FamilyRe: Your View On Birthing Thesame Gender: by shevon: 6:51pm On Jan 04, 2015
My dear. The issue of having a same sex children is relative.
To some (like Timbuktou) it is male or never; to someone like me, if I had my way I'd have me 2 girls cos we hardly have them in my family.
So, the answer to your question lies with each individual.
But the truth if the matter is, it is better to have same sex children than not to have at all.
FamilyRe: Advise Him: He Got This Mail From His Wife by shevon: 2:48am On Jan 04, 2015
The Yoruba people have an adage, 'Agba a gbo t'enikan da ejo, agba oshika ni' - meaning: One does not judge an issue based on a one sided argument/story (Forgive my written Yoruba, na Igbo boy I be)
That being said, i feel this issue will be appropriately addessed with the other side if the story (from Madam) is heard.
Be that as it may, the Yoruba's also have an adage, 'Owo omode o'to kpekpe, ti agba o wo akeregbe' - meaning: there are certain expectations from a child which an elderly person should not engage in and vice versa. Ti omode ba n se bi omode, agba a fi agba han.
In my own opinion, I feel you let it gets this far. Patience is a virtue. I used to have issues with my wife when we were dating, issues that almost cost us our relationship. But i have come to realize one thing, respect and mutual understanding is reciprocal in such relationship. You guys are coming from two different background and misunderstandings are definately going to come up, how the issues are trashed out is all up to you as the man of the house. You should have NEVER let an argument or misunderstanding degenerate to a level where you guys start insulting each other, aponle l'ara fe.
Besides, gbo gbo ojo t'oba ro ko ni a n gbe, you should learn to let some things go. As a man, your pride should be the last thing to put into play when it comes to your relationship with your wife, set it aside and settle your differences. Then when things are much better and in a more condusive environment, you can call her and tell her that your ego was bruised (not in a quarrelsome manner though) then you will see that she will apologize and try to avoid such future occurrences.
I hope you guys sort out your differences and save your marriage. 10 years and 3 kids are worth fighting for. Please, don't let it all be a waste because it will be more painful to loose all those good years and time you've had together.

Stanbic passed the N100 charge to my account last month without any pre-notification. The debit was passed when I had less than N100 in my account and they even charged interest for the negative balance in my account as a result of their ATM maintenance debit.

Guy, your response above does not cut it at all. In your first reply to her post, you mention that you had a 48 years old uncle who you are willing to hook the OP's friend with if she is IBO. In today's Nigeria that we all are suffering from quota system/zoning wahala, if that does not strike you as being tribalistic (especially coming from a youth, which i believe you are) then something is fundamentally wrong. I strongly believe this forum will do better without people of your school of thought.
I dont expect nothing less than insults from you as a response; i just wish you goodluck with your search for an ibo wife for your 48 years old uncle. smiley

Lets us use simple word problem to solve the equation at the point where you have '2-[1-0+3]' with emphasis on the figures in bracket.
'1-0+3' can be put in word form as "I have 1 orange at hand, then I take away none and add three oranges, how many oranges do I have left"
Break it down as follows:
I have one Orange i.e. 1
then I take away none i.e. 1-0 = 1
and add three oranges i.e. 1+3
How many oranges do I have left? i.e. 1+3 = 4

Controversial Nigerian Entertainer Charly Boy 'Area Fada' Opens Up On His Sexuality
Charly Boy has always been the king of controversy and in a piece titled “My Wandering Penis”, the power bike-lover opens up on a topic many people have been curious about – his sexuality.

The “Area Fada” talks about being abused at 10 years old and catching his first Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) at 12.

Read the full article below:

Some say that I am gay; some have called me a gay, crazily some think am a transvestite. Some will swear I’m bisexual, hummmmmm. My Sexuality has always been a subject of great scrutiny and misconception ever since I can remember, and I have had a ball if I say so myself. Na today? E don tey!

My parents saw Pepper. When I was barely 10yrs old, my baby nurse was caught tampering with me sexually, Chineke! A practice that pleasured me even though I didn’t know what the heck to do, when we were caught by my mother needless to say how levied she was. My God! Come and see! She beat the living hell out of my baby nurse, didn’t even know my mum knew karate and judo then. No be small thing.

By the time I turned 12, I was disvirgined by a local LovePeddler who dashed me my first STD, the discomfort I experienced was very scary, it was as if my kini was on fire. Kai! I confided in my Mama, who took it upon herself to further frighten and scare the living day light out of me, telling me how sex is so bad and dangerous. Did that frighten me after I was cured?

For where? From there on, girls were getting pregnant around me like they were all catching cold. The more I was beaten up by my father and scared shitless by my mother for my waywardness the more stories of pregnant girls all over the bloody place grew, it was amazing though it wasn’t funny.

