hopegirl:@hopegirl, My remark was in no way an insult to your church. Kindly read your post one more time and tell me if I'm wrong about the 'delusion' thing. hopegirl: |
hopegirl:You're welcome my dear |
@hubreality, So you're not even a cell leader yet Heh!! When did you even join the Haven? so you've been insulting your leader all this while?? Just joking!! How do you do ? |
mufikings:Here comes another fellow brandishing the 'Touch not My Anointed' line. You said you have followed this thread from the begining right? Then you must have missed the part where we treated the 'Touch not My Anointed' issue. Since that is the only defence you have for all the facts tabled on this thread, I suggest you go back and read my post. I actually reposted it on page 9 of this thread for hopegirl to read so you can go back and read it as well; When you are done reading, then we can talk Thanks |
hopegirl:Any belief not not worth standing for is only good for the trash can!! hopegirl:This is the height of delusion and selfishness; is this what is more important to you: your "BP", whatever happened to eternal damnation? Oh I forgot, its probably not taught in your church or maybe theres away you can 'faith' and 'talk' your way out of it. Gosh!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
hopegirl:Thats exactly the point some of us are trying to make. They're still humans and not 'gods' as they have claimed to be. The fact remains that the only reason why we live and remain in health is Gods mercies. Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV) (22) It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. (23) They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. Philipians 2:25-27 (25) Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants. (26) For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick. (27) For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow. |
hopegirl:hopegirl, I doubt if you've read these passages yourself because nothing here talks about signs and wonders or miracles or 'the mystery of the blood': John 6 vs 48-51,53-57 48I am that bread of life. 49Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. 50This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. 51I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. 53Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. 54Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. 55For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 56He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. 57As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. matthew 26:26-29 26And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. 27And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; 28For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. 29But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom. luke 22:19-20 19And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. 20Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you. |
hopegirl:I think you should read this post by Recognise on this very topic: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-207102.0.html |
hopegirl:"I cannot be sick, I cannot be broke" etc are all Word of Faith crap! the word of God does not give any such promise to the Christian. Its probably okay if he says it to himself, but teaching Gods children to "keep saying it" will mean giving them false hope. You will be shocked to know that almost every Word of Faith preacher who has preached the "I cannot be sick" lie either died of sickness or is still battling with one. I'll give you thier names if you want: Oral Roberts, Kenneth Hagin, E W Kenyon, Dr betty Price(wife of Dr K C Price) and many others. hopegirl, even your pastors wife was once sick near to death but for the intervention of medical science. Add it all up!! |
naomijt:How come it took you this long to figure that out huh!!! ![]() |
naomijt:students are admitted into the Healing School free of charge. However, during the healing service at the end of the session, only pastors and selected partners (big givers) are allowed to witness the show. If it is on this premise you included that line, then you are right otherwise, take it down ![]() |
SistaSista:They were equally the things I believed for a long time too; until of course I decided to answer some of the questions about these doctrines that bugged me. To clearly understand how very unscriptural these doctrines are, I think it is necessary for you to know its origin. I do not know if the 'Word of Faith Movement' has been treated on this forum otherwise I will endeavour to talk about it in different post. There, I will address all the issues I highlighted and many others. |
naomijt:@naomijt, Point of correction, he never said "You need to be a partner before u can attend healing school" I think you should take that out |
You too!!! Ha Ha, I once parted with a swatch wristwatch I bought as a student for 15k. Hmmmmmmmm!!!! ![]() |
You too!!! Ha Ha, I once parted with a swatch wristwatch I bought as a student for 15k. Hmmmmmmmm!!!! ![]() |
biolabee:- The Christian has the very "pulsating life" of God and is therefore in the same class with God. - Jesus was tormented in hell by demons, fought with them as a man and defeated them as a man "like you and me" - Jesus was born again - The Christian is a "superman", he is "indestructible", has the same abilities as Jesus, has "dynamic ability to cause changes" - God is exactly the same height as Adam, in the neigbourhood of 6ft thereabout. - "God cannot interact with anything less than himself in class so He elevated the 'new creation' to his class so He can relete with him to mention but a few |
I'm so surprised some folks mentioned here that they've not seen or heard of such before. Although I may have to excuse them since I'm aware such practice is common in the penticostal/charismatic circle. This practice can be readily observed in most Naija 'penticostal' churches especially those who are fast subscribing to the widespreading 'Word of Faith Movement'. For those who know the word of faith and its origin (the US) it shouldnt be a surprise at all. Word of faith practitioners believe so much in 'Revealed Knowledge' especially when they have to back up a clearly unscriptural practice/belief. So lets just say its one of those 'RHEMA' they have recieved from gawd. Take a look at these videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtU6bvOqwgA&feature=related https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxSJiAwXgXY&feature=related https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fknk2MO0MyU&feature=related |
