See I'm a pro-japa myself infact by the grace of God when I'm done with my B.sc my next thing na to Japa lol make God pick my call.

However, Frankly speaking I won't advice my enemy to Japa to UK as it is today. Considering the amount you are earning here in Nigeria which comparably good IMO. Majority of people don't like to hear the truth. The standard of living is extremely high in UK.

As someone as said. They are low-key in recession they are just being quite about it so people trooping in won't notice cos they actually need that sef. The system is kinda flawed. They give and take double of it back.

You are better off staying Nigeria and perhaps going for vacation occasionally. And if you are still keen on Japa-ing. I would advice you look at other countries like Canada, Australia or perhaps Europe or scadinavain countries. Who knows you might have better opportunities in some of these countries.

My 2cents tho.
Supported.

She can even just be in Naija making her cool cash, invest them( stocks, bonds, fixed deposits, properties). What most people don't have I'm Nigeria is capital... We have the market size and robust economy ( forget the financial crunch recently due to CBN's policy/ies)

When the children are of age eg 18 years, send them abroad to study and reside eg in Canada or USA.

When they get their stay fully eg in USA, the children will file for her and she can then decide to move there and even own her own house( small or big, anyone u choose) if u don't want to stay with your kids. It doesn't stop u owning a house in Nigeria.

Not everyone's destiny begins in abroad

U are also business savvy and by the time u get to USA/Canada through your kids, u will see more mouth watery @Home jobs.
PoliticsRe: 2023 Election Highlights Imperative Of Power Rotation By Farooq A. Kperogi by sharone21(f):
Kukutenla:
Power rotation is anti-democratic. It is a political elite conspiracy to turn political power to a commodity to be traded and negotiated instead of sought for from the electorate. It seems Kperoogi is not familiar with what democracy is about. It is about participation of the populace in the governance process.
Power rotation totally negate that as it excludes some parts of the country at one point or the other from being voted for.
Any country with different nationalities like Nigeria is better served with a regional or provincial govt with a weak centre. That way, the regions are able to determine the pace of development by themselves while the centre takes care of issues that are general in nature.
Power rotation breeds ethnoreligous politics more than any other thing and the attendant "it's our turn to chop" mentality.
What we should be advocating for is stronger regions and weaker center
Power rotation is the BEST.... No region has everyone as a dunce not even for highly intelligent Nigerians.

5 years single term so e go quick reach 'all d children of one Nigeria'.

Resource control is important then, we all pay taxes to the Centre and for those who have some weak States among them eg SW, let the stronger ones( economically)like Lagos help the weaker ones( eg Osun, Oyo) after all they 'help' them during politics and we have been told that they can't be divided in anyway.

Let Senators and all others ( Chairman, Councillors) run single 5year term.

If states are practicing rotation why not at the Federal level.

Resource control and REGIONALISM may even start soon if in other to keep Nigeria as one we all sit down and agree that Atiku rules the North(?).... Asiwaju the West( after all he is very familiar with his region)..... Obi rules the East.... And 3 others are picked to cover the other geopolitical regions. Not only one region ( or handful)will do open eye for the others.

Resource control and REGIONALISM makes u value non indigenes in your midst since u will appreciate them for paying their taxes and helping to boost the economy in that region ( at least they will patronize locals there) as no reliance on oil money.

Resource control and REGIONALISM will help regions develop their seaports which will put less pressure on Lagos seaport and help Lagos look inwards to replace the income coming from the Lagos seaports especially from non indigenes.

Rotational Presidency is the best.

It is already operational within states but when it comes to Federal level those who should know better come in with their party and shout Emilokan which forces Mr. A to come out too to represent his party when it is obvious even to the blind that it is the turn of the SouthEASTERNERS and to make this 5% group( other 5% if not 3.5% are SS and minorities) have a sense of belonging all candidates must be from SE

Anyway the next in line will be Northerners(I guess NC NE)....We go see how dem go wan chance SS wen e reach our turn.

