My husband did a SFA test. Doctors in the house, what does it say.

Time produced- 1.45
Volume 2.3m/s
Viscosity: moderate
PH: 6.5
Morphology: 20% amorphous
Mortility: 60% actively motile
15% sluggishly motile
25% dead cells
Count: 20.5x10^6

HIS semen is fair, WHO STANDARD IS 18M, HE has 20m, though the semen is a lil acidic, i wonder if its cos of diet/drinking??...let him take more alkaline foods/fruits, as alkaline is beta than acidic

Like am kind of confused because I read going for flushing isn't 100percent guaranteed. What can one do in this type of situation, can one still continue baby dancing despite all odds, though am shaking but have costed all my worries unto God I know by December I will carry my little one, yassss , I have that stubborn faith, baby dust to us all. Someone should please answer my question plz oooo

continue bding when you can, no harm in that...start serrapeptase highdose upto 600,000 spu, it softens the scar tissue so that during flushing, they would gently fall off, best to be on serrapeptase 1 to 3 months b4 flushing, the longer, the berra

Good evening everyone, I just came across dis group. Am feeling down cry
right now ,I just got my period now after a failed iui which cost about 700k with one hospital in lekki, money wasted for nothing.....pls can someone recommend a very affordable hospital for IVF with a good success rate for me

With this iui the doctor started with 300k , again requested for 200k also some money for other tests which made everything amounts to 700k , now he wants us to come back for another cycle....infact am so done with him

the doc no try, iui is btw 70k to 350k in most places, mighty ivf cost 800k in many places during promo, i rather do ivf than iui of 700k

What test did you do? Go for laparascopy for proper diagnosis. I was told I had endometriosis last year because I was experiencing almost all the symptoms, but during hysterolaparascopy it was discovered I had polyps and not endometriosis

THE POLYPS WERE CUT OFF DURING HYSTERESCOPY??, any tips for them not to regrow again?

Thanks mama..... But is it possible to have ovulation cramps, ewcm and still not ovulate?

Cos I usually get that, even before being married.

only a tvs b4 and after can conclusively tell you, cos some follicles grow to 20mm and above..and fail to rupture..thus transforming into an ovarian cyst, so if the person didnt do an after tvs, she may think she ovulated

Ok. thanks. But which test can l or hubby do to check for any infection.

sfa for men comes in 2 options.
1. sfa alone cost 2k to 4k in most places
2. sfa = mcs /culture cost 4k to 10k, here in addition to checking the semen, it is also cultured to see what microbes will grown

She's on a 27-28days cycle

It has been a very strange thing all along.. Lemme tell more of the stories..

The last time we had sex was on the 19th of January, we never hoped it would result into pregnancy because that was the last day of a menstruation. Traces of blood still stained her pant on this day. So, we just wanted to have fun, since she just finished menstruation. As a result, I didn't even come to the point of ejaculation. I got tired in the process and I couldn't cum. She even told me she took a dose of Postinor something I detested so strongly. I disallowed

We're waiting to see if she will see her menstrual period again this month before we go for another test.

something isnt adding up, ttc and postinor no dey waka the same road for whatsoever reason sad sad sad

that aside, its either the postinor is causing the false positive, or another not so good option is an ectopic pregnancy - wch i hope isnt the case.
run this ectopic preg thing by your doc, when next you go..meanwhile let the woman be aware of her body and observe for dull/sharp pain on the shoulder blades, thats 1 of the symptoms of ectopic.

Hello Good afternoon. There is a bit of confusion that besiege me as I type.

Here is the summary of my wife's story

She began to feel some symptoms like nausea, fatigue and something that resembles implantation bleeding. We ran to the hospital to test and her blood tested positive. We came home but her urine tested negative.

Since blood gives a more legit information about hCG, we weren't perturbed about her urine.

