PhiliptheArab:The person you quoted don't know anything. Yes lecturers have multiple jobs but it can't be in different federal Universities at a time, not possible. There's no way you will be a full time lecturer of both OAU and UI for instance, together at the same time but you could have multiple jobs say in a federal University, State and then private University at the same time, and IPPIS can't stop that or have any effect on such cos IPPIS concerns only Federal Universities. The only way you can be lecturing in 2 federal Universities at once is if you're on sabbatical in one of them but full time at the other one, which is a globally accepted practice that the Federal government cannot stop. |
helinues:Tell me the truth please. You make comments here on this forum for fun just to wind up people right? Cos I don't want to be believe a normal human will be this foolish in real life. Even Buhari and Osinbajo's kids will not blindly defend the excesses of their parents' misrule the way you do here, at least two of their daughters voiced out during the protest. You're a sorry excuse for a human being. |
IamAsiri:You authoritatively said something you are not sure of that Laycon was the best graduating student of Unilag in 2016 which was a lie and you're asking me if I'm okay for calling you out while attaching a link where the writer is also confused and said unconfirmed reports said Laycon was the best graduating student.. Does that make sense to you? You can't be more of a Laycon fan than me for your information, but we have to remain factual in our claims.. I come in peace. |
IamAsiri:This is a lie.. He had a Second Class Upper. There were 3 First class graduates in his Department during his time. He wasn't even the best in his Department, how could he have been the best in the whole of the University? The Internet you used to type this gibberish without verification could have been helpful for you to verify facts instead of peddling cheap lies. |
thebosstrevor1:The way some of you use words anyhow. Do you really know the meaning of merit? If you do, you won't say this gibberish. You mean the Democratic party elite wanted an Affirmative action candidate and they just picked a nobody Kamala Harris on the street because she's a woman of colour? We're talking about a woman who was a distinguished attorney, District attorney for San Francisco, elected as Attorney General of California State for 2 terms ( the state with the biggest electoral college votes in the whole of US), current serving senator in same California since 2017. Which CV can be richer than this for VP position and someone is talking about not getting it by merit. |
WhizdomXX:So you expect ASUU to be involved in this absurd circus show on the internet like that Twitter account regularly does? Come on, ASUU hasn't sunken that low. That twitter account and any other you may come across bearing ASUU whatever is fake. ASUU has reiterated severally that they don't have any social media handles, whether on Facebook or Twitter. ASUU communicate through press releases and bulletins. |
YModulosGodSon:That twitter account and any other you may come across bearing ASUU whatever is fake. ASUU has reiterated severally that they don't have any social media handles, whether on Facebook or Twitter. ASUU communicate through press releases and bulletins. |
fergie001:Even the one you call the official account (@asuu_ngr) is fake. ASUU has reiterated severally that they don't have any social media handles, whether Facebook or Twitter. ASUU communicate through press releases and bulletins. |
Doraty1:The figures given here for the final votes are wrong. Based on the official announcement by INEC as given by the returning officer few minutes ago on Channels TV, APC got 292k+, PDP got 195k+ while ZLP got 69k+. |
Afamed:Stop using non-payment of salaries as a reason for why PDP wasn't voted in. APC isn't any better in that regard. Akeredolu is presently owing tertiary institutions in the state a minimum of 3 months salaries, some even more, and he's doing this in his first term. We can only imagine what he'd do in his second term now. At least Mimiko never owed salaries in his first term. It was when he was about to finish his tenure in the second term that he misbehaved with non-payment of salaries. A number of factors worked against PDP in this election like APC having access to the state's treasury and being able to use it well to buy votes after weaponizing poverty they caused in the land making the already hungry people settle for crumbs to sell their votes and Ondo state zoning arrangement not favoring Jegede. Non-payment of salary by Mimiko Administration was the least of all. |
Seerade029:How do you measure the largest tribe? Isn't it through the population of the indigenes of that tribe? |
Seerade029:Your observation on the demographics of Ondo state isn't exactly correct. The last census of 2006 gave a rough idea of the demographics.. The most populated to least populated in order are: Akokos (Akoko North, South, East and West), Ondos (Ondo West, East and parts of Odigbo/Ile-Oluji), Akures (Akure South, North and Ifedore), Ikales ( Okitipupa and Irele), Ilajes and Owo to come last.

