shoelotng: I remember the former ooni sijuade been a board member in Benz ( as I de read and bear o) and Rcc ( this one was confirmed )had whites kneel before him in ife ! The truth is respect should be accorded evenly especially in our own territory! Your opinion, not 'the truth'. Cultures evolve as horizon expands. If I travel to a place in Asia and the culture says guests at the palace must eat lizards with the king, I will respectfully decline. Respect doesn't mean you must do what your host requests. |

Looking at some comments here I can't help but wonder why Nigeria is blessed with too many morons. I think there should be a birth control law in Nigeria. People should only have the number of kids that they can properly nurture into highly esteemed human beings not wastes of space and resources. |

daxon001: in my 4 yrs in UI, I never saw any hall structure this gross..this revamping is long overdue abeg... They will fix it - hostels like Indy and Zik were horrible in the 90s and I'm sure they got some financing to fix them. OAU students were the ones typically laughing at UI back then, though most of OAU's Awo Hall has always been in terrible state even at that point. It was horrible. |

danielitaugbede: See the problem I have with Nigerian Christians? He only "defended" the Catholic Church. Cardinal, I thought u believe in unity of all believers? Do u have to mention that no priest or even the pope has a private jet Are u afraid to own one? Then I bet it is becos u are afraid of the people not really becaukse u care for the poor. I believe he was responding to the governor who attacked him with tithe comment and he provided those facts since his church doesn't enforce tithe. |

Regardless of your affiliation if you look closely enough and you are not focused on pockets of human weaknesses & dirts here and there, you will always say God bless the catholic church. No noisemaking but mightily blessing people every blessed day from the bitter cold of Chicago to the slums of India to even the hinterlands of Nigeria with no landing space for private jets just footpaths they provide food, shelter, healthcare, education, love and care. Again, human flesh can never attain perfection but God bless those churches that preach with their touch of love. If only our Governors could adopt a fraction of the essence of the catholic church. |

A prestigious school like The University of Ife was renamed obafemi Awolowo University (OAU). None of you protested because all the Yorubas like Awolowo. If the Yorubas loved Abiola as they claimed, then they wouldn't have had any problem as regards immortalizing him with their best property. Jonathan only wanted to know if actually they love Abiola but it is now clear to everyone thst their so called love for Abiola is none_existent BS |
Education › Re: Moshood Abiola University Vs Alex Ekwueme University by Shikena(m): 6:52pm On Feb 04, 2018 |
successinlife: But University of Ife was renamed Obafemi Awolowo University.Isn't Great Ife a first class University? There were protests back then but IBB won't have it - military dictatorship. Besides, OAU was Awolowo's vision. He built the school. UNILAG's history is different. There is no basis for changing the name to MKO's after about 50 years of existence. |
Education › Re: Moshood Abiola University Vs Alex Ekwueme University by Shikena(m): 6:30pm On Feb 04, 2018 |
BlackPeni5: When GEJ renamed Unilag as MAULAG, he was nearly crucified and all the supposed Abiola lovers preferred that Unilag retains its name rather than immortalized their hero.
Now PMB has renamed Ebonyi University as Alex Ekwueme University and the whole Nation is quiet.
So what's really the difference between these two situations. If you think deeply about it, this is actually a huge indictment on GEJ and a plus for the current president. You have to evaluate a lot of factors before arriving at a decision. Obviously there is a reason why UNN was not the choice. GEJ goofed big time so let's just give it a rest. |

All I know is there will always be conflicts and resolution is always required but social media should not replace family meetings! Why do we always disrespect family structure? Is it because we can bullsht family & move on until begged? Even with this social media craze, can you just recklessly post something online on a conflict with a colleague at work just because you got mad without facing dire consequences? |
Celebrities › Re: Amara, Kanu Nwankwo's Wife Blasts Ogbonna Kanu, His Younger Brother by Shikena(m): 9:07pm On Jan 20, 2018 |
Gentle2015: Shut up! what do you know? it is people like you who treat your family anyhow that makes your wife disrespect them.
Kid, let me tell you something today. Take it or leave it. If everything changes for Kanu (I dont pray so), his wife *might* leave him but his siblings and parent will never do that. Let that stuck to your head.
And for your info, I have been married for years and no matter what, I dont joke with my family. I treat my family and also siblings well.
A word they say.... Thank you. Some people think real life is some Nollywood movie. I respect the wives/mothers but blood is blood. My wife is not my blood. I will protect her always but she can never be above my blood my siblings. My siblings can never cease being my siblings no matter their shortcomings but we can’t say the same about a wife. A lot of water already passed under the bridge before I became husband material and my siblings were there. Amara may have been the perfect wife till this moment but at this point she has successfully disgraced her husband’s entire family! |

engrchykae: Let him meet the southwest and reach good agreement and the rest is love story He shouldn’t have any issue in the SE/SS so to clear the entire south he needs SW on board and that’s where the youths come in. The SW elders are set in their ways so the youths have to make it happen & drag the women elders with them. However, for me, the most important battle ground is the middle-belt and we know that shouldn’t be a tall order with the herdsmen menace. This is possible!!! |

ken4jj: If Nigeria was a normal country, this kind of people should be given the chance but then Nigeria is not normal so there is no chance that he will make any head way. Nigerians will still prefer their ancestors and corrupt people with no idea to keep ruling them while they complain about bad leadership all the time This can change if you step out to vote right and convince at least 10 friends and family members to do the same. |
Politics › Re: Donald Duke Indicates Interest To Run For President In 2019 by Shikena(m): 12:10pm On Jan 16, 2018 |
HAH: He will be like osita chidoka in anambra, he is desirable but election in Nigeria especially governorship and presidential takes more than fine face and good speeches. Hope he is in either APC or PDP because this are the only two political parties with structures that can win election, others are just pretenders
God help him If we truly want things to change in Nigeria then we need to confront the ‘structures’ with our votes. There is no way I’m voting Buhari/GEJ/Atiku if I see Donald Duke or his likes on the ballot paper. We need truly sound people as leaders and elected officials. |