@hopegirl, I can see you're trying to bring up the 'Touch not my anointed' defence line; maybe you should read the post below one more time. While you are at it, you may also want to do a research on 'The Word of Faith Movement' and the doctrines associated with it. Chris Oyakhilome & David Oyedepo are top on the list for spreading this 'Gospel' in Nigeria. Let us know what you find out!!! SirJohn: |
Dios:They might as well believe in superman, batman, ironman, x-men, voltron and superted Loads of crap ![]() |
hopegirl:@hopegirl Unfortunately, it may be too late and even expensive to wait for the 'by and by' to come. Like I have mentioned somewhere on this thread, you can verify everything I have said if you are determined to do so. One of the drawbacks you may face is 'Fear' but if you can overcome it, you'll be amazed at the truths you'll find. I was not the only one that observed the scam at the Healing school of CE; there were several others including three other guys I met during that period (two brothers who brought their Mum who was confined to a wheelchair all the way from warri, and another guy from Lagos who also brought his Mum in a wheelchair). Can you believe that even after observing these things, these guys will always shudder in fear whenever I mentioned words scam, fraud, deceit, stage managed, fake etc. They would tell me not to say it even if that is what it is. One asked me if I wasn't afraid of the wrath God if Chris was a man of God, or the wrath of Satan if he was operating with the powers of darkness. In other words they didn't want the wrath of either God or the devil (can you imagine). There is a saying from where I come from that 'a traveller who asks questions cannot miss his way'. so my dear find the answers to these questions. study Gods word with an open and honest heart, you wont miss it. |
Hmm!! It amazes me that some Christians will do anything but read their Bibles; they'd rather cling on some sweetsounding fable from a 'man of god'. The last time checked, no pastor not even Jesus was the officiating minister at the wedding in Canna. You will all agree with me if I said that the wedding in Canna was also a traditional wedding; now does that nullify the wedding? Okay, let us assume that they were not 'born again' christians, was there any other account of a wedding ceremony in the bible (New testament)? if that information is not provided for us, why are we making unnecessary unscriptural assumptions? |
KunleOshob:Well said KunleOshob |
SistaSista: SistaSista:@SistaSista, You have raised two very strong issues from your posts, one which any wise and discerning follower of Mr Christian Oyakhilome should consider. I have discussed these issues several times with some key leaders who like in your own case did not have an answer as well. This reminds me of a Brother in the christ embassy branch where I worship; he came up to share a testimony of how he raised a little boy from the dead. According to him, he was passing by on the said day and heard people crying, when he enquired, he was told a little boy had just died in a particular house. He said he went in, laid hands on the little boy who started to cough immediately. He told us that the mother of the boy asked for his church and he told her it was christ embassy, she then promised to come to church with the whole family and neighbours. When he ws asked if the woman or the boy was in church, he said no that they were on their way. My sister, that is how that matter died, till today no body bothered to find out about the boy or the mum who never visited the church. It is very obvious that the Brother wasnt telling the truth yet that lie was celebrated before a congregation of over 2000 people. Another good point you made was that of plagiarism by pastor Chris. Several months before my discovery at the healing school, while doing a personal research on 'the word of faith movement'; I read about Essek William Kenyon a man regarded as the progenitor of the word of faith movement. I read exerpts from several of his books online and also went to christian bookshops to get some. I was amazed to find out that the core teachings Mr Christian Oyakhilome were from this man, a lot of times he quotes him word to word. I also found out that Kenneth Hagin, another man who greatly influenced pastor Chris also plagiarised Kenyon, but denied doing so claiming that the 'Holy Ghost' must have revealed the same thing to both of them. http://www.intotruth.org/wof/kenyon.html. Mr Chris Oyakhilome has not only plagiarised books written by other people, he has also plagiarised messages and sermons preached by people like Kenneth Copeland, Kenneth Hagin, Oral Roberts etc. It is no surprise to me why the followers of Mr Chris Oyakhilome copy him, the man is a copycat himself who has chosen copycats as his mentors. Hagin copied the works of Kenyon and is himself copied by pastor Chris; Benny Hinn copied Kathrine Kulhman's pulpit mannerism and dressing (all white) and is himself copied by pastor Chris again. oh how can I forget the fact that he also copied T B Joshua's method of ministering to the sick. He is indeed a many sided man. My Sister, you do not need any special revelation to know that this man is a charlartan and a phoney; a century back from today, he and many others like him would have been snake oil salesmen. |

ow11:You know Ow11, shortly after my discoveries at the CE healing school, I started doing a little research on some US televangelists; my findings were quite startling. Most Naija preachers are actually patterning themselves like their US counterparts. They have succeeded in bringing in class & personality worship into Naija churches, 'the money cometh' prosperity scam and many other trash. As long as you are rich, classy and influential, you'll earn respect and recognition in their midst. |
