Permit me house to add to the growing debate surrounding this US visa issue.

The fact is that we Nigerians do not like people telling us the truth. Sincerely, I also battle at times with the truth. However, the truth is that Nigerians are abusers of systems. Everywhere you interact with some Nigerians in the “abroad”, you find out that they have thrived on abuse of the system – cutting corners, gaming the system, employing theatrics etc. The situation is even compounded in religious centres! However, we are mostly very short-sighted people who assume that the white-man is a fool. Unbeknown to us, these guys have a system in place that works best with information. During such lengthy periods when we embarrass ourselves and abuse the system, these guys are gathering sufficient data about us, our personality and modus operandi to enable them evolve a robust approach that can keep us firmly in check. This data is also useful in assisting them draft related policies on funding/assistance/aids, conflict resolution and rules of engagement

See, time for travel will come. It may take time, but if we continue with our current attitude, things go spoil so tey e go hard to repair. The hustle is real, I know, but we are the very cause of the current problems. If we are not careful, our case go be like China where their citizens are always put on administrative processing that can take as long as 60 days! My Chinese colleagues at work are not finding this funny.

When next people come online and talk about how they gamed the system in the abroad and you support them or rationalise their actions, just remember that the consequences are simply front-loaded and will be dire. Next time call them out. Embarrass them, shame them. You don’t have to report them but let them know that they are a SHAME and avoid them. If we don’t start calling out these disgraceful humans spoiling our reputation in the abroad, they will continue to make travel possibilities difficult for you and I.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH ...You failed to mentioned the effect on the coming generations? but one thing I will argue against is the travel budget, which you can actual travel with less budget (I can plan a trip for 600k with flight and hotel included to U.S) which is exactly what I do for alot of people(sorry for the advert grin)

But most of the conference are being sponsored by employers or who is in best position to take responsibility of attending a conference.
Please shed more light on this.
Thanks.
The Conference must make sense and your company must have been sending you on such conference to another country.

As far as the VO was concerned, your sister was denied for good reason. You may disagree with his/her opinion.

You should realize that the VOs see thousands of people with a similar profile as your sister every day. Most likely do not return after the wedding/graduation/conferences they go to attend. Your sister fits the profile of most at risk group - young, not working, only a student, no serious ties. The other problem... how did you come to stay in the US? Did you also obtain a visiting visa and stay back? Lots of reasons for a denial.
Correct.....

Hello house. I went for my visa interview today but was denied again. I was also denied last year
Here's the transcript;
Vo: passport
Vo: why are you going to the us
Me: to attend a conference and expo organized by an association i belong to, it's called ABCD. As i was trying give the full meaning of ABCD, she cuts in?
Vo: where's the venue of the conference
Me: cleveland ohio
Vo: who's paying for the conference
Me: my employers
Vo: have you been out of your country before
Me: was in ghana with my wife during our honey moon, but thats been a while. It's on my expired passport wanted to show her, but she cuts in and said i shouldn't worry.
Vo: how long will you be staying in the us
Me: seven days
Vo:Are you married
Me: Yes
Vo: how many kids
Me: two
Vo: kept on typing and finally handed over the yellow paper. She said im not eligible for visa at this time, that i should try again later

From what i saw today, they denied 90-95% of the people that had the 10.30-12.30 appointment today.
I feel it was strongly based on no previous travel history.
Last year i was nervous and wasn't fully prepared. But this time i was so confident and ready for them. They didn't even ask why i was going for the conference or what the association does or what i or my employers stand to gain.

.... Pros in the house, E bawa da si
There's nothing to ''Da si'' what has changed since your first application? None and you think the Conference will help? it won't... please do the needful to get atleast 40% chance.

Now that you mentioned that, what's stopping her from explaining why she was sent abroad that duration to the V.O? 80% of the work is during the interview.

You don't need to escape, you can leave crossing the border, you can get your passport. Try to escape from North Korea, there it sucks. Still Nigeria makes hard financial life for Nigerians but you are free to go. Many countries are the same difficult, Nigeria is not the best but not the worse. Freedom to cross the border even walking is priceless.

Immigrants, both legal and illegal, are actually net "inputers" into the US economy, not net takers (as the Trump administration found out). And they may not have skills but they perform the low wage jobs that Americans are no longer interested in performing, that allow the costs of goods and services provided within the country to remain low. That is the value of "illegal" immigrants bring to the table. Ain't no American soul gonna bust his/her but to earn $4 a day to pick fruit in the hot sun for 12 hours a day with no health insurance. But you and I know that doing work, even illegally in the US can put you in a better financial position than working day in and day out for employers in this country.

Still. DO NOT BE AN ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT.
At the end of the day you're making a case for illegal immigrant.

Sincerely, we need to take a chill pill as a people and get to understand that there is life outside "The USA". I understand the desperation to go see the abroad and all, but hey, it shouldn't come at such high costs like is being displayed here. Lies, deceit, fake documents etc. are too high a cost.

I'm supposed to be in Germany this week to give an expert submission at a workshop, all expenses paid by the organisers, but cant make it because it takes 8 days now to process Germany's Visa (Schengen) for Nigerians in London and I received my invite letter really late.

