I flight is scheduled to arrive JFK 9 days into the 30 days that one can enter us. I intend spending a week in NYC then go to Missouri two weeks prior to the school resumption. So that is 9 + 7+ 14= 30days.

Is this okay pls?

I intend to also buy a ticket probably next week or two weeks time that would be taking me out of NYC to Missouri but the departure date would be a week after I arrived i.e let's say I arrive JFK July 29 the departure date from LGA to STL in Missouri would be 5th of August.

The ticket would be with me from Nigeria. Is this realistic please?
Yes it's realistic and possible, you have no reason to worry if this is your plan.

Please house in filling us visiting visa application, is it B1/B2 ( business / tourist) or B2(business / medical)
Then if my cousins from maternal side is inviting me , what do I feel, relatives or other relative.
Thanks
Are you going for Conference or Medical tourism?

I think they should be other relatives.

you can only enter the states from 30 days to date of resumption on the i20, mind you, people still advise that you don't leave as early as the first few days in your 30 days counting. It's better you show enough evidence of genuine studentship and not giving the immigration officer a doubt of your genuineness.
I don't think there will be problem but to be honest it's better to play safe just like you've suggested.

What if school starts in August or September or in 5 weeks time?

He should probably mention at PoE the date he intends to be in school, which explains the NY staycation.

Things to do in NY in addition to Seyewest comments.

Van Gogh’s Starry Night painting is at the MOMA (The Museum of Modern Art). You can get in free from 4.30-8pm on Fridays.

Biking around Central Park (one of the most famous places in New York) and then over the Brooklyn Bridge from Brooklyn to Manhattan are other top things to do in NYC.

You can hire bikes there and some online sites.
I think the bolded is right...all you need to do is explain why you're in New York.

Thanks Boss I will ask on the student forum. God bless you. I enjoyed the pics you posted of your emirate flight from dubai to US. It was cool.

Yes sir, thank you sir. I don't mind taking a flight from LGA to STL but that would be few days after I arrive JFK not the same day.
That is even better but they may ask you for evidence of your accommodation in New York.

Hello house. . Good day to you all. I appreciate the work you are doing from 2017.
This is my first time travelling
Am an F1 visa student whose school is in Missouri. I have few questions to ask pls

1. My school is in Missouri but I already booked a flight to JFK from Lagos. Hope it wnt cause an issue, flights to JFK(215k airmaroc) were cheaper than flights to STL in missouri( about 600k on delta). I also intend to stay in New York for a few days with a mentor before going to missouri.

2. Also I know have already booked the airmaroc flight but is their services okay or at least moderate?

3. What is the range of amt of money I can bring in as a student .. am thinking of holding around 1k to 1.5k

4. Please what's the cheapest way to get to Missouri from newyork? Bus, flight, or train?

5. Any suggestion of a nice place to visit while in new your for a few days. .. my birthday would be two days after arrival

6. Also what are the likely questions I could be asked at the POE and should I bring a bank statement along. ?

Thanks sirs/ma's
1) Flying to New York instead of St Louis won't be an issue at all, Flight from LGA Airport to St Lousi is around N45K to N50k ( I can get it for you), bus is 14 hrs which to me is not advisable.

2) To be honest, Royal Air Maroc is moderate but don't expect out of the world service and I hope your stop over is less than 6 hours?

3) As much as you can bring but $1.5K is just not enough unless your sponsor is based in U.S (Hope you mentor migrated to U.S legally if not please don't include him in any discussion at POE)

4) You will find all likely question on this forum and visit the student forum on nairaland as well, please go with your bank statement just in case.

5) You can visit the Brooklyn bridge, Manhattan, Times Square, Statute of Liberty and lots more.

Then for those trying to ridicule what has been put into this thread by contributors, kindly desist from such. It has helped several of us, we too are helping in our own little ways, we are not laying claim to a "know it all" personality, but then we have some understanding and invaluable ideas, you can't take that away from us. We have survived several "Tsunamis" out here, and we will keep doing so....