adioolayi:Any way you look at it, you goofed in that your statement, accept and move on. So in your mind, you feel the proportion of these underemployed Drs is enough to fill in the space of senior academics (Senior lecturers and Associate/Full Professors)? With the current staff mix, NUC is still complaining of inadequacy of Senior academics in our Universities and you want to make it worse with chasing these senior ones away and replacing them with your underemployed Drs who these senior academics supervised and mentored.. Even with a fresh PhD, do you know how the numerous years of painstaking research and teaching it will take you to become a Professor? Experience cannot be bought or easily replaced my brother. |
danilmo:Someone increased school fee without any commensurate infrastructure/improvement added to the school, isn't that fraud? What then was the essence/basis for the increase, so you just increase fees for the fun of it? At 25k school fee, the likes of Agagu and Mimiko can point to structures their govts built and commissioned in that University but in 4 years of Akeredolu with increased school fee, not a single block of classroom/building was built by him in that University and staff there are owed salaries going into the 5th month now, with Akeredolu refusing to give them subventions admonishing them instead to go and procure bank loans for salary payment.. Is that the kind of government you support? |
adioolayi:So much ignorance in one statement. Unemployed Nigerians with B.Sc or highest Master's degree are the ones you want to use to replace Professors and PhD holders with research experience in lecturing jobs right? Is that the best your brain can come up with? |
crafteck:Don't mind the misfit of a President. Always looking for Southerners that are making strides abroad to famz and take glory for but such capable hands here in Nigeria are denied opportunities to use their talent and brain in leadership positions as such positions are flooded with incompetent Hausa/Fulanis by the nepotistic President.. Good riddance. |
Jman06:What is this supposed to mean? Are you trying to absolve Obaseki and his govt of any blame here by claiming his govt is not owing workers in that college? You posted a link which boldly stated that the approval for conversion of the college to Federal was 9 months ago, and they're being owed for 13 months. What happened to the 4 months salary difference the State government ought to have paid them when it was still state-owned? The irony is that same Obaseki was overwhelming re-elected. You'd think he had made the place heaven. The people are truly in love with their oppressors in Nigeria. |
naija4life247:Don't mind the fool contradicting himself.. The person that made that post to accuse Mike is a fellow Igbo person with the name Mwandu. Afolayan merely reposted.. But because they have to accuse Yorubas as the source of their problems and show their ethnic bigotry, they're dragging Afolayan and the stupid ones here on NL are insulting all Yorubas over a post made by their kinsman.. What kind of delusion and obsession can be more than this? |
Vecto:You're very correct with your last sentence.. The chances of getting MLS through SLT OND is very slim such that it is almost non-existent especially for public Universities.. It's well my brother, all the best. |
danilmo:So because ASUU and asup workers who are expected to produce the needed human resources for the state are less than 3%, they are not important and can die of hunger for as much as you care. Imagine how a human is reasoning. With people like you, politicians will continue to be given a field day to oppress indigenes of the state by withholding their wages while spending on frivolities like giving out customized ludos and slippers. If someone can do this in his first time when he's supposed to even pretend and please people so he can be returned, you can only imagine that extent of wickedness he would unleash on the ASUU and asup workers and other categories of workers in the state in his second term when he has nothing to lose again. |
flyingpig:An article of roughly 10 short paragraphs is what is difficult for you to comprehend and you're calling someone else incoherent. If you had read the piece very well and digested it, you'd have seen that it was Obasanjo that was attacking the mismanagement of the economy and talking about secessionists. The writer tried to digress from Tinubu, the focus of the article to Obasanjo, and then returned to Tinubu who was talking the need for unity. Do you expect a Tinubu who helped foisted this Buhari government and still actively supports it to openly attack the mismanagement of the economy? |
NORSIYK:Klopp and average coach in the same sentence. You may not be a Liverpool fan but calling Klopp average means you know nothing about football. Who then are the world class coaches? |