Believers' Loveworld, is a place where we share Gods Love reaching out with peace and love making plain Gods plan for all Believers Loveworld building a happier world with love, For five years until several months back, I would sing this anthem with joy. Today, I sing it with tears and wish that millions of misled sincere christians singing it will suddenly wake up like I did. I used to wonder what a world without BLW would be like, Today, I walk with freedom and relief in my spirit knowing I don't have to be bound in that 'world' a world I now know to be stained with falsehood. I LOVE YOU ALL!!! |
This is a healing school video I uploaded on youtube (I had to split them into seven parts for easy upload) ***Please download after watching as this video may be censored due to copyright reasons*** Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUj_2zjYf5E Part 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LUQpSLhs5I Part 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DEFfh22a1s Part 4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BnN-sAjIm58 Part 5: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2HuCTc2_ns Part 6: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDg3pG7ZEtM Part 7: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXaEahB-Uq0 It is a testimony of the ‘miraculous’ healing of Mrs Ama Aponsah of Ghana. In this video, we are made to believe that she was healed of breast cancer and brain tumor after Pastor Chris ministered to her in one of the Healing School sessions in South Africa. I wish to point out some discrepancies in this testimony which I observed after watching this video and reading a report of this ‘healing’ from the August edition of the Healing School magazine. I have also seen and spoken to Mrs Ama in person when she was invited to the May 2008 Healing School session in Lagos to share her testimony before a live audience (I was part of the audience). Firstly, in part 1 of this video, Mrs Ama Aponsah is said to be ‘totally incapacitated’ and unconscious of her environment or anything going on around her. Watching this video, one would not fail to notice certain things that point to the fact that someone is definitely lying somewhere. Did you notice that Mrs Amah never coughed until the exact moment Adolph Kofi Lampte mentioned that she coughs? Notice also that she didn’t cough afterwards. (you be the judge). If she was unconscious like was said and completely oblivious of her surrounding, how come she was singing along with the music. (Or was that the beginning of the ‘miracle’) In the video, Pastor Chris said she “went into a deep sleep momentarily” when he laid hands on her. I’ve played this video over and over again and at no point did she appear to be sleeping, she seemed conscious to me. ( I don’t know about you) This is a summary of Mrs Ama’s case: she was diagnosed of breast cancer; afterwards, it degenerated into brain tumor. She began medical treatment which involved chemotherapy; she stopped her chemotherapy and sought divine healing at the Healing School. At the Healing School she was prayed for by Pastor Chris, but was taken back to Ghana in the same condition. Now the video shows a supposedly ‘healed’ Amah sharing her testimony. Now here is the part of the story not included in this video: I happened to be at the meeting in Lagos where Mrs Ama was invited to come and share her testimony before a live audience of partners, pastors and Healing School students. She said everything you heard in the video except that in the video, she did not mention that after she was flown to Ghana straight to the hospital, she spent six weeks in the ICU receiving serious medical attention. She had gone to resume the chemotherapy she abandoned before coming to the healing school. According to her, she was sedated after that period of time and woke up seven days later. The doctors discharged her knowing she was stable enough to leave. It seems to me here that someone is trying to take the glory for the good effort of medical doctors. They refused to add that part or probably edited it out of her testimony while creating that video. Maybe it would have made the ‘miracle’ look less spectacular. In the August edition of the healing School magazine, see link: http://www.christembassyhealingschool.org/new/images/pdf/August2008.pdf; Mrs Amah was reported to have woken up only a few days after returning from the Healing School and that the doctors ‘discovered she was healed and discharged her immediately’, a report which is totally untrue. Now hear this: During the meeting, after Mrs Ama had finished sharing her testimony; she walked up to meet Pastor Chris on the platform and whispered something to his ear. she had told him that the condition had further deteriorated into partial loss of vision; He had to pray yet again for her. Later that night after the meeting closed, I was on my way out when I saw Mrs Ama in front of me. I was shocked at what I saw; the same Mrs Ama Aponsah who walked majestically up and down the platform to show everyone she was truly healed was being aided to walk by another woman. She could barely move and even trembled as she walked. Just to be sure I saw the right person; I called her name ‘Sister Ama’ she turned to me and we exchanged pleasantries. At close range, she didn’t look okay at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!. She is obviously still battling with the condition. The thought of it lingered on my mind for a long time. So just what on earth is going on at the Healing School? Just what are they trying to make us believe? |
donnie:Bro Donnie, I actually gave you the benefit of the doubt and read your posts all over again. It is very disappointing to note how much you lack scriptural foundation. You said you quoted the scripture verbatim, but all you did was to twist the scripture probably to satisfy your urge to spew your false babblings. You also said you quoted scripture in 'a few places' but that is a blatant lie because you made attempt to do so in just one place:
To my fellow believers in Christ, those of you who have something to loose if you speak profanity, be strong and courageous, do not be afraid of their revellings for they are bread for us. Only let your conversation be as becometh saints so that when they speak of you as evil doers, they will be liars.
