1 - Thanks for setting the record straight & sorry for that assumption. 2 - For the records, I wasn't yelling and I don't even know how it's possible to yell or detect yelling online. So I guess sometimes we are all guilty of wrong assumptions. 3 - I know you are not IPMAN and you don't set petrol prices. I also know IPMAN is not you, and did not set the price of your car. What I know is that You, IPMAN, and I are all part of a free market economy. The I in IPMAN stands for INDEPENDENT. realestawe: For the record I'm not a man. That car as of 2020 was 3.3m with clearance. The honest truth is that there are people who are willing and able to afford it and also its negotiable ok? Why are you yelling at me as if I'm IPMAN that jacked up prices? |

That is true. His people are all over even the smallest towns across Nigeria and are mostly well treated by the locals. I know several families in the south west housing corpers from his side of the country for free even after service. We are human beings first but we all have ancestral homes and we can never change that fact, we should respect others and that way we get multiple folds of respect back. Most Nigerians are no different from IPMAN. They capitalise on everything at almost any corner of the country. Yet they come online and start forming holy. Leave my people o, we have our own personal definition for everything including free market airsaylongcome: In a free market (one without price controls aka subsidies), there is freedom of entry and exit into the market. Why would the government demand that IPMAN be subject to Major markets in a truly free market? Petrol is now a commodity similar to noodles or biscuit and anyone is free to sell at whatever price they deem fit. That's the reality of subsidy removal |

Don't mind them. - If we have Obi, we will save a lot of money and invest it in Nigeria Breweries, Guinness, Hero beer, Alcohol distilleries, and many local palm wine businesses. - The remaining savings we will keep it for Nigerians at Fidelity Bank where Obi's stake in the bank will make sure our money is secure. - Also, the accrued interests will be invested offshore in Obi's family name, preferably his daughter, as that worked very well in Anambra where we all trust him and his daughter very well. The entitled Nigerians won't understand this simple and effective model. mrdharkchild: Do you know how much Nigeria will make or save if the cost of government is reduced?
That's is what Obi is coming to do, and that's why Owo-mI-Da Entiltled tribe don't want him in.

I don't think it's a problem with your imagination, it's more of a hearing one. Agulu's voice is "loud" and "clear" in the likeness of frogs and that fact is as realistic as it gets Buddha3:

No vex. I'm not very good with imaginations. I'm more of a realistic individual. I simply pay attention to things I can see and confirm, like Tinubu's ugliness. |

Now imagine that frog voice from Agulu as president, foreigners and abokis go think say na skit whenever he talks Buddha3: Without mincing words, Tinubu is the most unpresidential material we've ever had in Aso Rock!
Buhari was a gigantic failure but whenever you saw him in photos, you couldn't help but admire his gait and panache.
Even with the best cameras money can buy, Tinubu's face and appearance commands shame and a sad face whenever his pictures turn up in the media.
Obasanjo was not facially presentable, but darn, his personality was menacing and intimidating! And he had the strides of a leader.
Tinubu is not just ugly, he's hunched and frail, with teeth that make you feel he should have no business smiling into cameras. And with all certainty, he's going to be a failure. The signs are already there and way too obvious to be ignored.
I prayed that God shouldn't burden us with a President who'll make us miss Buhari. But clearly, God doesn't answer certain prayers.. |

BabaCommander: So our own consumption has not really fallen? I have personally cut down on fuel to half of what I used.. and I know a lotta folks who did same.
Since our fuel is no longer being subsidized, how is it possible to smuggle it again? Is it still cheaper hear than in Niger and Benin Rep? Might still be lucrative across border towns. |
Politics › Re: Subsidy Removal Drags Down Petrol Consumption By 28% by Shikena(m): 12:12am On Jul 08, 2023*. Modified: 1:58am On Jul 08, 2023 |
Just correlations for analysis not actual figures. Domestic consumption falls by X Smuggling falls by Y X + Y = 28% (Total reduction) Unless we assume smuggling is now 0% (I am not expert on what other factors drive smuggling especially in border towns of neighboring countries), if domestic consumption falls by 5% and smuggling falls by 23%, we still have 28%. Meaning, unless we have accurate figures there is no definitive conclusion here as analyses would be based on pure assumptions influenced by our personal inclinations. BabaCommander: Meaning that domestic consumption has not fallen?
Or that the much talked about smuggling was negligible? |