Meanwhile in secondary school, my mates were busy being good children, reading their books; I was busy fornicating all over the place getting girls pregnant. It was incredible when I come to think about it now. Yesoooo I was catching my fun with reckless abandon while my parents prayed for my deliverance because chaiii, I spoil from belle, no be today. By the time I was 16yrs old I had my first baby, of course not to be seen as a cursed child I denied any knowledge of ever knowing the woman at the time, who usually were all older than me, some by 10yrs.

All I could chorus at that time was that famous tune by Shaggy, No, “It Wasn’t Me”. By the time I turned 19, my mother in her wisdom talked me into getting married early. I went along with the programme, for me I saw it all as legally having a free supply of p….sy, endless sex, which one be my own. That marriage failed before it kicked off, I was just too young and immature to understand what I was getting myself into, that’s how I ended up marrying 3times, experimenting with different women before meeting my present anointed wife, lady Diane.

It has not been all that bad because I can now see how wanting to be severely me has brought me miles ahead of my peers and age mates.

Now I smell like someone who was always ahead of his game. My first son is about 46yrs old now, an associate professor at MIT in Boston Mass. USA. Then it was taboo for a young man of 16 to be making babies, right now my people, it’s a blessing, and I thank God daily. I have nine kids and 14 grandchildren, I have had my fill God knows, but the hardest thing was the discipline I had to employ when I built the larger than life image that is CharlyBoy.

There were girls everywhere, crawling from between the cracks in the walls, young girls, not so young, old and not too old, married women, red Indians, white, black, green. There were more women around me, God! I don’t even know how I coped, thanks for all that I have learnt as a Buddhist. The art of conquering one’s body, controlling my desires and not allowing it to gain dominion over me.

At first it was difficult, but the more I chased the truth in the line of clean living I started to develop a more beautiful soul. It was only discipline , courage, wisdom and the blood of Lady Diane that helped me survive attacks from all them women, the harder they came the harder they fell. I chased the chasers. No be small tin.

The controversial stunt and hype of being gay, was my unorthodox way of beating off most of the women hanging around me, it was becoming ridiculous. As the hype gained momentum most of the women left me to myself, feeling that my sexual preference was different. The fact that I was able to act with restrain made me powerful, can’t really explain it, but I felt godlike and I knew I had come of age.

As I matured through the journey I started to feel more in control of my erection and emotions. But no thanks to the gay thing, I have always been as straight as a pencil and even if I was, why would I ever hide it, I send anybody? Me, Charlyboy, 007, license to do anyhow. Long story short, it discouraged a lot of women from hanging around, since I couldn’t beat them off. Oh! I played my part very well as Charlyboy. The gen gen tins abi? I’m really good at it, believe me.

Just in case I’m losing you, or have managed to confuse you. Please get your mind out from the gutters I’m talking about discipline here, not indiscriminate sex. I’m talking about the need for grownups to live a more disciplined life, having more respect for your Kini and your body. I may have been a bomb as a teenager, but my brother now I know better how to honour and respect my body. Gbam!

BusinessRe: Konga And Jumia Black Friday And Cyber Monday Sales: Scam, Sham Or What? by shevon: 11:40am On Nov 30, 2014
The whole idea of their black Friday sales was just to drive traffic to their site, not one meaningful item was sold at a discounted rate.
Let me share what I learnt on Dealdey.
Dealdey were (presumably) putting up items for sale at heavyly discounted prices every 30 minutes and in the process of having to put a black Friday sales item in your cart and proceed to checkout you will get a notice that the item had sold out making it look as if someone was faster than you at buying the item.
So, I decided to wait for the 4:30pm sales. But to be sure that I was fast enough to get the item, I funded my wallet, opened a previous page were the item was showing as being sold out so that I can refresh by 4:30 as soon as the item was put up to give me an edge at picking the item. What I saw was amazing: As soon as it was 4:30, I refreshed the page and saw that the product was up but splashed across the top left corner was a bold "Trial Sales" sign, meaning the product that was pur up was not real!
As soon as I tried opening the same page on another tab, it showed that the item has sold out (this was just within 3seconds!)
So, we all can begin to imagine what these online shops (especially Jumia and Dealdey) did, scammed and wasted time of Nigerians.
Oh, but the traffic driving stint worked, Sim Sagaya sent emails out last night that what Konga sold on Thursday and Friday was 500% of what they sold in all of 2012 (proccessing N50m worth of orders every hour at the peak of the sales)
If only we could hold these companies responsible for putting out wrong/misleading adverts, they will definately do the right thing always.