But to our surprise, she had her menstrual period the next cycle, that is about 2 weeks time. We rushed back to the hospital to complain. The doctor did an ultrasound scan, but nothing was found. Not even the embryo sac. He asked us to come back after two weeks for another scan, since it might be an early pregnancy.

We rushed back to the hospital when it was about 5weeks, blood still testing positive, urine testing negative, and the scan couldn't pick anything up. I also need to say that she hasn't missed any menstrual period.

What could be likely for all of these?? Please help. The suspense is killing me

.

HOW LONG IS HER CYCLE, AND what day did you do the first test?
the female body doesnt know its pregnant till 3 to 5 days after implantation, implantation also happenes 3 to 5 days after ovulation. i think i read somewhere that ovulation hcg spike is similar to pregancy spike, and an ovulating woman will test positive to a preg test strip...

have you done a urine test again?
the doc should do preg blood count test, cant remember what its called, but its supposed to double evry couple of days for a pregnant woman

Please I need your useful advice and suggestions.
I am about to get married in about 3months time I just discovered during a private routine medical checkup that I have varicocele and I was told it affects my fertility as a man, I don't want to get married and be TTC..I need your useful contribution on where in Nigeria I can have the varicocele repair surgery and the cost of the surgery...

i would suggest you do an sfa, the result of the sfa would indicate if your semen is poor/being affected by the variocle. sfa is very cheap and easy.
sfa = seminal fluid analysis, it just occured to me you may not know grin.,,,as a newbie
cost btw 3k and 10k, ensure you do sfa+mcs..ie culture to check for infection in the semen

If there are no underlying challenges like infection, I'll suggest you get fairhaven's myo inositol and ovaboost. you can also take vitamin B complex. All of these are very good in aiding the body produce quality eggs. You can read more on it. All the best sis.

in addition, i suggest you start taking royal jelly, ubiquinol and omega 3, these work to improve egg quality.
would recommend you add ovaboost to the 3 supplements i listed above and observe for 2 to 3months..b4 thinking of clomid

Hi mamas I started my period today, please when can I go for the hsg test, and my doctor prescribed some antibiotics for me today, can I be on antibiotics and still do hsg test, will they be able to get the accuratr result? Am not ready happy that am doing my period, I don't really like sex, what can I use to make me feel like having sex , I need a baby

why did the doc prescribe antibiotics for u?..do u hv an underlying infection, if yes, best not to go for hsg when u hv infection as the procedure will push the infection further inside ur reproductive system, btw the doc should know that ..

for libido increase, low libido is usually a sympton of hormonal inbalance all things being equal, take dates/coconut/tiger nut combo, eats lots of cucmber and water melon, also add vitex and maca to your regimen

Yeah, they did that. I will have to check again in a later date.

hmmm, if they did that and didnt see any follicle at all on cd 10, its a lil strange, cos even if you ovulate on cd 20, small follicles shud be present, anyway try again in 4 to 6 days later n see, meanwhile i recommend you stock up on egg stimulating supplements, like ovaboost, ubiquinol, royal jelly, etc

do a proper follicular tracking, they will wear condom on the tool and insert in ur vjay, it sees better than surface pelvic scan.
since ur cycle length is 29, u ca start from cd 10 or cd 12

Happy new year to all the fruitful mothers/fathers in the house, It's really been a while but this time I'm coming with a heart full of joy and a mouth wide open with a testimony. It ended in praise ..... Praise the Lord! we are now expecting.

I did a lot of things that I can't tell which brought about this result; I learnt about Akamu here and incorporated it with beans into the family menu, we ordered and use fertilsan m for three months, embarked on joint fasting/prayers and declarations with dh, mum visited and specially prayed for us, took vit b6 and E (cause of sore boobs),
Never give up cos you are next to testify in Jesus name Amen

pls, other sabi mams can chook mouth, this vit b6, whats its function and dosage, my dw has tender nipples, a wk to af, and af spots for 2 days, b4 coming out with a vengeance from the 3rd day, her cycle is usually 28/30 days, she get cramps one week to af too, from my research all these points to pms, would vit b6 help, heard of cases where vit b6 distorted some peoples cycles.