Is this quote from 'Donnie International Version' (DIV) of the bible? because this is what my own bible says: philipians 1:27 "Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel" 1 Peter 2:12: "Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation" 1 Peter 3:15-16 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. All you did was join two different scriptures and then add some finishing of your own. These scriptures do not refer to me or any Christian using this medium to reprove the dishonesty in the CE Healing school. Nothing spoken by me on this thread is a false accusation against CE. Everything I have narrated and stated here are easily verifyable and I have given every one the opputunity to do just that. I should be the one throwing this scriprure at you and your pastor to shun dishonesty and deceit for the sake of the world who as spectators are watching our conduct as christians. 1 Peter 3:15 admonishes us to always be ready to answer in meekness and reverence whenever we are being questioned not to rant and rave in displeasure. Only an honest conduct will end the controversies surrounding pastor Chris and his Healing School. In some of your posts, you mentioned that the purpose of this thread was to deny the power of God. can you please explain to everyone how exposing falsehood and deceit equals denying Gods power? |
donnie:Yes, anybody can quote the scriptures but that is no excuse for you not to give scriptural references to your arguments. "what do you use to discern?" is that question coming from you? how would you know when you don't back your points with scripture but rather you hide behind quotes from Chris Oyakhilome. I was not talking about the special gift of 'Discerning of spirit' in 1Cor 12:10; it is very much different from the simple discernment discussed in 1 John 4:1-3.(read your Bilble Donnie) Perhaps you were waiting till you had the special gift before testing your Pastors' messages and claims. donnie:It's very disappointing hearing this from you donnie. Most of the people who have contributed a word or two on this thread (for or against my story) are born again, spirit filled, tongue talking Christians. I'm sure you know that. donnie:I'm sorry, but all this does not make an ounce of sense; maybe someone should help out donnie:God forbid that I celebrate the 'shortcomings' of Gods children. But if any man, under the guise of spiritual leadership decides to intentionally fleece Gods children, then such a person must be exposed. deceiving Gods people through false miracles is not a shortcoming, it is a premeditated evil. And i put it to you donnie that Chris Oyakhilome is a culprit. donnie:who at all has Pastor Chris submitted to for scrutiny? Nobody but himself. His miracle claims have been an object of controversy since he came into limelight, yet he still maintains high level of secrecy and security when it comes to his miracles. Donnie, I did a compilation of all your responses on this thread up till now (in chronological order). Please note how that there is'nt any reference to scriptures in any of them, yet you talk about the 'WORD', which word? Mr Chris Oyakhilome's I guess.
