I agree with FemiATL. Composure matters a lot. You need to know when to smile, laugh and when not to. Short precise answers to their questions helps them realise you don't have time for nonsense. The last time I travelled Lagos- Heathrow, after my hand luggage was checked, this immigration officer excused my aside, asked to see my passport, asked me my name, what job I did, where I lived. I just told him with a straight face, no smiling, no fidgeting, no patronising comments etc. He then said something about if he would find anything undeclared on me if he took me to a room to search. I just said, he wouldnt find anything. After perusing the passport to his satisfaction, he handed it back to me. I said a thank you and left him standing there. Then it was the turn of Virgin Atlantic attendants to ask me to 'drop something, auntie'. I did feel very embarrased FOR THEM but all I did was just smile at them. I wasn't going to encourage them by giving them 'something'. |

I don't believe this! What are those kids going to do with the Laptops? More SCAM EMAILS? Most of them can't afford school, food or accomodation! What about provision of amenities for the people? Most villages do not have good roads or electricity at all? Who are this guy's advisers? Can someone tell me who this guy is? Was he the same guy who was a commisioner in Ondo State? |
Nigerian woman sentenced to 2 years in jail in the UK. She smuggled a child into the UK after fraudulently securing a visa for the child at the British High Commission in Abuja. She then went straight from Heathrow Airport to her local council housing department to get a Council flat as she could claim that benefit if she has a child. The woman, Peace Sandberg, has dual nationality, Swedish and Nigerian. The child is to being put into care and will be living in the UK. Full story at http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7404090.stm |
Being here on nairaland and reading what people's opinions are on matters affecting us all makes me realise that there is hope for Nigeria. Where else can you find these many intelligent Nigerians? God bless Nairaland! God bless Nigeria! |
@Demsy Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you. I was only trying to help as that was what you asked for. Some of us can give our word and stand by it. Some of us are just plain crooks. Good luck with your search. |
@Demsy Can you send me the website address of your client (privately if possible). I might be able to make some recommendations. I will not contact your client. If your clients website meets the necessary requirements, your client will need to get involved in the stages of the arrangement. |

@OLDIE ", And it has got nothing to do with God, satan or some lecturers!" I disagree with you on the line above. In quite a few number of Universities in Nigeria, your grades at the end of the day depend on your Lecturer(s). I had a first hand experience while at Uni. The school I finished from is notorious for Lecturers that fail you if you don not buy their Textbooks( Handouts). In my final year, I was one of the a victims of a fraudulent Course Rep who did not remit all the monies he collected for the text books to this particular Lecturer. By the time the results for the course was released, I had a big fat 'F'. We approached the Lecturer, our HOD, Faculty head etc about the matter. At the end of the day, the guy turned it round on us to say we did not submit an assignment that was 40% (exam was 60 %) and that he gave us a second chance to do it and we still didn't do it. Quite a number of Students who couldn't complete three sentences in English passed that Course. If you had 2 course reps and 2 lecturers like that, it will in one way or the other affect your result at the end of the day, especially at Universities where Lecturers see themselves as God. Victimisation of students by Lecturers is real! |

Other African Leaders speaking up will be a case of KETTLES CALLING THE POT BLACK. Do you know any african head of state or president who was/will be willing to leave office because the citizens are suffering? |

PLS NOTE THAT I AM NOT SAYING THAT ALL UNCIRCUMCISED COCKS SMELL!!! THEY SMELL IF THEY ARE NOT CLEANED PROPERLY! SWEAT AND DIRT ACCUMULATE. |
Has anyone ever seen a smelly COCK!! I will circumsize my baby boy because it is more hygienic!!! Not because of tradition!! I will not circumsize my baby girl!!Apart from taking away a female's ability to enjoy sex(which is it sometimes results in), It is utterly pointless!! |