Or better still, let there be a constitutional provision for people to only be eligible to vote in their state of origin. This will help to allay the fears of a take over by another ethnic group in certain regions.

Enough is enough of the disrespect, insolence and stupidity of Igbos to Yorubas.
Yorubas owe Igbos no apologies now they feel about the events of Saturday, 18th of March. If Igbos can't respect Yorubas as their hosts, they will keep being treated as unwanted guests.
Na only Igbos dey Lagos? Even if other non Yorubas talk na Igbo dey bear the brunt because una kukuma no sabi who no be Igbo.

Even UK u guys are parading like ur 2nd home town and some even misbehaving there, if u continue with this nonsense ethnic profiling instead of condemning it, it will consume u guys.

All because of nonsense politics....Una use Igbo say 'na no man's land' to prevent every non Yoruba from voting that day through intimidation and brute undecided....

How I wish we can get names of all urchins behind the monikers celebrating tribalism and ethnic profiling and forward their names fast to these countries demanding for such.

So much for the sophisticated tribe that cannot tolerate their fellow Southerners.

No, there is a current case of an American bull dog( if I can remember) that strayed mistakenly from the owner's house and even when they saw it in another house in the estates, instead of them handing it over to the owner after all, it didn't hurt anyone, the security there said he received instructions to kill it.... This is imported dog ooo not bingo and right in the presence of the brother of the owner, they shot it and while the fog cried and tried running to meet the brother, it was cornered and shot more( about total of 3 bullets).

Lol, don't be ridiculous, how can Nigerian culture be older than Ghana when historically Ghana is as old as Egypt, Nigeria came into being in 1914. Ghana was already an empire way back the 10th century

NB - To those displaying their ignorance under my mention saying Ghana was formed in 1957 bla bla bla. They had the name Ghana before the White man gave them the name "Gold coast" which doesn't have any meaning in Africa language. When the white man left they had to go back to their ancient and ancestral name. Nigerian government must as a matter of urgency reintroduce history into the curriculum. The ignorance about history for many people reeks. It's no longer funny
Knowing history doesn't mean we have to know about every single country in Africa ... Ours is more important to us first.... Yours and others may come as what one reads personally.

Good morning all,

I will make this short and brief. I have work in a school for 10years now. I started working there with a salary of 8k up till 20k. I now have a wife with 2kids. The salary was not taking care of us again. And I was left in taking loan. But in any academic session ie 1st, 2nd, 3rd term, apart from my salary I do see up to 100k or more base on tips and other deals.

I resigned February and I got a new job of 45k. Now my former job is calling me to come back, that I will be given 30k.. maybe when more pupils come my salary will be increase..

Former job
* I go by 7.30 and close by 3.30 and have time with my family
* Trekable from my house, I don't pay t.p.
* I enjoyed public holidays and mid term break
* I don't go on Saturday, still have time with my family
* Tips and pension available

New job
* I go by 7:30 and close by lastest 7:30 or 8 no time for my family
* I pay 400 to and fro
* I work on Saturdays no time for my family
* No tips anywhere.. just your salary and you will be subcharge for any wrong posting.

I have 1 week to decide... Please help coz I am confused.
Which do u have more PEACE OF MIND and FREEDOM?

See eh, Salary( size) doesn't equate job satisfaction in some cases.

Or people must go to POS to get cash with high interests from POS operators?

CBN should release free or cheap POS machines to traders, taxi drivers etc without charges incurred by their customers.

That FCT 25% NONSENSE sounds absurd to me. FCT is often separated from the 36 states because it's a territory, not a state (they cannot call it 37 states). However, as far as the election is concerned, FCT is like every other state in the country.

BTW, if Peter Obi is hoping to use that as basis to upturn Tinubu's sham victory, then I am afraid he has no case against the Druggie because it won't work.
I was thinking that if the FCT is a territory then there would only be appointments into offices ther however if on the contrary, then it should be regarded as a state to ( election into offices) fulfill the necessary political/electoral requirement to be President.