I saw this thread from its very first page but refused to contribute as i have seen so much of such threads on nairaland since 2005. They havent changed a thing except of course for the many who have not tasted of that true annointing and power from on high. . . these (unfortunately) are made to think that that glory which we see the scriptures is unobtainable today. That is the purpose of these theads. . . to deny the power of God. it dosnt matter how religious they appear, they are not from the Spirit of God. One thing i do when i hear an allegation such as this is to look at the life of the critics or accusers; for if their lives do not portray that power and glory as it should rightly be, i discard such allegations as thrash. . . null and void! If not, how can you explain a christian trying tooth and nail to bring another down? My friends, that is evil, no matter how you look at it. Forget about whether the miracles are true of not, you and i know they are and have stood the test of time. Testimonies abound in Nigeria and all over the world to the glory of God. So now, what is your purpose for this thread? Are those miracles too big for God to perform? Is it impossible or is it a sin to say to the lame 'rise and walk' and have him do just that? Are you trying to cast doubt on the testimonies of God or you are simply envious? I know that at the healing school we have bed and stretchers to meet the needs of those invalid who will need them as some may not always travel distances with these things. Plus that, there are trained doctors and medical practitioners on hand to attend to the needs of these people. Tell me, is it strange to have wheel chairs and stretchers around in a place that attends to the needs of thousands of sick people? Besides there are some who come, get healed and refuse to take their wheel chairs and crutches along with them. These could add to the number available for use at the healing school. That will be too cheap and regretable a thing to do. We cannot even imagine such. It will suprise you, but i havent even bothered to look at the pictures. I know that some of these people are even carried on the back of someone to the healing school. I have worked there myself as a volunteer. I have led the sick by hand to their seats to hear the Word. . . and hearing these allegtions, i am close to tears, not of self pity but, i think i can hear what God is saying: don't worry my children, they have not said those things against you but against me. It will take a crooked mind to think up such falsehood. Dignitories, captains of industry, ministers of the gospel have all visited the healing school of CEC. To come up with stories such as this is to insult their intelligence. I have by the grace of God commanded the healing power of God on behalf of some sick folk and seen instant results. i even think it is much easier to command a miracle in Jesus name than to fake one. Those of us who have tasted that power from on high can tell you. It is freely given and is abundantly supplied as the Spirit wills. Once you are in his plan and purpose, anything is possible! You shall decree a thing and it shall be established. To my fellow believers in Christ, those of you who have something to loose if you speak profanity, be strong and courageous, do not be afraid of their revellings for they are bread for us. Only let your converstaion be as becometh saints so that when they speak of you as evil doers, they will be liars.

Point of correction; by the grace of God i am a skilled professional, working an 8hr job in one of the largest mobile phone companies in the world. I have too much rank for that. How many of those ministers of God have you approached for medical reports? I am certain if u approach the healing school the right way, u'd get quite a lot as one of the compulsory requirements for registering at the healing school is a provision of a medical report. I repeat, this thread is not from the Spirit of Christ

Welcome bro'

@Vicade Look at you. . . christian. . . attempting to compare pastors with pastors. please learn to stick to God's word and not hearsay then you will not be speaking in such a confused manner. Yes, members of CEC love their pastor but know the Lord and understand what He expects of them. That is why you do not hear things like: The God of pastor chris or the God of Christembassy like is common among you. I remember a certain convention years ago where a lady who was healed came testifying saying: 'I thank the God of Christ Embassy. . . ' It caused no small erruption of laughter. She wasnt rebuked though, but we recognized that she hasnt been with us but was from among your group of penticostals. And you are proud to say you do not answer to or believe in anyone (including your pastor and God i guess). If you have come in contact with any true CEC member, their trust and confidence in the efficacy of God's Word is unmistakable, hence the mighty exploits they do all around the Word through the power of his name Talking about the blind girl recognizing colours, you probably read that up from some soft-sell magazine or some junk write-up. That miracle was aired on TV but not on a christembassy program. However tell me, is it to much for the God who gave a donkey intelligence to speak, rebuking the erring prophet, to give a man intelligence to recognize colours? If you can't believe it, i do! It may be too much for your God but not for my Jesus. That is too little a miracle for my God to do. if he could open the girl's blind eye, is it too much to give her intelligence to recognize colours? I have seen one who was born deaf and dumb begin to speak intelligently, answering questions by the power of God. Common, we are talking about the God who divided the red sea and held it up until over 6 million jews went through. My friend, is it the same bible i read from that you are reading? You are so funny, so bc it happened to your friend and @ RCCG which is probably your church, the miracle is genuine? Well you talk about 1 egg being replaced, i have seen a little boy who from birth had no balls (with doctors report to attest to the fact) having his 2 balls appear in between his legs during a CEC meeting. My dear, all such comparison is childish and not helpful. My advice: STICK TO THE WORD

I read in one of you posts where u admitted that even though you have recieved the Holy Spirit (which we will need more than just words to prove) you do not speak with tongues. That answered my supicions. Since then, i decided not to join in such arguements with you (especially as pertains to miracles and the power of the Spirit). Because, if you do not believe in the importance of Speaking in tongues, enough to partake of the gift, how can you appreciate the greater demonstrations of the spirit. Were you not the one that argued in some place that we as Christians cannot claim to have eternal life or the life and nature of God while on earth? Unfortunately for you, truths such as these are not learnt in schools, they are recieved by revelation of the spirit through the agency of God's word. So you can go ahead and speak to the wind, I dey go sleep.

