This is why I like Omoni Oboli...she knows how to choose quality projects and not trashy ones like 'Blackberry babes'(Ipad girls ni) or 'Dumebi the village girl'. The sky is just the beginning.

Mustay: Starting rhetorically, for you to have got to this stage, I believe you are now an adult - well that's why you're one; you're responsible for making decisions that affect you and your environs.

On viewing this topic, I thought it was gonna be about the 'PHD' thingy in schools.

What you're experiencing is normal - it's more like the 'expectations' theory. My guy, the confidence it requires for a 3rd class is totally different from yours o! You got the advantage already with your grades while the former has to proves stereotypes wrong that s/he is not an 'olodo'.

You do not want to disappoint people but just be yourself, that's all. If you really got the stuff in you, the golden fish can have no place to hide. The deal is that one works towards his or her luck which is what your grade has put a premium on for you.

You trying to 'divert' to another course must be something you're really sure about. No one is trying to scare you but those who will be shocked by your decision will express the same fear - no one wants you to make a mistake you'll regret.

Don't walk in peoples' shadows - yoruba people say, "won o o ki wo ago alago sise" ie "you don't use somebody else's watch to work". That someone says you should not work as a first class is not TRUE. As much as Rome wasn't built in a day, the difference between you and those who say little of what they know is the research you make and careful analysis before taking decisions that are not bandwagon-like.

If movie production is the passion you got, take a careful study to learn in the industry. Be careful to those you take advices from and how you pay attention to every statement you're told - some are bourne out of ignorance/illusion. It's left for you to sieve the wheat from the chaff - goodluck! cool
God bless you bro. Your advice is very well noted.
BusinessRe: Must You Really Start Your Own Business? by sholay2011(m): 4:50pm On Mar 10, 2013
blink182: starting a business isn't for lazy people like you. There's nothing to discuss. People who really want to simply start and solve their challenges one day at a time.
You are really a class A fo.ol. Don't you know the OP is right? If everyone wants to start his or her own business, I wonder who will be the workers...

That's why we have consultants and so on who don't own businesses but control tinz...

waleadex: Honestly I am enjoying the comments from all the ladies in this thread.I wish this post makes it to the FRONT PAGE to get more fantanstic replies.
And why should it make front page? When it's quite obvious (even though it's better than pictures of Tonto dike or latest calender shoot of Chika Ike).

But I would still support greatgod dthat temperament plays its role. I'm quite Sanguine...and I talk quite well especially when advising somebody...and I talk sense!

violent: You have to ask yourself what you live for. The moment you model your life around other people's expectation and standards, that moment you set yourself up for a big crash. Damn everyone! Just live your life! In the end, the decisions you make is what determines how far you'd go in life. Why do you care if a lot of people get disappointed anyway? What are you? the world's granny? Regardless of what you do, someone's always going to be sad anyway, you might as well just do what you want and damn whoever is having nightmares over the the things you have chosen to do with your life.

You should also grow some ballz and do something about your self confidence. Neither your dad nor his friends nor yours will be paying your bills in a couple of years to come, so why must you let them make your decisions for you?

When i was a teenager, my dad would tell his friends that his son will one day become a really fine surgeon, I told him point blank at some point that he can shelve that dream cos I wasn't interested in any of that stuff and i made sure he understands that nothing can change my mind about that. Sure the dude was disappointed at that point, but a part of him marvel at how an Eighteen year old could be so firm about his choices, and that was the moment i earned my voice.

You've got to grow up son, you are not a kid anymore.
Thanks bro.

chax100: Let me start by saying, congratulations on your first-class, I know what it takes to be a first-class student. People will always expect much from you. But, if I were you, I would have remain in academics. Apply to your department for the post of a graduate assistance and contribute to the your own quota to our educational sector. I wish all the best to you in your endeavours. Cheers!
Hmm...thanks for the advice. People should keep them coming...
Science/TechnologyRe: Lion Hugs Woman That Rescued Him 6 Years Earlier by sholay2011(m): 10:20pm On Mar 09, 2013
This is quite touching. So lions too sabi wen pesin take care of dem. If Lions could be that sensitive, nothing less should be expected of human beings?

Mothers, take good care of your children. The appreciation later in the future would definitely be more than a 'Lion hug' but this is amazing!

CelebritiesWhere Is Uche Obi Osotule? by sholay2011(op): 9:21am On Mar 09, 2013
I remember those days when I was still a fan of naija movies, I became an ardent fan of this effective combination of talent and beauty in one person called Uche Obi-osotule.

She blew me away in movies like Onome and Thunderbolt as 'Ngozi'. Anyday I see the latter movie, I'm always amazed at how wonderfully she acted and that has been the best performance I've seen from a Nigerian actress in a leading role till date! (Maybe I need to see recent movies sha)

She has been away from our screens for years now with acting sensations like genny, omotola, ini edo, tonto d1ck, mercy johnson, chelsea eze etc taking over but I wouldn't mind to know how far this lady is doing. She is a rare talent.

donlyone: Worst naija movie i ever saw. The end made no sense at all
Ironically, it's one of my best naija movies till date...seems like Nigerians don't like movies with ends that 'hang' in which the viewers are left to ponder. I know you would be an ardent fan of 'Eran Iya Osogbo' and the 'Koto Aye series'...lol.

RomanceRe: Can I Marry My Senior Brother's Wife? by sholay2011(m): 9:34pm On Mar 07, 2013
maclatunji: Eyah. If you were a Muslim, I would have said consider marrying her. She wants a man and has set her eyes on you. No woman would like a co-wife so I understand your wife's position too.

To be honest marrying her sorts out many problems. If we say she should go and look for her own man, what will happen to your neices and nephews?

Talk to your wife about it, who knows she may have the heart of a saint. However, is your ex-brother's wife a decent woman? Can she relate with your wife with respect?

Your story is one of the reasons I can't claim 100% that polygamy is out of the question for me even if I prefer monogamy.

It is a tough call.
Tough call indeed...your view is quite myopic and comic(maybe due to ur religious beliefs). Why should marrying your ELDER BROTHER'S WIFE be a tough call? What were you thinking? Can't you set her on a date with one of your friends you can comfortably say can help her from her 'misery'? Must it be you?! Must it be you that would shoulder all your 'brother's responsibilities' up to 'bedroom ones'? So kind of you...but stewwwpeedd.

That's usually what they say when the marriage is still 'going well'...'He is the most understanding man on earth'...'I can't imagine life without him'...'He is a blessing from God'...'He is my hero'.....bla bla bla.

I pray she doesn't start to sing a different tune years to come that 'her third marriage is like her first ever'.