I simply told the organisers that I would deliver my presentation and take questions via teleconference. They insisted I submit my Visa application while they communicate for urgency and all that, but I simply said No. Why the desperation? I was there late last year and so no rush. When next you require my submissions, send the invite in time.

Let's sit down and build capacity/reputation back home. I built one that's why I can travel and have those expenses sponsored. These embassies shouldn't be feeding fat on our ignorance and desperation. They can see it on our faces when we apply.
Nice one and respect to you.

You’re 19, no job, still a student. You’ve shown that you’re desperate to go to the west - 2 Canada visa denials and 1 UK visa denial already. You can understand why the visa officer is likely to be suspicious that you won’t return. Forget about traveling for now, relax, finish school, get a job... establish ties in your home country, then try again.
He won't want that...

Good morning, I have spent time reading the past threads and I'll need some advice about the USA application. I'm 19years old in my final year in the university I applied for student Visa in 2017 to Canada twice and I was refused also applied for visit visa in the UK once and was also denied in 2017. Now the question is can I apply for USA Visa being in my final year and with the history of my refusals and I have no travel historyhuh
Why is it hard for you to get travel history? Use the money you planned to use to travel to UK, Canada and US to see other places oooh... You want to migrate illegal to US,Canada or UK?

Good afternoon house,
I am a silent follower of this thread, although I joined on this part4,
I have appointment date already,
Just need some clarification, my invitations letter From a cousin says issue B2 tourist (while my DS 160 carry B1/B2 same as Visa fee receipt)
Just wanna be sure if I am on track,
Also what’s my chance ,my monthly income state 330k and 2 years experience with present company.
@seyewest kudos to your input to the thread so far.
Your letter of invitation does not carry any weight.
If you're going for Conference/training/seminar etc it should be b1
If it's for tourist, visiting and vacation it should be b1/b2
If it's for medical tourism then it will be B2

Oakbend rates are discounted, they have in fact been blacklisted like some other facilities too in this light. Dr F., Dr. D, Dr. Z oh, all na yawa now....

You didn’t declare pregnancy/childbirthing plan, neither did you write anywhere that you wrote the now worthless “Notification of Change of Intent Letter” to them (not like it would have meant anything in your case too), even though you have still not answered directly, one can string it together from your posts so far that you used the visa to birth on your first trip to the US after its issuance, and that is almost not forgivable by them. They may have soft-pedalled if only your bills paid were on the high side maybe. Now you paid low....

Getting that visa again will take much suffering if at all they will later issue you one. You will have to let them be for a couple of years, holiday to other quality places, per adventure some miracle will happen for you with them some time in the future. Renewal hope is almost slimmer than slim for now! How long did you even stay there for the birthing if I may ask?

Meanwhile you said in your initial post that you told the VO you had complications and had to stay back in the US to birth there. Was the complication from Nigeria or happened there in the US? Wondering now if you actually even informed the CBP of your birthing plans like you are almost making us believe here. You told them one thing, and you are telling the VO another or what? You are quite economical with the truth here sha.... Just know however that your transcript for the visa approval, the CBP, and now the visa refusal are well documented by them - all the parties involved so far - and open to both VOs world over and CBP everywhere with just a click.
She won't get U.S Visa again until she settle her bills (clear everything) and stay away from U.S visa application for at least 2 yrs.

True.... Just didn’t want to comment on his case before, because I need a lot of calm to do so. How can you just open your eyes and lead your family into this? You want to hide behind them to cover yourself? The moment you did that 5 months before coming back home, that is when too you should have said goodbye to applying together with them for renewal, because whatever for any reason goes wrong with yours will very likely and invariably rub-off on theirs. There are things I don’t joke with once it comes to my family, I rather be the “sacrificial lamb” for them.

Adopt the solution given by the above poster, don’t ever let that thought of applying with them come to your mind again, not to even talk of actualising such thought, please!

Cc: Charen

NB// It is you that should reapply last, do everything to make your family happy irrespective of being sole sponsor/bread winner. I really feel like saying more, vexed, but will let go. Hopefully, this situation is salvaged if at all still slimly possible
Same here and I can't even bring myself to comment on his predicament, I'm very sure his wife won't take it easy with him.

Hello my people. A US citizen wanna help me to come to the US but talked bout me needing to find a love and get my K-1 visa but seems the she doesn't know much about the whole processes involved in getting the Visa. I read on a travel site that two lovers must met in person with proofs prior to application for the visa and about $2100 is involved as a fees for filling for petition, visa and etc. Can there be a legal n more smoother way of getting to the US? I'm a first year university student with no strong ties to Nigeria except my admission/schooling, and I'm thinking if it's possible to get a visiting visa when my school's on vacation, get there, and come back. If found a love I may immigrate through the K-1 visa route before or after I finish my studies here. I want to know my chances of getting the visiting visa as I'm a student(unskilled) with empty bank account but my US benefactor is willing to help. Will she be permitted to sponsor my visiting visa and bear all the costs of me staying for a month or two if on a visit visa? And I will appreciate if anyone can suggest any other easy n legal way of getting to the US as a nonimmigrant or immigrant. Thanks.