That you attend CEC on sunday is no guaranty that the Word is in you. Afterall, we see here someone who attended the healing school with a totally different motive. I notice you said you 'attend'; but are you a member there? Are you involved in what is going on there or you just attend? I don't want to be the one to correct you on this your 'i don't answer to any pastor' talk. I will rather wait for you new friends to do so. If they don't, maybe for the sake of love, i will show you from scripture where you err because you do not wake up one day and decide to belong to a certain church. It is God who leads you there and causes you to be established and grow in that place. Of what benefit are these schools of thought that you've raised to the body of Christ. shine your own light and let the darkness be exposed. If the miracles are fake, perform the genuine ones. Or else are you saying that satan is more powerful than God. I have observed that it is only the first category that has permenent members. The last two are tossed to and fro and this is what i mean: They first start out by saying, 'the miracles are not real. . . they are stage managed'. Then if they are granted the opportunity of witnessing first-hand the power of God, they shift camp saying, 'hmmm it's majic, it's the devil's power!' The smart ones don't take any position at all but ensure that by watever means, they fulfil their evil intentions on casting doubt on God's annointed, no matter what it takes. Chai! human beings.

Anybody can quote Logos. You talk about descerning of Spirits. What do you use to discern?. . . are you sure it is the gift in operation and not your mind? why have you not been able to discern whether or not you have the Holy Spirit's backing in this your endeavour? Look at you, standing in the congregaton of sinners, taking sides with satan the accuser of the brethren to attack the church and then you come here telling me about discernment. OK let me ask you, since you have discerned, to which group do you belong? 2 or 3? because from what i see, you havent taken a stand on either. Like what i explained before, you started out talking about discernment, implying that the Siprit could be of the devil abi? Then you went ahead to call for independent investigation into the working of miracles thereby leaving room for doubt that they ever occured. My dear, i put it to you that you have discerned nothing, but like your unbeliever friends, you are merely dancing to the tune of the one who ws cast down from heaven. Do you think i have not seen and heard many attrocities commited by God's children around the world? On how many threads do you see me celebrate along with sinners, the percieved shortcomings of the church. What all this your criticism will not achieve in 10yrs, The heartfelt intercession of a little old lady beside her bed in tears will do in a much shorter time. It is not my responsibility to criticize and accuse others. I am not wiser than Jesus who said he will build His church and the gates of hell will not prevail. So I leave the accusatin for the devil and his kids. If you notice, from the story you quoted, the lepers were sent to the priest and not to the Senate Commitee on Mircles, or Independent Miracle Investigation commision, or NBC and definitely not Nairaland. They were sent to the priest of God!
|
vicade: donnie:Donnie its called 'dicernment', 'testing the spirits' something you and your lot don't have the balls to do. Its a scriptural instruction from the book of 1 John 4:1 "Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world." NIV 2 Cor 11:14-15 "And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness." NIV The Berean Christians were called 'Noble' for doing this: Acts 17:11 "Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true." NIV Brother Donnie, you dont prove a miracle is fake by performing a real one. Debunking a false miracle claim does not in any way question the efficacy of Gods power. READ YOUR BIBLE!!!!!! |
Probably, It is only in faith healing that a practioner remains viable inspite of repeated failures. A surgeon with many reported cases of death during operation will be delisted for lack of ability and even prosecuted. A scientist whose publications are contradicted is forced to retract those publications and his or her reputation is permanently damaged, funding will cease and his career will end in disgrace. It is high time that faith healers are required by law of each land to open their claims to scientific investigation. That will weed out the charlatans from the extremely few who God has bestowed with the ability to mediate his power to cure sickeness and diseases. You can have the faith to move mountains but if God did not give you the gift of healing, you cannot cure any illness in the name of God. One of the characteristics of people without genuine ability (in all professions/vocations) is to give excuse instead of evidence.
I cannot agree any less m_nwankwo, religious organisations are given too much autonomy especially in Africa. This is no doubt the reason for proliferation of churches. Even Jesus was humble enough to submit His miracle to scrutiny. After curing ten lepers, He sent them to a priest to certify their cure. It was after being certified clean by a priest that one of the ten lepers came back to give glory to God. Luke 17: 11 - 19 |
