Yeah he is democratic. He allowed us to do things we like. What he will just do is to advice us. I choose Art when I was in secondary school. I was the only Art student in our family. I choose the school and course I thought I will be able to excel if I studied it. I graduated from UNILAG in 2019 with good result. Immediately, I ventured into one digital technology skill that I think I like. Currently doing it up till today.
Forcing something on a child can't be of any benefits to such child.

As you are pursuing your academic career I encourage you to learn a digital technology skill along oooo. Generally, in this our modern word, having only paper certificate can't give you all you want anymore. So therefore, try to make your research on any digital technology skill to learn alongside your paper certificate so that by 2030 you wouldn't start blaming yourself.
My advice to my Junior brothers and sisters who want to pursuing their academic career.
I graduated from UNILAG
I studied learn and practice Kotlin documentations everyday for 2 years still learning the language.
I studied Educational Management.
What I'm doing now? I'm an Android developer using Kotlin.
I developed mobile application for Android and iOS.
With my tech skill, my UNILAG certificate gives me an edge and confidence over others who don't have a degree certificate.
We are not in the 60s and 70s even 80s. This is 21st century where the world is advancing on modern digital technology. World needs people with technical skills, people who can solve problem not people who only have different degrees.
The era of having only university paper certificate to secure work is fading. Please try to learn one vocational or technology skill.

My point, all these Nigerian guys that come for ladies who buy boxers for them as gifts, ask them this question: what impact have they made in her life to help her grow? What exactly have they invested in their woman to help her grow? It doesn’t have to be financial investments though. Same questions go to ladies who ask for expensive gifts from their men, what impact have they made in their men’s life that would make her think she deserves those gifts or earned it. I have noticed that most relationships in Nigeria today is solely based on sex, some people in relationships don’t even know what else to do in their relationships other than sex. How can you help your boyfriend/girlfriend grow emotionally, financially, in terms of networking and so on.

Ask a lot of youths in relationships today what impact they have made in their BF/GF’s lives and you would hear things like: I buy him/her lunch everyday, I take him/her out to the park or we go on holidays together. Being in a relationship is far more than that.

In Nigeria, many people especially girls goes into relationship just to escape hunger poverty and a quest to their sex starvation.

Come to SouthWest, most especially those rural areas you will see many schools worse than this where students are sitting on the floor to write, those few students you see with desks and chairs are brought by their parent who can't see their children in this bad condition. You will see where lizards and wall geckos came to learn alongside student in the poor and dusty classrooms. If rain wanted to start that automatically the end of the day school activities because there is no roof to shield the student from rain. Teachers will immediately returned to the old blocked staff room.
Nigerian leaders are just too corrupt and nobody to challenge them.

You're right sir, people are just dashing money to all these people without them knowing that they can't really make them a programmer. Programming is a self taught life long learning career if only you are serious about it. There is no any magic to it than just to put in extra hard work by reading programming documentations practicing practicing and practicing more code exercises everyday. You only become better programmer through this. Although, you will face many challenges on the way but ability to solve all these problem will surely make you become a good programmer.
95% of world best programmers are self taught programmers.

They will adopt authoritarian system of government with absolute control. They will molested the fundamental human right of every citizens.
