Lordsocrates:You dey mind our jobless illiterate youths with WAEC certificates that they can't defend. Let Buhari try it and see totally different reaction. Nigerians are the problem of Nigeria and the government is a perfect reflection of the aggregate of the people - too bad for the truly educated, principled & hardworking few. |
Important to always learn from the past to address the current & future challenges. This is another indication that Ekiti had no governor for 4 years, the state had an Emperor. Even the so-called dictator & anti-democracy Buhari dare not try it without huge public outcry. |
Always 5,000. |
"That is not Prince Charles. Prince Charles don die. That is Nicodemus from Switzerland." - Nnamdi Kanu |
In summary, Afonjas are the original Jews of Africa not Igbos. Nnamdi must hear this ![]() |
The greed of the politicians (who really don't give a damn about tribe/ethnic group as long as there is money to share) has really dealt a huge blow on Pan-Africanism. I just wish we could find a way to start sowing seeds of love while appreciating our respective cultures. At least the 3 major languages should be mandatory at elementary level. Annual cultural events (not some fake Brazilian carnivals) should be encouraged with Hausas, Igbos, Ijaws, Yorubas, Tivs etc converging in Abuja, Enugu, Sokoto or Ibadan to showcase the beauty of African culture. We should all be sound students of our history and culture and above all, masters of the riches of our local languages. Our history as native Nigerians should not revolve around the Civil War and the related events! That is not what defines us! That is a product of greed and selfishness of politicians and administrators starting towards the end of the colonial era. The narrative should change. Yorubas and Igbos are not enemies. They have lived together peacefully for years before politics started ruining things. Same with the Hausa-Fulanis despite the added complexities due to religion. The Yorubas were able to manage this effectively for ages. The Igbos also have been peacefully doing business in the northern parts of Nigeria and beyond for several generations. There have been issues but those negatives never defined the people and that's why they are still there with strong roots till today. Let's stop fanning the destructive embers of division. We have so much in common than we think! We are Africans, and frankly, that's how non-Africans see us - nothing more, nothing less. Let's start using our brains instead of our emotions so we can understand and focus on what is important. |
RIP but I just have to spill this out... To those in similar situation, pls stop listening to idiots with limited life experience telling you that your grade in the university is the all-in-all with regards to your future. It is a blatant lie. Yes, a good result may give you an early break with a comfortable job but that's just one of several possibilities. A poor grade may actually be a way of steering you towards your actual destiny. You may be able to raise funds to start your own business and prove yourself, some would travel abroad and start afresh with even more enduring success, and yes - some would venture into politics and stand out there while others may jut get lucky with choice of very enterprising girlfriend/wife and then it's back on track towards ending up highly successful. I can go on and on. Your university degree is just another line on your curriculum vitae to open doors of opportunities. Those doors open via other means also. There is no law that says university degree is a prerequisite for success in life. Never ever give up - there are still several other races ahead of you to run!!! |
1.) Seizing his phone is an invasion of his privacy. If using phone is against school regulation he should be reported for investigation and handed the full measure of appropriate disciplinary action. You cannot seize his phone. 2.) Both lecturer and student should face investigation for fighting. The lecturer's penalty should be much higher. He should know better. |

"She looks old. He looks old". The most stupid comment you read on Nairaland - sorry, you are also older than you were last night and besides she will look old to you if you are younger and young to those who are older. In essence, you also look old to some people. Common sense ![]() |

manikspears:He is right. It is about your credit scores. However you can build your credit history to qualify for credit cards by using your paycheck to secure credit builder loans from credit unions or get retail stores cards or even car loans. |
If you are criminal minded in Nigeria then your chances of being a criminal abroad is high. If you are honest but held back by the Nigerian environment then you are likely to live a very comfortable life working regular jobs abroad & still send spillovers home to assist people. |
iiooxx:Negative news travel much faster. A vast majority of Nigerians abroad are doing well helping theilmselves & their families with their honest regular jobs, some take up multiple jobs. Let us not disrespect them because of a few greedy fools. |