Sis, pls get the progesterone ursef, the earlier the better. You can try cyclogest, it's available in any pharmacy. You will carry to term in Jesus Name

the cyclogest , once u start it, should be continued till 3months/end of first trimester...thats when the placenta kicks in and starts nturally producing adequate amounts of progesterone.
a cheaper alternative, though less reliable is baby aspirin 81mg, its best used b4 u start spotting, if you are spotting already, cyclogest remains the best bet, act fast!

i also had a good review from a frnd thats y i went there bt i dont knw y i and my other frnd both had a day2 transfer, am guessing something went wrong or becos its a promo...i wish you gudluck with them, jst sharing my experience n that of a circle mate

really strange, day 2 transfer isnt common at all.this is because, they try to replicate the natural process, as it takes the fertilized egg 3 to 5 days to travel from the fallopian tubes to the uterus to implant.

i wish you cared to ask them the reason for that.
could hv been an experimental procedure, or the gynae doing the transfer wanted to travel, they had a problem with their hatchery/incubator, or the embryologist etc....we will never know.
though promo or not, no ivf center operates on purpose to give patients bfn, cos the more bfps they have, the more people will rush to their place

my dear sister please stay away ooo cos i n my frnd had a failed ivf there in their 2018 promo and they did a day 2 transfer instead of day 5 for me and her.
they are so sweet and caring in the beginning bt once it goes wrong they ignore you, also there is to much secrecy cos u dont see ur result they will just be readin it to you from the system.
one mama complained about them here bt i was busy defending them back then.... mama if you are reading this please forgive me.

wow, day 2 transfer?...its either day 3 or day 5, did they tell you why they opted for day 2 transfer?
best approach for naija hospitals is to discuss everything upfront, like do you do day 3 or day 5 transfer?. i would like to have copies of all my results - do you the hospital have a policy against that etc??, our last ivf, the y had to ask me at a stage if i had a medical background grin grin grin

yeah, most naija ivf centers dont really know how to handle bfn, guess its part of the harsh african culture, i suppose.
wow, heard really good things about them from someother person,

pls mamas that have more info about them shud chook mouth

We went for the review for
all the test we did and the doctor said dh has low sperm count so he will do picsi (to be able to pick the viable active sperm which will cost us extra N290,000) and I will do laser assisted hatching because I am more than 35years(because after age 35 the walls of the egg will thicken according to the doctor which will cost us N190,000 and we did not budget for this extra cost. We were weak because of this extra cost and have to shift the procedure till March in order to gather some money.

So the ivf we suppose to start this month Jan has been shifted till march for us to save for the extra cost. Truth be told I was so down throughout today and was telling dh that I am tired of this pregnancy issue but he encouraged me that I should trust God that anything can happen concerning the issue of money.

I was so eager to start the ivf because I believe that my first try will be a success but see what money has done to us.

hmmmm, na waoh, what is the name of the clinic?. and what is the total cost without this new money added

Very True. Am also planning to start one at a promo clinic. There is an issue my regular clinic observed. Its called adhesion/ashermans syndrome. But the promo IVF clinic said there is no problem. They didnt even show me the result of my hormone test. Am realky scared of going ahead with the promo clinic cos i dont want to throw my hard earned penny into the pit.

insist on collecting every result from your doc.
what i do to avoid long stories is to tell them beforehand. during discussions b4 i pay, that i want to collect copies of all my results, most of them dont have a problem with this approach, n you can also be inventive and use your phone to scan such docs, cos they may not have a photocopier to make copies for you

What do you think about adding CoQ10 or ubiquinol to the list for fertility support? A form that is water and fat-soluble absorbs better.

ubiquinol is far beta than coq10. i would say, go for it, as ubiquinol is good for both egg and sperm

they do icsi+ivf, and sperm count as low as 600k is ok for ivf