In solidarity with my comrade, he has been a whole lot of blessing to this thread, I will say in a very assertive tone, unequivocally, "SEYEWEST you are the man! Keep it going bro".
Bro you know, you're the spine of this thread... Kudos

So many issues that needs attention have been up here the past couple of pages, I'm in fact outpaced right now, can't even follow, playing catch-up seriously. One however is standing out, we are deviating, veering off course per the essence of this thread seriously, urgent attention need! We've got to be reminded quickly; this is a US VISIT VISA Thread!!! Not a "Japa" strategy sizing thread, neither an how to go about AOS thread, nor a how to survive the US as an illegal immigrant thread please. Let's be guided please

Whoever is interested in those can open a thread to that effect instead of hiding them inside this thread. Make una carry those matters and discussions go somewhere else abeg!
Thank you and please remind them that this is NOT a U.S BIRTHING THREAD.

You should know this is not Twood (Probably a friend or family using his moniker) his use of word, arrangement of word and most importantly Twood composition is always less than 2 lines... between the real Twood and Afonjaboston, we will one day know what is going on.

I understand your point. I don't want to doubt that 4K payment for birthing and the fact that she got visa renewed afterwards since I wasn’t there so I am not even going to comment on that. My problem with the post is that it is making that as a standard for birthing and visa renewal while tryna rubbish some good works here. We all know 4K is not the standard, if you got it that low, we thank God for journey mercies, drop your testimony and go home in peace!
If it's true then she's truly lucky and I doubt she will get something like that again.

Right!

However, most women who have found themselves needing to pay the discounted birthing fees for birthing in the US tends to blame it on the hospitals that are offering them the discounts bills because they're paying in total cash.

So at times , the blame also has to go on the hospitals too.
You mean Doctors offering ridiculous discount to patient and using hospital equipment for peanuts because of connection/deal with hospital management?

Nobody offended the participant, many explained why they believe the visa was denied, including me. The participant offended herself just because she did NOT like the answers.
To be honest, I'm against digging up her ''Fertility issues'' on this forum, it's so wrong.

There are exceptions to every rule. Yours was different but how many people can we count to be this lucky and you know we can’t use exception as a standard. My point is , I was in that embassy in April and I saw how peeps who went for birthing were denied cos of the payment. I saw one family who was asked to go get their complete documents and they will make a decision when the VO queried the amount. They said they paid much more and her hubby was ransacking their transparent folder looking for a receipt or document. So this payment thing get as e dey do them for body. Are they just angry that US gives this opportunity of automatic citizenship and they want to take it away with the other hand by now looking for bills above 10k dols or what?
I don't get why she's angry and mad at the forum. This forum has done far more good to a lot of people, you can't trash 5-6 yrs of knowledge because someone offended someone on this forum, we're all adult and normally I will keep quiet but thrashing our hard work is something I will not take, most time the advice on this forum is based on current trend and right now, birthing in U.S is dangerous and if you plan to do discounted birthing, you may end up not getting your visa renewed.
This forum is not the official U.S Embassy Nairaland forum this is clear before getting on the forum so why not go to the U.S Embassy forum instead of this forum. None of us worked with U.S Embassy but with the little we know, I believe we've changed a lot of life for better.

If as at today I'm not pregnant, and I attend a visa interview today and a B1/B2 Visa is issued me for the purpose of visiting family and I use it for that purpose and come back to Naija and maybe even use same visa by next year Easter (or not), then I get pregnant in a year from now sir, are you saying I cannot use that visa for birthing in the US say in 2021 all things being equal?

Such usage I believe is in order and principally fall within the purview of the CBP to handle and have it noted in the system for tomorrow's use and consultation by whomever has reason to. There's yet no where it is stated as a policy that a B1/B2 Visa throughout its validity period can only cover for the exact purpose it was issued, I haven't seen.

As long as I first use it for the purpose it was issued, I can go back and use it for other purposes it covers, e.g to attend a conference, a business meeting, to birth, etc without worries. Unless I was asked during the interview if I will birth with the visa and I said NO or maybe I was expressly told/warned not to use it for birthing, that is only when I won't dare, because clearly the implications are grave!
You're right but the problem is that we(Nigerians) can never be right in the eyes of the VOs.

What do you do for a living? because how can you stay away from your work for 6 weeks? this is one of the question you maybe asked at the POE and is this the first time you're traveling?

I have a valid B1/B2 visa and i very very recently found out that I'm pregnant again huh embarassed (1 year and 1 month after my current visa was issued).

Can i attempt to use the visa for birth tourism or should i just stay here and give birth jeje? And i didn't plan to travel at all this year oh!

However, If i travel with the visa and declare at the POE that I'm there to have my baby and ready to pay all my bills and everything, will they cancel my visa and chase me back home?

What do you guys advice?