CelebritiesDuchess Of Alba, The World's Most Titled Aristocrat, Dies by shevon(op):
MADRID (Reuters) - Spain's 18th Duchess of Alba, who died on Thursday aged 88, was one of Europe's wealthiest and most titled aristocrats, the owner of fabulous palaces and priceless works of art.
https://l.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/lO8W1Jz8tOD2.hBTME5rMg--/YXBwaWQ9eW5ld3M7Zmk9ZmlsbDtoPTMwMztweW9mZj0wO3E9NzU7dz00NTA-/http://media.zenfs.com/en_us/News/Reuters/2014-11-20T102514Z_1_LYNXNPEAAJ0D7_RTROPTP_2_SPAIN-DUCHESS.JPG

She died after a short illness, surrounded by family in the 14th century Palacio de Duenas in Seville, famous for its lemon-tree-filled courtyards and her favorite of her many properties.

Maria del Rosario Cayetana Alfonsa Victoria Eugenia Francisca Fitz-James Stuart y Silva, known to friends as 'Cayetana', was named by Guinness World Records as the world's most titled person.

She was 14 times a Spanish grandee, five times a duchess, once a countess-duchess, 18 times a marchioness, 18 times a countess and once a viscountess, according to the entry.

With her cloud of white hair and face moulded by plastic surgery, she was rarely out of the Spanish gossip magazines, most recently on the arm of her third husband, 24 years her junior.

Head of one of Spain's oldest aristocratic families dating back to the 1400s, and the third woman to hold the title of Duchess of Alba in her own right, her wealth is estimated at between 600 million and 3.5 billion euros.

"I don't like to talk about money. Many people confuse having cash with having assets - we've never had a lot of cash," she wrote in her autobiography.

Many of the palaces, castles and works of art belonging to the House of Alba have restrictions placed on their sale because of their historic importance for Spain.

The 13th Duchess of Alba was a muse of artist Francisco Goya in the 18th century and is rumored to be the subject of 'La Maja Desnuda', his famous portrait of a reclining nude which hangs in Madrid's Prado gallery.

The duchess tells in her autobiography of how Spanish artist Pablo Picasso asked her to pose nude to recreate the painting, but her conservative first husband forbade it.

Born in 1926 in a neoclassical palace in Madrid, she spent much of her childhood in London when her father was ambassador to Britain and where she dined with Winston Churchill and played with Princess Margaret.

Her father, an Anglophile and royalist, sided with dictator Francisco Franco at the beginning of Spain's Civil War but relations grew frosty as it became clear Franco would not reinstate a king as head of Spain.

The twice-widowed duchess first married aged 21 in 1947 to fellow aristocrat Luis Martinez de Irujo in a wedding on a scale to rival that of Britain's Princess Elizabeth later that year.

Wearing a pearl and diamond crown, she rode to Seville Cathedral in a horse-drawn carriage with thousands of well-wishers lining the streets to cheer her. The couple had six children.

She became a fixture of the international jet-set, hosting Audrey Hepburn and Jackie Kennedy on their visits to Spain and turning her Madrid palace over to French designer Yves Saint Laurent to stage a Dior fashion show in 1959.

An aficionado of bull-fighting and flamenco, she often took place of honor at bull-fights in her beloved Seville, usually sporting a magnificent 'mantilla' - the traditional Spanish lace veil worn over a high comb.
https://l2.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/N2Ej5qmfLGy1GfxaDnrhpQ--/YXBwaWQ9eW5ld3M7Zmk9ZmlsbDtoPTM1ODtweW9mZj0wO3E9NzU7dz00NTA-/http://media.zenfs.com/en_us/News/Reuters/2014-11-20T095732Z_1_LYNXNPEAAJ0C9_RTROPTP_2_SPAIN-DUCHESS.JPG

The duchess, who favored an eccentric clothing style, sporting beaded anklets and fishnet tights well into her eighties, married former Catholic priest Jesus Aguirre Ortiz de Zarate six years after the death of her first husband.

Her second husband died in 2001. Her courtship with dashing civil servant Alfonso Diez gripped the nation, aroused disapproval from Queen Sofia and was openly opposed by her six children.

Before tying the knot with 61-year-old Diez in 2011, the duchess divided her fortune between her offspring to silence their protests.

Although ill health kept her out of the public eye in later months, her most memorable recent image was when she flung off her shoes to perform an impromptu flamenco dance before a forest of cameras and well-wishers at her third wedding.

"Together we have a wonderful time. She's always asking: What shall we do next? She's unstoppable," said husband Diez in an interview in Vanity Fair magazine shortly before their marriage. "It often seems that I'm the older of the two."