Ogun State doesn't seem to get it right with governors.

Apart from Olusegun Osoba, I haven't seen any that wowed me that much.

Maybe OGD - Otunba Gbenga Daniel a little bit.
OGD made it possible for investors to come into Ogun State far into Abeokuta for those coming from Lagos....As a Governor, he had an all welcoming approach to non indigenes.

According to many Ogun State indigenes, Ibikunle Amosun did well too.

Dapo was slack with road repairs though in the last 1year 6 months+, he kind of woke up from slumber on roads... He is like a father though and runs the State as such so less drama.... He was good in welfare for Civil servants.

Ogun State, unlike what is usually portrayed on Nairaland is safe, even safer than Lagos with enough affordable green cabs, Yellow Okada and some Keke Marwa for its 'less trafficked ' state or even capital( Abeokuta).

Iberekodo to Mawuko in Abeokuta North, Ogun State has no Keke Maruwa... So, bike guys charge( higher when fuel isn't available) N300 per person or 2 persons N500 after some bargaining.

Just letting u know since u asked... Mawuko is springing up with houses and private estates.... Also, Ajegunle Ilepo( with back gate about 5 mins drive after the General Hospital at Iberekodo) to Bode Olude, no Keke Marwa. People share bikes here( N120-150 per person when there is no fuel hike) as to even see one is wahala.... People overload Ogun State green cabs ( N100 per person but not when there is no fuel)since not many pass here.

Besides, if one chooses to go from the back gate of Ajegunle Ilepo to Iberekodo( and to other places), the road there is a mid section that if u follow forward takes one to Mawuko and backwards to Iberekodo but to get vehicle there is wahala. Hoping vehicles will be many there even st night.

Soon, from Mawuko where the FUNAAB satellite campus leads further to Opebi( and out to Ibadan) if the road is well linked( hoping the government will do more in road constructions), there are few bikes plying there.

If these places have keke, it encourages movements in and out.

This is why a woman must watch well before giving and leaving her child alone with a father who isn't ready especially the one who had earlier expressed himself as not being ready to father a child when she was pregnant.

Nigeria presently will not make some men ready to be father's at 30years unlike in some countries, more reason to be deliberate about planning well one's future before unnecessary pleasure.
TravelRe: 9 Key Things You Should Know Before Travelling To Study Abroad This Year by sharone21(f): 3:50am On Mar 18, 2023
pansophist:
My own five list (perhaps advise) if you want to study abroad.

1. Choose countries that offers permanent residents after studies. So far, I know of Finland that does such.

The Finnish immigration changed since April 2022 favorably for international students. You'll get four years (or two years for masters) residence permit and after that permanent residency. Also, some degree programs are still free.

2. If you're single, the better. I mean, you can legalise yourself easily as a single individual. Must you marry from your country? Are you mad? or are you a racist? As a single person, multiple channels for permanent stay are open to you.

Through work permit, marriage, having a child. So the single, the better. And you have only yourself to care for. Unlike married people that have that channel locked, and while struggling as a student, still have mouths to feed and responsibilities to meet.

3. If you're married, then consider Finland. You and your wife can work at least 30 hours a week. School is free for your kids, and lots of social benefits awaits you all. Finland is the new Canada. A society with no single poverty, yes you heard it right. Zero poverty eveb amongst illegal immigrants.

4. Please avoid UK.

Call me enemy of progress, but please avoid UK. Small roads, small cars, even their girls get small arsenal. Also, UK residence permit restricts you to the UK only. A Schengen permit gives you access to all the Schengen countries. And over twenty more non Schengen countries.

Google for "Schengen substitute visa", and you'll see lots of countries in Asia, south America, and non EU countries you can visit just because you have a Schengen visa. Welcome to travel freedom. Please leave UK.
Please, how can one deal with language and tax problems in Finland?