SmartPolician:Existed cannot be correct bro. The person you're trying to correct is right. If he had used "didn't" instead of "doesn't" which is a present tense, that's when existed which is also past tense would have been appropriate. The correct forms are: 1. He doesn't even know you exist. 2. He didn't even know you existed. I stand to be corrected. |
helinues:They're not serious. It's not like they got this EFL rights for free, they must have parted with something tangible for it. If so, why don't they spend such money to acquire rights of other in-demand leagues like Spanish La liga, Italian Serie A or even German Bundesliga cos we all agree EPL rights are the most expensive and would be difficult to get. How many Nigerians are interested in EFL that you expect them to use their hard-earned money to subscribe to TsTV monthly just to watch EFL. TsTV isn't ready yet. |
GodWrites:What do you mean by saying a Nigerian PhD holder needs additional 4 years to be accepted in the UK system. What would the person be doing in that 4 years, doing another PhD in the UK or what? Expatiate. This is the first time I'm hearing something like this. PhD anywhere in the world is a Universal terminal degree that shows you're an expert in a sub-area area of a field/discipline. |
BigBelleControl:That of Giggs is the highest level of betrayal, your own blood brother simply because you're richer than him, and the LovePeddler of a wife too. That guy Giggs is utterly useless and he wasn't even remorseful. I hated him ever since then. |
MrOjay1:You'll also notice that what you observed about foreign surnames of Rivers State indigenes is also obtainable among some indigenous Lagosians especially Portuguese and British names. You'll hear surnames like Savage, Cole, Fernandez, Pedro, Coker etc among Islanders in Lagos. |
Zico5:Klopp is seriously setting Liverpool up for failure this coming season. No reasonable recruitments done so far when our rivals like Chelsea are busy getting it right in the market. He wants to continue with this overstretched squad with no depth and viable options on the bench. What a shame. |
EzzyCarter:That Suya guy is just the worst case one can ever come across. I'm yet to see someone that's as self-deluded as that guy, absolutely beyond redemption. Most times,I'm tempted to think he's an experimental specimen of Artificial-Intelligence (AI)-powered human with unevolved brains - some type of automated bot cos I really doubt a complete human can be that foolish. |
justebuka:Don't let anybody deter you. No course is useless. It's what you make of it that matters, though some may appear more lucrative than others. I like your thinking already as you have Postgraduate studies in mind. Just work hard and graduate with a good enough grade, 1st Class or 2:1. You stand a chance of scholarships for Postgraduate studies in developed countries (you could even be given a direct PhD scholarship and not just Master's). There are very good areas like Medical Sociology you can specialize in. There's a popular twitter influencer, Dr. Ann Amuta who lectures in a University in the US where she specializes in Medical Sociology (Public Health behaviour). She did her first degree in Sociology in Nigeria. It's a budding and interesting area. You could also consider Criminology as a specialization. That way you stand a very big chance of making into top security agencies like the CIA, FBI and even our own local security outfits here like that DSS, NIA, EFCC, ICPC etc. There are numerous opportunities you can explore. I wish you the best. |
WATCHOVER:You said he was mute when thugs attacked the governor. On which platform did you expect him to have addressed that issue. This is the only time he has had the opportunity to talk to both parties, so you can't accuse of him of being mute about something that happened weeks ago when he wasn't presented with a platform to address the issue then like he was just given now. |
MrOjay1:The Oba is the paramount ruler there and he's on ground, receiving first hand info of the happenings in Edo state. He's better informed than you to know which groups are fomenting trouble and sponsoring thugs which is why he called out Phillip Shaibu to his face. He should be applauded for saying truth to power regardless of the person he's accusing being the incumbent, not this nonsense propaganda and narrative you're pushing. I'll take the words of the Oba who is a major stakeholder in Edo state politics more seriously than you an ordinary online commenter who most likely may not even be in/from Edo state. |

. At least he had the best result in Unilag in 2016

. Just a little more groaning and moaning, God will surely hear your cries and send down fire to consume your oppresors
