Politics › Re: Malami: National Assembly Has No Power To Summon Buhari by Shattuck(m): 7:41pm On Dec 09, 2020 |
plaindealer: 1. The president is the commander of the Nigerian armed forces, not the legislature. The legislature cannot summon the executive regarding the use of the Nigerian armed forces that's perfectly under the control of the executive according to the Nigerian constitution, that's democracy.
2. Nigeria has 3 Branches of Our Government, the Legislative, Executive and Judicial, all 3 are equal and independent so the legislature doesn't have any statutory or constitutional power to summon the executive or question the executive per the Nigerian armed forces.
Read the Nigerian constitution and while you are at it, civic education. the president can be summoned concerning the security situation and human right abuse by the military, and also questioned. your argument of being the commander of the armed forces does not make him immune to query, if you can't sack your failed service chiefs then you need to answer why. |

Arrewa: see them!!
Make una enjoy!!
Over 40 farmers were killed in Borno village.
You ipobs have been celebrating this tragedy opening thread up and down on how the north is gone.
Farmers were killed in Borno village. But I have been seeing comments from the Easterners telling us how the whole of the north is gone and Wil never know peace.
The unity in the north is second to none!!
The killings happened not to Hausa or Fulanis.
The killings happened to kanuris of Borno.
But we share their pains!!
Killing of 43 innocent villagers in Borno is like a killing in kano to me.
For those mocking the whole north of Over the killings in Borno. Keep it up and enjoy!!
Dear people zabarmari We have failed you. To all those killed, May Allah grant them Aljannatu Firdaus. It's a shame that the people in Zamfara, kastina, Kaduna villages and Zabarmari couldn't get the protection they deserve. This is a failure of security, manifesting before our very eyes.
Heavy Protest loading.... nobody is mocking the north this are our brothers and sisters, all anger needs to be channeled to the right enemy, the govt. |

Politics › Re: Meet Tom Tugendhat Who Accused Gowon Of Looting Half Of Central Bank Of Nigeria by Shattuck(m): 3:07pm On Nov 26, 2020 |
RenaissanceGuy: Let's not be emotional about this. Yakubu Gowon was in Ethiopia attending a meeting when he was overthrown. So how did he then move half of CBN? Did he come back to Nigeria to tell the new military govt to give him half of the CBN treasury? Impossible. Bring up your own "superior" logic. The guy said the man LEFT NIGERIA with half of CBN money. Actually, Gowon went to the UK FROM ETHIOPIA after he learned of his ouster. So it doesn't add up.
MODIFIED: For all of you quoting me misunderstanding my logic, it's the lawmaker who didn't use the right words. He said Yakubu 'left Nigeria with half of CBN' meaning the looting was after he was overthrown and was done at once. He should have said "Yakubu stole half of the CBN while he was the head of state". guess you have a low comprehension level in english, left with does not mean the funds where looted the last day in office, we all know Nigeria's politicians start looting immediately they take office, btw I doubt the half of CBN comment but I know for a fact that nigeria has never had a man of integrity in power. |

Same way Cameron the former Prime Minister referred to Nigerians as fantastically corrupt. You think they make such statements for talking sake? These guys know the depth of corruption in Nigeria even more than Nigerians. while I may doubt the half of CBN claim, no doubt he also stole from the nation just like the rest of em, he can't claim to be man of integrity. |

seunmsg: It is not an offense if they follow the constitutional process of removing the president. However, it becomes an offense when they attempt to remove the president through insurrection. the masses have a fundamental right to protest even if the protest was targeted at Buhari was it a crime, everywhere in the world when leaders fail they resign, you all make it sound like it's an abomination for a clueless and corrupt president to resign, secondly you can't put every protester in one basket some where more focused on police brutality , others on the cost of governance, some on corruption, so when this fools just speak like buhari completing his stupid presidency is more important than the lives and wellbeing of Nigerians, you know just how evil they are. |

Alexaonfleek: I watched 1 movie that made me cry in 2018. I can't remember the name of the movie now But the movie is a romance movie that is about an old married couple trying to remember their love story or so. The woman(then a girl) met the guy in her teens and they were each other's first love. The girl was rich, the guy was struggling. They separated somehow and for years they didn't hear from each other. The lady was to get married to another guy but her first love came back in the pic. What made me cry was how they died together holding hands on the same bed. If anyone can help me with the name please I would appreciate.
Then another one I watched this year. About two black American couples who out of self defense killed a white policeman and were on the run. Also this movie, 'i am somebody's child' or so,the story of Regina Louise. i thinkthe first one is the notebook |

thebosstrevor1: So when reporting news, you have to be one sided and bias.
How do you think? its shameful when you speak, talking about one sided the govt narrative is very well known to be all lies, who should CNN talk to in the govt you tell me is it the president who failed to address the lekki incident when he gave a speech, or the Military who lied that they weren't there, after being caught on videos they said we were there but didn't shoot, then they were caught again as liars, and then they said they shot because they were attacked, or CNN should have talked the the stupid minister if Justice who said the soldiers were hooldlum in military uniforms. how more shameless can ya"ll get. |

If you know how security agents work, you will agree that no soldier will go on such an assignment without being properly armed in case of any unexpected episode. what where they doing there in the first place, everyone has a right to protest somehow you think this is any excuse you can't even justify the govt their flaws is on so many level, they weren't suppose to be their in the first place, they weren't suppose to even shoot either blank or live except you are trying to infringe on their right. |

Neddstark: Where are those clowns that pushed dumb youths to sacrifice themselves in the name of Endsars? Hope you can see the consequences of igniting fire on a country that is sitting on a hotbed. Any conflict in Nigeria will lead to bloodshed by hoodlums, touts, police and the military. This is not about who is in power, when things go out of hands in Nigeria, it is always bloody. You never know the value of peace untill you see war.
RIP to the innocent that died in Oyigbo. Please let us think twice before setting the nation of fire for our own selfish causes. by thinking twice you mean we should learn to take shit, and just be slaves in our own nation otherwise we may get the powers that be angry by demanding our fundamental human right, we should all just be zombies, otherwise whatever may happen is on us. your reasoning smh. |

dukeprince50: its not about political party, cos APC had good intentions for Nigeria but they all later changed and just a few of them(if there is any self) still hold some few integrity. It about individual, Amaechi may be a thief but he is better than any other person in APC. even Wike who they call Mr Project doesn't even come close to Amaechi when he was a gov. As a minister, he was arguably the best I get your point but I just want a situation where we are completely free and unattached from the old system, you know there may be one or two good eggs among them but who will be those who gives them the presidential ticket ? the party also has a say on who gets what appointment? and then the political godfathers whose interest would also be protected while under Osinbajo nigeria may grow but can tinubu or buhari etc be fully probed and persecuted?no there will always be sacred cows but if we restart afresh we can set up our own foundation because everyone will be technically political virgins so there would be no sacred cows. |

No one should come and shout youths are taking over in my ear o. I have seen youths who held some leadership position and did nothing. Even SUG and faculty president are office of thieves, ordinary course rep back then in my school was so corrupt, we had to impeach him. Ordinary protest, we begin loot shop, Make Osinbajo or Amaechi just contest, nothing will make me vote any youth that I know nothing of. Age is not a criteria for good governance, we have to look at personality the biggest issue here wouldn't even be age but political affiliation, you think the apc /pdp govt can really do a 360 turn around for nigeria. |
