Godwin4444: Election has never been this toxic in Nigeria until igbos presented a candidate, imagine wishing him death cos u don’t like him? Imagine many wishing military coup on Nigeria cos their candidate lost n the most annoying part is that it is done by igbos
To non igbos that got fooled to believe in the Igbo agenda, can u now see u people are just a pawn in their chess game
They hailed u like d fool that u are n u got deceived n voted their candidate, now election is over they don’t care if u voted obi or not just imagine how they are insulting everyone
I pity those who don’t know the igbos who rioted in 2013, who carried a coffin ⚰️ with Jonathan's name on it wishing him death? Who lost an election in 2011 which led to the death of hundreds of lives including youth corpers, was it not in the south west you guys protested against Jonathan even carrying a coffin wishing him death, was it not MC oluomo who ordered non yorubas and non apc members not to come out and vote if they aren't voting APC, yet you claim elections haven't been this toxic, GTFOH. |

You are the one talking like a toddler what is the difference as it relates to economy, with its close proximity, is that not the reason for the development, it's just like saying newyork city and newyork when in fact they share same economic reality. You claim Lagos island was the capital but most govt establishment and buildings were in the mainland. |

GeneralDae: He lost his certificate when he escaped from Abacha to Benin republic as refugee. Since then, he's depended on Affidavit and it seems only recently in late 2022 was he called by the school that his replacement certificate is ready (based on his Chattam house speech in December). For 2023, he may have just paid for something from the school that was used as a placeholder and not necessarily the original. I think he used just affidavit in 1999. If this is true then he should speak out in plain language let this issue die for real, and also his supporters need to stop criticizing those who are after the truth of his identity, if there is nothing to hide and a searchlight is beamed on him and he is clean, it would even be to his advantage. |

Omoawoke2: We are talking of who started it, and commercialized nollywood. Well history cannot be changed. It started with Yoruba
And currently, Yoruba movies are the ones breaking the internet and going international. Check what’s happening today. Check the top 10 nollywood movies in the cinemas or Netflix, Yorubas have completely dominated and taken over your understanding of commercialization is different from mine, what I know is that the movies that broke ethnic barriers and national barriers were not Yoruba movies that's all, nobody is trying to deny the Yoruba movie industry and it's pioneers their flowers, I just dont like the false narrative and subtle shade you guys like to give to others. |
TV/Movies › Re: Yorubas Started Nollywood, Own It —Aisha Lawal, Actress And Scriptwriter by Shattuck(m): 10:24am On Aug 27, 2023 |
Omoawoke2: I believe you go school?
A simple research will confirm what he said. We are not sugar coating it. It was all started by Yoruba I said mainstream Nollywood, by mainstream Nollywood I mean, the Nollywood that took over Africa and the Caribbean nations, can you go around Nigeria and ask Nigerians to list some Nollywood movies of the past, you will hear isakaba, living in bondage, blood sisters etc. None will mention any Yoruba movies, ask the same questions about the popular actors of the past, you"ll hear Genevieve, omotola Liz Benson etc, you had your Yoruba film industry but it wasn't mainstream neither can it be described as the Nollywood of today. |
TV/Movies › Re: Yorubas Started Nollywood, Own It —Aisha Lawal, Actress And Scriptwriter by Shattuck(m): 10:12am On Aug 27, 2023 |
FreeStuffsNG: Some people actually think that Nollywood started with 'Living In Bondage ' and 'Domitila'. Smh.
Aisha is even schooling them for free when they should be paying to recieve this kind of knowledge.
Everything about entertainment in Africa, from the first TV station to the first stadium etc, has its root in Ibadan, the heart of Yorubaland through the vision of our forebears. Thank you Aisha for the free education you are giving them.
Entertainment business is total package and it's bringing in billions into Nigeria through the Nigerian music, sports and film industry pioneered by the Yoruba and still owned by the Yoruba.
The chart bursting Nollywood films are produced in Yoruba but subtitled in English, Asake sings in Yoruba, all the Nigerian music Stars that performed at his UK show, including Tunde Baiyewu of Light House, are Nigerians and Yoruba with link to Nollywood. Most of those sound tracks in Yoruba films come from these Yoruba global Musicians.
Even Gospel musicians like Tope Alabi are connected to Nollywood while World Boxing Champion Anthony Joshua, World Athletics record-holder Tobi Amusan, along with Odunlade Adekola, Olamide, Teni and others are Glo Ambassadors, Iya Rainbow, Lateef Adedimeji, Dele Odule from Nollywood as Airtel Ambassadors, with their faces all over local and international Nigerian entertainment contents sponsorship.
Yoruba started Nollywood when the rest of Nigeria and Africa had not even seen or watched a TV in their lives and the Yoruba still own Nollywood till date.
The Yoruba can teach others in Nigeria and Africa how they sustain this global feat and dominance of entertainment if others are humble enough to learn from the Yoruba. We are all Nigerians/Africans and we can learn from one another. you are very ignorant to say this non sense every region had its own version of indegenous language films, from way back, foolishness is when you compare traditional Yoruba movies to mainstream Nollywood, when we talk about mainstream Nollywood only ignorant people will say Yoruba started it, na craze be dat, everyone contributed to the growth of Nollywood even those from the south east were even more of pioneers, the Nollywood that travelled across Africa and the Caribbean, was not your Yoruba indegenous Nollywood. |

After seeing the Igbo coup and killings of the Northern and Southwest military officers and politicians in 1966, even a madman will think twice before he can appoint them as ordinary messenger not to talk of NNPC DG. but you folks trust and respect the north even after they killed your kinsman denied him his mandate, MKO abiola, the worst of it is how you folks from the southwest worships the north when in fact the greatest injustice being done to Nigeria has been from the north, the several coups after where done by the North, right now even the Ilorin religious issues you guys can't even speak up for yourselves, I am not Igbo but we all can obviously see the misplaced priority and cowardice that is often talked about. |

victory36: This is absolutely impossible. Let's be reminded that south Africa, Egypt, Morocco, Kenya , and others are also part of Africa. It is virtually impossible for Nigeria to even have half of total Telco subs in Africa unless each Nigerian has at least 4 each and others have 0.5 each . Nigeria -222.5m, Egypt -103.5m, SA - 100m, Ghana -41m, Kenya- 65m not counting the other 40+ countries. Tell me how again Nigeria has 82% of Africa's Telco subs.🤡 you dey mind them how about Ethiopia's population too, which is the second largest in Africa. |

This same government is working towards an much improved minimum wage of 60k that's highly sustainable and this same govt has been working over time to stabilise our weak naira using every policy they can hatch till now. If you would have done better, tell us how. this is nonsense, you make it sound like this same govt is not responsible for the mess Nigerians are going through, how can you be the messiah to a problem you created, you had no plan for the after effect yet you removed subsidy, you claimed you have saved over one trillion naira, states are getting 5billion how can that mitigate the effect for an entire state?by my calculations 180billion is being shared among states, the 880billion left how is the govt giving account for it? You say the nation is broke yet you approve billions of naira for the national assembly to share among themselves, we can even continue to list it all, just know we can't be all stupid, he is the president let him lead the way he likes but you can't gaslight Nigerians to have us believe that the set of people are not in power for Thier selfish interest. |
