Celebrities › Re: Hailan Abed: "I Had A Nose Job At 16 & It’s My Biggest Regret" by sharpwriter(m): 6:13pm On May 02, 2022 |
Brendaniel: The funny thing about fashion and style is the confidence behind it, I remember when tupac reigned with the bandana stuff on his head, guys all over the world followed, same with DMX with skin cut, a lot of guys followed too, there was a time guys admired girls with bow legged shapes at a time it was the k-legged shapes because of certain top female personalities who promoted such figures.
There was this senior guy back then in secondary school who had a longer leg than the other so he limped, but the guy had swag, wore his school uniform very neatly ironed, always looking cool and had confidence around girls, before we knew a lot of guys started copying him, he turned his walking step into bouncing step other guys were admiring, that's why celebrities should stop promoting unnecessary surgeries.
People should learn to be confident about themselves Lolz... I resonate with your second paragraph. That walk step was copied by almost all secondary school boys in those days then, especially the youngsters who copy their seniors walking and bouncing steps. We call it 1996 walk style in my area, coz it was prevalent within those mid nineties to late 90's or early 2000 in my area very funny... Na one of the swagz the egbons dey use toast girls for those days |
Car Talk › Re: How True Is This Myth About Honda And Toyota Car Engines? (pictures) by sharpwriter(m): 1:08pm On May 02, 2022 |
Gravatar: I usually avoid threads like this, filled with "beer parlor" information from ignorant and uninformed people, but I have time this morning, na bank holiday here.
Sometimes e good to apply common sense to everything in life first.
Toyota is overwhelmingly the most popular automaker in much of Nigeria, except for pockets in the North where its often neck and neck with or beaten by Honda, Peugeot, etc.
Applying common sense to this fact, which brand engines you feel say go full market?
If 6 of 10 vehicles on the roads are Toyota vehicles, would you expect to go to an auto parts market and 6 of 10 engines would be Honda engines? Common sense.
If 6 of 10 people own toyotas, knowing Nigerians are generally bad at vehicle maintenance, which model you feel say people go find their spare parts more? Common sense
Are Toyotas perfect? Definitely not. Specific models have specific issues. But una no dey ever tire for this "Toyotas are light" or "Toyotas are easily stolen", among several other ignorant and unsubstantiated statements?
Toyotas are in high demand all over the world. It is not a Nigerian phenomenon. The Corolla is the best selling passenger sedan worldwide for a reason, and the people that came up with that conclusion did not even factor Nigeria into their research, because how many people dey buy car brand new for Nigeria?
If toyotas are in such high demand and command relatively high prices compared to similar models in the same class, which models do you think thieves would target?
Thief wey steal Honda Civic, how much you feel say im go sell am for?
Third wey vandalize Honda Accord parts like ECU, window switches, Entertainment system, how much e go sell am for?
Why that thief no go target Toyota instead?
Common sense.
Whenever you wan claim say Toyotas dey light, get online and find the gross weight of the model, and compare it with the gross weight of a similar non-Toyota in the same category. You may find that the Toyota may be lighter or heavier than the other model. The point is, enlighten yourself with facts, not what Monsuru mechanic said after 6 bottles.
If person begin analyse all the ignorance fueled information on this page, e go be full time job, I already have one of those, so I no do.
If after this, common sense still no wan enter your head, my brother or sister, carry go. Thank you jàre boss... Na so dem go dey yarn okpata on matters wey dem no understand. |

fortz007: Good evening fam. I believe everyone’s doing okay. Please I’m caught in a dilemma. I have up to 5m and i have two options. 1. Get a high paying fed job 2. Go for msc programme in canada. I believe everyone’s mature enough here to share their candid opinion. I’ll be reading the comments. Thank you! This is an overflogged matter and it's been over asked on this forum. A quick Google search with nairaland would show you lots of thread on it. Note that every thing that has advantages has disadvantages whether here or there. Just prepare to live with the consequences of whatever choice you make. If you are still confused, then consult an oracle! |

folake4u: You're right oh. Some of their movies made me terrified as a child. I can't even deal!!!
But then again, African parents will see everything wrong in Harry Potter and a host of other fantasy movies because To God be the glory wasn't added at the end of the movie. Lol... Ide èṣù, agbára ńlá (ayamatanga), that demon olokoshe dúdú was scary to us then But the ones that I was so scared of were Ègún aimo and Agba wòlíì Those things were enticing to watch but they took vigor out of me then via fear especially at night when I wanna sleep, not to mention that our area then was plagued with perpetual power failure which was a catalyst for night time terror. I'm still looking for that àgbà wòlíì though. I've not seen that movie since childhood. Alumama itọni |
