You're part of the reason why this country is in such a mess, if you want to meet your U.S Citizen, both of you can meet in Dubai or where easy to meet and you can shop in Dubai. One more thing, no one on this forum will help you. |

OmoBendel24: Sounds plausible. Or it was her husband that probably applied before and was refused, and they are now getting things mixed up therefrom.... Exactly. |

OmoBendel24: She can change whatever by filling another form and updating her profile with the new form's number, yes.... But that they asked for her husband's earning can not be correct, except we are not talking of a DS160 form here? Well, maybe there's a new update on the form sha, lately.... You know there's nothing like that in the form, the question was asked specifically during the previous interview and I'm guessing the form was filled by agent, reason they thought the question was in the form. |

sirmel: No need for argument on the duration of the dropbox visa renewal. At this moment things are different. Your brothers case must be 1 in 50. I know people with same issue of 6 to 8 weeks. The DHL staff told me on the day of submission I should have in mind a maximum of 6 weeks. Then yesterday i was told its now 6 to 8 weeks. Yes I have tracked it. It was last updated on 19th March and has been giving me same message since then. Clearly its not ready. Why will I argue about duration? |

sirmel: I submitted on the 18th of March 2019 for renewal. Today is 09 May 2019 and I haven't got my paspport back, I went to DHL yesterday and was told it now takes 6 to 8 weeks, that i should wait for a notification. Did you tracked it through the Ceac site? and it does not take 6-8 weeks it all depend on each individual case, my big bro dropbox I did 3 weeks ago was issued on monday last week (3 weeks duration) |

nuga16: Morning, my brother is at d us(citizen), my Mum(68 years) wants to visit him and I want to apply for her. We want to make use of the option “Travel companion”. I applied personally like 2yrs ago but was denied, am married with 2 kids and have a business here in Nigeria with Dubai travel experience. The things that have changed about me are(1) My business has expanded and (2) I now have 3 kids, (3) traveled to Saudi I have another brother that works with FG with Dubai travel experience, he has applied thrice (1) 3 years ago, (2)9months ago (3) 6months ago with his family(wife and 3kids) but was denied all throuugh. He just arrived from Saudi Arabia 2weeks ago which is the only thing that has changed about him . My questions are : (1) Can we use the “Travel companion” option. (2) who has d best chance to apply with Mum.
Thanks What is travel companion? Please don't spoil mama chance... let her apply alone and she does not need any companion to travel anyway, I trust the U.S Embassy to give mama visa and refuse the companion, you will only be issue visa on your own ''ties'' and info. Good luck |

mfonox: Good day house. Please I have some questions. I applied for us visa renewal via Dropbox in Lagos since on the 29th of March. No update on my appointment schedule page, when I track with my passport number it says no update also. Is this normal? My friend said she got hers in less than a week in Abuja. This is my first time using Dropbox. What do I need to do? Or should I just wait? Thank you Track your application using ceac.state.gov site. |

I see no issue at all given the fact that, you've visited U.S before and did not overstay, make sure you get a letter from your office stating you have 6 weeks free and that you will be in U.S for those duration. Good luck. |

How selfish You're right but my problem is with random people criticizing this body of work, this is 4-6 yrs of pure treasure.... if you have a very good ''ties'' you won't even be bothered about U.S Visa because ''options plenty''. I'm all about constructive criticism but from random person that hardly contribute to this forum, that I won't take. I've stopped answering repetitive questions i.e I need earlier date, how do I go about applying for US visa, I have a letter of invitation, I should get the visa etc. most of this questions can be answered easily. |

OmoBendel24: One thing I know, in the midst of us saying we don’t know what your US B1/B2 visa acquisition chances are and that it is not a chance game, is that, in every 10 refusal-bound profile I see here, I can boldly hazard a guess on them and get as much as 9 right. It is only good profiles I may not be bold to say WILL GET A VISA. But a bad profile? I will talk! Most of us can smell it from miles away, how then will it get past the VO? You will now come back here with your bad profile and be playing victim when all you do is try-your-luck, hoping against hope, of course it will only take a miracle. And if the miracle doesn’t happen, stop attempting to do our heads in, please, we know more than that....
I’m planning/trying to renew a particular country’s visa for myself right now, despite all my travels (to both the said country and other better ranked countries) and visas (expired and valid), all the advantages going for me and all my knowledge, I’m holding off because I see a financial shortcoming somewhere (different embassies different approach), I’m not willing to apply leaving any ground to chance. Then someone will now want to spew gibberish at me because I’m lending a helping hand but being blunt? No wahala, we are here.... Bro you get time.... @LadyG approach is what I admire the most, she's on observation mode now and I realized it's better to keep quiet and maintain good distance on this forum. |

Sasorah: True, sometimes the information here can mislead people a also discourage them, sometimes i wonder if they work in the embassy, there's one that always talk about traveling to different countries outside Africa. So that means if you have no travel history then no visa for you lol. Everyone has different purpose for traveling so i hope no one will get a panic attack because of what some nairalanders say. Good luck to everyone who applied for a visa. Be confident and make your purpose of traveling as clear as possible (except you intend to overstay) thank you Maybe we should shutdown the forum since it's misleading. |

MrTraxSta: Hello guys. Wish I had found this thread before. So much good advice.
Ok. So I am a Nigerian citizen and have had a US Visa since I was 17. I am 34 now and married with a child. I always do dropbox renewal. My wife has a virgin passport and my child is just 2.
Which options do you think are best? I donot like 5 and 6 at all. Thanks in advance. If I was in your position I won't take any of the following and my reason for this, is listed below; 1) If you re-apply with your family, you may not be issued another visa (because you're applying with your ''ties'') 2) I'm okay with you doing dropbox renewal on your own 3) I believe for you to convince the next V.O you or your wife (Including the child) must go for vacation or visit a Western Country in Europe, Australia, Canada, South Korea and Japan and your wife must reapply for U.S visa while the visit visa for vacation is still valid or has expired within 6 months 4) Your wife can actually applies for training abroad through her work place (That means you will both apply for your kid when she returns) 5) You can actually follow your wife to the embassy but I think it will show desperation on your part 6) Have you traveled to another country apart from U.S in last 5 yrs? 7) What is your wife travel history Don't waste your time going to South Africa, Dubai, Ghana, Kenya and India... you need a quality destination with proper visa restricting processes. Good luck. |

Teewhy29: Hello everyone,
I applied for dropbox earlier this month. I have tried to track my passport on the cgi website but the status has changed from 'your passport is with the consulate' to 'document delivery information'. I try to click on the tab but it does not open. I also tried to check on ustraveldocs website and that has also changed from 'your passport is with the consulate' to 'There is no status update available for the passport number submitted'. I have not received any email or any other communication regarding my application.
What does this mean? How do i know for sure where my passport is? there's no difference between cgi website and ustraveldocs website... track your application through CEAC website to know the true position of your application. |

awumen: @kelEMI, they need to fill ds-160 for each person, going with kids is a choice, invite can be sent to cover everyone but my concern is how that friend made it to the U.S, another concern is the travel history of your friend and if the whole family has ever traveled together?lastly tell your friend NOT to patronise any agent, las las come back here we will assist to the best our knowledge but being honest during the whole process Is key,not only for today but for future application I believe it's actually @kelEmi in need of help not any friend but all the same they should follow your advice. |
