drumming into our ears ad nauseum )

PoliticsRe: Nigeria Close To Population Disaster – British Council Raises Alarm by sevule(m): 3:20pm On Sep 03, 2010
Thank you Sagamite for exposing the beautiful rubbish that Ikegawo wrote. Why do we have to argue on the basis of sentiments instead of facts? When would we as  nigerians see that we have a serious problem and start addressing the problem instead of waiting for the white man to identify and solve our problems for us? Are we not ashamed that we have a government that has no think tank or research institute, rather the Brits have to be the ones to tell us that our population is spiralling out of control? The issuer here is SUSTAINABLE population not just population increase. AT least the Brits have an idea of the maximum level their population would be to stretch their resources uncomfortably whereas we are not even sure of oyr population figure as most of the states keep manipulating census figures in order to effectively position themselves for a greater chunk of the national cake. Truth be told but all those that sided with Ikegawo are either misinformed or willfully blind. let us look at the figures
1) Only 10% of students that write JAMB enter our tertiary institutions.
2) 70%(most likely more) of Nigerians live with a dollar a day.
3) 40 % of Nigerians have access to potable water
4) 1.8 million Nigerians have access to LIMITED health care

What do these figures show? It simply shows that our facilities are dangerously close to stretching point, hence imagine the effect of unchecked population growth on these facilities. Can you actually remember the last time a teaching hospital or Federal University was built?? That is one aspect of the study. Another aspect is the danger of an ever increasing population of unemployed youths. Unemployment levels in Nigeria is at an all time high and our government rather than address this would rather buy 3 more private jets. And for those people that argue that we have vast undeveloped natural resources let me ask you a question. What percentage of the human brain is actually used? The answer is 10%. Most people die without tapping into the vast potential of their brain ditto Nigeria. If care is not taken we would still be talking about vast untapped natural resources 100 years from now so let us not console ourselves with that worn out cliche.I could go on and on but time is not on my side.

@notsure  You are setting yourself up to be scammed again. Or why would you be advertising the fact that you are successful and own a house? There is such a thing as too much information and you are giving way too much information about yourself. As for the "reformed" scam artist my advice is this, since you have obviously forgiven him cut your losses and sever ALL form of contact with him.He may be "reformed" but why go through all that again? Forget the whole Dubai thing and live your life to the full.

RomanceRe: Help! I Met A Vegitable Man by sevule(m): 11:46am On Jul 14, 2010
@lovebug You have got to give him the "I like you but I just want to be friends" line. Please I beg you not to refer to his inadequacies directly as we men have very fragile egos when it comes to our performance in bed and the dude would probably hate you for life. But I smell a rat here cos it seems like you want to eat your cake and have it at the same time. Since the "veggie" is rich, you still want him, but girlfriend that is not gonna work. SO give him the friend line and get it over with.

MaMoyo:
I've encountered a situation similar to yours OP. In my case I agreed to see the guy again because I could not believe what had happened the first time. The second time was even worse. The moment I touched the little worm the guy exploded. After the second encounter I just told him I didn’t think we were compatible. I couldn't bring myself to tell him the truth and I figured that there is no way he didn't know he had a problem (the guy was 35). About a year later I heard he got married to a very religious girl whom I can guarantee did not participate in premarital relations. I feel sorry for the girl, but then again since she has never experienced it before she may think that's how men are supposed to perform in the sack  undecided
@MaMovo Babe you wicked sha. See wetin you don reduce every man's pride and joy to - a mere little worm. Kai if na me, ground for don open up swallow me tay tay

But come to think of it, a lot of ladies have been used and dumped by other men, so does that mean that these ladies would not get married or is this is a case of ignorance is bliss? @poster How close is your friend to his friend that 'used' the lady? What is his ego like? If he is pretty close to the guy and has a frail ego then the answer is a definite NO but if they are not that close, then the ball is in his court. But whatever he does decide to do, He should thread softly and slowly with this new catch and not just be tripping about her "wifely qualities"

1) Tell her without mincing words never to come to your house again.
2) Anytime she comes, be an absolute jerk. Call non existent girlfriends and tell them how much you love them, ignore her deliberately, tell her that you are busy, call your male friends up to visit you at that particular time, tel her you are tired. By now then would have gotten the picture.
